Ragnarok Pt. 12: Planetfall
Date of Scene: 10 July 2018
Location: Frigga's Mercy - Earth Orbit
Synopsis: Frigga's Mercy crashes into the Atlantic while the heroes work frantically to evacuate all that they can.
Cast of Characters: Thor, Superman, Nuala Duvall, Rogue, Psylocke, Iron Man

Thor has posed:
In days to come footage would be recovered, data pored over and delved. Little would be regained ultimately save brief images, small moments in time captured by what systems could gather intelligence. Grainy imagery altered by radiation and alien power levels that might have served to corrupt some of the data, of which only a few set shots would remain.
One was of a dark silhouette of a figure in the research area that had been set up. A table's edge standing prominent in frame and catching just the leg and arm of that figure moving forwards carrying something in the crook of its elbow.
Another image showed surveillance of a ragged and torn superstructure that had the afterimage flash of what looks like tendrils or grasping long limbs of some kind emerging from what could be an underway or crawlspace.
But it's the last that dominates the news feeds when the imagery is recovered. The last optic of a wild grasping Ootycetan somehow bursting through the reactor area and apparently twisting torn metal supports asunder as it grasps for the core module.
All of this would be learned of later. But for now...
Bjarke's voice is loud on the bridge of Frigga's Mercy, "Damage report!"
"We've lost power, there's been an explosion of great strength that has twisted our flight!"
The people in the ship suddenly lurge and a good number of them start to rise into the air as the screaming begins. Equipment that's not connected to the floor nor the bulkheads join those struck by the sudden loss of gravity even as outside the ship a steady cascade of debris seems to fire outwards from the hull thrusting the ship towards the Earth.
"Secure the ship! Is there a fire?"
"I say to thee nay, Bjarke. But sir, the power system. It is... gone, sir."
And upon the exterior imagery on the deck they can see the damage wrought upon the ship itself. The great gaping hole, the trailing debris and inside they can see... the nothing of where there should be a power source, seemingly as if a spherical scoop was taken to the ship and carved out its innards perfectly.

Superman has posed:
Clark is at his desk in the newsroom of the Daily Planet when word breaks. /Something/ had happened to the Asgardian ship. It started off with colleagues' phones pinging with a rash of text messages. Then the phones erupted. Amateur astronomers were reporting an explosion.

Everything else started to come to halt as reporters shouted to each other about the latest rumour or update they received. Clark glanced at Lois, giving her an apologetic smile. They wouldn't need their reservation at Carmine's tonight.

Perry White stalked over to Clark's desk moments after Clark slipped out of the room. "Where did he go?" Perry demanded to nobody in particular. "Where does he always go?"

A short distance away from the Daily Planet building, Kal took off into the sky at high speed. One, two, three booms as he rose through the atmosphere toward the endangered ship.

Nuala Duvall has posed:
Nuala was resting when the explosion went off, the rocking of the ship which her ship rests in causing her to sit up straight. "Timmy, what was that?" she asks. She throws her covers off, reaching over to grab her suit, pressing it against her collarbone, ready for battle. She leaps up, securing her dirty blonde hair behind her head as she makes her way to the Sea Song.
"The singularity drive has collapsed," Timmy answers.
Nuala curses as she reaches the bridge, bringing up the analysis tool that was linked into Frigga's Mercy's systems.
"Timmy, I have no data. Can you patch the systems?" Nuala asks.
"I cannot. The power to the Frigga's Mercy systems are offline. The drive imploded.
Nuala lets out a string of Xandarian curses. "I thought you said we had a week before that had to be taken offline."
"It appears there were other variables," Timmy answers.
"Other variables. That drive probably just took part of the ship out of existence. Do they have airlock?" she asks.
    "Checking now."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue was not a fan of space. She'd seen that Sandra Bullock movie and she didn't care for this... not one bit. She was invulnerable to a freight train running into her, she could manipulate her gravity within a gravitational field... but she cannot live in space.

