Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Indigo, 171, Jade

Indigo has posed:
The Wagner Mars Base, a joint EU effort to create a permanent outpost on the southern pole of Mars to serve as an advance warning system for galactic threats, was eventually phased out over the years as individual American entrepreneurs came to dominate that aspect of the space race, with their JLA Watchtowers and Alpha Flight space statations and whatnot. The EU wasn't happy about it, but they were less happy about continuing to spend money on an obsolete first line of defense. They pulled up stakes years ago, and since then the station has been dark.
That's why Indigo brought a flashlight. There's nothing in the station worth salvaging, as far as she knows, but the trip to Mars involved an inpromptu combat training session, and during some of her hardward reconfigurations, she got copious amounts of red dust in her systems. It's nothing dangerous, but her programming recognizes the infiltration as a severe irritation; the digital equivalent of a bad itch. She retreated to the Wagner Mars Base to access their water pumps to wash her innards out.

Phyla-Vell (171) has posed:
Phyla had caught word that some of the Guardians had made their way to Mars, and having been away for sometime, she's decided to meet up with whoever she can and thus, finds herself on the southern pole standing outside of a mostly abandoned early warning, observance, and research facility with her cloak hood up to protect her face and skin from the rough sand wiped winds of the barren planet.

Dragging her sword through the dirt in her left hand and holding her right up across her face, she presses the button on the exterior of the facility and steps into the airlock which, decompresses as she waits for it to cycle and pressurize the chamber for oxygen breathing beings, of which she is not, but she steps inside and calls out. "Hello? Guardians?" into an empty room, and several other offshoot chambers her voice can be heard echoing.

Jade has posed:
Jade had been feeling a bit antsy, and had decided that a good flight was in order. Granted, she was staying near Earth still, due to her upcoming meetings and interviews to get into the Justice League, but that didn't mean the ring couldn't take here around the Milky Way a little bit.
Green fire lashes about her frame, flames roiling off her without smoke or heat to accompany instead of what might be a Lantern-like glow. And it's in oen of her sweeps of Mars that her eyes catch the activity in what otherwise should be an empty station. "Scavengers? Or, something worse. Time to check it out," she tells herself, sweeping in lower, and allowing herself to hover over the ground as she moves in to investigate, herself.

Indigo has posed:
The machines are churning along sluggishly. Not all is silence in the halls of the dead. Some of the ghosts are noisy; ancient specters being revived by the terrible necromancy of... a gynoid plugging one of her many body batteries into the pump to heat the frozen water in Mars's depths to make the pumps work again.
Indigo is not a superstitious sort.
"Phyla-Vell?" she calls, the perpetual electronic hum of her voice-speakers rising with her volume. "I'm in what's left of the biosphere, trying to get the pumps working. Can you read English? If so, just follow the signs."

Phyla-Vell (171) has posed:
Phyla steps deeper into the cavernous room and looks around, the flickering lights playing off the space suits that were left here, never to be used again, sending a small chill down her spine. Not that she's afraid of anything in the building, but more shoved face to face with the reality that all things end, many before they're purpose is fulfilled or worse.

Phyla's head lifts at Indigo's voice and she looks over at the wall and the strange characters on it, blinking a few times and without understanding coming to her readily she responds with a raised voice, "No, it's nothing like common." She says, with a sigh before adding. "Just keep talking and I'll make my way to the sound of your voice."

The half titan has no idea there's a lantern coming so close to the station either.

Jade has posed:
The green light of the magical fire that empowers Jade, and is presently encompassing her body is another light that, in the darkness, will give Jade away well before her physical form comes into the area. She does not seem too concerned, at present. Afterall, there was no ship. There doesn't seem to be a mass amount of people. It's clearly a small operation and she isn't certain there's any danger.
Still, she doesn't call out either, just yet. But she does begin to hear the echoes of the conversation going on, and that gives her, too, a good heading of where to go.

Indigo has posed:
"The first letter in the word you're looking for is difficult to describe," Indigo obliges. "The second one is a straight, horizontal line, and the third is a circle. In English, letters are contiguous, so any break between symbols indicates a new letter. I mention these things in case you get lost, and to have a subject of discussion while I speak to try to lead you to me. Is it working yet?"
Whoever stumble across Indigo will discover the gynoid in a perhaps horrific state. Until you get to her elbows, she looks like a basically human person, save for her coloration. Below the elbows, the metal microfiber cables that make her arms have separated and splayed out into a dozen tentacles that undulate with techno-organic senselessness; one arm is hooked into a console to power it, and the other is just... writhing, trying to get the dust out.

