Look! Over there!
Date of Scene: 04 June 2017
Location: Triskelion, New York
Synopsis: Clayface infiltrates the Triskelion to prove his skills to Fury, unbeknownst to everyone else. Clint gets loose while under the influence of Flatline and chaos ensues
Cast of Characters: Clayface, Hawkeye (Barton), Nick Fury, Melinda May, Black Widow (Romanoff)
Tinyplot: Flatline

Clayface has posed:
Isn't it always just when everything seems to be getting back to normal that everything suddenly goes horribly wrong? Can't there just be one week when nothing explodes, no one attacks, when no terrorists get an itch in their power armored loincloths for conquest? Just one, peaceful weak with nothing going wrong? Is it too much to ask? Yes, when you are an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. it is too much.

The regular maintenance cycle on the back up generators should have been a breeze, it should have been a cakewalk. It should have been something that happened without notice but three minutes ago an internal alarm went off saying that the ship's sensors were detecting a gas leak. Nothing life threatening, at least not right away unless the ships backup generators spark on their regular automated maintenance cycle.

Two minutes ago the deck chief ordered an evacuation and one minute ago the aft engineering compartment became a raging inferno. No one was harmed because of the deck chief's quick thinking.

Teams automatically responded to the fire. Systems were shut down and rerouted, security was dispatched to the scene and extra security was dispatched to the brig.

30 seconds ago a set of five computer virus infiltrated the ship's networks from within causing system disruptions and shutting down the internal security cameras, 26 seconds ago four armed guards got into lift on the way to the brig with an engineer holding a toolbox. 15 seconds ago those four men were left unconscious and the lift was disabled. 10 seconds ago a box of knockout-gas grenades slid into the brig and 5 seconds ago the power was shut down to Clint's cell and the door opened but no one seemed to be there to greet him. Three minutes ago Nick Fury had felt a little pinch behind his eye, he started to get a headache and he wasn't sure why. Maybe he's getting too old for this stuff?

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
The fact of the matter is, things have been horrible the past 24 hours in the SHIELD facility. Fact is: One of their own agents went bonkers, knocked out several agents (who are now in comas in other cells), killed one, and it took lethal force to take Barton down and even that merely stunned him long enough for them to get him INTO the cell.

Now? Melinda May has responsibility over Barton, and the 20 MPs that are stationed in the Brig in the area Clint is in? They have responsibility for both. There is a kill order out on Barton and failing that- May as well. The clock is ticking and there is only an hour left.

Inside the cell, Barton has been pacing like a wild animal. He is only in civilian jeans and despite the hell he wrought across the SHIELD facility, there are no marks on him. His eyes are glassed over and filled wiht rage and pain. The one notable thing is the fact that when he screeches and rages against the field, slamming his fists into it with no recoil from the electric shock that backfires every time he does it. It doesn't phase him. The sound when he screams? A horrible flatlining noise like a medical machine indicating someone's heart has stopped.

The perfect timing of all this? Clint's field goes down when things are disrupted. With most of the MPs now knocked out and its him and May... Guess where the raging creature that is now Barton heads? After the other field Agent at full tilt.

Oh hell yes, things just got interesting. The knockout gas doesn't even phase him.

Nick Fury has posed:
As small alerts about various system failures pop up on the computer screens sitting before him on his desk, Nick Fury exhales through his nose and reaches forward for his phone.

"Agent Newell," Fury says with some fatigue in his voice, "make sure this isn't some sort of IT upgrade hiccup."

Then, he taps a button to contact another agent. "Agent May?" Fury asks. "If you can hear me, then you'd better also have control of your 'cargo'."

He sits back and rubs the top of his head, muttering to himself. "I know I didn't plan any sort of training scenario for today..."

Melinda May has posed:
Aw, hell. This is what May was hoping would NOT happen. But, that is also why she insisted on staying here. She suspected something like this would happen, because it ALWAYS happens. So when the containment field is disrupted, she is instantly ready for a fight. The sash whip in her hands is set to whirling and she can only silently thank Natasha for picking this room to put Barton in. It gives her enough room to move.

"I do," she replies tersely to Fury, which he will probably recognize means that she's having to work at keeping Clint contained. When he charges at her, she dodges to one side and aims to coil one and of the sash whip around his right wrist.

Clayface has posed:
Like a good crew everyone goes into action doing their job. "Damage report: The aft fire is contained. No critical system's loss but backup generators are offline. E.T.R: 2 hours." then a security officer says, "Coms are shotty sir but all decks are reporting in with transponders except for the brig. No response to anyone and I.. think I'm reading power loss but I can't be sure."

