Profile

Rokk Krinn was born on Earth in the 31st century to parents from Braal. Growing up on Braal, he became a professional Magno Ball player, and eventual Galactic Champion.

Together with two other exceptional teenagers, they saved the life of the richest man in the Galaxy, R.J. Brande and became the founders of a group of teenagers known as the Legion of Super-Heroes!

Now years later, the membership of the Legion includes heroes from a myriad of worlds! Recently, on a mission to save the Universe from an unknown villain, many of the Legion, including Cosmic Boy, were trapped in the past - the 21st century!

Description:

This young man is tall, just over 6', and exhudes a calm, quite confidence. His build, his movements, his look is one that reveals the professional athlete in his form. He has slightly unruly dark black hair that always seems to find its way into his eyes. Those eyes - eyes of the deepest blue, deeper than the deepest depths of the ocean. They look at you with an appraising air, without being rude or even overstaying their "welcome".

For now, Rokk Krinn's face is scruffy, with a few days of growth, dark and almost growing in perfect order - a testatment to the man's personality if you know him. His face is young, but his eyes. His eyes reveal so much. They have seen history, time, and so many things that they give the impression he is much older than his "teenage" appearance would reveal.

Rokk Krinn is wearing a dark, black jacket at this time, with pants to match. The jacket is unzipped several centimeters below the collar to reveal underneath a deep, dark purple mesh shirt. On each side of his chest, left and right, are two "silver" metallic attachments, four total, of expanding size. The one closest to the zipper, and lowest on the jacket is small and the one near his collar is just a bit larger.

Rokk's boots are a futuristic style, and very well worn. His belt is black, and appears leather with a small belt buckle that has a stylized "L*" on it. There are two small black leather pouches on both sides of the belt, four total. On his right hand is a ring, of black, metallic material with a yellow "L*" on the head of the ring. Strangely, it flashes in the light, bringing your eyes right to it.

History

History:

Rokk Krinn was born on Earth to two Braalian parents. After his birth, the family moved back to Braal, where Rokk was raised. Due to the nature of his birth, Rokk discovered very young that his powers were exponentially more powerful than other Braalians, and he used this to become a young, teenage Magno Ball Galactic Champion for the entire United Planets, twice!

This notoriety and money, allowed him to move his parents and his family back to Earth. Unfortunately, a terrorist attack on Earth killed his mother, and injured his baby brother and father. They moved back to Braal to recover, and Rokk moved towards his destiny.

While travelling on a star cruiser, Rokk and two other extraordinary youths discovered a plot to kill one of the most powerful and richest United Planets citizens - R.J. Brande. Leaping into action, these three teenage heroes lept into action, and defeated the plot, saving Brande's life. Using his money and influence, he bought an HQ for them, and bestowed upon them a kind of "law enforcement" status as the newly created team of the Legion of Super-Heroes!

As the first leader, Rokk Krinn has been a part of thousands of missions, and is seen as the "elder" of the mostly teenage Legion. His strength of character, his unswerving devotion to the ideals of the heroes of the 21st cenury, and his sense of justice, makes him the soul of the Legion.

Trapped back in time, Rokk has become separated from the team and has forgotten who he is and what he stands for. As such, he struggles to remember, trying to find his way back to his friends and the Legion!

Personality

Personality:

A lot has happened to Rokk Krinn in his very short life. Raised in a blue collar, hard working family, he has seen how it is to be dirt poor. He has seen a meteoric rise as the Galaxy's greatest Magno Ball Champion of all time, with money and fame enough to go around. He has seen his family "firebombed" and the victim of a terrorist attack. He has buried his mother, and seen his baby brother and father hospitalized.

Rokk Krinn has had responsibility thrust upon him at a young age, where he had to make life and death decisions. Then - he became a superhero, saving the life of a very powerful man. That was just in his first 14 years of life.

Rokk Krinn is a strong, capable, bastion of strength, disciplined and a true leader, unique in a generation. He is also capable of great warmth, affection, self-sacrifice and dedication. As a contradiction of terms he is strong willed - yet diplomatic, and fair. Kind, compassionate, he can be gentle and friendly, in touch with his emotions.

