This may not win a Pulitzer but that's okay
Date of Scene: 05 May 2020
Location: Bridge - Legion Cruiser
Synopsis: Lois Lane is invited to the Legion's cruiser to interview the greatest superhero team in the galaxy.
Cast of Characters: Slipstream, Cosmic Boy, Lois Lane, Saturn Girl

Slipstream has posed:
Having got a message from Lois sent their way, Drake coordinated a time and date to set up an interview for the Galaxy's greatest heroes. Suck it, StarLord. Your name sucks. Settled in front of the transporter pad, he taps in the coordinates, then hits the big green flashing button. Green means go, right? Hopefully it doesn't mean 'turn Lois into a garden salad.' As the energy field ripples and shimmers, the reporter will quickly be teleported on to the bridge of the Legionnaire's cruiser.

"Hello Miss Lane!" He says in a formal tone as he lifts a hand to wave to her. He's in his 'uniform' today. Bold blue and silver colors with a belt with the letter L for the buckle. He looks sleek and aerodynamic. A great fit for a speedster.

"Looks like you got all of your limbs still with you. Want some water, or maybe a Daxamite inspired milkshake? It's not blue milk like from Star Wars. It's green. Tastes like almonds." He assures her.

Cosmic Boy has posed:
Having received the message from Drake about getting together with THE Lois Lane, Rokk took a few minutes to catch his breath. Then, acknowledged that he would be there to "supervise" the interview, of course. Waiting for the time when she would arrive, Cos stays on the bridge, waiting for Drake to escort her to the nerve centre of the "Legion in Exile" here in the 21st century. Self consciously he checks his hair, just in case.

Lois Lane has posed:
Okaay, getting teleported to a futuristic ship was pretty...Different. Suure, she hands out a lot with the man in the blue and red tights, but this is definitely the first time Lois attempted an interview on a spaceship for crying out loud. It's really quite an amazing feeling, and hey, she didn't get turned into garden salad, so yay!

Blinking a couple of time, she has to breathe deeply to maintain her composure, because it would be unseemly and totaly unprofessional if she got all excited or started freaking out. Instead she smiles brightly at Drake and nods. "Well, hello again, Drake!" she looks down at her hands, counting her fingers and wriggling her toes and grins. "Looks like!"

"Daxamite inspired milkshake? What's that like? Sounds good." she smiles, "Mmm, almonds. Sure, why not?" Really, Lois can't help but peer around at every nook and cranny, and surely, there's more to see when they reach the bridge. For now, she checks her equipment, she brought a compact camera with a tripod and a microphone, some other fancy stuff in her reporter's bag too, cuz you never know what to expect up here.

"Alright, lead on. Take me to your leader, as they say." she grins.

Saturn Girl has posed:
"That's the fourth time you have checked it in the last five minutes," comes the voice of Rokk's teammate sitting nearby on the bridge. Imra's looking particularly amused at his obvious nervousness. He can face Brainiac and a thousand other villains but meeting /THE/ Lois Lane has him all agitated. It was rather amusing to witness. "You look fine. Relax. It's just another interview. You've done lots of those."

Imra is also dressed in her uniform, a bodysuit in pink with a white stripe down the middle, the Saturn emblem emblazoned on the chest so it is easily visible to others around her. For her part, she looked quite calm. "Oh dear. I think you have a piece sticking up in the back..." she suddenly murmurs, sounding concerned as she tilts her head slightly. After all, the reporter isn't quite there yet. Might as well have some fun.

Slipstream has posed:
"Sure! Come along with me. I'll get you on to the bridge and you can meet Rokk and Imra. They go by Cosmic Boy and Saturn Girl. Though you know, they're older than me. Not sure why they haven't called themselves Cosmic Man or Saturn Babe. Maybe they're already taken and copyrighted. Saturn Girl is a telepath by the way, so don't think loud thoughts, they give her migraines. Or maybe I give her migraines. I can't help it if I think in cartoon."

Drake casually makes his way through the ship, giving a smile to Snowball who joins them as she zips through the hallways with a happy doot! noise. He gives her a fist bump against one of her propellers. "Lois, you've met Snowball I believe back during Superman's rescue. She is my health bot, built by Tony Stark to monitor my vitals."

As they come into view of the bridge, he gives a lazy salute to the pair of ranking Legionnaires. "Morale Officer reporting for duty. Hey guys, this is Miss Lane." You know, THE Lois Lane. "She is here to give the Legion an interview, kinda like a thank you for our contribution to bringing her h-- friiiiend .. back safely. You know, Superman."

"Lois, this is Rokk and Imra." He gives a motion to them. "Ta da."

