Pixie has posed:
It's March! finally! And the snow is sloooowly starting to melt. Time to celebrate spring! Maybe..At least that's what this group of people decided to do with a little early spring festival. Lively music plays in the park, a large bonfire in the center, although with the warmth, it's more to stave off any unexpected flurries.

There are small vendors set up all over the park and even a few colorful flowers are starting to peek out. What a cheerful scene! Naturally Megan's here, laughing and giggling and dancing and peering at this and that. Heck, she doesn't even care if her cute lil' fairy wings are showing cuz honestly?

There are some people even dressed up like fairies, especially over in the corner where they're reading stories and stuff..Perfect!

Nightingale has posed:
Megan isn't the only one who doesn't seem to give a fig if their wings are showing. There is a rather familiar-looking winged teen who has also joined in the trip to the festival, with her large, snowy, feathered angel wings in plain sight. Shannon's less focused on the vendors and the bonfire than she is the simple marvel of a few crocus flowers peeking through the last remnants of snow in a corner of the park. She's in her caramel suede boots, dark blue jeans, and a wine-colored tunic sweater. She's crouching down next to a few lone blooms that have dared to defy Winter's wrath, to usher in Spring, tracing the delicate edges of a light purple crocus blossom, a smile tugging the corners of her mouth upwards.

Perhaps the groundhog got it right this year after all!

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau has likewise decided to go out and enjoy the first truely nice days of the year. Unlike the girl's however whose wings actully don't stand out for once, he's chosen to hide his eyes behind a pair of dark sunglasses. Still he's smiling and just soaking in the atmosphere. Keeping an eye on his young charges, but not smothering them. They are some of the most well behaved students anyway. He gets a hotdog and finds a tree near the music but away from the bonfire to lean on and eat it.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn stays near Shannon and Mr. LeBeau (or is it Monsieur?) either way, she's unfamiliar with these folks, and while they seem friendly, one can never be too careful, can they? She grins and twirls, pausing to peer over at Shannon and the flowers.

"Oooh, have the first flowers of the year arrived? Soo exciting! I just looove spring, it's my favorite time of year! Heey, Mr. LeBeau, can we get something to eat? I'm soo starving and that spicy food looks yummy. How about something Cajun?"

Cuz he's the adult and probably has more money than the 'kids'. Oh and Megan left her wallet at home (whoops?).

Nightingale has posed:
Unlike Megan, Shannon was well-prepared, with her little brown leather pouch perpetually hanging from her belt. She chuckles lightly and nods, the ice-blue braid on the left side of her face bobbing and waving in the early spring breeze, the little silver beads on the end glistening like dewdrops at dawn. "Mmhmm. Looks like a few crocuses are braving the snow. So unless the groundhog royally fouled up, we might actually be heading for a slightly early spring this year."

Rising to her feet, she brushes off the front of her jeans, ruffling her wings and extending them ever so slightly. "My turn to treat you both, if you like. Wonder what the vendors have for munchies? If we were back in Waterford..." She sighs softly, ducking her head for a moment. "...we'd be looking for some good, clear-broth clam chowder. But that's another hour or two east of here. And a lot less friendly to... some kinds, than here."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau shakes his head slightly, "Nah chere, Ah take care of it." He promises, adding with a playful grin, "Den Ah submit de receipt in ta de Professor as a School related outing expence, an' 'e reemberse me on mah next pacheck. Everone win dat wa, non?" he says with a grin, finishing his hotdog fairly quickly. "Yah in de mood foh shellfish soup chere, Remy make yah 'is 'omemade Shrimp Gumbo. It's so t'ick it take a spoon five minutes ta reach de bottom of de pot if yah drop it in de pot.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn cheers, because she's totally cheap, or something. "Yaay! Thanks Remy! I'll totally bake you cookies too!" because frankly, she only knows the one recipe and can only actually bake the one type of cookie without burning them. "Well that's cool, does fancy food count as a necessary expense?" hey a girl's gotta eat!

"Ooh, just make it something spicy, I'm in the mood for hot n' spicy! I really wish Spring would hurry up and come though, it's taking so long..." she pouts a bit, peering around, "Ooh, I found another flower!" and she flutters towards a small ring of them, peering at them thoughtfully.

"It's like..Fairy's ring. Very lucky! Maybe there's a fairy about.." When she says that, she actually looks quite serious..

Nightingale has posed:
"If I didn't know better, Remy, I'd call that a culinary challenge." Shannon turns to them both and grins. "One seafood delight versus another. New England versus the Big Easy. With everyone winding up with a full belly, everyone would win!" Giggling--an odd sound from her of late--she rubs her hands together with glee. Oh yes, the point about outing expenses was well-taken, so indeed, it was perhaps time to pig out! It wasn't as if she wouldn't burn it off flying and training, anyways, but hey--this was about fun today!

Megan's remark earns the pink-haired pixie girl a raised eyebrow. Yet her expression did not speak of disbelief, but simple acceptance, as if fairies and gods were a simple, ordinary fact of life, and not amongst the impossible. "Wouldn't surprise me. Hopefully they're friendly, though!"

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau heads over. Once upon a time he'd have thought such things nonsense. Now? Well when you see a woman try to sacrifice her child to a literal demon, it alters your perspective a bit. "Ah t'ought Fairy circles were made of mushrooms." The Cajun says cautiously approaching and very much /not/ stepping over the edge of the circle. "We c'n do spicy if yah like chee, dares a place not too far from 'ere dat's good for burning tastebuds."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn beams, turning to the others. "Yay! Let's get something spicey to eat, then we can sit on that bench over there, by the fairy ring...I wanna see if any fairies come out to play!" yup, she's just a kid at heart, moreso than the other youngsters at the school. Or maybe she's got some truth to her words. As for mushrooms? She just shrugs and giggles, "Ooh, I guess they couldn't find any mushrooms so they made it out of flowers? it's pretty unusual though, right? Right?"

