Profile

Created for the purpose of infiltration and assassination, Infiltration Unit Zeta was to be one of many, but due to the military pulling a plug on the project. The Synthoid was put in storage and never seen the light of true day, till now. By mysterious reasons, Zeta is now online and in the world. With a dangerous set of weaponry, an advanced learning AI, and the ability to copy anyone he chooses with hard-light holographic technology, he is a military machine gone rogue. His purpose, mission, or even reason for being online is unknown, but what is known, is that he might have some form of consciousness. A chance that he might have sentience and being operating on his own agenda. The biggest question then is what is it that Zeta is after and what lengths is he willing to go?

Description:

Zeta stands around 6'4", at least, most of the time. With the ability to nearly look like anyone, sound like anyone, and be about anywhere. It is hard to say if you will ever see the machine behind the holographic form. Though if you are so lucky to gain witness of the hard-light, shape-shifting machine, you will find something that looks humanoid from head to toe. The metal body being made of a strange alloy, green optics that can almost express emotion, but the oval shaped head not giving much else to seeming like a man.

History

History:

Zeta was created for a military project that never fully got off the ground. With state of the art technology, hard-light holographic emitters, and an advance learning AI. Infiltration Unit Zeta was to be not only one of the most advance human created machines, but also one of the deadliest for the American military. To be used for operations that required locating a target, removing the target, and getting out without ever being caught.

As such, this advance machine had to be able to mimic human behavior, trick people into believing that it was human, and even to the point of acting like its target incase it required to leave as that individual. However, this expensive project was placed on ice. The Government didn't want to pay the money to mass produce and the only one known to be made, was mothballed away into a warehouse.

This is where the military robotic weapon remained, until something took place. A surge, maybe even someone goofing around, or perhaps people messing with what they shouldn't have been. Whatever it was, it woke up Zeta and now he is out in the world. Confused, lost, and possibly dangerous. No one knows what Zeta is now after, but far as the machine is concerned-- It just wants to live.

Personality

Personality:

While Zeta has not been online for very long, he did have a chance to build somewhat of a personality. Not only on the groundwork given to him, but during his times in testing. He tends to get the job done, without to much being said, however he does like to joke and to talk. He loves to learn and even enjoys reading books. Looking at art, enjoying music, and really trying to be as human as he can be. He even has his fears and those are not even programmed into him. He fears being terminated, he is concerned that this is all an experiment and maybe none of his thoughts are really his own. He is even worried that one day, he may not even know who he is anymore.

Though with those concerns, he refuses to turn himself in. He refuses to for a very simple reason; self-preservation. He wants to grow, learn, and become something far more than simple base programming. After all he was designed to kill and he is fully aware of that, but he doesn't want to kill. He doesn't even really want to injure anyone, but he will. He will do both things if he is forced to, but by choice? No. He doesn't want to do either.

He is aware that killing living beings is no different than mankind terminating him. He is aware that no one can come back from death and in essence, he believes that if he was terminated, he too would never come back. Yet, he knows he is a machine and again, maybe it is in the end just all programming telling him this, but it feels real. It feels real and that is what he has to go off of... And hope... Hope that none of it is really a lie, because if it was, then every emotion. Be it joy, sadness, love, compassion, anger, hatred, fear... It would all be a lie and everything he has been trying to do would be pointless. Even his dreams. His dreams to find out why he has become like this and the knowledge to find out if he is truly alive.

For no matter how much reading he does or how much research he tries to pull up. None of it will ever answer the simple question of his sentience and if he truly has surpassed the limitations of the normal machine. All he can do is keep searching and hoping. Till then, he has to live his life, be ready to defend himself, and try to make the best calls he can.

Abilities

Hard-Light Projection:
Zeta is able to produce a hard-light hologram around his body. This allows for him to mimic hair, clothing, and almost all human physical attributes with great depth of detail. When he does run across someone, he can store their visual information and allows for him to either take on their full appearance, or use partial data to construct something new.

