Cast of Characters: Star Shimmer, Amarok, Wonder Girl, Kar'ras

Star Shimmer has posed:
What does a girl do when they don't have a traditional job? Well, thats easy! She goes on patrol! Thats precisely what Autumn did all last night. And Jeez was it a busy night. What was with people last night? The young hero couldn't say. She couldn't even tell if it was a full moon! All she knew is she had one very busy night. One thing was certain, There would be streaks of violet light going through the New York City and some of those would have been caught on the local news and such.

As the sun broke the horizon, Nightingale went back home for a short time. She needed to recharge. That was the important thing. Once done with... everything. She would head out again. Now, she remembered from her last time at the Tower just how much everyone liked pizza but... It's a little early for that. So, she goes to the next best place. A Donut/Pastry shop. Buying several dozen donuts as well as a dozen bagel and shmear, she takes off and flies to the tower.

Now, Tradition would say she go through the front door but, She isn't permitted in the lounge yet. So She goes to the next best place. The Roof. One slight problem however, Its started snowing. Making a canopy construct, she takes a seat on the roof and just waits. After all, its not like her visit would go unnoticed, right?

Amarok has posed:
Several minutes go by in silence as Autumn is left to the soothing snowfall, before the door to inside of the tower opens, letting through the ever grim Amarok. He stops and slowly turns his gaze on Autumn as she sits there with her donuts and light show, simply staring for several seconds before grunting at her and turning to walk to the roof's edge. He stands there as still as a picture for several long seconds before suddenly falling forward, catching himself on the lip of the roof with his feet and hanging straight out off the roof with his hands clasped behind his back, just hanging there like a humanoid diving board.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark was in the lounge watching the morning news and sipping coffee. Hey, not everyone in the Tower is a cartoon-addict! And besides, she's trying to be more of an adult, and being caught up on world affairs is a small step in that direction. That's when she spots the purple streak approaching the Tower, and heading up.

Purple streak. Yeah, the new kid.

So a short while after Amarok heads to the roof, Cassie steps outside as well. Wearing loose flannel lounge pants and a snug black tanktop, bare toes wiggle when they hit the snow. "Hey, I think you can come in-... Moon-Moon, what the hell are you doing? Oh! And are those donuts?"

Star Shimmer has posed:
As Amarok steps out onto the roof, Autumn takes note. She smiles and gives a wave before speaking up, "Ummm, I brought donuts and bagels... They are for everyone..." She states before he walks over and does his best David Bowie impression. The girl blinks and quickly uses her ring. A few feet under Amarok, a construct forms. A nice big net in this case. Just in case he winds up not sticking to the walls.

Then, there is Cassie. "Oh Hey. Thats cool. Its okay though. I'm actually not cold. Though it would be nice to just get out of the snow..." She smirks a little, "Yes. I thought I would supply donuts and Bagels with Cream Cheese. I haven't had those since before I left Earth. So umm Yeah. I guess the idea was a peace offering? I dunno." She blushes.

Amarok has posed:
Amarok utterly ignores Autumn until she puts a net under him. Then he loudly growls at her. Cassie on the other hand, does get a response, albeit a belated one, "...It's called excercise, Cassandra. Some of us actually have to maintain our physique." He says in his usual dry monotone, making it hard to tell if he's being bitter, sarcastic, or just stating facts.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark shakes her head to Autumn, stepping a bit closer. "Hey, you don't -owe- anyone a peace offering, Autumn. Not that I won't help you with those donuts, of course." Shifting her attention briefly to Amarok, she adds. "Well for the record, I wasn't always like this." The superhuman physique, at least. "And just because I -am-, doesn't mean I can't always improve."

Star Shimmer has posed:
Autumn rolls her eyes, "Fine." She makes the violet glowing net. "Sorry to interrupt your dangling off the side of a building!" She sighs and stuffs a donut in her mouth. She looks to Cassie and swallows down her bit of a donut. "Well, Arguing with Robin the first time I am brought into the tower just seems like areally not so good thing. So I thought I would do this as a way to say sorry." She takes one of the boxes of donuts and floats them over to Cassie. "Help yourself!"