So naturally Tony asked her to travel to the Asgardian spaceship to help Thor with work aboard the vessel. They needed heavy lifting and they couldn't work out a way to get a crane or a robot into the spaces that they needed the work done, so how about a 5'7" girl who can lift 100 tons? Makes sense right.

Rogue is all manner of grumbles though, but she's doing her best to keep a smile on her face as she knows these people are in trouble and need help.

So when her worst fears come to be realized and an explosion is felt/heard somewhere aboard the ship, Rogue drops what she's carrying onto the ground with a thud and then looks around. "Oh jesus. George Clooney, where are you?" She gasps aloud.

Psylocke has posed:
Asgardians and aliens were not the only beings on that ship now. There were a few humans who had been helping with the humanitarian efforts. Some had come voluntarily to offer their skills and the material things needed to support the displaced population. Others had been recruited for their special skill set.
Betsy was in one of the areas that was smaller but allotted some privacy. She was there with an Asgardian warrior who had been tampered with by the Dark Elves during the battle. They sat on the floor across from one another, eyes closed. In truth, she was joined with the Asgardian woman's mind, working on removing those dark effects that lingered.
As the explosion rocked the ship, she opened her eyes and quickly withdrew from the warrior's mind. With her mental shields down, Psylocke felt the panicked response of people on board even as the screaming began. She slammed her mental shields into place.
Then she was weightless. She began to float up from the floor. Quickly, she pushed off, aiming herself for the door and catching the edge to pull herself outside into a hallway, glancing around as she reached out mentally to try and learn what had happened. She didn't let go of that doorframe, wanting to remain in control.

Thor has posed:
The Mighty Thor's first realization that somthing is amiss comes at the first blaring of the alarms and the sudden loss of gravity. It's a short sharp jump and then the roughness of the jolt that sends him upwards into the air of the observation deck even as trails of debris float past while the ship lists soundlessly to the side, turning itself towards the Earth as it begins to fall.
His hand snaps out to the side and with a low humming /whom/ Mjolnir flies across the room and into his grasp, giving enough momentum to hurl him towards the door as he pauses just long enough to kick that old broken door open and slam a fist into the comm system at his side. "This is Thor, what has passed!"
The speaker crackles to life as the Thunderer is answered.
Meanwhile, Nuala will get a datafeed on the structural integrity of the ship. An overlay displaying the Mercy itself colored with several small flashing yellow markers and then a large single red one with a myriad of smaller ones all around it like angry ants. As she presses for more data the display will provide her a view of the emergency systems clicking into action as well as the small blue silhouettes of the crew in those areas. Only a few of those wink out as they leave the internal area of the ship, likely blown into space... but at the least most of the emergency bulkheads are slamming into place preventing the ship from venting entirely.
One thing, however, might come to her attention. Is that now without power the ship can no longer maintain its channeled magnetic armor and the integrity of the ship as a whole has plummeted deeply.
From afar Clark would easily see with his amazing vision the spectacle before him as he looks past a lower atmosphere satellite and see the broken majesty of the Mercy tilting slowly on its axis even as it seems to be dropping down now, its altitude plummeting at an ever increasing rate. He could see that debris trailing afterwards even as the word was only just now getting out and to the world. Likely soon enough astronomers would be reporting seeing him as well entering proximity.
In the hangar deck where Rogue had been working, one of the Asgardians floats into the air near to her and calls out, "Here, take this!" He reaches back and uncurls a length of cable even as he collides with the wall, but he's able to hold onto it with one hand while he unspools the cable and then tosses it towards her. "I will draw you to me!" He offers, likely not knowing she can fly. Meanwhile all around them others are floating upwards still.
The warrior that was with Betsy seemed uncomfortable, unhappy with this vulnerability and joining of minds. Her features twisted into scowls as she rubbed at the scar on her face, a gift from the svartalfar that she both hated and felt proud of. But then through the connection with Psylocke she felt that ripple of panic, moments before the alarms sounded and the gravity kicked upwards. "Hold! It is dangerous." Her blue eyes snap open as she gestures in the way of the X-Man. Not that as she floats she's in any better position to do so.
But then there's another sharp jolt as partial gravity is restored, causing the equipment to begin to float downwards even as people thump back to the ground. Then Thor's voice is heard on the intercoms. << People of Asgard! Now is the time when our mettle is to be tested. We must leave the Mercy. Those that can begin evacuation procedures. >>
With that done Thor breaks out into the hallway and into a run.