One of the bridge officers reports, "Sir, we're detecting multiple viruses from multiple p.o.i. Systems are attempting to compensate but I would suggest rerouting all primary controls away from the secondary subsystems and shutting them down. Someone is attacking the data core. It looks like they are after a file in the threat index hierarchy. Should I isolate all file access to the bridge and minimize the risk of compromise, sir?"

One of the agents in the back calls out, "Can anyone confirm the readings on the ventilation system?" and another agent replies, "Yes, there is a high pressure evacuation being shunted between decks. The ventilation system is pushing air upward from all decks in all vents on one side of the ship then down on the other. It's like someone is trying to increase the air pressure on one side of the ship, but why would someone do that?"

Fury knows why, someone is using the air pressure to knock out the guards on the armory because if you were an unarmed, escaping prisoner, isn't that where you would go first?

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
With the MPs down thanks to the gas, May is on her own to contend with Barton- unless Barton finds another target he wnats to go after. But at the moment? May seems to be the ticket.

As his wrist is captured, he screams that noise at her again, not pulling punches as he tries to jerk the whip towards him to try and pull her closer- going for a punch straight for her face with his left instead. Full strength.

Nick Fury has posed:
Fury pushes himself to his feet and begins walking briskly toward the nearest staircase. "You, you, you," he says, pointing to three different SHIELD agents nearby. "You're with me. Hill has operations oversight."

The SHIELD director reaches for a pulse rifle on a nearby weapons cabinet. "Lock and load, ladies and gentlemen. Someone's trying to make off with Agent Barton, and we're going to prevent that from happening...however it needs to go down."

Then, Fury throws open the stairwell doorway and all but leaps down the steps toward the security level.

Melinda May has posed:
Barton's got at least fifty pounds of pure muscle on her, but May is no slouch. She's had close to twenty four hours to learn to tolerate that noise the archer keeps screeching, so she not fazed by it anymore. When he yanks on the sash whip to pull her closer, there's no way she can stop it, so instead she uses the sudden momentum to her advantage. She turns the sudden pull into a baseball slide past Clint to hopefully avoid that left-handed punch -- she knows he doesn't have a weaker hand -- and yanks on the sash whip as she goes to try and knock him off balance. This really only has one chance of working. He'll know to expect it if she tries it again.

Clayface has posed:
A team of extra bridge security is on it's way up the stairs along with a technician following behind them as Fury and his team passes. The technician is busy looking at a datapad as he follows the guards up to secure the bridge.

Hill orders the data core secured and a lock-down on all jets off the carrier. Who ever this is, they aren't getting off this boat!

One of the bridge officers says, "Ma'am, I've isolated the virus' search parameters. It's searching for all files on something called Project Houdini. I've got it isolated. Whatever they were after, they didn't get it. They seriously underestimated our security protocols." the tech says smirking like he just pwned some noob. "We've still got four more to go." one of the other agents reminds him. The new arrivals take their posts and they start working on the virus attacking the coms and security first.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Got to love impromptu diversions and Barton seems to be doing well enough on that front by pure accident. He's driven by the pure need to .. well.. Put people into comas.

When May yanks on the whip- one thing she may or may not account for is that he is still in full use of his combat tactics and muscle memory. The yank does spin him around, but with her on the ground there is no immediate harsh attack he can bring.

Except to shake off the whip as he regains his bearings. Though the second Fury or anyone else his this floor? He's going gunning for them, straight up at full tilt.

Nick Fury has posed:
As Fury makes his way to the security level, he holds up a hand to his 'ad hoc' squad. "Do NOT fire without my go-ahead. Barton WILL clear the distance before you get a second shot--so we'll need to make this count."

"Yes, sir!" the three respond in unison. With that, they head out into the corridor just outside the containment area where Hawkeye's being held.

"Agent May," Fury says through a comm system in his eyepatch. "I hope you've got everything ironed out in there, because I've got a 'Bow-buster' team ready for entry." He checks his pulse rifle and attempts to glance through the window to assess the situation.

Melinda May has posed:
"One damned minute, sir," is how May replies to Fury. Since Barton shook off the sash whip she has to kick it up another notch, which she was hoping to avoid. She doesn't want to cause the archer any permanent damage. But, as the twenty four hours are nearly up she might not have a choice.