Upon hearing how people have changed, she smiles a little, "I did too." She looks down, "Though, I didn't get the super hot super human physique. I just got the regular human physique. I think anyway." She stands and strikes a little pose.

Amarok has posed:
"If you thought you couldn't improve, you wouldn't be here. And I wouldn't be talking to you." Comes Amarok's voice as he sits up onto his heels, holding a few moments before lowering himself back out. A moment later, he pipes back in, "Robin is an argumenative, arrogant, ungrateful little shit. It's best you found out early on, so you didn't have false hope raised." The first sentence takes on a decidely bitter tone, before quickly being subsumed by the monotone once more in the second sentence.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark opens the box and plucks out a filled donut with lots of frosting. Holding it sideways, she carefully takes a bite while trying to minimize the leakage. For her own part, Cassie ignores Amarok's remarks about herself. "Robin is a teammate..." she begins, then she slowly nods her head. "... but I can't disagree with anything you just said. His mentor wasn't real big on people skills."

Star Shimmer has posed:
"Batman." She smiles, "I've met him a few times. He's actually got a big heart. Is just hidden under a lot of callous and umm... black whatever his suits made out of. He actually helped me when I was kicked out by my parents. This was before I was a Star Sapphire. He put me up in a an Apartment. It was a really not so good time." Nightingale goes quiet and just looks down at her donut. As she does her canopy begins fading letting snow fall through it rather easily.

"Apologies. Things were kinda rough. Anyhoo. Yeah, Robin seems to be rather... full of himself? There isn't much love there. I didn't say anything to him because... Well he seems a little preoccupied with everything else. When I was being tested, I put a field around him and Ultragirl to protect them from bullets. Pretty sure he didn't like that. Then again, My constructs are charged by love so They would put out a nice love feel."

Amarok has posed:
Amarok bobs a few times, then bounces, then flips around, so he's dangling by his legs and staring into the sky, slowly sitting up, locking, then slowly lowering back down, "Ung....You d-ont know the h-alf of it...." Says lowly to Cassie before turning his attention to Autumn, "....The Detective is a good man...In many respects, too good a man. I fear one day we will all suffer for his soft heart." He slowly lowers back over the lip of the roof.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark chuckles softly, stepping closer while working on her donut. "Robin doesn't like any help that he personally didn't ask for." she replies. "So, Autumn, if your power is based on love does it work best on those who can FEEL love?" The blonde looks thoughtful, then. "I'm not sure that Robin even loves himself." she offers after a moment. "I'm not sure if he's ever allowed himelf that."

Star Shimmer has posed:
Autumn smiles and her canopy gets a bit stronger, now keeping the snow out again. "Umm In some aspects yes. And yes he can feel love. He just hides the fact. Though I won't push him with it. Heck I'm keeping my distance from him. Anyhoo, some of my abilities do are affected by the ability of another person to actually feel love. Others, not so much. For instance, My constructs are fueled by my love. I can also project love but if a person is shut off to it or is incapable of feeling it, It won't do much." Nightingale responds. "Also, yeah there is kinda a lot I can do, but I'm still learning in some cases. One such thing is phasing. I can move through objects but it takes a lot of focus and if I don't keep that focus up, I could wind up in a wall or something."

Nightingale finishes off her donut, "I should have grabbed some coffees. I was out flying around last night and didn't even think about it."

Amarok has posed:
Amarok remains silent at this phase, apparently having no interest in talk of wuv, or Damian's capacity for it.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark finishes her donut in fairly short order, nodding while Nightingale describes her limitations. "Everybody has weaknesses, Autumn. That's why we're a team, after all. But in order to be part of the team, we'll need to learn yours and vice-versa. So this is a good first step." Pausing, she looks over at the donut box with open curiosity. "So where'd you find these, anyway? Local?"

