When do you call for help
Date of Scene: 17 September 2019
Location: Sam's Room (West Halls), Xavier's School
Synopsis: Sam and Shannon work out a lot of answers, swap some stories, and find a way for her to move forward.
Cast of Characters: Nightingale, Cannonball

Nightingale has posed:
A familiar face peeks in the door, with a bit of a smile on the youthful face. Shannon flutters a wing at Sam, a few feathers missing from last night's danger room session, but a much more calm teen for the workout. "Hey... had a lot on my mind from last night's situation with Blurr... got a second?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie is sitting at his desk going over some paper work. He turned to see who it was as he called out come in. His brow raises a bit not having expected it to be Shannon but does not seem upset. "Come in in have a seat, tell me what's on your mind.' He will close the folder of the stuff he was working on and turns to give her his full attention.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods, and slips inside, closing the door. "Sorry for barging in on you like this, but the last thing I wanted is this getting out to the rest of the school and maybe panicking some of the younger students." She flops down in one of the recliners, keeping her wings spread for a bit of comfort. "It sounded like this has the potential to blow up real easy. Is it something we're going to be able to handle on our own? Who but us knows, and where/when do we tell staff if at all? This is... new territory, kind of flying blind on this one."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Well thats why I asked Doug to write up a report, when he gets it done, then all of the teachers should know about it and be in on whats going on."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods, and seems to think for a minute. "I guess a lot of this is learning to trust everyone else here, too. I still don't know a lot of them really well." She nibbles her lower lip, leaning back a bit. "Is this something we'd have to call in help on, or are we going to be alright? How do you even know when it's time for something like that?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Well if it turns out that they are actually coming then we would be calling in everyone we can and make it a world wild call for ass kicking probably." He offers her a smile and says "When our records go in pretty sure word will get to both the Avengers and the Justice League will be able to make it."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods. "Maybe I'm just worrying over nothing. Again. Just... I do take this stuff seriously. And you were right, at least we've got some warning. But will it be enough?" She frowns a little bit. "What are these Cybertronians like? You and Doug know more about them than I do. If the shit hits the fan, what will we be looking at here? Is there any way to train for something like that?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Well like Ah said only have met two of them, and Blurr is the first. The other one was Megatron, and he came off as a bit of a warlord, and was going to help, but as of late we have not heard from him, don't know what happened there. The two seemed to be of different sides on their people though."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods. "Not so sure dealing with a warlord is a good idea. Just the thought of that gives me a really bad feeling." She ruffles her wings a bit, and tries to straighten out some of the feathers to hide the gaps in between a few. "So what do we do from here, or is it just a waiting game at this point? Don't know about you..." She laughs a little bit, and shakes her head. "...but I'm really bad at those."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "Pretty much still try to stop the sentinels but waiting and watching yea. We did not have a lot of choice on dealing with him, came about from us trying to help some folks. This is one unless we take to space and try finding this guy not a lot we can do, and going out there looking for him might be what would alert him about us.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods, and steeples her hands in front of her face for a moment. "Guess I see a lot of training ahead, then. It's either that or go nuts worrying. And that's not going to help anybody." She sighs a little, and tries to smile some. "So what to do about the alleged jokester? I haven't seen hide or hair of him since."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smirks a bit and says "So, your still stressing over him?" He will ask her a bit and says "How about just trying to do whats right and proving your kick ass?

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon shakes her head. "No, that's just it. I'm trying to -not- stress over him. If I just let it stew, though, it's not going to be a good thing. Do you think it's worth talking things out with him, or just leave it alone?" Her eyebrows go up a little bit. "Ha, me, kick ass? Still got a long way to go before I'm even half as good as you or anyone else here."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie hmmms and says "Perhaps, I am not sure to be honest, it might help out some but as long as you listen when your on a mission with him I doubt he would ever mention it again

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods, and smiles a little. "I just don't want things so damn tense when we're -not- on missions, though. Or even when we are. That'll get people killed." She rolls her eyes a bit. "Guess you could say, just want to find a way to... chill out?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "well, I will be honest, I thought your backing might be part of how you were doing it. You need to find a way to be in the moment, maybe if you worry about what might happen your going to do nothing but worry

