Wag a Tail
Date of Scene: 12 June 2019
Location: Westchester, The Bronx
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Pippi, Alopex

Pippi has posed:
THE BRONX is alive tonight. Some folks are having block parties in nicer, residential parts of the area. There are food trucks and all sorts of good smells, taqueria trucks with their spiciness and even a peirogi truck selling keilbasa and potato-filled ravioli-like goodness. The streets are heavily patrolled by the police right now, making it a relatively quiet night for patrol.

Alopex has posed:
How could someone with a really good sense of smell resist the armoa of so many food trucks? The answer is, they don't. While the excuse for being in the area was to patrol, the truth of the matter was to wander over, get some food, and enjoy a nice quiet night. Up on one roof, Alopex has returned with a box. Within there is a variety of peirogi flavors. Judging by the amount, the box is meant for more than one person.

Pippi has posed:
Pippi hasn't quite mastered the art of 'don't make yourself obvious', on the other hand. She's leaning over the edge of the building, looking at all the trucks below, her tail wagging about a mile a minute. The fur on her head where 'hair' would be has begun to grow out in tight curls by now, and she's taken to carrying the backpack that Cody Garret had given her. As Alopex returns, Pippi sniffs the air, and gives a big smile.

"I think it's nice that they all get out and get to know one another! I mean, they can't smell like we can, but you can see who gets along by the way their faces light up!" she states, and then she snifs, turning and -- !!

    "OH! A box!"

Alopex has posed:
Once she's on the ledge of the building, Alopex grins over at Pippi, "More than just a box," she expalins before popping it open. There's a mountain of peirogis inside, two forks, and all manner of smells coming out. "Something different tonight. Asked for a variety, so I don't know what to expect."

Pippi has posed:
"... ooooooh...." Pippi states, and her eyes go wide. She sniffs. "I smell... a lot of cheese... and sour veggie stuff... and hamburger? But that might be the burger stand..." she states, and then with a hop, she plunks on down next to Alopex, and with a little unfamiliarness she takes up a fork, and very carefully stabs one of the doughy carb-laden goodness in the box!

Alopex has posed:
"I believe that is called sour krout." She's not entirely familiar with -that- word, but she does her best with it. "There can be just about anything inside of them, so one of them may have hamburger in it. Probably a few other things, too," the fox muses before nomming at one herself. "Mm." Pause. "That one had cheese in it."

Pippi has posed:
"Pobaboo!" Pippi replies jovially, her tail wagging as she chomps down on the potato peirogie.

"So-!" she gulps "About the turtles, Pex, how do you know them?" she pauses, and then conspiritally says "They were kinda scary."

Alopex has posed:
The fox takes a moment put her thoughts together by stabbing another bit of food. Once it's taken care of, "While I was with the Foot Clan, we were enemies, unfortunately," she admits as she offers the box over to Pippi to hold. She can rummage around, smell, pick out one that looks interesting if she likes! "We fought a number of times. It's why they are slow to trust me. I .. hope I'm winning them over. It seems like it if they are willing to invite us both into their home."

Pippi has posed:
"But they're good, right? Like Agent Cody?" she questions, poking around with her fork until she manages to find one that looks pleasing, and she plucks it out before handing the box back to Pex. She sniffs at it, then takes a bite. Filled with orange.

    "Hm! Sweet potato, I think?"

Alopex has posed:
The fox takes the fox back with an informal nod/bow before answering Pippi's question, "Mmhmm. They were fighting the good fight long before I ever was. They can be trusted, they just need to learn that we can be trusted. We will be paitent about it, and let them realize this on their own. There's no real way to force such a thing when we've fought before." That said, she glances over, "Mmhmm, looks like it to me." Stab. Nom. "hmm!" well that wasn't one she expected. "Roast beef, apparently. Pretty good."

Pippi has posed:
Pippi continues to eat carefully, to avoid any spillage. The next delicious bit was filled with cheese and potato! A good choice!

"Mmn. I'd never smelled anything like them before, an' they were a bit scary. The blue-masked one's all right, I guess. He seems serious. The red-masked one didn't seem to like us at all." she reflects quietly, and she gives a soft hrmnpble sound. "So is their father like, a giant turtle? Bigger than them?"

Alopex has posed:
The fox gives another nod, "The blue one is like the leader of the four, his name is Leonardo. The red one is a .. bit of a loose cannon. Likes to act on his own, goes by Raphael. The other two are Donatello, in purple, and Michaelangelo, in orange. Don is a more technical sort and Michael is .. well he's energetic and upbeat, to say the least. They are all very skilled. Their teacher is named Splinter. He, like us, is a mutant, but he is a rat, for lack of a better word."

Pippi has posed:
Pippi roots for another one, sniffing at the box to trya nd find another roast beef, and finds one that smells meaty. She plucks it up carefully on her fork and considers a moment.

And then she halts. She purses her lip and then holds up her other hand in a questioning motion, and then purses her lips again.

"Should I ask how a giant rat raised four ninja turtles? Or is the answer 'carefully'?" she inquires, before choming down on a Buffalo Chicken peirogie, and her eyes go wide, the fur ont he back of her neck ruffs up, and she gives a cough, having not expected the spiciness.

Alopex has posed:
Thankfully, Alopex is prepared and offers up a canteen of water. Sure it isn't the best thing for spicy but it's better than nothing, right? "I imagine they all became what they are at about the same time. The common belief is that they didn't mutate in a lab like us. Instead some sort of accident allowed them to mutate in a more natural environment. Not.. sure that's the story but maybe we will find out if they trust us."