Star Shimmer has posed:
Autumn pauses and looks down, "Umm. do you really wanna know about my weaknesses?" She asks curiously. "I will be open about it. Though the canopy may fade away while talking about it because one such thing has me terrified." She takes a deep breath. Then its on to the Donuts, "Oh there is a small shop about two miles from here. I stopped there this morning. I also got some bagels, speaking of..." She fishes out an onion bagel. Then makes a little butter knife construct. She cuts open her bagel and applies cream cheese. "there we go!" She takes a bite out of the onion bagel with a smile.

Kar'ras has posed:
A large orange thing appears on the horizon. It is revealed to be Kar'ras! He lands on the roof and looks to the others. "Greetings friends!" He says as he looks to Autumn. "You are a new friend? Welcome! I am Kar'ras of Tamaran." He says as he looks to the construct she uses to smear cream cheese on the bagel. "You are a lantern?" He asks, seeming wary now.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark finds another glazed, messy donut in the box. It's still early morning on the roof of Titan's Tower, and a few of the team is eating donuts in a light, morning snow. "Morning, Kar'ras. This is Autumn, and she's a purple lantern." Pausing, she looks to Autumn and asks. "Or do you prefer violet?"

Star Shimmer has posed:
She smiles, "Actually we go by Star Sapphires. That is the Corps name." She turns and stands up, giving a polite bow to Kar'ras. "A pleasure to meet you." It will sound to Kar'ras as though she is speaking the native Tamaranean Language. "Yes. I am a Star Sapphire. I wield the violet light of love." She smiles "Don't worry. I'm not going to do anything. I'm am a friend and new recruit."

Kar'ras has posed:
"Tamaran is in the forbidden sector. Lanterns avoid it. Its a shame, because Tamaran once had a green lantern who was pretty powerful. SAhe died fighting in darkseid's arena." Kar'ras says as he watches the lantern, studying her. He then smiles. "If The titans recruited you then you are worthy of being a friend. I shouldnt let my...prejudices color my judgement." He says softly as he looks to the donuts and blehs. "Nasty sugary stuff."

Amarok has posed:
Amarok sits up over the edge of the roof again, "She's a capable support unit. A bit quick to jump to conclusions for my taste, but that can be worked on." He pauses then glances to Autumn, "Dont eat anything he offers you....Ever." Then sinks back under the lip of the roof.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark chuckles and nods in agreement with Amarok. For a change. "Definitely. Tamaranian taste buds are... backwards. So anything that tastes good to him is probably not going to be something you'd enjoy." She gives Amarok a curious look, then, but keeps any further thoughts to herself.

Star Shimmer has posed:
Nightingale smiles and opens the Bagel box. Pulling out a rye bagel she offers it to Kar'ras. "Here you go. Its not sugary. Its actually a little on the tart side. Quite good with the cream cheese actually. Though I prefer the onion ones myself." She giggles a little." She nods, "I've heard. Plus I may have caught sight of a few bottles of Mustard the other day. Unless you all eat a lot of hot dogs, I can only assume that they belong to someone who really likes the stuff." She giggles a little.

Kar'ras has posed:
"My queen, Koriand'r, drinks it. She sometimes shares with me." Kar'ras says as he takes the bagel and tries it with a nervious nibble before slowly taking a larger bite. "So Star sapphires believe in love. Love is a noble emotion. One I never knew much of before coming to earth. Does this mean my love for the titans makes you stronger?" He asks curiously/

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark eats her donut, listening for the most part. "Is that a thing, really? I mean your power feeding off of a general emotion like that. Wasn't really sure how it worked." Not that Cassie's own power needs external sources. "I wonder. Is there a Lantern that is powered by teenage drama? Because THAT would make our teem invincible."

Star Shimmer has posed:
Nightingale shakes her head, "Oh umm. No. My power stems from my own love. In order for a ring to even be drawn you have to have the capacity for great love. Its sorta why I don't realize when I project love." She laughs a little at the mention of Teenage drama. "Oh umm. No sadly. The Lanterns are; Rage, Averice, Fear, Will, Hope, Compassion, and Love. Part of the training I had was learning about them. Plus Libby instructed me about them."