Superman has posed:
Kal arcs past the bridge and around so he can see the damaged side of the ship. He sees bodies flying off into space, still wriggling in panic. But the ship is falling and accelerating now, starting to leave its debris cloud behind.

He mouths a silent prayer for the spaced Asgardians.

Then tightens his arc and comes up on the Earth side of the ship, trying to put himself as close to the point where he can apply retrograde motion to the ship. As soon as he starts to push though he feels the shuddering through the ship... This was not at all like when he helped restore the ship to a safe orbit before. He eases off immediately, applying much less pressure, trying to find the point just before the stresses cause the ship to vibrate.

Nuala Duvall has posed:
Nuala bursts out of the bridge, leaping into her Shell suit. "Timmy, get ready, we are leaving. This ship is going to crash."
    "Where are you going?"
"I'm getting the children. Start start the shuttles, get them detatched from the hull, bring them to the docking bay. They aren't going to be any good there anyway."
"Without power, the bay doors will vent to space," Timmy observes. "We cannot bring them back inside."
"Correction, we cannot bring them inside before we enter the atmosphere," the helmet closes over her suit and she rushes to the ramp. "Loudspeaker, it should be able to penetrate part way into the ship. Call for all children to come to the docking bay immediately."
"There is not enough room for two hundre children.
"Pack them like sardines, Timmy, we just need to get them to the ground in one piece, they will survive the ten minute flight!"

She runs down the ramp. "I need two brave souls who can fly a ship!" she calls out into the hangar, her voice magnified by the suit's speaker.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue is staring off to the other side of the hangar where she believes the explosion came from that side of the ship when a cord/cable hits her in the face! She flinches, only out of surprise at something slamming into her head and then catches the cable as it falls down her form into her gloved hands. But instead of needing it, Rogue looks to the Asgardian. "Hold tight, I'll go get a bunch of'em on it." She says then, likely shocking the individual as she flies off as though a jet is propelling her about! With the cable in tow,

Rogue is moving to the people floating about and offering it to them, telling them to grab on to it. One by one she gets other people onto the line and and then turns around to signal to the opposite end for the Asgardian to pull it back with a full load of people attached!

"This is -exactly- why I didn't wanna come up here!" Rogue grumbles loudly while soaring around inside the ship, able to fly still so long as she doesn't get sucked out into star wars land!

Psylocke has posed:
At the urging from the warrior, Psylocke glances back and gives her a nod. "I know. But I have to see if I can help." Her mental scan has her picking up things. There are others coming to the ship, from outside. Then there is someone screaming her name mentally. She pinpoints it and finds Thor, reaching to his mind with her own. He is already making the announcement, calling for evacuations. She then touches his mind, opening a telepathic line to him. <What has happened? I'm going to help with evacuations in the civilian areas. Others are coming to help.>
She reaches out mentally for others, to do the same, to coordinate efforts. If they wish to be part of it, she can relay for them like a mutant commlink.
Now that gravity is restored, the fact the ship is a bit askew makes running difficult. She glances back to the warrior woman in the room. "I apologize but I need to go. As do you." The Crimson Dawn tattoo flares around her eye as she slaps the panel that turns the lights off in the room. The shadows fill it and a moment later, the Asgardian warrior is no longer on the ship. Instead, she is on the lawn of Braddock Manor in England.
With a mental shift, Psylocke then ports herself through the shadows to a living area. "Please, remain calm. I'm here to help get you to safety. I will teleport you to the ground and we will join you as soon as we are able!" With that, she begins to shadow port others to the ground far below, in large groups.