Phyla-Vell (171) has posed:
Phyla's sword is still held in her left hand, the tip scraping the floor of the facility as she walks. "If it's hard to describe is it's only description, THAT DOESN'T HELP ME!" Phyla says, her right hand moving to her hood and ripping it off her short white hair as she screams a bit louder, frustrated. Not at Indigo, but the cyber-woman might seem to recall that is her default emotion. She does sound like she's getting closer.

Jade has posed:
The green light, in it's own way -like- a literal lantern by the way it reflects off the walls, the shadows playing even as the fire of her magical energies slowly churns about her person.
And now the light is coming up behind Phyla, to the point where the other woman would clearly know that something is coming. And then Jade comes into view, toes pointed down, hands at either side in a peaceful enough manner. Like, and unlike one of the Lantern Corps.
"Trouble?" She asks, peaceably enough. There is no measure of confrontation in her, yet. She's caught the last few snippets of conversation and has summarized that these indeed might be scavengers, or worse, people left to fend for themselves, lost travelers.

Indigo has posed:
"Alright, the letter B, the first letter in the word 'biosphere,' is drawn as a straight, vertical line on the outermost left side, with two half-circles, one atop the other, connecting to the left border," Indigo continues obliviously. Without a raised voice, she can't really hear anyone from where she is. "If you follow the signs, don't forget what I said about the second and third letters, as the letter B may be the first letter in several words you see. Have you ever defused a bomb by receiving instructions via audio connection only? I think the experience is probably similar to this."

Phyla-Vell (171) has posed:
"I've never done any of that! Oh wait, is this a B? It looks like a butt." Phyla says bluntly and then squints her eyes at the next letter. "You said the second letter was a circle r-" YELP!

Phyla turns to face Jade the large, ornate golden sword is leveled with both hands on the hilt, Phyla aims the point of the lengthy blade at Jade's neck. "Who are you?" She demands, "This place is supposed to be abandoned." Not really sure who she's saying that to, but she says it either way.

Jade has posed:
The flame around Jade intensifies, but nothing else seems to happen in reaction to Phyla's turn of the blade towards her. She clearly doesn't recognize Phyla, but makes no move herself to confront the other woman. "Exactly. It's supposed to be abandoned. So what are you doing here?" As if she had the authority to ask that particular question. Still, the question is far more gentle, than accusatory.
There's the slightest of pauses, "You, and your partner, are you the only two? Or are there others, also?" Again, more curious, than accusatory or suspicious.

Indigo has posed:
"Is everything okay?" Indigo calls back, immediately concerned, but canny enough not to use Phyla-Vell's name. Her ports begin divesting themselves from the console's power adapter, and Indigo runs out toward Phyla-Vell's likeliest location based on her point of entrance and the amount of time spent in transit. Her arms are reluctant to weave themselves back together--the red dust is so pervasive!--but Indigo firmly forces them to obey and shuts off notifications about the contaminants to avoid distraction as she rounds the corner, microfibers knitting themselves back into fingers as she stumbles across the source of green light.
"Is everything okay here?" she asks cautiously.

Phyla-Vell (171) has posed:
"I'm here catching up with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Mighta heard of 'em." Phy says, her blade still held strong and sure between her and this unknown glowing green lady. Hearing the footsteps of Indigo approaching fast, Phyla squints her eyes at Jade, the golden streak down her face, glistening in the flickering fluorescents.

Quasar responds without turning her head, "I'm fine, but this green pirate wants to know why we're here and, and how many of us are there." Expecting her friend to answer for her, because she has no clue honestly.

Jade has posed:
"I'm Jade. And I am most certainly not a pirate." The green-skinned woman, who might (even if she doesn't look like) bring Gamora to mind if only for that reason. "I'm an ally of the Lantern Corps of this sector. I wasn't sure if pirates were using this for a base, or if someone had been stranded, or if you were scavengers."
Her green eyes flicker over towards Indigo, clearly believing that the android is the leader of this small group. "Is everything alright?"

