Date of Scene: 09 December 2018
Location: New York City
Synopsis: Green Arrow and Yin come to NYC to join the fight against the Hand and meet with Daredevil, Hawkeye (Bishop) and Richard Dragon. Not everything goes as planned.
Cast of Characters: Daredevil, Hawkeye (Bishop), Dragon, Green Arrow, Yin
Tinyplot: Black Sky

Daredevil has posed:
The alley rings with the sound of battle. Daredevil, Hawkeye and Richard Dragon were engaged with a dozen members of the Wing Kong. Hand allies, clad in black and red. Another dozen or so litter the ground, bloody, unconcious but alive.

The fight wasn't going their way, two of the twelve sprint for the mouth of the alley. The other four advance on the heroes, blades gleaming in the cold winter light.

Giving his batons a spin, Daredevil offers them a chance. "Run," he says.

The Wing Kong barely hesitate a second before they charge towards the heroes.

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate, as it happens, is an excellent shot (though her Dustin Hoffman impression *sucks*), and is pretty spiffy with her bow. Six of them. Three arrows nocked (yes, she can do that), leaving two heroes, and three mooks. Odds are one might survive, but are they /really/ willing to take that chance?

Kate remarks sweetly, "Imma count to three, and I'm a lousy counter."

Then dude makes a bad career choice and runs at them, and all bets are off.

Three arrows loosed, and Kate reaches to her quiver for more. Sure, she's showing off, but it's Kate. And she's tired of these guys. Sooner or later they'll get the message, right? Right?

Oh yeah. Never shoot to kill. Maim, or take out a kneecap? You bet. But no killing.

Dragon has posed:
Richard Dragon seemed to not even be trying against these guys. One arm stayed behind his back at all times. Two of these Wing Kong come after him, one receives the fastest crescent kick anyone's ever seen, and the other eats an elbow to the throat, and a powerful palm strike to the chest.

The other two are stared down by teh Grandmaster of Martial Arts. "Kindly run, or I will be forced to take action." He takes one step forward, and they run at him anyway. "Foolishness." He kicks one in the chin, and the other is judo-thrown, a chop to the neck, and all four attackers to him are unconscious. Standing up straight, Richard clasps his hands behind his back, looking to his former student in Daredevil, and Hawkeye...the latter of which, he watches. Was she going to kill? He didn't quite know.

Green Arrow has posed:
It's been a long week for Green Arrow. Having left others behind to keep a lid on the ongoing gang wars in and around the glades, Yin has been taken along with Green Arrow down to Manhatten to scout for the new group that was trying to expand. Reliable intelligence was easy to find up in Starling, with the city networked into the Bunker... but Manhatten? That was a whole other ballgame.

The few informants he'd known about from his global forays had been shaken down for known Defenders/Daredevil sightings, and both Yin and Green Arrow had been patrolling for either Hand or it's allies, or the vigilantes doing their thing. Turns out, they found both.

Down at the end of the alleyway, a high-end motorcycle pulls up to the mouth of it. It takes all of two seconds for Green Arrow to realize what was going on, and reaches to take his compound bow from the holster on his quiver, "time to go to work." A foam arrow is readied and launched just in front of the fleeing fighters, the angle of the arrow just so to grab both their feet and legs, but keep the top half of their bodies open, the foam covering the ground by about 4 more feet behind them, keeping them in place.

"All yours." Green Arrow notes to Yin.

Yin has posed:
Yin slips off of the bike, a figure in a black bodysuit with a red jacket and a full face mask with a yang teardrop over one eye. She takes two fast and long steps up to the foam patch.

Ninja, interrupted.

In a soft Chinese accent, Yin calmly says, "We need to talk. Surrender quietly." She relaxes and drops the tension from her shoulders.

Of course, they do not surrender; one pulls out a weapon and swings it at her, only to find nothing.

Yin steps around in a quick palm change, then calmly hooks the ninja's arm and locks it, shoving the ninja awkwardly and very uncomfortably into the sticky foam.

"I'm going to try this again. We want to talk. Surrender now."

Daredevil has posed:
The fleeing men are stuck in the foam and Yin takes them down without incident, sticking them int he foam. They struggle but one finally says, "I surrender."

In the alley, Dragon drops his opponents quickly. Kate's arrows all find their marks as men rush her. First is hit in the knee the second in an arm, and a third another knee. They all go down the second tripping over the third.

Daredevil closes on the remaining three, striking quickly with his batons. He hits one, then blocks another, kicks him back, then strikes another before rallying and dispatching the third with a flip kick.

