Profile

Blade's cut ties to his contacts in the Hunter world, running operations on his own. He's taken side-work for some of the worst villains out there and some of the biggest governments too, one day fighting side-by-side with the same people he's assassinating the next. The only thing that matters is if the payday's big enough, and rumor has it he takes payment in everything from blood diamonds to high-end weapons of every type. He's building a nest egg for something, stockpiling money and arms, and not paying much attention to who he pisses off or how bad he pisses them off in the process.

Description:

A tall man of African descent who stands at over six feet tall. He has a powerful physique and a rather grim air about him. The man sports a military style haircut that is longer on the top than the sides, the lower back of his head being completely shaved off. He also wears dark sunglasses which conceal his eyes.

He is wearing a black armored leather chest plate and black leather pants, with black boots. He is also wearing a black trenchcoat which hangs at his sides, clearly revealing his armor. On his hands can be seen black leather gloves.

History

History:

Blade was born Eric Brooks to a prostitute mother and an unknown father in the year 1929, in London, UK. While his mother was in labor a vampire named Deacon Frost posed as a doctor in order to feed on his mother's blood as she gave birth. As a result Deacon Frost's vampiric enzymes casued Eric to be born as a dhampir: Half vampire and half human. He currently possesses none of usual vampire weaknesses except for their thirst for blood, but he was not always a Daywalker, at first being merely tainted by the blood, not fully turned. Deacon was driven away before he could slay Eric, allowing him to be born.

Blade's mother died in childbirth, resulting in him being raised at Madame Vanity's Brothel during his early years. Blade later on happened across a man named Jamal Afari who was being attacked by vampires. Blade jumped into the fight, aiding Jamal in destroying the creatures. Jamal happened to be a vampire hunter and musician. Jamal trained Blade in combat and music, however this positive influence in Blade's life did not prevent him from falling in with the darker elements in society.

He fell in with a gang called the Bloodshadows and even took over the gang after driving away the gang's former leader, even taking Glory, the former leader's girlfriend, as his own. However this life of crime was shortlived as a vampire named Lamia turned Glory into a vampire later on, resulting in Blade killing Lamia. That is where his career as a vampire hunter began.

When Dracula turned Jamal Afari into a vampire, Blade was forced to destroy his former teacher, which only caused him to hate vampires even more. He teamed up with other vampire hunters to hunt down Dracula as well, tracing him to China where they were able to kill him. But Dracula rose again that night, killing his fellow hunters. Blade continued to hunt vampires alone until he met a hunter named Quincy Harker. Quincy helped Blade hunt down Dracula yet again. Dracula was killed but rose again as before.

After that Blade focused on hunting down Deacon Frost, his mother's killer, bringing him to Boston in the USA. He worked with Harker's group for a brief time, however he was quick to abandon them so that he could do things his way. He eventually defeated Frost, however Frost was not truly killed. Blade would continue to consider Dracula his greatest foe over the years, however he was eventually drawn to New Orleans after word that a strange vampire was operating in the city, and who along with another vampire named Ulysses Sojourner, sought to unify all vampires on the east coast of the US. Frost resurfaced during this time, trying to build an undead army. Blade was able to thwart Frost, however the greater threat still remained.

Blade discovered that a Daywalker formula was being developed by the strange vampire who had escaped New Orleans, which would allow vampires to walk in the daylight if they took the serum. This is where Blade was drawn into direct conflict with this vampire, who managed to bite Blade, turning him into the Daywalker he is now, since Blade was not immune to this vampire's unique vampire enzymes. This event is what gave Blade his great powers, possessing all of the powers of a vampire, but none of their weaknesses save the hunger for blood.

Blade still struggles with his hunger for blood to this day, however he has contacts who supply him with a synthetic serum which he injects into his veins instead of feeding on blood. There have been times where has had had to consume blood when the serum was not available, however Blade is resolved never to hunt humans like his full blooded vampire kin. In recent times Blade has cut ties to his hunter contacts, doing mercenary work for criminals, even the worst of villain scum. He is a neutral player in the underworld however, not siding with one group or the other. He also continues to hunt vampires as this is his primary purpose in life. He will not rest until all vampires are dead. However his side jobs allow him to stockpile weapons and money. He is doing things his way

Personality

Personality:

Blade has a no nonsense approach to his profession. Many will see him as being a bit uptight, however he simply sees the world for what it is: A dangerous place. He understands that most people are ignorant to the hostile world around him, an ignorance that he finds inconvenient. He does not ease anyone into this reality should they stumble across him hunting down the creatures of the night. Blade does have a rather subtle, dark sense of humor however, usually at his enemy's expense.

Abilities

Dhampir Strength:
Blade is enough to lift up to six tons, jump two hundred feet into the air, and has been shown being able to easily rip the head off of another vampire with his bare hands.

Durability:
Blade can survive power attacks, even energy attacks without being injured severely, having once tanked a blast by Lilith and walking away with only minor burns and injuries so energy blasts from characters of her power level are a good measure for what he can tank. Beings more powerful than Lilith energy projection-wise will certainly harm him far more. He can soak up to six tons of force without being injured, however sustained attacks at such force will of course start to weaken and injure. Attacks greater than six tons will injure him depending on how powerful the attack. He is especially resistant to blunt attacks which will not harm him much unless delivered by a much stronger opponent such as Dracula. He can be thrown through brick walls and fall from a skyscraper without injury, usually landing on his feet. Piercing attacks are more of a threat to him as they cause him to lose blood, which will weaken him if enough is lost. He can also withstand temperatures as low as -100 F for up to two hours before he starts to freeze, however lower than that will start to freeze his body much, much quicker, similar to someone who is not resistant to such. He can withstand high temperatures up to 400 degrees for up to five hours before the heat begins to get through his durability and he begins to suffer the effects of being cooked alive.