Kicking her feet out to tangle with his, she aims to trip him and knock him flat as she rolls back to her feet, letting the sash whip drop and pulling a pair of Natasha's stunner disks from her vest. They're both flicked at his right arm in an attempt to numb the limb into uselessness.

Clayface has posed:
Maintenance teams re-rout the air-pressure flow manually. Unable to stop it they can at least redirect the pressure to an external vent on the ship. It makes navigation a little less efficient but no one is going to pass out from the blasting air-pressure. "Ma'am, we've got coms re-established to all decks. We've got reports of malfunctions system wide, crew trapped in their quarters, water heaters offline, the lights on C-Deck went out, it's just chaos." Chaos that is a nice distraction for Barton. Then the fourth virus strikes and all the com systems that have been freshly repared and all the displays, including Fury's nifty eye-tech start playing a video on endless loop. https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
With Fury just outside the brig with a full detail ready to blow him to hell, Barton is oblivious. Instead, with the 20 MPs down (by knockout gas, not him), Clint is going toe to toe with the Cavalry at full speed. Yes... someone let out the raging zombie.

Of course- things are going to hell elsewhere in the facility, but it just gave perfect timing for Barton to raise a little hell of his own. When May goes for his feet, he bounces backwards in a vault, landing rather smoothly. He is an agile one. Though just the same, he launches right back at her, throwing himself towards her with a knee out, aimed to drop his weight on her chest if she doesn't move off the floor.

He's out for blood and not pulling punches.

Nick Fury has posed:
"Oh, godDAMNit," Fury groans, the sounds and sights of Rick Astley blaring into his skull. He grabs at his patch and tugs it off, throwing it into his pocket.

"Alright, that's it," he says, staring at his squad with one good eye and one horribly scarred eye socket.

Standing in front of the containment area, Fury takes a deep breath and opens the door, quickly raising his gun to get the archer in his sights.

Behind him, his squad does the same.

"Barton! Stand down NOW! Only chance!" he shouts.

Melinda May has posed:
IT's a good thing May was already moving to roll to her feet, or knee would have landed on her chest. As it is, he clips her with the attack and all she can really do is grimace. Her hip is going to complain about THAT for a while. Oh, and she grabs his left arm in an attempt to aikido throw him to the floor with their combined momentum. She's just having to be extra mindful of his left hand. Annoying. It starting to make her angry. Barton wouldn't like her when she's angry. And Fury stomping in and shouting isn't helping matters, either.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
It's been a pretty rought 24 hours. Well, 23 hours plus. After losing Clint to whatever happened, Natasha went hunting. Someone was going to pay for what was done.

Unfortunately, she had no success. Even consulting friends with magical abilities brought up nothing for a trail on the culprit.

Then she ran into the Winter Soldier. At least that got her back on the SHIELD comms after having goen dark on them. Unfortunately, she didn't succeed in taking him down.

Now she's hurting and angry and ready to kill someone. Which is when she got word of the attack. Her destination? Straight to the containment unit holding her best friend. Her arrival is a moment too late. Or right on time. Depends on the point of view.
"Don't even think about it," she growls at the team with Fury. "Let me in there. I took him down last time. I'll get him back under control."

Clayface has posed:
The technician that passed Fury on the way up to the bridge unplugs his tablet from whatever part of the chaos he was fighting and says, "Permission to check the core integrity in person, Ma'am?" over the blasting music. It's a good idea. Eyes on is always better when your systems are under attack. "Granted." Hill says as the security teams coordinate, the maintenance team works, the I.T. guys try and stop the music so the coms are actually working again and the deck crew put everything on lock down the loan technician heads back down the stairs towards the bowels of the ship. "Ma'am we've got security footage back up." one of the crewmembers say over the blasting music. They pull up the video of the security wing and rewind it to when the box of grenades was kicked into the room. The foot that kicked them into the room looks very familiar, hard not to recognize with the red and gold trim. Iron Man. It's Iron Man trying to break Clint out.

Hill shouts into the coms over the music, "IT'S IRON MAN!! CAN YOU READ ME?! IT'S IRON MAN!!" though Fury might hardly be able to hear her over the noise.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
The timer is running out on that 24 hours... T-Minus 5 minutes...

The fight is hard between Barton and May, and the screaming screech hasn't stopped from the Avenger. Just as May grabs him, there seems to be a moment of clarity. The glaze leaves his eyes and the pain receedes only for a moment. At moment before all the damage he's undergone since he was possessed now suddenly takes hold. Burn scars suddenly show along his back, bruises forming where he's gone full tilt and taken full damage from a hard fight from two rather dangerous Agents. Bruises on his arms, chest, temple... Strikes that would have killed him.