Rising from where he lands, he checks the heartbeats of the men in the alley, all living, then he turns his attention to the two new arrivals. "Green Arrow?" he asks, recognizing the man from the tournament. Yin though is a new presence.

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Okay, Kate really isn't bad with counting. And so there were more than 6 (oops?).

She's really not all that bothered by it until those foam arrows hit the scene, because duuuuude who invited Clint to the party anyway? Only, it isn't Clint, it's some other archer honing in on her territory. Girl would be all huffy and mock pouty if it weren't for the fact that he seems to be on their side, and the help is welcomed. She can razz him about politeness later. Or make him buy her a drink. Either/or. She's easy.

Kate continues to provide covering fire so that the remaining mooks can be rounded up.

Dragon has posed:
Richard turns his head to the remaining mooks as her arrows find the mark on all who rush at her. Dragon is impressed with her accuracy. Least he knows she can really use that bow. But, nevertheless, his eyes shift at the name of 'Green Arrow'. Does the name ring a bell?

He recalled havinga student with incredible aim that excelled in archery combat. He was always curious, but never wanted to make the mistake of assumption. "It appears we have allies in every corner." Dragon observes with a gleam of joy in his eyes. Though he does look to the Arrow as he officially arrived on the scene, and gave the fellow a small smile.

Dragon wore no mask, so his identity was pretty easy to discern.

To Daredevil, he says simply. "They are all alive. Though it may be wise for those trained in medicine to see to them relatively soon."

Green Arrow has posed:
Assuming Green Arrow was interested in drinks, at least.

"We need to talk." Comes the demanding voice of Green Arrow. Distorted it may be, but there's no mistaking that tone of a leader used to getting his way under it. He flips the motorcycle into standby mode, and two spurs pop out from the sides of the motorcycle and down onto the ground automatically, keeping it upright and available for an instant getaway.

"My name is Green Arrow. I've been dealing with an ongoing mess in Starling for the last few months, and now a group called the Hand just tried to move in and consolidate control. According to rumor, I think you know of them." Straight to the point. The man in the green hood and domino mask keeps his eyes on Daredevil in the alley. Is he aware of the others? No doubt, since they're right in front... but he doesn't acknowledge them visually yet as he goes in.

Still, he does start to work his way through the downed fighters, tending to their wounds with his own medkit from his backpack without prompting... and he seems to know what he's doing.

Yin has posed:
Yin inclines her head agreeably at Dragon, stepping forward around the foam. "That would be me. Nihao, Laoshi Dragon." She produces a first aid kit from her belt, pointing to the most injured apparently without even looking and moving that way to assist. She presses at a couple of pressure points on them, apparently relieving the pain from their injuries somewhat while simultaneously numbing them so they do not get any combative ideas.

Yin comments, "And I am Yin, also of Starling. It is good to meet you."

Daredevil has posed:
Daredevil is a bit bemused by Green Arrow's directness, and folks tending to the wounded. Here he was just going to call 911 and leave.

Still, he puts his batons away. "Hey," he greets Green Arrow and Yin. "I'm Daredevil, this is Hawkeye and Dragon."

He looks between Yin and Dragon. "Looks like some of you've met already. So, you're saying the Hand is making moves up in Starling now?"

That was bad news, they weren't so much defeating them then as just pushing them elsewhere. "And yeah, you could say I've had a history with them, we all have by this point," he says with nods to his companions.

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate has shown up now, and is doing the whole casual leaning on her bow thing, checking out the new guy and his friend. "Starling. Isn't that up there in Canada? Thought you guys were the polite ones," she grins. "Thanks for the help, but I think we woulda had it all covered."

Totally moot point now - the bad guys are dealt with, and it seems their guests want to talk about their mutual problem. Not that their guests necessarily know how mutal the problem is.

"Nice trick with those arrows," Kate notes of the foam arrows. She merely nods to Yin, giving the girl a friendly smile.

Dragon has posed:
Richard looks to Yin, giving her a kind smile as she approaches and gives him a nod of her head. "Nihao, pengyou Yin." (hello, friend Yin). His nods his head in return,a mutual respect and appreciation for her work of healing.

He recognized that voice, looking to Arrow and nodding at the introduction. A gentle smile touches his face. "It's been quite some time." He says only to Oliver, but he looks disturbed that the Hand were so spread out.

"I see." he goes silent now.

