Location:	Rec Room - Xavier's School
Synopsis:	Overwhelmed by the recent charity gala event, Shannon has to decompress, talking things out with Sam.

Nightingale has posed:
     While she had begun to become more outgoing with time, there were limits to even Shannon's tolerance for major social situations, and it seems that limit had been it. She's still in her black formal evening gown as she flops down onto a beanbag chair with a soft -thump-, looking rather dazed and only present in body. Her mind, however, seems out to lunch.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie has come into the room, and looks over a brow raises and then remembers the gala "Hey did you have fun Shannon Bannanon... Hmmmm that does not work." He will get himself a drink and her a root beer.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon looks up, and perhaps 'shell-shocked' would be an apt term for the expression on her face. "Hi..." The root beer is accepted but she just curls her hands around the glass. "Define fun...?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie hmms and says "Something you would want to do again." He looks her over and says "Something wrong Shannon?"

Nightingale has posed:
     "Then that was probably not the most fun thing in the world." Shannon cracks open the root beer, taking a good healthy swig of the sweet stuff. "Two words. Freight train. I have -never- been to anything quite like that."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie 's brow stays raised and says "Ok, your going to have to fill me in a bit more than that, thats not really helping me understanding it

Nightingale has posed:
     "How do people stand events like that? You don't really know anybody, it's crowded as hell, and it feels like being under a microscope." She shivers a little bit. "And on top of that, a handshake can go really wrong really fast, and you have zero clue what to do because you don't exactly care to piss off the Atlanteans."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Atlanteans? " He hmms and says "Well never felt real at home at fancy balls and such, but always tried to treat folks with respect and show them the way Ah would want folks to treat me."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods. "Atlanteans. Their princess and her guards, at that." She has another healthy draw of the soda, glad for the moment that she can't drink anything stronger. "And that's what I did. Sounded like one of her guards was coughing pretty good so I just asked them if they were okay. They introduced themselves and well, the handshake kind of lasted. And lasted. And lasted. It was pretty embarrassing... and confusing. I didn't want to start an incident by offending them by trying to get away." She sighs a little, wrapping her wings around herself. "Mostly it was pretty lonely. Weird. Room full of strangers, and I'd have given anything to see a familiar face or two."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie hmms and says "Namorita was there, dang, Ah wish I had went, but she had guards? Thats funny wager she could kick her guards butts honestly

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon shakes her head. "No. Mera, I think the name was. I didn't see Namorita there." She seems even more deflated somehow, when the other girl is mentioned, but she doesn't say much. "So ummm, do you like her, then?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Ahs and nods his head a bit to this and says "The other Atlantis, ok. Well still Ah am sure you didn't do anything wrong, didn't make fish faces or talk like Dora from finding nemo right?""

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon shakes her head, starting to come out of it a little. "I was more concerned about making sure that the guard was okay, and then trying not to piss anyone off, than even thinking about that." Her wings unfurl a little bit, and she looks up at him. "Kind of wish you'd been there."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Na, you would have been even bored watching me be bored, and this was more something for you and josh with the whole hospital thing. You will need t know this type of stuff if you end up becoming a doctor, trying to get hospital funding and such"

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon smiles a little bit. "At least we would have been bored together." She rolls her eyes a little bit, and shakes her head. "Got a real long way to go before even thinking about becoming a doctor, or anything else."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Yes, but if you can learn skills today that will help you in the future it is much better to learn it now than wait till your needing it and not having it. You can do it you just need comfidence in yourself."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods slowly. "So in other words... get ready to go through all that all over again next time an event like that comes up." She purses her lips slightly. "I don't think I like that part of medicine one damn bit."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smirks a bit and says "Well ah would offer advice on that but to be honest Berto is more the guy to talk to when your needing to know the more propper ettiqute for rich folks and such

Nightingale has posed:
     "Think I like your way of things a whole lot better. Straight shooter, no fuss, no muss, tell it like it is." Shannon blushes a little bit, biting her lower lip to forestall saying anything else for the time being.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie chuckles a bit and says "Yea, but think about it this way, if was not for the fact that ah have a very rich friend, Ah would either be delivering pizza, or maybe a bouncer at a club for a job. Learning this type of things is a good thing

Nightingale has posed:
     "And those jobs are a bad thing because...?" Shannon peers over at him with eyebrows raised. "Anyways, anybody with an ounce of sense would care about -you-, not who your friends are or whatever job you have."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Cause they do not pay well, and if your trying to help take care of friends or family you might not be able to make enough money. And tell me, which do you think is more important job, Pizza delivery guy, doctor, bouncer, or teacher?

Nightingale has posed:
     "They all are. Pizza delivery well, everyone's got to eat but they might not have the time or the means to cook. Doctor, well, that one's pretty obvious. Bouncer puts themselves in harm's way if someone's causing trouble at an event and send them on their way. Teacher, well... how could that be anything but important? Someone's got to pass on knowledge to the ones who come after them." Shannon smiles a little bit. "What kind of question is that?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "See, AH disagree, Ah have been a few of those, and if your wanting to be a pizza delivery guy or a bouncer and your happy with it, thats good, and have friends who are both. A teacher and a doctor are more important as they help more people, and to do both of them right you have to work longer and harder to be good at both of them. To be a really good bouncer you have to put work in on it to, but often once you put the effort in it your more than just a bouncer, more a body guard then. What I am saying though is if your wanting to do something that helps people and important, the more you want to help the more you have to work on learning and improve yourself.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods and sighs a little, rubbing her temples slowly. "So pretty much, the only way to get any better at events like that, is to put myself through them." She smiles some, turning a bit red. "Still wish you had been there."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "Well, I will be here to at least talk to you afterwards and let you have someone to decompress to, but I need to go. He stands and as he walks by he will reach over and ruffle her hair a bit teasingly on his way out.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon smiles some and, on impulse, just reaches up to hold his hand for a second, squeezing it gently. "Thanks."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will give her hand a squeeze in return "You will be good Shannon."