That isn't to say he cannot be a soldier or a warrior when he needs to be. He is just and fair, strong and firm to those that require it. He has trained, almost with a fanatical devotion to martial skill and discipline with Karate Kid, every day.

Through it all, he also suffers from PTSD. He has seen death and destruction on a Galactic scale, and this affects you, deeply. However, he would never show this "weakness" to his friends and his family in the Legion. He has to be strong for everyone, as they look up to him and rely on him to be...well, Cosmic Boy. This can be hard on him, and he finds that there is only one or two people that he can be himself with.

Rokk Krinn is Cosmic Boy. The soul of the Legion. The bastion of strength and fortitude, the one everyone can count on, even those Legionnaires who have the power to destroy planets. He is the one person everyone can count on, almost like the Superman for the 31st century. A man he has studied and admires. Cos is a true hero for the future.

Abilities

Charisma:
Rokk is that classic hero type. Jet black hair. Deep blue eyes. Square jaw. Athletic physique with the 8-pack abs to match. Confidence and stoic demeanor. Alpha-type personality that draws people to him. This isn't so much a super power, as a power. When he speaks, people listen. When he glares, people cower. It is just his natural charm and good looks that make him a classic hero, like out of a blockbuster 21st century movie. After all, his personality is...magnetic.

Electromagnetic Pulse:
Rokk can, when concentrating, emit an "EMP" or "Electromagnetic Pulse" that can fry or disable all unshielded electronic devices, especially in the 21st century. This is a power he rarely uses, because he has very little control over the effects that it has on the environment for up to several kilometers! By pushing his powers, he could even disable shielded electronic devices, but this would be a last resort as it would destroy most other non-shielded electronics.

The usual use of this power is more "concentrated" however, and he is an expert at using this directed version of his power. By concentrating he can manipulate magnetic fields in the area to emit incredibly effective "concussive" magnetic blasts or bursts, to disable or destroy, as necessary. These blasts have been known to severly hurt Validus, Superman, and even Darkseid himself, although weakened from centuries of sleep.

Electromagnetic Vision:
One of the stranger aspects of Rokk's mastery of his powers is the ability to see into the electromagnetic spectrum of light, photons, and radiation. By concentrating, this allows Rokk to see things very differently, and his vision is able to pick up things more akin to what a Kryptonian can see with their vision powers, including people and objects, even when cloaked or invisible.

Rokk can perceive the electromagnetic fields of objects and people, and even their "aura", including moods. Rokk can use his powers to see, beginning at the low frequency (long wavelength) end of the spectrum: radio waves, microwaves, infrared, visible light, ultraviolet, X-rays, and gamma rays at the high-frequency (short wavelength) end.

Energy Absorption:
Rokk Krinn is a living magnet. As such, he has the ability to absorb energy at a prodigious level. He can re-distribute most energy including electricity, radiation, kinetic, even heat and light, throughout the electromagnetic spectrum, especially within a planetary electromagnetic sphere, or planet.

It would require an insanely high power, like Superman's heat vision, Darkseid's Omega Beams, or several different energy sources at once, to overload his ability to absorb the energy, and he can be overloaded - which would be bad. Very bad.

Using this, Rokk can use that energy and boost his other powers, to a limited extent, including increasing his strength to low superhuman levels, on par with the 25 ton range. He rarely does this, because the effects on his physiology are devastating, and he requires a lot of rest when he comes down from the event.

Flight:
Rokk Krinn is a masterful "flyer" using his flight ring, a spacecraft, or his control of magnetic fields. This is rare among Braalians, but Rokk could never have become a great Magno Ball Champion without mastering this aspect of his power. Rokk is one of the top two or three Legionnaires in flying ability, if not the best. Perhaps Dawnstar is slightly better.

Rokk is fast, dextrous, and by allowing the magnetic fields of the planet to "take him" where he needs to go, he can travel at near light speeds even within an atmosphere! His sense of magnetic fields and ley lines within any planet's atmosphere is instinctive, and his control is incredible.

Short distances are on par with keeping it within Mach 3, although he rarely has a need to get that fast. It is a terrible strain at medium speeds. Anything under Mach 1, and he can fly without concentrating too hard. After all, for him, it is instinctive.

