Cast of Characters: Blade, Marvel Girl, Kaydin LeGraize

Blade has posed:
Blade is never relaxed. He moves at a quick pace through the park, senses on high alert. He's been ambushed in far more inviting places than this. The cover of night and tree cover conceal his movements. Those sunglasses of his that rarely leave his eyes remain fixed in place. He avoids the lighting as much as he can as to avoid the odd jogger who might be out late. Seeing a well armed man carrying a sword of all things wouldn't likely illicit a favorable reaction. There's still flecks of ashes on his coat, if only a few. He's been hunting tonight.

Marvel Girl has posed:
Speaking of odd joggers. There's no //good// reason for Rachel Grey to be out taking a run in the middle of the night. The sensible place would be in the gym, at the school. Or maybe just, you know, anywhere near Westchester. But sometimes she's just spoiling for a fight. Sometimes she just wants to take a risk. So sometimes, she goes for a jog in the park in the middle of the night.

To be fair, there's a certain sort of peace in it. The city around you is loud and bustling, full of lights and people. But the park is quiet. Relatively dark. As if it had somehow been removed from its own reality. Rachel can identify with that feeling.

In joggers, sneakers, and a tank top, she's keeping a steady pace along the path beneath the trees. She even has headphones in. Sure, she can usually 'hear' anyone coming in her mind before they're a problem, but to anyone watching...

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
Kaydin has been in the park most of the day and now night came. He been bugging a hot dog vendor who usually makes his rounds during the day and he has a bunch of hotdogs. He carries them by the armful and when he see's someone he recognizes he blurs out and appears next to Rachel, keeping in speed with her. He looks to her and closes his eyes and looks like he is thinking real hard on something.

Blade has posed:
Blade smells only humans, or at least that's all he can tell about them at the moment. As such he doesn't think much of the two as he passes, Kaydin and Rachel. They are given barely a glance before he continues on. He is probably a strange sight but he's used to odd looks. He can't always avoid passers-by. He takes a sharp turn and begins to continue on the path, sunglasses veiling his darting eyes. It's then that he catches another scent some distance away and it's getting closer. He pauses, focusing on his hearing, the rushing blur of footsteps careening towards Rachel. With a grin he draws his sword and steps back beneath a tree to wait for his moment to strike. If anyone else is capable of sensing the approaching vampire, it's not being cautious at all, believing that easy prey awaits.

Marvel Girl has posed:
"Good way to end up on your ass," Rachel notes with a smirk as Kaydin's thoughts brush against her mind. "And I don't mean that in the fun way." She doesn't slow down her jogging, leaving it to Kaydin to decide how to keep up with her. As a less familiar sort of mind comes into range, though, her brows furrow slightly.

"The hell is that?" she murmurs, keeping up her pace as she builds a slanting wall of telekinetic force on that side of herself. Not quite enough to cause a complete head-on collision, but anyone running //at// her is likely to careen off of it.

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
"Just an inner desire to love you, Rachel. Surely you would want that." Kaydin says playfully as he keeps her speed. It was relatively easy. When she murmers he looks around at the guy running for them. Kaydin runs infront Rachel to tackle the guy before they reach her. Atleast thats the idea.

Blade has posed:
Blade also reacts. But in this case it is inaction as the other two clearly sense the vampire coming their way. He doesn't sheathe his sword but he doesn't attack either. The vampire careens into the energy field put up by Rachel, hissing and cursing. Kaydin is able to easily tackle him if he decides to follow through with it, causing the fledgling vampire to desperately attempt to claw at his assailant.

Marvel Girl has posed:
"Whoa, it's cool, I've got-" Rachel is ready to wrap the vampire up if needed, but then Kaydin's tackling the thing. Arching a brow, she stands back and crosses her arms over her chest, trying to get a feel for just what the problem is without actually, you know. Touching it.

"I mean, or you can do that. Are you also trying to love them?" she calls over, apparently not too concerned just yet. Probably because she hasn't entirely figured out that it's a vampire yet. Though she's starting to press with her mind, seeking answers.

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
Kaydin grabs the vampire's hands and holds onto him. "Time for a manicure buddy." He says as he tries to force the man's claws down into the ground. While Kaydin is connected to the speedforce, superhuman strength was not one of it's abilities so it is possible he can be overpowered. Still he tries to keep the vampire away from Rachel.

Blade has posed:
The vampire screams and uses all of his strength to resist Kaydin's grappling. While stronger, he's definitely not faster. It's at this point that Blade steps out of the shadows, katana in hand, "Do you have any idea what that THING is? Rip out its' heart or decapitate it unless you've got silver or a stake! If you can't do it then I will! It's a vampire!"

Marvel Girl has posed:
"That's the part I was working on," Rachel notes to Blade in an almost academic tone as she watches Kaydin struggle with the thing. "The figuring out what the thing is, that is. A vampire?" She quirks a brow, looking between Kaydin and Blade. "Hey! Watch out for the teeth!" she calls over to Kaydin before looking back to Blade. "So vampires are real, then."