Though as those damages appear, his body simply gives up. He should have been killed three times over in the past 24 hours.

And now? For the third time in the last 24 hours, he faceplants into the ground. Completely unmoving. And if one were to check his pulse- he would register as deceased.

Nick Fury has posed:
Not taking his eye off Barton, Nick Fury grimaces. "Agent Romanov," he says gruffly, "you may have forgotten how this organization works, but you don't get to issue commands to me." He lines up a shot to Hawkeye's kneecap and prepares to squeeze the trigger...

...and then Maria Hill's voice comes in loud and distracting, and Fury fires off his mark, blasting a white-hot scorch mark into the wall behind the maniacal agent--who, even this moment, has dropped to the ground.

Melinda May has posed:
May sees Barton land hard and not move to get up. She knows she didn't throw him THAT hard, but the cudden appearance of all the other injuries she should have sustained recently -- including the marks on his wrist from the sash whip -- tells this might be something different. Snatching up her sash whip again, she quickly moves to try and hog tie the archer before he tries to move again.

"He's down," she tells Fury a bit breathelssly over the annoying music in the comms.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"It wasn't an order. It was a suggestion to them," Natasha says, referring to the brute squad backing him up. "And a request to you." It's about as nice as she can be at the moment. Not that he knows all the details. It isn't like she's been sharing information. Gee, pot meet kettle.

Then Fury takes a shot.

She shoves her way through the rest of the crew backing Fury, forcing her way into the room and finding Clint hogtied on the floor with May standing over him. The scorch mark on the wall from the missed shot. Clint looks like he's been through a blender. Quickly, she crosses to him and when she realizes he hasn't twitched, she reaches out to check his pulse.

Nothing.

She tries the wrist and still nothing.

Slowly she stands, her body relaxed and loose. A sure warning, particularly to May who is close enough to read every nuance of motion.

When she turnes, her face is dead. Just like the man at her feet. She eyes May, the one most likely to have been the cause. With a soft sound, her tonfas fall into her hands from the gauntlets, extending and snapping out to full size as a hum of power comes from them, the blue light glowing within.

Someone is going to pay.

Clayface has posed:
The bridge crew finally gets the com system back under control and everyone takes a breath of relief as Rick finally shuts the hell up. They start giving reports to Hill, "Fire is out, assessing damage. We've started a purge cycle on the security systems so we can unlock the doors on the crew quarters."

The agent working on the environmental problem says, "We've got debris in the vent causing pressure build up. It's not letting the smoke get pumped out. Reinitializing full fan function to clear the airway."

If Nick listens closely he can hear a Fwooomph as something large is dislodged from the ship's ventilation system and ejected into the air like a T-shirt from a game-day merch cannon. Everything seems to be back under control. Things start to return to normal. "No reports of Iron Man, Sir. He must be using some kind of stealth tech." bigger problems right now, wouldn't you say? Perhaps the real person behind this an invisible Tony Stark on board?

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Hogtied and very badly damaged, Clint Barton hasn't moved since he was hogtied. All of his limbs are limp in the tie- no pulse in his veins. For the moment- at least on his end, things have calmed. The raging Barton is down for the count.

But... will it last?

Nick Fury has posed:
Fury puts his patch back on as the Rick Astley noise is silenced. "Copy that," he says before pausing. "Wait. What did we just eject? Someone find that out. Now."

He slowly approaches Barton's hogtied person, his eye on the Black Widow. "Stand down, Agent Romanov. Stand. Down." Fury's trigger discipline is on point, but his brow is furrowed in anticipation of the Widow's actions.

Melinda May has posed:
May clearly didn't want to take any chances. But, Natasha gets there before she can check Barton's vitals and ... oh shit. "Romanov, think about this." The chances of May having finally stopped Clint's clock after everything else he'd shrugged off? Really? But, the woman is clearly distraught, and there might be no reasoning with her. So May very slowly backs away from the man on the floor and pushes to her feet. This is going to be really bad. She can already tell.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
At one time, Natasha was a killer. No remorse. No thoughts. She took her assignments and she carried them out perfectly. Her soul was condemned to the depths of Hell long ago, if she believed in such things anymore. There was no emotion, as though she were dead inside.

She had overcome that. But these last two weeks? The cracks are starting to show.

First meeting the Winter Soldier, one of the very people who created her, who tortured her as a child in the Red Room to make her what she is. He didn't even remember her. Which messed with her mind in ways, when her greatest demon didn't even recognize what she was or acknowledge what he'd done.