Rokk can also travel interstellar distances, as he can sense the magnetic fields of black holes, wormholes, and interstellar drift. By using gravity and magentic fields, he can travel at intersteallar speeds for short durations and distances, such as system to system. He has only done this a handful of times, however, as it can be incredibly exhausting and dangerous.

Magnetic Field:
Rokk Krinn is a "magnetic field", very similar to a planet, himself. When inside a planetary body, and even, to a lesser extent, in space, he can feel how gravity and electromagnetism flows. He feels what the planet feels. He can sense when something is wrong, almost like a "sixth" sense. Rokk can feel an incoming event, whether an arriving aircraft, superhuman, or punch.

His instincts are not as developed in this area, but his senses are attuned to magnetic fields, and as such, he almost has a sense of split second events that are occurring in his immediate vicinity. If ready for it, he can avoid a punch. Or a bullet, traveling through his magnetic field. Energy comes too fast, but his abosrption would be instinctive. He would have to be off his guard to ever be shot. It is a kind of "radar".

Magnetic Manipulation:
Rokk Krinn's main powerset is his uncanny ability to control magnetic fields, the electromagnetic spectrum, and electrical energy the same as all members of the Braalian race can. The difference between Rokk and all members of his race are his origins, and his natural, prodigy-levels of control never before seen in his race.

His ability to control magnetic fields are head and shoulders above even the most gifted of his race. This has allowed him to become a two-time Intergalactic Magno Ball champion before he was 14 years old.

Rokk Krinn can use his instinctive control over these fields of energy to attract, repel, and manipulate these energy fields even down to a microscopic level in order to do several incredible power stunts. This includes energy, light, and subatomic particles. As his experience grows, his powerset will as well.

The more "metal" in an object or being, the easier it is for him to control this flow of energy. He can control objects of microscopic size to huge asteroid and moon or interstellar satellite-sized objects in space with MINIMAL effort. HGe can draw objects down into orbit to toss objects into orbit, he is that powerful.

Magnetic Shields:
One of Rokk's more common uses of his power are magnetic shields that protect himself, and others, up to a distance of several hundred meters. With concentration, these shields are nigh-impenetrable from enery, ballistic, kinetic, radiation and electro-magnetic attacks.

These shields are so powerful as to withstand several blows from several Daxamites at full strength for short durations, and has witstood a 1000 megaton explosion! This causes great strain, and can cause physical damage if it goes for long.

As the shield grows and gets larger, the harder it is to maintain over extended periods of time, and is usually only good for several minutes. Any longer, and the strain gets more and more difficult to maintain, depending on the size of the shield. A personal shield, he can maintain for hours. A shield for a half dozen, an hour or two. Anything more can be measured in minutes.

This use of his power can also be used to hold people within it's shell. This is very effective against villains who cannot fire within the shield or they would hurt themselves, and most beings up to Daxamite level cannot hope to break free. Rokk could, with incredible strain, split his concentration and do more than one shield, but it is very, very difficult.

Physiology:

Rokk Krinn is a Braalian, born into the magentic fields of Earth. As such, he has an extended lifespan that is above average than most humanoid beings. He will live well beyond 200 years old as most Braalians, and with his unique physiology, he could reach 300+ years old.

Braalians also have an extremely hardy immune system. It is rare for any Braalian to be sick, and their immune system can withstand even the most virile virus. Most toxins, diseases, and poisons have little to no effect on Braalians.

Braalians also heal extraordinarily fast, with many injuries that would take weeks or months for normal humanoids to heal, take days to weeks to heal. Rokk is at the upper level of healing due to his unique physiology, and so, he is rarely injured for long and never seems to get sick.

Skills

Athlete:
Rokk Krinn is an intergalactic United Planets Magno Ball Champion, and is only a few years removed from that. It is a very intense sport, of which he is known throughout the Galaxy as the greatest Champion of all time. He has taken these skills, of which is intimately connected to his super powers, and made it into a way to become a super hero. It requires intensive exercise, and he is an "Olympic" level athlete in comparison.