Indigo has posed:
Indigo smiles at Jade. She's nothing if not friendly. "Everything's fine, thank you, Jade. I'm Indigo." She doesn't introduce Phyla-Vell; let that be Quasar's choice. "We were just on the surface, and a dust storm contaminated my hardware. We came here for water to rinse my systems out with."

Phyla-Vell (171) has posed:
Phyla finally lowers her sword, the tip striking the floor casually as there's no fight to be had her, she seems almost disappointed. "What's the Lantern Corps?" The half titan asks towards Indigo out of the corner of her mouth while still facing Jade.

After a pause those she looks Jade up and down and gives her own name, one name, a code name, out of many. "I'm Quasar." She says, her tone a bit lighter now that Indigo is here and she really knows what's going on.

Jade has posed:
"The Lantern Corps uphold Justice within the galaxy, by the power of the Guardians of the Universe," Jade summarizes, placidly. "Dust storms can be pretty harsh," she agrees back to Indigo. "Indigo, Quasar. A pleasure to meet you both. Do you have transportation? I can take you to Earth, if you need further assistance," she offers, helpfully. Another one of her warm, gentle smiles. "Always glad to help."

Indigo has posed:
Indigo elaborates on Jade's thoughts in a pleasant tone of voice, "The Guardians of the Universe, as the name implies, consider all things in this universe to be a part of their protectorate. This attitude has led to some political friction with more xenophobic elements of the universe as people question the validity of being claimed as part of a protectorate they never consented to, but the Guardians have avoided the worst dissent by making no political or procedural demands of any government and acting only as a police force. I've occasionally wanted to ask Star-Lord what he thinks about their name, but the subject has never come up."
Oh, look, the gynoid likes to pontificate! How original!
But the conversation moves on. "Thank you, Jade, but I think we're both fine. Quasar and I are both capable of space travel, and we have friends waiting for us outside of this solar system. But if you don't mind me asking, I don't see any power ring on your hand. Are you a synthetic being created by the Corps? A new generation of Manhunter design, maybe?"

Phyla-Vell (171) has posed:
And she's lost. Phyla's eyes gently glaze over as the words seem to go in one ear and out the other. Let the nerds have their nerd talk. She remainds still, mostly, shifting her weight from one foot to the other as a bored child might. Exposition is not her strong suit, as revealed by her sword and how the gold on her brown cloak and red suit resemble the blade and what that might indicate.

Jade has posed:
Jade can't help but show some amusement at Indigo's elaboration of the history of the other Guardians. "No, as I said, I'm only an ally. I'm not a Lantern. My power is imbued within me. A part of myself. I was born with it. As I was with this skin, though I am human."
The green fire slowly dies out as Jade allows herself to depower and her small feet hit the floor nearly soundlessly. "My father was Alan Scott, the first one from Earth to be chosen to be amonng the Corps," she says.
Then she looks over towards Phyla, "Nice sword."

Indigo has posed:
Indigo nods along with the explanation, and offers only, "Was? I see. I'm very sorry." Then she shuts up to let Phyla talk.

Phyla-Vell (171) has posed:
Phyla looks over at Indigo and blinks once before turning her head back to Jade and saying awkwardly, "Uh, thanks?" She's not really one for compliments but she does heft it up and tosses it towards Jade, the blade arcs beautifully through the artifical atmosphere and would be easy enough to grab by the hilt by Jade.

Jade has posed:
Jade might be more used to weapons such as lasers, bullets, and other projectiles being thrown at her, than swords. And, she wasn't expecting it. Still, her training takes over and she is able to grab the sword by the hilt, to inspect it. She clearly does not know how to use it, and doesn't seem to be embarassed that the fact might be utterly evident to the sword's owner, and probably Indigo as well.
"Was a Lantern," Jade agrees, "He's still alive. But, well. It's a long story. Regardless, we're allies of the Lanterns. But," she says, moving to hand the sword back to Phyla, "You're welcome on Earth, I'm sure, if you and your friends would like to stay awhile. If not? Well, I hope you have safe journeys when you leave."

Indigo has posed:
Indigo smiles. "Thank you, but it's best I stay away from Earth for personal reasons," explains the gynoid who has been speaking English this entire time. Gotta be a story there! "But if you'd like to observe us until we leave to make sure our behavior is appropriate, I'm sure we'd both understand that's your job." Indigo pauses, and amends, "Or at least your calling, in this case."