Amarok has posed:
Amarok pipes back in, angrily shouting, "Will is not an emotion!" Apparently, he is a grammar nazi. Who knew? A few moments pass by and he once more speaks, his monotone returned, "Fear? So...It's a weapon that picks cowards?....That's.....Stupid."

Kar'ras has posed:
"No. Yellow lanterns are picked by those who can instill the most fear. I had to fight one once, and he tried to make me afraid of him. It made me more angry." Kar'Ras says as he pops his knuckles. "Anyway the lantern ended up being killed. Forcefields can only prevent someone crushing their skull so much, especially when someone is absorbing the forcefield while crushing." He says calmly.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark leans against something on the roof, nibbling at her second donut. "I suppose anything can be used as a weapon, really." she replies after a bit. "And a capable leader can use an enemy's morale against them, which is sort of like using fear. Even though I've always preferred a more direct approach, I suppose the Lanterns are a more direct embodiment of emotion."

Star Shimmer has posed:
Autumn gives a little smile, "Yellows inspire fear. Sinestro however... Well he's a bit of a douche." She laughs. "He is so skinny because he's too full of himself to eat anything." She laughs a little. "He's a jerk. Anyhoo. As far as Will and the Green's go. I didn't make the rules. I do know they are like the space cops. Being at the center of the color spectrum, they are the easiest rings to control."

Amarok has posed:
Amarok pauses at his next sittup, staring blankly ahead for a few moments before once more monotoning, "....I feel snubbed...." He says before slowly lowering back down.

Kar'ras has posed:
"Vega sector is offlimits to lanterns. I left it once, my master once wanted to see how I would fare against a lantern. When he saw I won, barely, he brought me back to vega sector to hone my skills against the various alien races." He says softly before taking another bite of bagel and watches Autumn. "So You are the star sapphire of earth?" He asks curiously.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark arches a blonde brow, looking over at Amarok. "Is that because you don't have any emotions?" she offers wryly. Finishing her second donut, she folds her arms over her chest. "You're not being snubbed. The Lantersn and Tamaranians have just seen more than we have, is all."

Star Shimmer has posed:
Autumn takes a moment and just sorta looks at the ground. "Cassie, you asked about my weaknesses? Well... If you really wanna know I will tell you." She takes a deep breath letting her decide if she wants to know.

Amarok has posed:
Amarok sits up, flips off Cassie, and slides back down. Cassie is officially accepted amongst the Titans now.

Kar'ras has posed:
Kar'ras nods to Cassie and smirks at Amarok. "Amarok is just eager to be a part of the galactic community: To fight enemies superior to him and win. I know for the longest time I was content being a slave." He says calmly.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark wrinkles her nose at Amarok, responding with a grin. "Autumn, I really don't need to know." she replies. "Just because I can fly and lift a jumbo-jet doesn't mean I don't have weaknesses of my own, after all. Take your time. Tell us when and if you're ready." Towards Kar'ras, then, she adds. "No matter who you are or how powerful you become, there's ALWAYS someone out there who's at least a little bit better."

Star Shimmer has posed:
Autumn blushes, "Sorry. Umm... Okay well... I will tell you one of the biggest weaknesses I have. Not because of umm... Well because of oversharing or anything. Its because its an area that I need help with. I can sorta, lose myself and become something much more dangerous."

She sits back down and grabs a donut. "The Edges of the color spectrum are the most unstable. Red. And Violet. Reds the ring overtakes their physical bodies. It replaces their blood and just destroys them. Their counter is Violet. Sapphires and Blues can heal them." She looks down, "Star Sapphires have no counter in the color spectrum. We aren't weak to other colors. We are weak to our own. Love is a very powerful and very unstable thing. I can, potentially lose myself. If that happens, I will be so obsessed with feeling love that I will do unthinkable things. I will be capable of murdering those I love the most and sealing them in crystal just to preserve them and make sure that they can never leave me. All so I can keep loving them. The scary thing, that will make perfect sense to me." She closes her eyes and focuses hard. What forms is not a normal construct but, a small crystal. It drops into the snow.