Green Arrow has posed:
Kate gets a glance, and there's a completely neutral stare from him at her words for a moment. An acknowledgment of the woman, but not a greeting. Then, he turns back to Daredevil, "They tried to intimidate a coalition of gang leaders into servitude by blackmail. It might have worked, if we didn't push back at the meeting." Green Arrow walks right up to Daredevil until he's about four feet away, and gestures around the city with his free hand, never taking those eye lenses off him, "there are already plenty of forces at work in this city to keep most of the worst elements in check, so I usually don't need to come down this way... but it's spreading to my city now. Which means they're scurrying away from here and using the Zetaport to branch out and get out from under you. At least, by my estimation."

The other arm goes back to his side, "I could keep putting out brush fires all month, but if they keep coming through, I'm just going to exhaust myself. So, I'm offering my help in keeping them from getting through in the first place." Green Arrow gives finally. Then, finally, he turns his head to glance at the Dragon, and gives a small nod. Fifteen years under the hood and mask have hardened Oliver, it looks like, and he turns his head back to regard Daredevil, "the rest of Team Arrow can keep the back and forth to a minimum, but I consider this issue a priority."

Yin has posed:
Yin tends to the one she dropped the worst. "You are overextending on your swings. Even in practice; it shows in your form and joints. You fought well against overwhelming odds, but you are too easy to evade when you swing outside the effective area of your stance."

Yin nods. "You did; I hadn't expected to find you and these fighters at the same time. These fellows were overmatched. If they knew you were together, I would think their handlers were being wasteful and disrespecting them. Much like the Starling incident; they tried a major takeover. Very much a disruption of the existing order. Overextended." To the Hand ninja, "Does that sound accurate to you?"

Daredevil has posed:
Tossing a smirk back at Kate for the Canada remark, Daredevil gives an amused 'heh' before turning back to face Oliver.

Even though Daredevil can't register the man's expression, the body language gives him all he needs to know. "Reasonable strategy," he allows. "And we could use all the hands we can get in taking to the Hand directly."

He gives a nod to Yin. "Like she said, the Hand has been happy to let us work through their pawns, but they've kept their bigger pieces out of reach. How many on your team?" he asks when Oliver brings up his team.

As to Dragon, he let's tfhe master make reaquaint himself with what he assumes are his former students. Daredevil will ask about that later.

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate quirks a brow at the snub (or so it would seem) from Ollie, and shakes her head. No matter. Girl starts gathering her things, and unstringing her bow. It might be a little early in the game to assume they're not going to be waylaid by any more mooks, but there are an awful lot of them now.

"How about we all don't have this conversation in the alleyway where all the bad guys have just been and might have strays so they're not all aware of our plans, huh? I mean, I know they suck and all, but that might be giving them just a little bit too much of a head start, don't you think?"

She nods to Yin. "We've been noticing that. And that there isn't backup. It's like they're willing to take these losses. Only we haven't been able to ignore these smaller encounters to see what they're hiding, because they're just big enough of a problem that someone has to deal with them. It's been a real nasty cat and mouse game."

Dragon has posed:
Richard has had a LOT of students. he's STILL training a few of them too. But, as he looks to Oliver, who appears to be the hardened badass he always desired to be, he sighs. "Not even a smile? You have become too serious and stoic. You are among friends here." He pats Oliver on the shoulder briefly. "You seem well. Which is good. I pray you will help us against the Hand." he looks to Yin, seemingly approving her of her caring nature.

Though Kate does get a seeming smile. "she has wisdom in her words. I suggest a rooftop or somewhere indoors where we can all speak peacefully."

"and hopefully, undisturbed."

Green Arrow has posed:
"I'm not worried about it. We're discussing what they'll figure out as obvious within the week. But, I'm happy to take this elsewhere to discuss details. Do you have somewhere in mind?" Green Arrow asks of Daredevil.

Then, Dragon pats his shoulder, and he gets a look, "this is new territory for me. New personalities. We'll see how it goes." Green Arrow offers by way of explanation. Is it a good one? Different strokes.

Either way, he turns and starts to head back to the alleyway mouth, "I have a comm network linked to this area, but if you have your own, just give me the frequency and I can tie in."

Yin has posed:
Yin narrows her eyes at Kate's description. "Wasteful. These are highly trained operatives. They deserve better than to be thrown at losing battles as a distraction." To the ninja, "I am sorry you are subject to such an unworthy commander. If there is anything you can tell us, I will do what I can to protect you." She carefully makes sure the first aid on the fallen ninja is done properly.

Daredevil has posed:
Daredevil takes Kate's words to heart. "Good plan," Daredevil says. "All of you follow me, I've got a place nearby."