Immortality:
Blade will never die of old age, sickness, or disease.

No Vamp Weaknesses:
Blade has none of the normal vampire weaknesses except for the hunger.

Regeneration:
Blade can heal minor to moderate injuries near instantly. More severe wounds may take minutes to hours depending on severity, however he cannot regenerate lost limbs or organs.

Superhuman Agility:
Blade possesses agility far beyond the human limit, able to jump hundreds of feet into the air, perform inhuman parkour feats, and he always lands on his feet even from great heights.

Superhuman Senses:
Blade's senses far exceed that of a human and are comparable to the senses of a true vampire. He can see objects perfectly at greater distances than humans, up to a quarter mile away, even in total darkness. He also possesses enhanced hearing, able to hear sounds that humans cannot, such as high and low frequencies, and even ordinary sounds can be heard by him at a much greater distance. He is also able to mystically sense the presence of other supernatural beings, however magical defenses or shielding could prevent him from sensing them should such beings take the necessary precautions. He also possesses a powerful sense of smell, able to smell a single individual in a crowd, and track this person by scent alone, much like wolf.

Superhuman Speed:
Blade can move much faster than even the most athletic of humans, able to accelerate his movements to cover short distances in an instant, faster the any human can see. His reflexes are also much faster, able to dodge attacks that a human would not stand a chance at avoiding. The one thing he cannot dodge is a bullet.

Superhuman Stamina:
Blade can exert himself at peak capacity for several hours before he begins to feel fatigue.

Vampirism:

Blade could turn someone else into a vampire via the enzymes in his saliva as any full blooded vampire could, however he would not willingly do this. (This would also require OOC player consent and also staff approval with an approved TP.)

Driving:
Blade is an expert at driving cars and motorcycles. He can easily weave through traffic, evade police, and avoid accidents.

Knowledge:
Blade knows a lot about vampires, werewolves, and demons. While no scholar on the supernatural, he knows enough to kill them, track them, and how to tell if they are in the area many times via investigation.

Languages:
Blade can speak English, German, Romanian, and Japanese.

Marksman:
Blade is an expert at throwing projectile weaponry and using most firearms.

Martial Arts:
Blade has highly advanced training martial arts. His fighting style is a mixture of Hapkido, Karate, Jujitsu, Kung Fu, Capoeira, and Jailhouse Boxing.

Other Weapons:
Blade has training in almost every weapon in existence to varying degrees, especially edged weapons. He can usually pick up a weapon and fight with it, improvising if he does not have access to his favored weapons.

Swordsman:

Blade is a master swordsman, specifically with his katana, however he is also skilled at wielding teakwood daggers.

Contacts:
While Blade is currently not in contact with his fellow hunters, he does have underworld contacts which give him access to jobs, and information. He has bribed people to let him know if they catch wind of anyone looking for him, assuming that his contacts have caught wind of it of course. His contacts also advise him of strange events which could indicate supernatural activity, especially vampire activity, even if said contacts do not know exactly what they saw.

Money:
Blade has amassed millions of dollars over his lifetime, however he does not waste this money on the high life, he uses this money to amass more weapons and equipment. He especially requires this money to obtain his serum so he does not have to drink blood.

Motorcycle:
Blade has a motorcycle that he uses to get around most of the time, preferring the agility of a bike versus a car.

Weapon Arsenal:

Blade has an arsenal of teakwood daggers; adamantium, acid-etched swords, specifically the katana he regularly sheathes behind his back; Kevlar body armor; automatic and semi-automatic firearms which have been modified to fire hollow point garlic-filled silver bullets. He also has access to other specialized weaponry, and has at times used smaller, custom weaponry utilizing silver, garlic, or UV. These are harder to come by and require special deals. His suppliers will no doubt require time to create them. (This is also a good RP hook for characters who can create such things).

Weaknesses

Hunger:
While Blade does not possess most vampire weaknesses, he is required to consume blood or the synthetic serum he regularly injects himself with, otherwise he will fall into a frenzied hunger, causing him to potentially attack the very humans he is trying to protect. If he does not consume blood or serum within a week he will fall into this frenzied hungry. His serum is specialized in that it gives him even more energy than blood. One serum will give him 24 hours of even extended combat before he needs to inject more. If he continues to go without blood or serum for longer than a two to four weeks he could die of hunger depending on his physical state. Obviously if he has been weakened by combat or damaged his ability to survive without blood or serum is lessened, resulting in a more dire need of sustenance.

Innocents:
Blade is not willing to endanger innocent people and like many heroes, can be forced to halt his advance if an innocent is taken as a hostage. The same obviously applies if a loved one, or friend is taken hostage, even as few of those as he has.

Outside the Law:
Blade operates outside the law. He often breaks into places and trespasses where he shouldn't. He is not above breaking many other laws in order to complete his mission, however he will never kill an innocent. On the other hand this disregard for most laws can put him at odds with law enforcement, which can make his job harder should they get involved.

Reputation:

Blade is half vampire and this can cause other hunters and certainly Slayers to view him with suspicion, perhaps even outright hostility if they are not familiar with his work. They will not necessarily take his word for it that he does not view humans as prey, and that he is willing to fight against his own kind for their sake. This can make operations difficult if he is working with other hunters or heroes.