Thor has posed:
The hulking ship continues to trail debris as it accelerates with the draw of the planet and the vented atmosphere, putting it on a course downwards towards the great sapphire expanse of the ocean so far below them. Inside the ship near the front where Superman takes hold, those inside can hear the metal plating creak and contort as it complains angrily at such mistreatment even as the Man of Steel tries to slow the descent.
Inside the ship's hangar the Asgardians are moving with purpose, their efforts steady and for most they execute them in silence save when communication is needed. All around there are furrowed brows and looks of intensity though some have a hint of fear. Psylocke, however, can sense that palpable presence of controlled terror as the people on the ship try to focus on doing what they can.
Lines have formed around the Zetaporter pad, and every time the station comes up to power from its own supply four people are sent to the port facility. But it's too slow, too maddeningly slow.
Near Nuala's ship some mothers have brought their children to the launching bay and they are urging them to get ready. There are tears. For some, though many are stoic though they hide their fears less well as the elders. When she calls for volunteers she gets them quickly as two soldiers put their spears aside for now and look to her. "The shuttles?" One asks.
And if they receive confirmation they nod, "We'll head that way." And without fear they move towards one of the airlocks. Even as Rogue starts to make sure that the people in the hangar land safely as the gravity kicks back in at roughly one tenth the power. She'll get smiles and offerings of thanks while more and more people begin to find their way to the hangar bay. There are few ways down, few places to evacuate from. This will have to serve.
Yet through all the tumult Psylocke is able to reach the minds of those nearby and she'll hear Thor's thoughts /loudly/ as they are hammering with import.
// The ship's engine is lost. I am to the engine room to see what there is to be done. Get as many people off the ship as you can. I will see if there is any power that can be turned to the aid of the armor plating. //

Iron Man has posed:
"What is going ON up there?!" Tony Stark, of course.

"I have an explosion of terrible data down here. Looks like you're going to pieces, lost power, my scanners cut out up there---. I've got some possible trajectories that would be safer if you're coming /down/ to us, and I'll ready a welcome wagon and evacuation spots off the zetaport.---" There's a pause. "----You handle you, up there; we'll be ready to aid whatever comes down," Tony Stark's contact blazes in through to both Nuala's contact, and through any other connections he can perceive are up in the area, such as Rogue, since he'd sent her in the first place. "Rogue, there's two androids of mine up there. Assign them where you need them. They can repair, pilot, whatever, but I can't connect up with them anymore with all this interference."

Nuala Duvall has posed:
Nuala herds the kids in as they start to board. "Yes, she says, "The shuttles. They should be already patched through to the Sea Song," she yells over the creaking, and lands unsteadily with the shift in gravity.
"Timmy will release the bolts when you are aboard." She hears the thoughts of too many people presently, her psi blocker left behind. It's hammering, but she does her best to ignore it the way that she does the crying and screaming. "Get them on board, I don't care how tight you have to squeeze them, leave just one sliver of space for me to get to the bridge," she tells one of the mothers.
As the mental connection hits her, she is somewhat surprised, and she hears the communications from the others. She doesn't know what it is, but there's not time to figure it out. -I am having the children put aboard the Sea Song. We are going to have to blast out the bay doors though in order to get it open. I just sent two Asgardian pilots to get the shuttles, but they won't be able to come in until we blast the doors, so we have to wait until the ship is being burned up in the atmosphere before they can enter to load the adults unless somebody has some way to stop that from happening.-
While she talks, she grabs a child who has started to run back, and turns her around, shoving her into the arms of an older child. "Take her and do not let her go!" she orders through her suit's visor. "Stark," she calls over the traditional comm. "I am not certain that we have any way to plan this landing. I'm not even certain there will be a ship left to impact at the rate we are going," she declares. Hopefully she's either wrong about that, or they can all get off before it burns to nothing.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue is wearing her Avengers costume, though if one looked at it and knew the origins of the X's on the chest, arms and belt buckle they'd know what she associates herself with a bit more in her 'roots' as a super hero. The green and white garmented Avenger floats down toward the deck after the others are back upon it safely. "Gotta make your way to the escape pods." She looks to the Asgardian she was assigned to on her work here. "This thing has escape pods, right? We're not on board the space Titanic are we and there's only like half the pods necessary?" Rogue's right hand reaches up to adjust her white bangs out of her face when she hears Betsy's voice inside her head. "Psylocke?" Rogue says, looking around all confused-like now. "You're onboard?"

