R-and-R in the big R!
Date of Scene: 15 November 2018
Location: Riverdale
Synopsis: Sara Pezzini needs time away from the big city. What better place than Riverdale!
Cast of Characters: Supergirl, Witchblade

Supergirl has posed:
Being a Thursday, there is a junior varsity game tonight. Thus the cheerleaders are out in force. Before they head for the game, which is at home tonight, they often go to Pop's for socializing and milk shakes.

Especially the milk shakes.

Kara Danvers is one of them, dressed in her Riverdale cheerleader uniform. She's waves goodbye to the friend that just vacated her booth before pulling her malt over and sipping through the straw as she watches the goings on around her.

Witchblade has posed:
As the cheerleader runs out of the shoppe, there is a tall, brown haired woman that is very unfamiliar to everyone in the area just scoot out of the way as the teen runs outside. "Cheerleaders are out in force today." She mutters as she looks around. "Wow. I've never seen any sort of place like this." She even stares at some of the milkshake machines. "Man, the last time I saw a shoppe like this was in the papers in New York." She says as she sits at the stools, near Kara.

Supergirl has posed:
Seeing an unfamliar face, Kara glances at the newcomer curiously. They live in a rather small town comparitively speaking. So a new face stands out.

Having super hearing, she manages to pick up what the woman says. Since she is speaking as she sits not far from Kara, that has the young woman perking up and speaking. "Pop's is amazing. It's like stepping back in time."

Witchblade has posed:
"I can see that." She says to Kara. "there was one in New York, but it lasted only a month. Not enough people wanted to see an old timey place more than once. The food was good though, so I'm glad to see another like it, even if it is way up here." She then starts to turn on the stool and.....over rotates. "whoa whoa." then she remembers to put her feet on the bar underneath to stop her rotating and turn back to Kara. "Well oiled stools too." She then chuckles. "What would you recommend to eat then? I'm sort of on vacation. I'm Sara, by the way."

Supergirl has posed:
That earns a giggle as the other woman manages to stop the spinning seat. Kara picks up her malt and gets up. She walks over and takes a stool next to Sara.

"The burgers are to die for. And I like the malts but most people prefer the shakes. Chocolate is of course the best one. Well, if you aren't allergic. Or don't like it." She tilts her head as she ponders that. "Or are lactose intolerant. So maybe they aren't the best for everyone." She shrugs to dismiss that the offers her hand like she was taught is polite. "I'm Kara!"

Witchblade has posed:
"If I was lactose intolerant, I'd have been dead a long time ago." Sara says as she shakes Kara's hand. "Love burgers myself. I'll get one of them." She says as she picks up a menu, and Kara will be able to see a bracelet upon her right wrist. It's completely out of place with her entire 'girl next door' look of blue jeans, T-shirt and leather jacket. Especially with the unknown metal composition and the jewels upon it. "Nice to meet you by the way, kara." she then looks outside. "Homecoming game coming up?"

Supergirl has posed:
That gets another shake of her head as Kara giggles. "Junior varsity. It isn't even a varsity game at all." She waves a hand to the various cheerleaders and football players through the place. "There isn't alot to do in Riverdale so this is normal."

She picks up her malt and sips, finding that bracelet. Tapping in her super vision, she tries to figure out what it is. Yet, she is unable. It's not a metal she's ever seen at all. "That bracelet is gorgeous."

Witchblade has posed:
"Really small town. My first time experiencing one." Sara says softly, before 'Pop' tracks her down and she gets her order in. Including the Chocolate Milkshake....and a small malt. "At least Riverdale seems like a good place for a Vacation....and peace and quiet.

The metal of the bracelet is strange....very strange. But it's like it's.....shifting to conceal itself. But Sara takes the question with amazing calm. "Yeah. A friend of mine gave this to me. He's no longer around, so I wear it to remind me of him." She doesn't look sad, so maybe it happened a while ago.

Supergirl has posed:
That isn't normal. Kara watches the bracelet shifting ever so slightly. It might not even be obvious to most people but with her enhanced senses, she can see it happening.

Honestly? She's an alien on this planet. It may be the bracelet is too. Or something else. Sara seems happy with it so she dismisses that. "It's very unusual. He must've really cared to give you that."

Then she spins partway around on her stool, looking at the shop. "Yeah, it's a nice place if you want quiet. Where are you from?" she asks, looking at Sara again.

