Beth had a rather normal life, her mother a police officer and her father a martial arts instructor who ran his own dojo. Her grandfather on her mother's side had been a cop as had his father. So she decided to follow in their footsteps. Raised in Bludhaven, she left long enough to attend college at Metropolis University before returning home. There she joined the Bludhaven Police Department and worked her way up the ranks as a member of the SWAT team and homicide detective. She recently has started working at NYPD as part of an officer exchange program between the two cities. She is still working as an investigator in the Homicide Division.

Standing at 5'8", she carries herself with shoulders back and head held high. Her body is extremely fit, no body fat to be found. The muscles are toned and defined, strength evident in every line of her body. Even her back and abs are defined, a definite six pack there though not always visible depending on what she is wearing. Her hair is blonde, falling straight to below her shoulders when she doesn't have it up in a ponytail or a twist at the back of her head. Her eyes are a bright blue. High cheekbones, a well defined nose, soft lips that are a lovely pink even without the help of make-up. She doesn't need it for her beauty to shine through. Her smile, when she shares it, brightening her expression and probably the room she's in.

%r%t Elizabeth "Beth" Greene was born in Bludhaven. Her mother was a career police officer, the daughter of a police officer father, who was the son of an officer. A family line that has gone four generations. Her father was a martial arts instructor and owned his own dojo. Beth was their only child. They weren't rich, but she was raised in a loving household with parents who adored her and did their best to give her everything she wanted. Perhaps she was a little spoiled. She wanted to learn gymnastics? They sent her to classes. She started training in the dojo at the age of three, by her own choice. It is something she loved, and they humored her. Thanks to her parent’s active lifestyles, they instilled the same into her. She was taught morality by her parents, to do the right thing, to be a good person.%r%r%tBy the time she reached high school, she already had several belts in different martial arts. In school she took an auto mechanics classes, learning to take care of engines. When she was sixteen, she was given a car from her parents. It was old, but it was hers. She still drives it to this day. %r%r%tShe left Bludhaven when she went off to Metropolis University. There she studied Criminal Justice and Psychology. When she graduated, she had her choice of where to go for her career but there was never a doubt. She returned to Bludhaven and was hired as a rookie into their police department. First, she was a beat cop, riding with a partner on patrol. Later she became a detective in property crimes. As the years passed, she was promoted to Homicide Detective. She's been working at that rank for the last two years.%r%r%tWhen the anti-mutant riots broke out across the country after the assassination of the President, Beth was amongst the officers on the front lines. The Bludhaven police department had loaned many of their officers, including their SWAT team, for this duty. During that time, she became friends with many of the local NYPD officers. Recently, there has been discussion between NYPD and Bludhaven about an officer swap for a six-month trial run. Due to her exposure, Beth’s name came up and she has been transferred to the New York City Police Department, retaining her rank as homicide detective. As such, she has moved to the Big Apple where she has learned money is a lot tighter than it was in Bludhaven. She’s had to settle for having a roommate to be able to afford to live in anything other than a dive.

CARS
As a police officer, Beth learned defensive driving which means she can handle a car safely at high speeds and in dangerous situations. Outside of that training, she's always had a thing for speed. She tended to break the speed laws on a regular basis. She learned to work on vehicles, a passable mechanic able to keep her car or motorcycle running with little outside help. She does not have anything more than hand tools so if she needed to do more than that, she'd have to find someone with the resources to use before she could do any work.
COMBAT
In addition to her martial arts skills, Beth is a trained police officer. She has learned how to handle herself in a fight, using the tools that are provided to those in law enforcement. In hand-to-hand, she knows how to use pressure points and holds to gain control of and maintain control of a suspect. When combined with her martial arts training, she is a formidable opponent. She has learned how to use the baton, the tazer, the ICE shield, firearms, etc. She is an expert marksman, competing on the police department's competitive team.
FITNESS
Beth believes in keeping herself physically fit. She spends a lot of time in the gym, keeping her body at peak physical condition. She knows a wide range of ways to keep herself that way. She will use any number of ways to do so from free weights, aerobics, swimming, etc.

She has trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. This advanced to training in MMA, where she did some competitive fighting during her college years. She trained with Nightwing for several months and would be considered on par with him in skill levels.
PARKOUR
Between her drive to keep physically fit and years of gymnastics training during her youth, Beth embraced the sport of parkour. The point of parkour is to get from one point to another in the fastest and most efficient way possible without assistive equipment. She can navigate her environment in this manner without fear, using tumbling and acrobatics to help her.
PSYCHOLOGY
Beth minored in Psychology in college. She has a basic knowledge of the field and can use it in her work. She can create a profile on a suspect, analyze behavior and try to interpret what a suspect may do by basic psychological rules. Not everyone can be figured out by psychology though so it is a small part of her skill set.

Although Beth works as a police officer full time, she keeps an eye on the Dojo for her father. She works there many evenings helping to teach classes. When she isn’t teaching, she often stops in to visit and spar. She doesn’t draw a salary from the dojo, but she does have access to the location for working out and training.

Worst case scenario, she is a target. Her career puts her in danger every day. She has to keep this in mind at all times or should could get herself killed. And no one can be on their toes every minute of every day.

Beth is trying to conquer this flaw with varying degrees of success. She has a temper. She gets upset and angry with a hair trigger at times. Through time, she usually manages not to do anything completely moronic when she gets angry but her mouth has a tendency to run rampant.

This has come from being a police officer. Whereas most people in the world are honest and hard working, she is exposed to the underbelly of civilization. While criminals only make up about five percent of the population, in her work she is exposed to them more then ninety-five percent of the time. It makes her automatically see the worst in the world. She is suspicious and untrusting, not willing to take people at face value. It makes it difficult to deal with her at times.