Rogue is then holdering her right gloved hand up to the side of her head beneath her white/brown hair. "Tony?" She asks. "How do I find them?" The androids, that is of course. "Look--If I don't make it back from this, will you make sure Ace finds a good home?" Its her German Shepherd, Tony's probably never even seen the dog even though its lived in the Avengers mansion just as long as she has, it stays in her room mostly!

Psylocke has posed:
Even with groups of ten being sent down over and over, it is going too slowly. There is no way she will get everyone to safety. Psylocke knows others are working on the problem as well, mobilizing.
She's never tried to port this many people this quickly. Usually it is a single port then over for a time. This is far beyond what she's done and she isn't sure how long she will be able to maintain. Yet, she has to push more. Maybe more people. She starts to expand the circles opening to whisk people to safety, taking eleven. Then twelve. Thirteen on the next one. "Stay as close together as you can." Fifteen. She's feeling the strain and she doesn't expand more.
Thor's instructions are relayed. In fact, his mental voice is. She is just the channel. As others wish things relayed, they are immediately at the speed of thought.
Soon, that room is clear. But there are so many more. She ports to the nearest and begins again.

Thor has posed:
The gravelly voice comes across the comms, such as they are, fizzing and hissing with static or simply cutting off syllables at points. "Stark. We lost the engine. No power." Then there's a distant crackling pop of static and Thor's voice a little more distantly, "Back away, fall back to the hangar deck! I must breach this door!"
There's a momentary pause and then a crackle of electricity and power that cuts the comm for the moment with the Thunderer.
As Nuala gets the children loaded she can see them, the youth of Asgard. A young girl clutching a short sword looks up at her with plaintive eyes but also accusingly as if she had done something ill, but she does not voice anything even as she walks past. Another child is pulling his sister along by the hand even as the girl cries for her mother who is waving from the hangar deck. The minds of the people around are so tormented, twisting with the anxiety, the fear, but so many of them are trying to keep themselves together.
The child she grasps and gives to the other, they both look at Nuala with wide eyes filled with fear even as they try to push further into the ship.
Meanwhile, further into the hangar deck, Rogue floats down to land in front of the Asgardian who had been helping her. "I am afraid not, milady." He's a young Asgardian though such is assuredly relative, but his brown eyes meet hers and he smiles weakly as he looks towards the streams of people lining up for the various places of evacuation. He looks back to her and hearing her speak he waits for an opening and tells her, "You should get yourself clear, no need for you to die here with us." He says that solemnly, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
As for Psylocke, she is a savior angel to those Asgardians who had no hope of making it to the hangar bay. She comes upon groups of people huddled together in the super structure, small families who are cut off and forlorn. Her senses help her to find them amongst the bedlam even as so many others are trying to rush to the hangar to at least have a chance of getting off the ship.
Then, outside, around the Man of Steel and the nose of the ship ragged flames begin to flicker to life as the ship hits the upper atmosphere. A trail of smoke begins to play off the surface of the ship, licking at the underside of it as it slowly tilts though it is kept somewhat steady by the immense strength of Superman.
Thor's voice comes across the comms again and the mental link as he is simply shouting in his mind as well as words. "The engine room is in ruins, Stark. I am afraid even your skills would be found wanting here, my friend."
There's a pause then his voice again, "Auxiliary power is almost exhausted." And then things might well get even worse.

Iron Man has posed:
"I could --- send up an auxiliary power---? If that will buy you more time to get people out, but I can't perform miracles for you from down /here/," Tony says on the broad comm, frustration flooding into his voice. He does have ideas. Of course. But the distance and inability to use any of it with the total lack of information is like wearing shackles for the inventor.