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon just smiles and chuckles softly to herself. She'd seen the impossible come true as surely as if it were a simple fact of life. Fairy rings? Actual fairiesS? For someone who had walked with gods and kings, well, why not? "I remember a time when I used to pretend that every fall, it wasn't nature, it was fairies painting the leaves all those beautiful colors. Could you just imagine it? Fairies everywhere, each with a little paintbrush, going wild with color every fall?" It's not lost on her how even Remy treats the fairy ring with respect, and she takes her cue from him, keeping well outside of the circle.

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau smiles a bit, glancing over at Shannon with a smirk. "Dose weren' de kinda Fairy Stories Ah learned as a child chere." He says playfully. "De Witch dat wanted ta eat Hansel an' Gretle? Fairy. Snow White's Step mama? Fairy. He shrugs a bit, "Fairy's c'n be down right scary." He grins at Megan, "Presen' company excepted of course."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn peers thoughtfully at the fairy circle, walking around it and muttering something under her breath "May you sleep well, fairies.." she bites her lip, glancing back at Remy, quite surprised. "Oooh...Really? I meaan, I thought those were all wicked witches. Fairies can't be wicked..Can they? I thought they were all good.."

She does put a little, stretching out her wings. "Um, that's funny, see, I thought I was a mutant, but lately I've been wondering if I'm something more..I wish I could meet a REAL fairy that I could talk to and find out..But both my parents were just normal humans soooo.....That doesn't make sense, right?"

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon purses her lips in thought. "In some of those old fairy stories, there were changelings. Babies that were taken at birth and swapped out for one of the fae's own. Not sure of all the details but eh, you never know." She shrugs and chuckles. "Fact of the matter is, Megan, you are as you are. You are who you are now, and it doesn't much matter where you came from."

Sighing softly, she glances over at Remy. "Yeah, I know some of those other stories, too. They weren't all bright and shiny with happy endings. Some were downright gruesome. Still..." She takes a deep breath, taking in the smells of spring, the beginning of the season tickling at her senses. The corners of her lips tug upwards in a light smile, and she peers at the fairy circle. "I've seen the impossible become possible. Gods, kings, all as normal as can be, just like talking to you both right now. Very few if any are all good, and very few if any are all bad. Even the most... tricksy sorts... can have their moments."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau nods slightly and grins slightly, "Oh Ah'm all bad chere, Ah jus' 'ide it really wee be'ind a chick magnet voice an' good looks on loan from God. If Ah 'ad a Jersy accent and looked like Toad, bet mos' folks woul' consider me a villian."

Nightingale has posed:
"And yet, even a villain can still have their moments." Smiling somewhat, Shannon ruffles her wings; a single feather works its way free and flutters to the ground just inside the fairy circle. "You're not all bad, though. You've been very kind to a lot of us. Not just me, but Megan, and Gwendolyn as well. You've been a friend when we've all needed one, and I hope it continues to be that way."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau smirks a little bit, "Well maybe Ah'm just tryin' ta aquire minions foh a future coup." He says with a grin and steps away from the circle. "So what'll it be cheres? Ah'm buying."

Nightingale has posed:
"Something just a little bit spicy. The last time I had an item rated four stars at a Thai restaurant, I think there were flames coming out of my ears." Shannon chuckles and shrugs, glancing around the fair. "Not sure what they've got for edible goodies, but I'd be willing to bet if they went with traditional things, you'll see a lot of egg-based dishes and such."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn pouts a bit, clearly bothered by something. "But..But I wanna know..Why can I use magic? Why am I allergic to metal? It's kinda weird. I wanna know more, if I could find a REAL fairy.." she peers towards the fairy ring, but it seems like the fairies are out to lunch right now..

"Hmmm, I need to get a spellbook, learn some new spells.." For a moment, she wanders off from the others, something in the trees surrounding the park catching her attention. And as they chat amongst themselves she suddenly darts back.

"Heeey, look at that!" she points at what seems to be a sparkly glitz of light in one of the trees..Or is it a trick of the sun casting against a bed of snow? Who knows? Megan seems to think it's something.

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau smirks a bit and considers, "We coul' always go get somet'ing and come back." He says with a shrug. To Megan he says "Coul' be somet'ing in yah bloodline chere? Somet'ing dat yah mutation awakened?" he says with a smile. "Ah've 'eard it's not dat uncommon foh people wit' various bloodlines dat develop mutations along de same pat' as dare bloodline." He considers "Ah know dis place dat got wings... but yah gotta sign a waiver..."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon raises her eyebrows and goes very quiet, extending her wings to their full span. The feathers ruffle in a light, cool spring breeze, as she curls them around in front of herself, touching the feathers. "Yeah," she murmurs, her brows furrowing. "Nobody in my family's ever been a mutant, and yet here I have wings very much like Warren's. None of the other children survived, yet here I am. Kind of makes you wonder."

Shaking her head, her wings snap outwards once more, then fold themselves neatly behind her back. She opens her mouth as if to answer Remy, but Megan's exclamation catches her attention. She smiles lightly, reaching out as if to touch the light. "Well, whatever it is, who knows, maybe it's a bit of good luck, hmm?"

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn narrows her eyes, chancing one last glance at the trees above, as the flickering green lights seem to glitter and swirl into a faint arc, then disappear amongst the trees. "Heh..Maybe it was just my imagination.." she cant help but shiver slightly though, at the faint scent of magic in the air..

With a shrug and smile she turns to face the others. "Soo! Where too? We could try those spicy cajun chicken wings at that food truck over there..Or..Gumbo soup? Or both! Whee, I'm soo hungry I could eat an elephant!"