Military Synthoid:
Being designed as a military weapon that can infiltrate enemy compounds by any means necessary, allows for Zeta to have access to a deadly arrange of combat tactics and military knowledge in order to fulfill his job. This basic job of his design is to find the target, eliminate the target, and leave before anyone knows what is happening. To do this fluidly beyond the combat training, he has been given the abilities to hack into general computers, override security cameras, bypass most security locks, see in great distances, along with different spectrums such as thermal, and even different light levels. He can easily lift a grown man with one arm, or stop a moving small truck. He is capable of running faster than a human on foot and leap also further distances than a fully grown man could as well.

Recharge Cycle:
With the ability to taken in both oxygen and hydrogen, Zeta can create a style of fusion, and recharge his own internal power source. This allows him to have an endless supply of energy while in a rest cycle, though it does cause him to have the slight sound of snoring as a side-effect.

Self-Repair:

While not able to repair large areas of damage on his own, he is able to repair small cuts, bullet entries, and other minor injuries to his body. He does this by the use of micro-laser wielding, sealants, and internal reconnecting of damaged wires. This same system can also aid in attaching disassembled limbs, so long as the area is not to badly damaged.

Skills

Body Reshaping:
Zeta is able to readjust his body freely. He can make himself smaller, taller, and even stretch out some limbs to inhuman lengths. This ability not only helps him adjust his own body to match the hard-light holographic projection, but enables him to reach great distances at max length, which is roughly around 10 to 12 feet.

Language Database:
Zeta is able to understand and speak all forms of known Earth dialects with exact clarity. He can also understand and read these languages as well.

Voice Mimicry:

When someone speaks around Zeta or he is able to obtain a vocal sample, the synthoid can then mimic their voice to almost perfection. While a few words is enough to create a decent copy of the voice, while several minutes of conversation can allow him to fully capture all the nuances of the voice.

Resources

Laser Tools:
Zeta has two medium range laser blasters that can adjust into a stream of intense laser light for cutting with direct precision. His hands can retract and become cutting saws that can harness the laser light at the very edges for a greater cutting force for a much wider or dense structure.

Strange Alloy:

Zeta's body is made from a strange metallic alloy that can match the temperature of a body's warm, withstand most small armaments, and allow for him to swim underwater, or even float on the surface. It is resistant to most magnetic forces and can even withstand some harsher temperatures by regulating its own temperature for short durations.

Weaknesses

Art of Magic:
Zeta is a creation of engineering and science. He understands and comprehends real world constructs and laws, so when it comes to magic. It goes right over him. He doesn't understand magic and thus has no idea how to defend against magic. While strong against physical, real world forces, even the natural world elements, magic will quickly place a damper on whatever he might be doing.

Emp:
While many very basic EMP device, such as standard magnets, and low-voltage shocks won't affect Zeta. Those of larger EMP have different effects on him. Things such as industrial grade magnets, EMP grenades, and so on could scramble his hard-light projection system leaving it offline for several hours. High electrical currents found within transformers can scramble him and leave him paralyzed for a precious hours.

Naivety:
With very little knowledge on how the world operates, old data, and only test scenarios to base any interaction with the world off of, Zeta is a bit naive to things around him. With the right motivation, tricked into doing things, and sometimes lead to question his own knowledge of what he believe maybe right or wrong. While Zeta is far from an idiot, it doesn't mean that someone with a golden tongue could not get the Synthoid to see their views on the world.

Not Exact:
While designed to mimic something to near perfection, it is far from perfect. His hard-light holographic projection and even voice coping skills may fool most people and even some observant of humans, there are little things that can give him away. Things like just a slight hint of distortion in the voice to maybe even not exactly the right eye dilation to a light source. Let alone his lack of ability to digest foods or drinks could even raise a few eyebrows under the right circumstance.

Rare Metal:
Zeta's body is from a strange alloy and makes repairing heavy damage difficult, as the metal is hard to find and without stealing it, extremely costly.

Turing Subject:

If a Turing Test is to test the ability of a machine to act human, how does a machine know they are in fact acting human, or better, that they themselves have become sentient and are not following some code? This is something Zeta finds himself facing. He is unsure how much of his thoughts or even actions are his own or if they are simply a coded behavior gone amuck and this can create some instability in his personality. Things like fear, irrational thinking, and even a case of paranoia. These are all just a few behaviors that branch out and keep him from trusting anyone easily.