"Wait. Of course I can. If you rig together the two androids you might be able to power something pretty hefty, their reactors could light a small city... I mean, even to get some thrusters back online. They're in emergency mode by now, which means they're ready by the shuttles to assist however you need, pick them up there," Tony instructs Rogue quickly. As if she'd know how to create an aux power supply out of Tony's robot energy cores without them exploding? But maybe she'll have other uses for them.

"I'm sending a data dump to you, Nuala, about facilities I'm setting up to take evacuees, including injured, if you do end up with alternate ways to get them down to us," Tony sends more specifically to Nuala.

"Rogue, Ace'll be fine, and so will you."

Superman has posed:
~I can't stop the ship~ Superman thinks through the telepathic link. ~Best I can do is buy you some time, make crash somewhere safe.... put anyone you can't evacuate in the rear cargohold~

He keeps pushing against the ship, but it is not enough, Frigga's Mercy will just not tolerate being stopped.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue shakes her head to the Asgardian who was assigned to her, he was physically about her age and they'd been getting along pretty good up to now, he was cute too so that was a bonus... but now she'd gone from simple 'worker mode' to Hero-mode and this was a problem at bit more technical for her. So while Tony is talking Rogue's shaking her head to the Asgardian. "Nah, I ain't gonna leave ya'll. Here." She floats above the deck and zips toward a pair of large containers, yanks the doors open and motions people to get inside. "Anyone who crams in here, I can lift these things... I can hold'em up and get ya'll outta here. Safely back down t'Earth." They're big enough to hold quite a few people too.

Tony's words to her draw her eyes over to where he's indicating and she can spot the androids... or what she figures is an android... damn Star Trek stuff... With a quick huff, Rogue darts off in that direction now and picks them both up by wrapping her arms around them and carrying them toward her cargo containers. Once she sets them down she stares right at them.

"You two." She orders. "Interface with the ship and give your power to it. Use your... uh... batteries... to, uh... power the ship! Do it! Go now! Shoo!" She waves her gloved hands at them!

Nuala Duvall has posed:
Nuala listens to Tony's instructions, watching as Rogue gives instructions. -I know what he's talking about.- "Timmy, seal up the ship, we're full, get ready to fire the plasma cannons on my mark."
"Androids, we need to power the magnetig barrier for a few seconds, just long enough to get the shuttles inside and loaded. It will burn out your power supplies, can you do that?"
-We are going to have one shot at this,- she thinks to the rest of the rescuers. -Re-entry is a matter of friction and heat. Reduce friction, reduce heat-this is a hell of a time to give a space physics class, Nuala, oh yeah, you can all still hear me-Right, so re-entry heat is caused by the friction of air against the hull. We have a big hull, so we have a lot of heat. When I hit this, we will get a couple seconds of friction protection, just long enough to get those shuttles in, then everybody gets onboard, nobody stays behind. We will have about...thirty seconds gauging by these things. Got it?-

Thor has posed:
"The hangar is too far away from me, Stark." Thor says as his voice is heard on the comm along with the distant hissing of static and something roaring in the background. "But I may have an idea."
Even as the smoking trail of the Mercy leaves a smear of burning debris across the upper atmosphere, dark storm clouds now begin to circle so near while the ship hurtles towards its doom. Flashes of flame spring to life upon the hull and around the brilliant beacon of humanity that is Superman while the ship presses heavy upon his shoulders and the hull creaks with vicious complaint at its poor mistreatment. The ship starts to twist as it falls, the flames becoming a curtain of fire that embraces the fore of the vessel, tormenting Superman as it lashes at the ship and him.
Superman might well see the two shuttles on the hull of the ship flicker as their shields engage and then with a /whumpf/ of explosive bolts they break off from the hull of the ship, their engines flaring as they compensate and then start to spiral backwards, decelerating as the two Asgardian pilots start to line up with the hangar bay. Only one shot at this, and when the doors go down they'll have to make a docking maneuver that assuredly will be... unpleasant to say the least.
Inside the hangar, however, the two robots flicker to life and straighten to focus their sensors on Rogue and her orders. She'll see them turn towards each other and confer, then turn back towards her. "Affirmative." One says as they start to turn away and make their best efforts to locate a sufficient power outlet. But then they turn and hear the call from Nuala's place above. "Roger roger, allocating power to magnetic screens."
With that said the automata move into position, one linking to the other and then the second twisting and extending the connector. For a moment there's a whir of energy shunting as generators key to life and then the lights in the Hangar flicker strongly to life and that blue magnetic field slashes into being in front of the closed blast doors.
Closed blast doors that suddenly open with a thump and a hiss as the robots fire them up.