Then Clint, taken from her by whatever this entity is. No, he was compromised. But he was alive. With his death, that last part of Natasha has left the building, leaving the Widow in her wake.

She tilts her head at Fury's words, eyes never leaving May. Think. How did May kill him? She'd hit him with her Widow's bite on a lethal setting and he kept moving. Something didn't add up.

She doesn't attack but she doesn't put away her weapons either.

Clayface has posed:
Someone from the bridge gives an order to someone on the deck crew who runs to the edge of the ship. All they see is a flock of birds flying away.. Except... something is wrong with that picture. Taking his binoculars to his eyes the deck hand sees one bird is larger than the others and is carrying a shield datapad.

Looking down at the vent opening mud drips from it like someone opened a sewer drain. "Ma'am." the agent on the bridge says to Hill, "The blockage appears to have been mud but more importantly, I think we have a security breach. Deck reports a flock of birds carrying a shield touch pad towards shore." Hill relays the message to Fury, "Should we pursue the birds, sir?" she asks just thinking this day could not get more strange.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Stranger and stranger...

Birds fly away... And a wash of... ladybugs... comes over Hawkeye. There, and gone again. Though when they have disappated, all of his wounds are gone. Color is back in his skin and he is moving. Grunting. Cussing under his breath as he tries to roll himself halfass onto his side.

Waking up, half naked (In jeans thankyou), and hogtied.. In front of your partner, your boss, and a slew of other Agents. His head is foggy and he has the look of a man who is waking up from a really bad hangover.

"Nat..." He speaks, seeing Natasha ready to murder. He knows that look. There is a haunt in his own. He remembers parts of his fog, but not all of it. His voice is also off on key, sounding strange as he always tries to talk careful without the aids in, but being foggy he's not in complete mind to control the pitch to hide his deafness without his aids.

Nick Fury has posed:
"Birds?" Fury asks, puzzlement on his face. "Birds?" He looks around. "We don't have anyone who mind-controls birds, do we?"

He lowers his gun and then pauses. "Wait. Was that mud in the vent?" After receiving confirmation, Fury nods and sighs. "Alright. Situation 'green'. I'll hold a debriefing shortly."

Looking around at the assembled agents, Fury cocks his head at an angle and offers a mirthless chuckle. "Wouldn't you know it ... a contractor I hired managed to complete a project I'd almost forgotten about entirely."

Melinda May has posed:
When Barton starts to stir and mutter, she looks at him and -- Black Widow be damned -- she steps quickly back over to Clint and kneels at his back, reaching to release the silk restraining his arms. She also quickly taps against his left arm in Morse code, 'slowly westly'.

"Widow, call Natasha back. He's going to be okay." Please step back from that cliff. There's no coming back from that one.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
The voice does it. Natasha's head snaps around as she hears Clint speak her name. May is moving faster than her, getting to him and loosening those bonds.

There is a flash of movement and the tonfas disappear. Natasha falls down on her knees by Clint. She's an open book, her feelings there. Worry, fear, anger, love. She carefully takes his hand. His right one.

Nothing happens.

She begins scanning him, looking for injuries and finding nothing. Come to think of it... She reaches up her hand to her throat where the had been a bruised handprint from her earlier confrontation with Clint. The pain is gone and so is the bruising. She brings the hand down and over, reaching up to touch the archer's cheek. "Clint," She makes sure she's in his line of sight. "Are you okay?"

Clayface has posed:
Now that the ship's systems are back under a relative level of control. Hill focuses on getting everyone unlocked from their quarters and getting the chaos back in order. Green? Green!?! "Yes, sir." she says but she does not sound happy. This is not a green situation. This is a violently, angry, red situation but he's Nick Fury, how can you say no to him?

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Getting free of his bonds, thanks to May, he is carefully watching Natasha. Once the weapons are away and she has stepped back from the ledge, he feels like he can at least breathe again.

Yes- no one pay attention to the two on the floor. Move along.

His hand taken, he doesn't deny the touch, even tilts his head a little into the touch to his cheek. "I'm alright."

He's more of a very confused, muttled and muddy minded book at the moment. He's still trying to open his eyes all the way, in a sense. Sitting up slowly, a brief nod to May, he looks at the others gathered before looking back to Natasha. Okay. So maybe it wasn't all a dream. Regardless, in his daze, he lifts a hand to take the one at his cheek, giving her fingertips a light kiss of reassurance before he releases them and tries to get to his feet.