Pippi has posed:
Pippi's eyes water, but she waves off the water. She takes another bite, then swallows it all down, and lets her tongue hang out a moment before she gasps out. "It hurts so good!" -- before accepting the canteen, and drinking some of it down. Yeesh!

"Pex why does it hurt so good?!"

Alopex has posed:
"It's something that is put in food sometimes. Sometimes spices are a little too much and they come across as really really hot. Some people really enjoy it, some don't. I'm neutral to it," she admits before stabbing another Pierogie and nomming it. Pause. Longer pause. "... I seem to have found one as well." Yep. That is a spicy thing.

Pippi has posed:
Pippi coughs again, and then gives a thumbs up. "I'm okay!" she states, and leans back, leaning against the edge of the roof. "Hey, Pex?" she inquires. "... would you go back to the way you were if they could 'cure' us?" Pippi inquires, looking up at the sky.

Alopex has posed:
The fox is -trying- to tank the spice but that is one hot buffallo wing. Eventually she reaches out for the canteen and then takes a long, calm drink before capping it and setting it down. "Mm.. While I can see how that seems like a nice thing, my home isn't in Fairbanks to go back to. I would stay how I am, and help who I can, even if it was available. I may have started this life in the wrong way, but I want to make amends for it."

Pippi has posed:
Pippi's ears go back as she holds out the canteen to Alopex, and happily hands it over. She continues to lean back, poking a fork into another cheesy pierogi, and nomfs on it a moment as the fox considers, and speaks.

"So you'd stay the way you are and fight bad guys forever?"

Alopex has posed:
"Mm, well, I'd fight them for now. At some point, I imagine I may become a bit like Splinter. I'd teach people how to fight, to take on the evils of the world, to make allies and to try and pass on the knowledge I have. That is, of course, if people will let me. As I said, I want to make up for my past mistakes, that is atop my list. Once I feel like that's been done? Well, then I may consider what comes later. I prefer to help people, Pippi. I even did when I was just a fox. I think it is a part of me that I fought against while I was in the Foot Clan. That or I thought I was helping, just in a different way.." she trails, considering. It was a something she could think about for a long time. "It's hard to say for sure, right now."

Pippi has posed:
"Huh." Pippi comments quietly, and nomfs the rest of the pierogi.

"So, when you were in the Foot Clan, you fought against yourself 'cause you were sure you weren't sure you were a bad guy? Or..." she narrows her eyes, trying to think it through with her limited understanding. "Nngh. Helping people is good. I like helping people. And people need a lot of help sometimes."

Alopex has posed:
There's a slight laugh from Pex, but it's mostly at herself, "It's complicated, I know. To be honest, Pippi, I like your way of thinking better. Helping people out is better. It may not be easier, but it is absolutley better. There are so many that can't help themselves, so I say we help them for as long as we can, alright?" She reaches over to actually give Pippi a patting and possibly a petting. "I hope you're glad we met. I certainly am."

Pippi has posed:
Pippi gives a short laugh, her ears relaxing as Alopex likely ruffles the tight curls on her head. She closes one eye, the other still open as she gives a toothy grin to Alopex.

"I'm happy we met, Pex! I'd... probably still be living under a van. Or scared of everyone still if I wasn't hanging out with you."

Alopex has posed:
"Good, good," the fox muses, offering the box back over. "I'm done. Have as many as you like and we can save the rest for later if you want," Pex suggests as she settles back, taking in the sights and smells again. It was nice to have a simple night.

Pippi has posed:
    NOMF.

A potato filled pasta pod disappears forever.

Pippi leans back, and she looks back up to the night.

"Are you happy to've met me, Pex?" she questions, urning and looking up to the fox.

Alopex has posed:
The question gets Alopex to look right over, "Of course. I wouldn't have it any other way," Alopex answers, not even a moment's hesitation. "It's nice to have someone to talk to. It's nice to have someone I can rely on in tough situations. It's nice to know I can give someone else the same shoulder they give me, if needed. It just feels right, Pippi. I know I'm repeating myself but I wouldn't have it any other way."

Pippi has posed:
Pippi looks unsure a moment, and she rubs the back of her head. Her ears are a bit red, and her left ear, with the writting and blue tattoo ink, gives a flick.

"Well... that's good... because otherwise I'd probably still be living in the parking garage, and on my last patrol it got knocked down."

She quickly adds: "I didn't do it!"

Alopex has posed:
Blink. "Well, I'm glad I went back to check on you to ask, Pippi. I would have felt awful if I had gone back to a pile of rubble," Alopex admits. "... Heh. I didn't think you did it, either."

Pippi has posed:
Pippi gives a grin, and she looks over. "Thanks for the pasta pods, Pex. Pretty sure they're my favorite thing yet!" she streeetches her arms over the edge.

"Y'know... I think, if I found Nathan, I'd want to go back to the way I was, because that's the way he knew me. But first I'd introduce you so you can see how great he is!"

Alopex has posed:
"And that would be your choice to make, Pippi. I'd be very happy to meet your boy and tell him how good you've been since I found you. I'm sure he'd be proud."

Pippi has posed:
Pippi gives a little smile, and she rubs the back of her neck. "I hope so, Alopex. It's been a while since I've seen him, and I've changed a lot. I hope he recognizes me." Pippi gives a smile, and settles back against the wall, taking a deep breath.

"Thanks for the pasta pods, Pex."
