Profile

Indigo is a war machine gynoid from the far future, sent back in time for unknown reasons. She wants to help people as much as she can and repay her friends for the kindness they showed her.

She looks familiar, though it can be hard to place why. One would think you'd remember a girl who looks like a twenty-year-old human but for eyes and close-cropped hair the color of cotton candy, and skin of pure indigo. She's fairly tall for a woman, and muscled like a voluptuous bodybuilder, which are kind of at odd contrast with her small movements and her tendency to clasp her hands and look down rather than in your eyes when speaking to you. She comes off a bit...well, shy. Maybe it's because she's wearing nothing but a few small pieces of blue-black rubber in the form of a midriff-bearing halter top with a big peekaboo window, a pleated miniskirt with a V-shaped belt line, and ankle boots with a two-inch heel. Her voice has an electronic hum beneath it that's actually a little pleasant, like she's talking just over a white noise machine.

Still, though...why does she look so familiar? (OOC Note: Check her history to see why she looks familiar!)

History

Those files have been damaged. Indigo recalls being constructed in the far future. She recalls battling her creator (but not who her creator is, or why they fought. She recalls being sent back in time with her body badly damaged, and one of her power cells exploding, knocking her out of her temporal transit and stranded in deep space, barely functioning until she was picked up and saved by her friends. She remembers loving her friends so much she felt like she'd malfunction from it. She still loves them that much.

She does not remember that Brainiac 6 built her to infiltrate heroes of the past responsible for some of his (past/future) defeats, and that everything about her, from her shy and vulnerable personality to her appearance being modeled after Power Girl to inspire the same fawning people pay to the Kryptonian, are all calculated to make her appealing and ingratiating until she's in position to destroy her Indigo personality and reveal the core of who she really is: Brainiac 8.

Personality

Indigo is trusting, sweet, naive, and earnest. She just likes most people and enjoys being helpful, in everything from fighting back alien invasions to helping out with laundry. She's capable of deep calculation and of being brutal in battle: if someone has to be hurt, then hurt them as quickly and totally as you have to to get the job done.

Abilities

ABLATIVE EXOCHASSIS
Indigo's pigmentation is as it is because her synthaflesh is mixed with duranium and coated in Teflon. This makes her resistant to most forms of kinetic energy (and it makes her skin pleasantly smooth!), but not invulnerable.

ANDROID PHYSIOLOGY
In addition to not requiring biological sustenance, Indigo's pneumatic muscles allow her to meaningfully arm-wrestle people as powerful as Starfire.

DISRUPTIVE FLECHETTES
Small ports hidden in Indigo's clavicle conceal a small payload of sedative-loaded darts with splintering tips to better penetrate flesh. The toxin takes about ten minutes to achieve full effectiveness, and it doesn't work on every species, but most species struck by these darts will find themselves chemically pacified in quick order. Unfortunately, the flechette delivery vector reduces penetration and makes them a poor choice against opponents with tough skin or armor.

GRAVITIC CONCUSSION CANNON
Indigo has gravity-manipulating pumps that can fire blasts through focusing lenses concealed in her palms. Depending on how narrowly the blast is focused, it could create a screen-like effect repelling matter at its widest aperture, or it could punch like a needle through the hull of a space shuttle if narrowed. See also Overcharged Repulsor Field.

OVERCHARGED REPULSOR FIELD
By setting her palm apertures to their widest setting and rerouting power from non-essential systems, Indigo can create a force field in front of her three meters in diameter and impenetrable to any force less than artillery shelling.

PLASMA THRUSTER ASSEMBLY
Compact rockets are concealed in Indigo's calves and shoulder blades. When extended, they allow her to achieve flight of up to six miles per second (escape velocity from several elevations on Earth).

PSYCHIC INVISIBILITY
Indigo's synthetic brain is not subject to many forms of telepathy, though more powerful or discerning psychics find her thoughts close enough to human to be comprehensible and subject to manipulation.

REINFORCED ENDOSKELETON
Indigo's CPU (her brain) is surrounded by the best shielding the future can create. It is nearly indestructible. The rest of her body is not.

TRINITY DATA INTERFACE

Indigo has no direct wireless connectors as a security precaution against hacking, but if hardwired to nearly any computer system, she is capable of interacting with it as a system administrator.

Skills

ADAPTIVE PROCESSOR

Though she has no trained skills at this time, Indigo is capable of learning, and has supergenius analytical capabilities, if not the experience to use it.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

As a fledgling member of the Guardians, Indigo can call upon their resources of...um...actually, let's not get too hung up on that. They mean well.

Weaknesses

ACTIVATION TIME
Several of Indigo's subsystems--her weapons, force field, flight, and interface abilities--require at least one second to unlock as she reconfigures her hardware to accommodate them, which can be devastating in battle. The same amount of time is required to switch back, which, in the case of the modules in her hands, can leave her unable to grasp objects at a crucial moment.

DESTRUCTIBLE FORM
To make her more pitiable, Brainiac 6 created Indigo to be prone to losing limbs when injured. These injuries require raw materials and repair facilities to restore.

SYMPATHY GENERATOR
Indigo likes almost everyone, and trusts everyone else. She can be easily deceived, and easily hurt by deception or betrayal.

SYSTEM STRESS POINTS
No system is unhackable. Indigo is resistant to psychic attack but not immune, and while she has no wifi, she can be "brainwashed" by attacking her visual or auditory sensors. Also, Brainiac believes her programming is too advanced to be analyzed or altered by this century's skills, but there are many geniuses capable of the task.

TROJAN HORSE

Indigo is programmed to become Brainiac 8 when she has an opportunity to assassinate specific Earth heroes who will one day deal Brainiac 6 key defeats. This flaw is, as far as anyone can prove, impossible to remove from her programming. She would do nearly anything to be rid of it.