Witchblade has posed:
"He did, yeah." Sara then chuckles. "New York, as I said. But also the city, as well as the state. So this is rather refreshing....and kinda scary to me. Always been a bit of a big city girl. Just not used to the....quiet." Just then.....a young, dark haired boy runs past with a much larger, blonde boy running after him. "I'LL TEACH YOU NOT TO TOUCH MIDGE, MANTLE!" And Sara blinks at the commotion.

Supergirl has posed:
While Sara pays attention, Kara sort of glances at the commotion but doesn't really react. After all, she's just a mild mannered cheerleader right now. "I wonder who Midge is..."

She sets down her malt and is torn, wondering if she should go out of the building in case her alter ego is needed. Instead, she just waits for now.

Witchblade has posed:
Sara sighs a bit. "Teens, I guess. It'll work itself out I guess. At least the big one wasn't carrying a knife." She then shakes her head as her burger and shake arrives. "Hold off on the malt for the time being." She says as she digs into her burger. "This IS good!'

Supergirl has posed:
"We tend to be rather emotionally volatile," Kara agrees as she watches Sara try out the burger. The verdict gets a big smile. "See! I told you they are great. I can say that no where is as good as Pop's for a burger."

She pauses and adds. "Not that I've been a lot of places to know but I figure they are the best. I can't imagine a better one. How long are you in town for anyway?"

Witchblade has posed:
Sara grins, despite chewing her burger. "Somewhere between a week and a month. It's paid vacation, but it's also mandatory. So the captain just shoved me out the door and said 'Find somewhere, get some rest, relax', then slammed the door in my face. So....here I am."

She then chuckles. "It's a good burger, I'll say that. There was one place that a friend took me to that had a really really good burger. Turns out the restaurant only makes it for those that are regular customers and have a 'membership' at the restaurant. Seems that their chef is really popular, and he made one burger, just for me, out of filet mignon. And he can't make those kinds of burgers every day....mostly cuz the meat is so blasted expensive. But this......this actually tops that burger. Dunno what 'Pop' did, but bravo."

Supergirl has posed:
"That does sound amazing though. A burger actually made from filet mignon? Probably melted in your mouth." Kara picks up her malt and takes another sip. "I think Pop uses magic. Not sure but it seems likely to me." What else could it be?

She does pick up on one thing Sara said. "Your captain? You in the military or something like that?"

Witchblade has posed:
Sara actually pauses in her bite to the burger...and begins to laugh. "Oh god. ME in the military. That's a joke, I hope." She continues to chuckle. "No. the military would be a little more structured than the NYPD. I'm a detective there, but...as I said...I'm on vacation. So here, I'm just boring ole Sara Pezzini, and I'd like to stay that way."

Supergirl has posed:
"Oh!" Kara's eyes go a little wide but not with fear but instead admiration. "You're a detective! That's awesome. I've always admired police officers. I mean, you have so little to protect yourselves yet go put your life on the line for others." Unlike being bullet proof and super strong. She doesn't say that part, of course.

"I'll stop prying now. I didn't mean to be rude by asking all those questions. We just don't get strangers here a lot so I couldn't resist."

Witchblade has posed:
"It's all right." Sara says once she finishes her burger. It's only then she starts on her shake. "We try to. Doesn't always work out though." She then pops her neck. "Other than here, where else should I go to enjoy the quiet of Riverdale?"

Supergirl has posed:
"Uhm. The park is nice. Not sure you'd be into high school football or I'd recommend going to a game." Kara considers a bit more. "Maybe tour the maple syrup factory? Okay, that sounds really boring but they give you this little baby jar of syrup at the end." She holds her thumb and forefinger barely apart to indicate the size. "It so cute! I have like ten of them at home."

They must really not have much to do in Riverdale. "Maybe head further into Starling and there's all sorts of stuff since they are a big city. Museums, clubs."

Witchblade has posed:
"I'll stay out here. City only puts me back to the way I was, and I'd rather not if I want to relax. I may watch the football game after all." Sara says as she gets up. "I'll be around, Kara. It won't be hard to find me." She says as she starts her way out.

Supergirl has posed:
"It was nice meeting you, Sara," Kara calls after her. Just as she gets waved over by a couple of the cheerleaders. Kara hops off the stool and heads toward that booth, giving a last wave to Sara.