As for Yin's efforts to heal the ninja he's patched up, but refuses to speak. The threat of the Hand remains too strong.

--

A short time later Daredevil leads them to a building a few blocks over and lets them up the stairs to a gym on the second floor, the place was obviously meant for boxing, but a section of it has been turned into a makeshift headquarters, with a table, chairs, some sleeping bags and a medical kit.

A very, very basic headquarters.

"Make yourself at home, nobody's going to bother us here," Daredevil says as he moves to lean against the ring. He'd taken a few hits in the fight, the suit took most of it but they still stung. Add to that he'd been on his feet most of the day.

"Anyhow, yes, Hawkeye was right, they've been wearing us down with these smaller attacks, like she said, too big to ignore but too small to do any real damage to our real enemy: The Hand," he says. "We need a way past the lower level guys, to see what the Hand is really doing."

"That said, I've got a few leads on the guys we fought tonight the Wing Kong, some big... whatever, they're working on, probably another distraction, but if we can take them out that's one less thing we need to worry about when we get to the Hand."

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate finds herself a perch on the elevated boxing ring, arms threaded over, and resting lightly upon, the corded ropes that denote the ring's space. Back in the alleyway, she didn't make any comment to Green Arrow's assertion that they'd find out soon enough anyway. That might be how they dealt with things in Starling, but here in New York? With problems like the Hand, or the Wing Wong clan? Hell, the Foot, the Neon Dragons.. oh, surely there were a few independants in there, and well, one didn't sit out on the street corner and advertise your plans.

Especially if you wanted to decimate one of those groups - and what Kate knew of Matt was that he had a personal vendetta against them.

Now that they're at Fogwell's, she's interested in hearing what new leads there are, and how they might all come together to deal with things.

Dragon has posed:
Richard doesn't seem to mind that Arrow gives him a bit more of a serious answer than he would've liked. Either way, he just follows along with Daredevil as he leads the way to a place he claims to have. Which, much to his approval, he does!

Not that he doubted his student.

But, Yin is given a pat on her shoulder, a look of approval from the Grandmaster as he smiles. "You have a big heart, young one. It will serve you well in your lifetime. Be certain you do not lose it."

Eyes shift subtly as he takes a seat in a nearby chair, a disciplined manner, sitting upright and attentive. "hm...well done." he compliments Daredevil.

Green Arrow has posed:
The Skybike is once again put up on spurs, and the compound bow is transitioned into a staff and holsters on his quiver-backpack as he walks inside. "Interesting choice." Green Arrow quips. Was that a joke? Probably. Either way, he moves to take a chair and sits down.

"I have plenty of resources to build a network down here. I already have a barebones support network in place. I just need a week or two to expand it.' Green Arrow confirms, "I can get your archer some kits for creating more versatile arrows, if you're interested," he gives a look to Kate "Hawkeye, wasn't it?" Green Arrow offers, before he looks back to Daredevil, "I'm not expecting the problem to be dealt with overnight, but with some leads, we can hit more places at once. Dealing with smaller groups is just keeping them in check. We need to find their staging grounds and resources."

Yin has posed:
Yin bows her head a bit at Dragon, complemented. She looks about the room a bit, taking stock of what equipment is there, and what equipment is not there, assessing the place. To Daredevil, she comments, "Would you like me to work on some of those bruises for you while I'm here? I know a thing or two about healing."

Otherwise, she listens to the discussion of strategy with some interest. She doesn't normally operate at that level, but she appreciates those who do. Those assembled get a quick look over, as she familiarizes herself with them.

Daredevil has posed:
"Thanks, Sifu," Daredevil says of Dragon's compliment.

Daredevil lifts his head at the mentioning of setting up a network down in New York. "Be my guest," he says with an easy smile. "Unlike the guy in Gotham, I'm not territorial."

As for the comments about Hawkeye, he turns his head Kate's way, "She's not really anyone's archer, her kit's up to her."

As to the rest, he nods. "I am going to continue to track down leads on this Wing Kong business, but if the rest of you want to reach out to your contacts and do some digging, I'd appreciate it," he says taking a breath. "We've got a lot to look for, because the way things are looking we're not just dealing with the Hand, but the Foot as well," he says, offering a wry tight smile. "I didn't name them," he adds before carrying on. "Anyhow the main targets we're looking for are Madame Gao, Shredder and Hun. After that, we're looking for the heads of the Wing Kong, one of their last puppet gangs and anyone else they might have under their sway. Few of them are going to talk, but if we take enough of them down we can stop the Hand's ability to operate in both of our cities."