Nick Fury has posed:
Fury's attention turns to the dazed agent on the floor attempting to stand.

"Agent Barton," he says slowly. "Can we be assured that you're not going to scream like a modem and try to murder us?" The brow over his right eye raises to punctuate his question.

"Hill," Fury says offhandedly through the comms, "make sure to have someone collect every ounce of that mud in the vents. It's going to spend some time in a secure lab. That'll be in the debriefing, too."

He points a finger to the Widow. "Don't think I forgot about your attempt to pull rank, either."

Melinda May has posed:
May reaches to help Clint to his feet, more than professional enough to not even react at the small displays of affection between the two agents. They've both earned a moment to let their guards down without repercussions. But, if they start macking on each other in the middle of the mission, she WILL swat people upside the head. Without hesitation.

"Sir," she addresses Fury, possibly in an attempt to draw his attention away from the couple, "Who is this contractor you mentioned?"

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
As with May and Natasha in the past, loads was just communicated with a few simple motions.

Natasha nods then stands, offering her hand for the other side to help Clint up. Now she's back to business. Her expression is undreadable, green eyes normal for her, not looking like she is going to try and use everyone nearby for target practice. She has questions. Hundreds of them. But with the debriefing that is about to go down, she is sure Clint will have his fill of questions. She doesn't ask one.

At Fury's words, she glances over at him and bites back a smart comment. She crosses her arms. Yet she manages to keep herself quiet, knowing this is not the time or place.

Clayface has posed:
Back on shore, the agent in question, in the form of a nice elderly lady opens the file and reads the instructions. He goes to a payphone and calls a phone number then when the three beeps happens he puts in the code from the file. Then the line goes silent. Not disconnected, just silent. Clayface's voice can be heard over the line, "I'm ready for my oscar." before he hangs up.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Nope. No smoochy face today, May.

Barton accepts the help to his feet, standing at his full height and totally rocking the fact he's just standing there in jeans. "I think I'm over my teenage rager." Not that he remembers most of it, but he remembers enough to know he doesn't blame them for putting him there.

That last bit has him glancing over at Widow with a raised eyebrow as in 'What did you do?'.

Reading the word 'Debriefing' on Fury, he can't help but comment: "Mind if I get dressed first?"

Nick Fury has posed:
Fury shoulders his rifle and puts his hands on his hips. "Several months ago, I hired someone to test SHIELD's security measures. I suppose the recon took longer than initially expected--which is good to hear. But they still made it in--which is obviously BAD."

He scratches at his ear. "You may or may not be surprised at which kinds of lowlifes will accept a job that smells even remotely government-related if the money's good enough."

Fury glances back and forth at the gathered team. "Anyone here ever heard of a criminal set up in Gotham City named Clayface? If not, then I guess you have now. Sure picked a hell of a time to show off his skills..."

Melinda May has posed:
Seriously? That Clayface character chose TODAY to attack? May huffs faintly to herself. Whoever that is, he has piss poor timing. But May is honestly too tired to deal with that right now, so she mentally sets it aside and steps past everyone toward the door. Her mission right now? Get Barton a shirt.

Because.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
Natasha gives a shake of the head at the question from Fury. Not a name she is familiar with but one she is going to research when she gets a chance. Anyone that can get into SHIELD like that, she needs to understand what makes them tick.

The look from Clint is noted but still she holds her tongue. Although he will get the tiniest of movements from her left shoulder. A shrug of sorts as if to say 'I didn't do nothing!' As May moves toward the door, she glances over at Clint. Her gaze shifts over him. Looking for wounds or signs of the trauma he went through.

Yeah, that's what she's doing.

If she could read May's mind? She might stall the woman.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
There are subtle signs that only likely Nat would register. He remembers certain things. Things he really wish he didn't. For the most part it is a foggy blank, but he remembers the murder he comitted. That haunted edge is in his eyes, though he hides it from anyone else.

As May leaves to get him a shirt and things seem to be winding down towards the edge of the oncoming 'debriefing'... Clint glances around.

"So.. any objection if I go bury my head in the sand for a bit and get back to you on that debriefing?" Though one of the great things about being 'deaf' and people realizing it? (If they didn't know already). You can play with it. "Right, great. Thanks, boss." He smiles as if he just lip-read the wrong thing and marches straight through the gathered ranks to go do just that.

Better thing about being deaf? You can't hear people yelling at your back to call you back. Plausible denial. Unless someone throws a shoe.

Good luck with that one.