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods slowly. "Maybe he and I might have to agree to disagree. There -were- no other wounded that day, thank god. But maybe he didn't see that. From my vantage point, I could." She shrugs a little. "So, a jokester, huh? Heh, maybe April Fool's Day will have to arrive a little bit early." Uh-oh.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "I back the call he made in the field Shannon. Even if the guy was alive, Pixie was better suited to help him than you."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon pins Sam with a look that, if it were in April, should worry him. There is a mischievous glint in her eyes, and a smile spreads slowly across her face. She just chuckles, softly, and says nothing for the moment. Double uh-oh.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "Remember he is staff, and a teacher here. But do you agree it made more sense for Pixie to go to him?"

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods. "I can get that. What doesn't make sense is what the heck was I supposed to do, then? I know, stupid question. There was no need for a healer, thank god, but still, not going to just twiddle my thumbs out there."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Be ready if needed, if he had been alive and you healed him, you were out of the fight, where if Pixie is there, with him you there to help the other people make sure none get crushed, if someone falls scoop them up and help get them out of there"

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods. "I don't know if I can carry someone like that yet. It's been getting better, but not sure if it's quite there just yet." She shrugs and smiles some. "Guess the best thing to do is corner him for a cup of coffee and a chat, start things fresh without all the other BS."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "nods and says "Might work, and as I told him, you had not really started your team training then."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon smiles some. "Then that's what I'll have to do. Could use a good cuppa anyways." She glances around the room, and can't help looking at the armor. Or, more like staring. "Holy crow. You really weren't pulling my leg about that, were you?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Draven made, but turned back to normal steel when we left. You can look at it closer and touch it if you want.""

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods and gets up, moving a little closer to the armor stand. She does run her fingers lightly over the armor and smiles. "Well, normal steel or not, it's still incredible. You don't see workmanship like that very often."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie chuckles a bit and says "Well not a whole lot of king of the dwarves out there. He does good work, and is fast but does not mass produce." He teases a bit to this, and says "The sword used to have an interesting enchantment it would not harm flesh. But would cut through pretty much anything else.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods, and smiles some. "Too bad something like that wouldn't work here." Glancing down at the bag she keeps tied on her belt, she runs her fingers across the runes stamped into the worn brown leather. "Did this have a story behind it as well?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "It was given to me by Kindra, Etri's daughter, she did not tell me of any enchantment but she made them for me herself. She wanted to give me her blessing to carry into the fight with me." He hmmms a bit thinking a moment on that."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods, and smiles. "She did a really good job. Wonder what she'd think, to see the use it's being put to now." She moves over and gives Sam a great big hug, as if trying to hug the stuffings out of him. It seems some of her strength training has been doing some good, there's definitely an improvement from her initial arrival at the school.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie chuckles and hugs her back a bit and says "Ah think she would be happy it is being used. Ah sorta wish Ah could use the armor more, but not really a lot of use for it.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods, and smiles. "But it's something precious to you all the same. I like hearing the stories behind all these things." She glances towards the paperwork, and rolls her eyes. "The definitely not-so-glamourous side of things. Need a hand with any of that?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Appreciate but there is some stuff in there you can't see. It aint that I want to hide things but each person's personal info are in there."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods, and grins a little bit lopsidedly. "Gotcha. You could show me, but then you'd have to kill me." She actually laughs a little bit and steps back, just shaking her head. She rolls her shoulders slightly. "I love going out in the field and helping... but let me know when you need help here too, okay?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Ah will keep it in mind Ah used to get Doug to help but he is busy with the corp now. The club has helped me a bit though got used to keeping all the paperwork there for things. So what have you done today?"

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon shrugs slightly. "Bit of this, bit of that. Classwork. Tried going to James' social studies class. Don't know why he thinks that the kids in that class are there because they have to be. Not sure if he's considered the possibility that maybe some of them just like the challenge."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Proudstat? he will ask when she says James. I should probably see if he wants to hang out some and such. "Want to head down towards the danger room?" He will ask her"

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods and smiles. "Sounds like a good idea. What are you going to throw at me this time?" She cracks her knuckles a bit, apparently relishing the training.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and just whistles innocently, and leads you out. "Oh you will find out."