Cosmic Boy has posed:
Hearing the voice, Rokk blinks, smiles sheepishly, and then looks over at one of his oldest frirnds and teammates, of course. "Gee, thanks for pointing that out Imra. Yeah. I may be a bit nervous. It isn't everyday you get to meet HER after all." Cos straightens his uniform, once again going into his self inspection, and then sees Imra's amused look.

"Okay, where? What piece?" Cos tries to find it, fails, and looks back at SG. "Thanks. Ok you are right. I'll relax." Cos grins. "You are having way too much fun at my expense." Cos moves over, and almost sits down, when Drake finally arrives.

"Hello Drake." Cosmic Boy steps forward with a warm smile, burying his nervousness behind that charming Braalian smile. "Miss Lane. It is a true honor to meet you. I am Rokk Krinn, Cosmic Boy, and want to welcome you aboard the Legion Cruiser." Cos shoots a quick look back at Drake, and then at Lois. "Yes. It is great to hear Superman is back in the fight once again. No small testament to your efforts, Miss Lane." Cos lets Imra introduce herself.

Saturn Girl has posed:
As they enter, Imra stands and approaches, slightly more slowly than her teammate. She stops at a spot to his left, giving her own smile (though Titanian instead of Braalian). Once Cos is done with his introduction, she speaks.

"I am Imra Ardeen, Saturn Girl. It is truly an honor to meet you."

Lois Lane has posed:
Lois Lane follows Drake, peering around this way and that. And she does snap a few pictures with her smaller camera, eyes wide with wonder. "Heh, guess they outgrew their names, but the name still stuck." she shrugs, "Hey I like those names." she shrugs, and makes a note not to think too loudly around Saturn girl.

A curious glance is given Snowball and she smiles and nods. "Robots. Of course." right, Superman has some in his fortress of solitude, which she's probably been to maybe only once, briefly. "Nice to meet you. Tha'ts really incredible."

And finally they're on the bridge. Huzzah! She smiles and nods. "Hello, nice to meet you both. Indeed, it's great to have him back, and I am planning a welcome back barbeque for him and anyone else who would like to come. You're all welcome to attend of course!"

Slipstream has posed:
"Maybe. Who knows. Names are like socks, right? Always replaceable." Drake says as he gives Snowball a tap on the head. "Get her a Daxy shake." The little robot flies off lazily once more, heading for the mess hall to get a shake. She's well trained and behaved.

"So, this is only 'some' of the Legion of Superheroes. There is a lot of us, but Rokk and Imra here are kinda like celebrities. They're the original members! So they are the experts on anything and everything that is the LOH."

Giving a motion of his hands, he pulls up a seat for her. It looks like half an egg was cut out filled with cushions. Typical space bucket seat for the 31st century. "Here you go. It's super comfortable."

Cosmic Boy has posed:
"A BBQ! How...fascinating! Thank you, I am honored!" Rokk grins and waves Lois to come onto the bridge. "We're trying to be more open to the 21st centuiry, but we also really want to get home. As it is, we are making the best of it! So, welcome!" Cos nods as Drake offers Lois a chair on the bridge.

"So, was there anything in praticular you'd like to ask us? We obviously can't reveal anything about the future, except for the things you already know, so we don't contaminate the timeline. Not even Superman knows very much."

As Drake chimes in, Rokk blinks, and shakes his head. "I don't know about being "celebrities", we're Legionnaires just like everyone else. And we are far from experts on everything, believe me." Rokk's smile grew wider.

Saturn Girl has posed:
"I have been doing extensive research on this time. For us, this time is something to be learned from and studied but, of course, we don't have all the information. It's simply not possible with that much passage of time. Thus, we are able to fill in gaps we had or correct information when necessary," Imra says with a nod in the direction of Rokk, supporting his statement they were trying to be more open to this time.

Lois Lane has posed:
Lois Lane smiles and nods. "Right, I'll take your word for it!" she looks to Rokk and Imra and nods, letting that sink in as she slides into the funky bucket seat. Wow. A real ship. She's on a real starship. Full of superheroes. From the future! Lois is probably more excited to see the Legion than they are to see her! Although she does keep her composure pretty well.

"Of course, once I've ironed out a date, I will let you know. Your friend here was incredibly brave in helping to rescue Superman.." she nods to Drake as she says that." She peers curiously at Rokk. "Oh, I see. So you're..STuck here, somehow?" Lois pauses a moment to pull out her camcorder and tripod, setting those up nicely. She didn't bring any lighting, but the ship seems to be pretty well lit, so she just sets up her microphone, checking it by tapping on it a couple of times.