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
"And me without my crucifix," Kaydin says sarcastically as he now has another thing to worry about. He grunts as he tries to keep overpowering the creature. "Here bite into this for mem." KAydin says as he shoves a hotdog with bun down the creature's throat to avoid being bitten. "Can someone kill this thing before it breaks free and eats me?" He calls to blade.

Blade has posed:
Blade replies, "All TOO real! And a crucifix.." He sprints towards the rabit undead, sword held to the side, "..only works if you've got faith kid.." The vampire's head is rolling after the katana is swung with practiced grace. An explosion of ashes is all that remains of the creature, "Vampires, werewolves, demons.. all real."

Marvel Girl has posed:
"Good to know." Once the vampire's head has been removed, Rachel makes her way over toward Kaydin and the stranger, giving them both a once-over. "Silver, stake, items of faith. Sunlight seems like an obvious one, but how about garlic and fire?" Of course she's on the tactics of it already. Rachel's never met an enemy she didn't need to know how to put down. She does, however, step over to offer Kaydin a hand up from the pile of ash.

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
Kaydin lets go when the creature burns to ashes and was about to get up when Rachel offered her hand and he accepts it. "Met a werewolf the other day. Claimed he was best friends with a vampire hunter and was one. He seemed to be a decent sort." He says calmly as he looks to blade, watching him.

Blade has posed:
Blade corrects, "Religious icons only IF you got faith. I hunt these things I don't have an ounce of it." He sheathes his sword, "Stick to silver and decapitation. Fire works if you have reliable delivery. If it's personal just chain the leech up on top of a skyscraper and wait 'till sunrise. Don't invite them in and don't bother with garlic. And in case you didn't hear me before: Religious icons ONLY if you're religious, devout, not sometimes on Easter or Christmas."

Marvel Girl has posed:
"Yeah, no, I got that part. Not religious. I //do// have a reliable fire delivery system though," Rachel notes, uncrossing her arms enough to snap her fingers and summon a globe of flame above one hand. "Among other things." The fire winks out and she crosses her arms again, poking her foot at the pile of ash. "Convenient of them not to leave any bodies, isn't it?"

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
"Got it, crosses work only if you kick ass for the lord." Kaydin says as he dusts his hands off and he looks to his half eaten hotdog he had lost. "I will remember you always for your duty, sacred hotdog." He says softly and wipes his eyes.

Blade has posed:
Blade adjusts his sunglasses, "If you run into that werewolf again, go in the opposite direction. My advice is cut all ties. Even if they act like they can control themselves, they all lose it on the full moon, and people die. Best way to put em down is a few rounds of silver from a high powered firearm." He looks at Rachel, "Or just light 'em up until they're ash. Vampires don't leave a trace but werewolves do. It's why I don't hunt 'em while theu're human. Killing a big dog isn't a crime." He grins.

Marvel Girl has posed:
"I don't know a lot about vampires, but I do know that there are plenty of folks who read as werewolves that you probably shouldn't try to put down." Rachel settles her hands into her pockets, giving Blade a longer, measuring look. "But I'll keep that advice in mind. Especially on the vampire front," she adds, looking toward the ash once more. "They, uh...just wander around the city at night? Or anything in particular to avoid?"

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
"Anyone can be a vampire. Even this man could be hunting his own kind." Kaydin says as he gestures to blade. "I am still learning about my abilities." He says as he watches Rachel. "I can protect you." He says to her calmly, as if making a promise.

Blade has posed:
Blade responds, "They hunt looking for anyone vulnerable. The ones you usually come across are young and stupid. If it's old and powerful you won't get a glimpse. You'll just be dead unless you're psychic. Either way you've been warned. What you do with it's you're choice. With vampires you're always dealing with a monster but a werewolf is just a ticking time bomb strapped inside of a human meat suit. One day they're gonna kill someone and they're gonna be looking down the barrel of a twelve gauge. Plenty of hunters out there won't think twice about it. Once they've killed it's game over. There's geezers out there who don't even wait for that. If you care about your.. friend. Tell them to move to Alaska."

Marvel Girl has posed:
Rachel looks over to Kaydin with a faint, amused smirk. "Thanks, but I'm pretty good at protecting myself, as it happens. And I am psychic," she adds with a glance to Blade. "How I knew that one was coming. And it was my shield it bounced off of before it got here. So. Good news for me, I guess." Still, she shakes her head at the werewolf talk. "Doesn't sound all that different from how people talk about mutants, does it?"

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
"I will tell him." Kaydin says when his phone rings. "I gotta take this." Kaydin says as he answers it. "I know I am late I am on my way." Kaydin says as he blurs out with blue lightning arcing around people.

Blade has posed:
Blade gives a smirk of his own, "Never claimed I was a saint. Like I said.. not an ounce of faith. But if it makes you feel better, I've never killed anything that hadn't already killed before." He turns to leave, "Mutants can clearly handle themselves. It's the humans I protect."

Marvel Girl has posed:
Rachel raises a hand after Kaydin's departure, though Blade's words give her a moment of pause. "They seem to do a pretty good job of protecting themselves, too," she muses. "But, you know. Can't paint all of them with the same brush, I guess. Nice meeting you, vampire hunter. Best of luck."

Blade has posed:
Blade is soon out of sight without another word. His job here tonight is done and there's probably another vampire out there to kill.