Iron Man has posed:
"In that case.... consider this to be moral support," Tony says, though he sounds distracted by all the other things he is doing. The Welcome Wagon, led by Stark (if anyone reaches the ground in solid pieces) will be ready to catch any and all that need help.

Superman has posed:
Kal grits his teeth against the pain as the fire engulfs him and the leading edge of the ship. He stays in place doing what he can to stabilize the fall without ripping the hull apart.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue watches the androids confer and the confirm and she nods with satisfaction on her face as she glances over to the Asgardians aside her. "See?" She says. "Science is wonderful thing, don'tcha think?" She asks in her southern tones, crossing her arms over her stomach and cocking a hip out to the side all confident like. Then she looks up to watch the ship get adjusted by the new flow of power. "We're gonna be fiiiiine." Throat clear, quiet mutter. "I hope." She has NO IDEA that Superman is trying to manually keep the ship up while getting burned alive.

"Oh, Betsy." Rogue says outloud, assuming the psychic can hear her. "Tony needs to talk to a telepath if ya get a moment after we... survive this, space... crash." Another throat clear. "This might not be the best time t'tell ya, but, I mean, it just struck me, so I better ask now before I forget all togethe'ah."

Nuala Duvall has posed:
"Everybody onboard!" Nuala shouts. "Standing Room only, crunch as tight as you can, all the way to the back of the shuttles!" She pushes Asgardians, shoving as many of them as she can into the ships in the short time they have.
"Nuala, it is time to go," Timmy announces. "Right," Nuala says. -When those barriers fail, that heat will fill this bay. Everybody needs to be out by then.-
She runs to the Sea Song, forcing her way past the children and adults that have squeezed onto her ship. "Time to go, everybody hold on," she announces as he helmet slides back to reveal a sweaty face. She hits the doors, which close, and moves the Sea Song to the exit. Her ship is full, the best thing she can do now is leave. A lurch forward, and the Halal interceptor darts out of the bay and into open air.

Psylocke has posed:
Psylocke reaches out with her mind, seeking any others that are still on the ship. Finding all are now in the Hangar Bay, she seeks the shadow realm as she passes through and steps out of a shadow from one of the containers Rogue had just moved.
"If there are any who can't get into the ships, come as close as you can to me." She will do her damndest to make sure no one is left behind, even if she has to blow out her power to do it.
Hearing the words from Rogue, she glances over at the voice from the past. "It's been too long. I wish it were under different circumstances. When," she doesn't use that If word. "We survive this crash, I will be sure to seek him out." Confidence in her tone which just seems even better with a British accent.