Amarok has posed:
Amarok sits up again and stares at Cassie for a bit before speaking, ".......Maybe you dont need me afterall...." He says somewhat off-handedly. He then turns to watch Autumn as she speaks, piping back in a few moments after she's done, ".....Sounds like a useless weapon." And then dips back down to resume his sittups.

Kar'ras has posed:
"I prefer to make friends then enemies...Friends can spar and keep on fighting with without having to worry about killing each other. Plus Earth has some good stuff." He says as he eats the rest of the bagel and he looks to Cassie. "Koriand'r Said she was going to cook today. I am looking forward to trying her food out." He says with a happy smile before turning to Autumn. "If you wish to share weaknesses, then I will share mine as well. This will form a bond between us as we defend each other from enemies." He says solemnly.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark keeps her arms folded and replies softly to Amarok. "Just because you can't personally use it, or don't understand it, doesn't make it a useless weapon." Her gaze shifts to Autumn, then. "It sounds to me, Autumn, like what you really need the most is to practice. You need to learn how to use your ring in controlled situations and test your own limits. Just like learning how to throw a punch."

Star Shimmer has posed:
"Useless?" Autumn seems to take a little offense to that one. "Far from it. A Star Sapphire ring is no different from a firearm. In the wrong hands, bad things happen, In the right hands it can protect an entire planet." She grows brightly, radiating love. "By calling the source of my power useless you are saying that I to am useless." She sighs and her canopy shatters. It goes to crystaline dust and just fades away. Her violet field begins fading out as she just goes quiet.

Amarok has posed:
Amarok continues his sittups, only speaking when he's sat up, pausing mid-word if necessary to not speak out into the air, "A punch or a gun isn't......a parasitic organism that.......can take over your mind.......Be careful how much......you rely on external sources.......Nothing can replace good old.....fashioned human ingenuity..........No offense." The last bit is, obviously, directed at Kar'ras.

Kar'ras has posed:
"None taken." Kar'ras says calmly as he looks to Autumn. "Your powers arent useless. Just different. Different can be a good thing, no matter how scary it may seem. You have friends now to keep you from losing control." Kar'ras says as he moves a hand onto the star sapphire and smiles. "My weakness is relatively simple. An EMP can take out my cybernetics, turning me into an ordinary tamaranean." Kar'ras says softly as he looks to Cassie. "I would welcome any advice in combat that you may give. Not everyone has someone to fall back on for training purposes." Kar'ras says.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark tilts her head, but doesn't offer anything in response to Amarok's comment. To Autumn, however, she simply says. "Just let me know anytime you want to practice. I'll be happy to train with you anytime." Her words are soft and her tone is casual, but there's a lot of confidence in what Cassie says. And not all of it just in herself. "I'm still training with the Amazons, but I'm certainly willing to pass along what I know."

Star Shimmer has posed:
Autumn nods and smiles, "Thank you. Thank you both. Not Amarok over there. He's on my crap list!" She turns and pokes her tongue out in a playful manner. Turning her attention to Kar'ras she gives a smile to him, "Don't worry, Your secret is safe and I look forward to training beside you." Then looking at Cassie, she smiles, "I look forward to that. I know Batwoman was training me before my ring showed up. I want to learn more about fighting without the ring so I can still be of use even when I can't use the ring."

Amarok has posed:
When Autumn turns to stick her tongue out, Amarok is gone, presumably having fallen off the roof.......And there was much rejoicing.

Star Shimmer has posed:
Autumn meanwhile just nibbles at her donut. "What? He didn't want my help!"

Wonder Girl has posed:
Amarok is off the roof? Cassie hasn't known him long, but she knows better. And she doesn't hear any falling-type screams for help. "He's.... complicated." she offers. "Okay, I'd better get inside. Looks like a busy day ahead of me in the gym and the Danger Room."