"Well, I suppose that goes without saying, although it's a pity. I have so many questions about the future, but I understand. Please, stake a seat." she is aware of all three but focuses her main questions on Cosmic Boy as he is the leader of this outfit. A few more sound checks and they're ready to go.

"So tell me, Cosmic Boy, where and when exactly did you come from, in the future. And how did you wind up here?" Drake had mentionned something about a cataclysmic event but of course she needs to get this from the beginning.

Slipstream has posed:
"I'll get snacks." Drake says with a smile to the trio, then heads off after Snowball to make sure that she doesn't spill the shakes, and to grab some space chips and popcorn. It's probably just regular snacks from Earth to be honest. Nothing beats movie theater butter popcorn.

Cosmic Boy has posed:
"Yes, Drake is a hero and a valued member of the team. He's one of the best." Rokk smiles at Drake and sits down across from Lois. "Thank you Miss Lane. I am sure we will have a rep from our team at the BBQ. Drake for sure." Cos smiles.

"Where and when...well, I come from a planet a long ways from Earth. Braal. I was born in the 30th century. We wound up here because of an accident. Or we believe it was. It may have been an attack by one of our Arch Villains, trapping us in the 21st century."

Cos looks over at Imra, with a nod.

Saturn Girl has posed:
"We haven't verified that yet but it wouldn't be the first time they have used such tactics," Imra says with a nod. She finds her own seat, back where she had started, and settles in the be comfortable for this. Rokk taking the lead is fine by her but she is there to add information as requested.

"For the moment, we are going with it being accidental. We have our best minds working on the problem." Brainy counts as the best mind but there are others on the ship who are extremely intelligent. "Between them, we should be able to conquer this given enough time."

Lois Lane has posed:
Lois Lane nods. "Right. 'Trapped under mysterious circumstances.' That's..Interesting. And..Do you have a lot of enemies in the future, then? How exactly were you trapped..Are you saying this ship is broken, somehow?" she writes down some notes as she speaks. "Braal. 30th Century. Wow, you really are a long ways from home. Do you ever feel..Homesick? How long have you been here, in this timeline, on earth?"

Cosmic Boy has posed:
See, that was why they worked so perfect together. Imra was always there with exactly what Rokk was thinking, even without the telepathy. She was so instinctive. "Exactly Saturn Girl. I am sure we will be able to get to the bottom of this as soon as possible. In the meantime, here we are." Cos looks over at the camera and smiles.

"Oh, we have a lot of enemies in the future. Very dangerous...and yes, we all feel homesick. We've only been here a short time." Cos says, coming back to Lois. "The ship isn't broken, per se. Our access to time travel is...broken, from a physics standpoint."

Cos hrms. "Something is not allowing us to move through time. I believe it has affected all time travellers in this time period. Perhaps, it is a fixed point in time? Hard to say."

Saturn Girl has posed:
"Some moreso than others on being homesick, of course," Imra adds in regards to the homesick portion. "Some members find the Legion itself to be more like family than their genetic relatives. Others have no one else and thus, they are finding it easier to cope since we are here together."

She nods succinctly to the point about time travel. "It is a curious phenomena really. Generally time is more fluid. Yet, I have confidence we will find our way home once we get through the fixed point, if not before."

Slipstream has posed:
Making his way back to the bridge with a large bowl of popcorn that floats on top of Snowball's head, Drake also has the milkshake. He pulls up a small table and sets everything up, then flops down into his own chair as he sinks down into the cushions. As he picks up the conversation, he gives a glance over to Rokk and Imra. "So.. would I be staying here when you guys go back to your time or would you expect me to tag along?" He says with a hint of worry creeping into his voice. That's a huge decision to make.

Lois Lane has posed:
Lois Lane frowns at that. "Something blocking you..Hmm, interesting. Sounds more like a someone than a simple accident to me." she smiles, "But considering you don't come from earth, it seems you have acclimatized pretty well. Drake here tells me you know of many things that are going to happen in Earth's timeline.."

She quirks a curious brow at Drake, "Hmm aren't you guys team mates? Like, professional superheroes or something?"

Cosmic Boy has posed:
Cos watches Imra as she speaks to homesickness and time travel. "Exactly." Cos says, with a single nod. "We're here. We are a family. We make do with what we have. We can head home someday, and it will be like we were gone for seconds there, although here, a few months have passed."

Then, Drake arrives. With the snacks. Grabbing a handful of popcorn, the crunch reverberating in his ears, Cos raises an eyebrow. "Well, Drake, that is something we will have to deal with when and if it happens. After all...you truly belong here in this time. However, you could always take the risk, come forward, and we can return you here to this time, at the moment you left. We'll chat...when it happens." Something to discuss with Brainy and Mon El in the future.