He turns his head to face everyone in the room. "So if you're all willing to help out, you're welcome to join. We'd be happy for the help."

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate snorts at Green Arrow's relegating her to 'Daredevil's Archer'.

"You know, you're not the only game in town. I happen to know which end of a bow is which. You stumble upon a girl at the end of a fight, and you might just find her down her complete kit." Because mooks.

She just shakes her head and chuckles.

"Really not sure how it's like where you're from, but down here, we're all our own people. And members of a team are equal. So if you want to talk about my kit, you talk to me, not Daredevil over there. M'kay? Or Imma gonna start addressing all my thoughts to your girl over there," she nods to Yin. "And not you."

She gives Yin an apologetic inclination of head. "Sorry. You're not his girl, but I hope you know what I mean. Name's Kate, by the way."

She lifts her head and offers that to them all. "I'm kind of what you call an open secret around here. Kate Bishop. Formerly of Hawkeye Investigations. Also Hawkeye. The better Hawkeye, so don't you go listening to that monkey armed Avenger if he tells you any differently."

She says that last with fond amusement. Clearly she knows Clint Barton, and they've got a history of some sort.

As for everyone working together, she was all in.

Dragon has posed:
Richard Dragon looks up to Kate, giving her a smile as she introduces herself. "Confidence is good. Too much can be a downfall, but...I do not think you'll enter that territory quite yet." he stands up to his feet. "To those who do not know me. My name is Richard Dragon, Grandmaster of the Martial Arts." he look specifically to Kate. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Bishop." he takes his seat once more.

To Daredevil, a friendly nod to Daredevil. He's always had great confidence in Matt Murdock.

To Yin, he gives a similar nod, though coupled with a smile.

To Green Arrow, he looks upon as he speaks, shifting his gaze often between him and Daredevil. Hm. They would prboably get along, right?

Green Arrow has posed:
"I run a tight ship. The whole 'all team members are equal' philosophy tends to have everyone tripping over themselves most of the time.. but Manhatten tends to be a chaotic mess, so I'm not surprised it's different here." Green Arrow muses as Kate finishes her say. Then, he looks to Yin, "We know where to come, and what we're looking for. We can get to work." Green Arrow stands and places a flash drive on the table, "contact information as well as the protocols to log into my comm network in this city. I'll get to work on wiring this part of the city." With that, Green Arrow starts to head for the entrance.

"I'll take that as a no for the kits." Green Arrow quips back towards Kate as he leaves.

Yin has posed:
Yin nods to Kate. "Yes, we've met. I was training my disciple at the time. Pleasure to see you again." She shrugs as Arrow starts for the door. "I really do need to talk to you all at some point, after we have finished with what we were working on here. Hao Laoshi Dragon knows the easiest way to contact me, if you want to reach me seperate from Arrow." She bows poltely and moves to follow Arrow.

Daredevil has posed:
"Daredevil," the man in red greets when they do some last minute introductions

Then he nods to Dragon in reply to his own nod.

Kate's words aren't commented on, but then this was her fight, which was sort of the point she was making, she could damn well handle herself.

Then to Oliver, "Well, here we keep things loose, everyone has a voice, but we've all got a common goal. Seems to work pretty well," Daredevil says. "That said, you guys know how to find this place now, and you're welcome to use it whenever you need. Come by another night I can introduce you around to the rest of the team."

Such as they were a team.

"In the meantime stay safe and we'll be in touch soon."

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate gives Green Arrow a long, flat stare.

"There's leading a team, and there's treating members of your team like subordinates who are beneath you. I find people work a lot better if you treat them like they're valuable. Like they're *members* of a *team*, and not chattel. But you do you. As for my kit? You might have taken the hint and asked me, but since you threw it out there, I'm fine thanks. I'd throw my kit up against yours any day of the week, and twice on Sunday."

She smiles at him. "Word of advice, if you're going to be working with us, you might want to remember that word /with/, because we're not your team, and you treat us like that, I've got a short black nurse I want to see you meet, because I'm the polite one."

She settles back, her easy lean on the boxing ring ropes lessened as she sits up straighter, very clearly thinking several words she's not known to say.

Dragon has posed:
Richard seems to chuckle as Kate challenges Arrow and vice versa, before the latter leaves along with Yin. The Grandmaster remains seated, though he still looks quite amused. "I see we will all get along rather nicely after all." It was good seeing so many heroes joining the 'cause' as it were.

He does look to Matt, and he gives a nod. "THen I believe any official feeling to this gathering is concluded." he stands up, and smiles to all present.