Thor has posed:
Suddenly the reality of the situation is all the more apparent as that door opens and there is suddenly a sky filled with flames and smoke just beyond that magnetic field. A sky that twists and turns as the ship jostles, that seems so unassailable that nobody should rightly survive coming in or out, that they all are so likely to die even as the heroes struggle to save those that they can.
But then one of the shuttles burns past the flames, its engines flaring as it buffers and braces, people fleeing out of the landing area. It hovers for a moment, righting itself with the new environment physics of the internal gravity and then it sets down even as the other shuttle breaks through the magnetic field. The doors open and people begin to surge towards the ships though there is none of the madness of panic. When an older Asgardian stumbles he is not trampled and instead is pulled up by the arms of his brethren.
It is a perfect moment for Nuala's ship to twist and rise from the hangar bay floor angling for the launch even though the inferno beyond is a daunting thing.
The mass of people look to Rogue and the supply container she makes ready. It will have to do any many of them know this may be the only chance they get. She is greeted with nods of thanks as the some of the older Asgardians are moved to board as they settle down inside of it, trying to take what cover they can even as she makes ready.
Then Thor's voice is heard on the comms as he calls out, "Psylocke, tell Superman to make ready. I know not if this will work let alone how long!" And as he speaks the comms break quickly under the sudden loud static burst...
A static burst that is the herald of a tremendous blast of lightning from the very atmosphere that threatens them, a burning and sizzling lash of dancing power that leaps from the heavens and into the cavity of the ship. Smaller bolts of power lash across the hull, leaving burnt trails and carbon scoring all across where they touch. But then Tony's metrics will explode into life as the power levels /surge/ with abandon and the energy plate armor springs to life all over the ship, strongest near the back with the hangar bay, but reaching all the way to the front where Superman focuses his effort.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue watches as all the men, or at least most of them, rush over to Psylocke to stand as close to her as possible. This gets a sigh and a headshake from the Southern Belle who flies up into the air and then moves to seal the cargo containers. "All right, Air Rogue is about t'lift off. Ya'll hold on to each othe'ah inside'a there!" And once the doors are secure she's gliding up to the top and sliding a support bean beneath the connection brackets in the crates centers, linking them together. With this Rogue grabs hold of the line and lifts off, with the crates of Asgardians beneath her. She shoots for the hangar door and out to the atmosphere, holding them with all her might... its a heavy load, but one she can handle! Once free of the ship she angles around and glances over to left.

"Is that Superman?" Rogue asks, catching sight of him under the ship. "Holy hell..." She wants to help him, but she's got a job alraedy... to get these people down to safety on the ground.

Psylocke has posed:
To be fair, there are a few women in the group too. All in all, it's about twenty-two of those who had been doing their best to be sure all others got to safety. They had intended on not getting out but there may just be a chance if this woman is to be believed.
Psylocke had felt strain at fifteen. They bunch together and, in the process, create a shadow beneath their huddled together forms. That's all she needs.
The Crimson Dawn tattoo flares on her face as she lets her power surge outward, taking that shadow and expanding it. The portal opens and they all are suddenly black shadow forms. Then they are gone. An instant later, they all appear on the lawn of Braddock Manor, where all of the others she had evactuated are waiting to see what happened to the rest of their people.
The group of Asgardians give space to the purple haired woman as she wavers a moment yet she remains standing although she reaches up a hand to brush away a droplet of blood that has appeared beneath her nose. "Give me a moment. We will find out where the others have been taken and get you all back together as soon as possible."
So many still on that ship. She tries not to think about it.

Superman has posed:
Kal looks over his shoulder and sees a wide expanse of ocean coming up fast. He holds the ship as steady as he can, keeping it from rotating to give the shuttles the best chance they are going to get. When he sees them fly out, he lets go of the ship and flies along the belly of the doomed vessel to the cargo bay at the back.

Flying up the back of the ship he sees there are still Asgardians inside the hold. He grabs hold of the decking, fingers sinking into the metal and pulls backwards. There is a lurch and many fall to the deck, clinging to whatever they can. Others are flung forward, hurtling against crates, support pillars and the far wall. The ship shudders and there are deep booms inside the hull. Then with a scream of metal, the cargo bay bulkhead rips clear of the forward part of the ship. More of the unfortunate spill down the deck as the wind lashes them. Those who remain feel intense deceleration forces as their torn piece of the cargo bay slows, levels out and begins flying by the impact point of the rest of the ship.

The bulk of Frigga's Mercy, with an uncounted number of Asgardian souls, plunges into the ocean, folding and breaking up as it throws up a massive bow wave.