Covert:
Strangely enough, Rokk Krinn is very skilled at beaing sneaky when he has to be. Even though his image is the squeaky clean, "boy scout" and model superhero, he is actually well-versed in covert operations. He can be very quiet, and unnoticed when he wants to be. After all, most Legionnaires don't even know he is present, until he is there. Who do you think gave the Legion Espionage Squad the idea to become the LES? He is so good, that they don't even know it was his idea. After all, Brainy is good with numbers...Cos is good with people. All types of people.

History:
Rokk Krinn has studied history since the day he could read. He is the Legion's foremost expert on the 20th and 21st centuries (PhD level), has even studied the years between the 21st century right to the 31st century, although not as intense as the 21st century. As such, he knows a lot of what has happened, and MAY happen in the future, although time is very fluid. Rokk is too responsible to ever let his knowledge affect events or people in this century, at least on purpose.

Languages:
Rokk Krinn has traveled from one end of the Galaxy to another. Although most people can get lazy with universal translation technology in the future, Rokk has actually learned several languages with a natural ability. He has learned several languages from the intergalactic community, and even a few of those on Earth. Rokk knows Interlac, English, and most languages of the United Planets, including Durlan. Rokk also knows Khundish, Dominator, Kree, Shi'ar, Skrull, and Titanian, as well as bits and pieces of a few other interstellar empires.

Leadership:
Rokk Krinn is a born leader. Charismatic. Observant. Disciplined. A true leader who leads by example. His people will follow him to hell and back, because they know he will be at the head of the charge, willing to sacrifice himself before he would ever consider sacrificing others. He has the "gift of the speech" and can increase morale just with a smile and a word.

Pilot:
Rokk Krinn is very skilled at flying advanced aircraft and spacecraft, from this century and the future. He is also an above average "flyer", under his own power, as he has spent years training in using his abilities against the worse the Galaxy has to offer. Although it may take a few moments to become familiar with a 21st century craft, he will get the hang of it in no time. Usually. He is not the best Legion flyer, but he is in the top 5.

Politics:
Who would have ever thought that Rokk Krinn, Magnoball Champion, would ever be good at something as mundane as politics? Local politics. Regional politics. Planetary politics. Interplanetary politics. Intergalactic politics. It seems that he has picked up how to be the liaison between the United Planets, the Science Police, and the status of where the Legion fits into this whole political landscape. He has discovered that he can use his natural charm and charisma to walk these halls of power, and come away with a win. Most of the time.

Science and Technology:
Rokk Krinn is actually a high level intellect. Although not a 12th level intellect, he is actually on par with other Legionnaires such as Nura Nal and Lyle Norg. Most Legionnaires don't know this, but a few suspect. Although he prefers reading about history, he has a natural affinity for science and technology, especially physics and engineering.

This allows him to use his powers at their greatest potential. Rokk has actually torn apart and repaired a time travel sphere in the future when it was broken, nearly destroyed, and nigh-irrepairable! It is hard to spend many years watching Brainy and Lyle do their science stuff without picking up a few things.

Self Defense:
Rokk Krinn is a very skilled martial artist. He is probably in the top 5 martial artists in the Legion, behind Karate Kid, Saturn Girl, Dream Girl, and maybe one or two others. He is a dedicated, unimaginative fighter, and so, he is very, very good, but is predictable in many ways. He trains every day, and keeps himself in perfect fighting form with an intensive regimen.

Strategy and Tactics:
Rokk Krinn is a "grandmaster" level, extremely skilled tactician and strategist, and naturally sees a battlefield and how to best use his resources to win the fight. He has fought the greatest villains and armies of the future and has never lost a battle. He knows his Legionnaires and their talents so well, that he can use them to their best advantage when he is the leader and in charge.

Even the Admirals, Generals, and Politicians of the United Planets and the Science Police defer to him in the future as they know he has also considered their troops as well in his strategy. As such, Rokk is extremely perceptive and imaginative, with incredible instincts. He rarely, if ever, makes a bad decision when he is well-informed.

Time:

Rokk Krinn has a special relationship with time. You see, yes, he has a firm grasp for physics and astrophysics, including temporal theory, temporal mechanics and time travel. However, in a possible future reality, Rokk Krinn is the Time Trapper. A being ancient and powerful, who watches over the time stream.

Now, with his powers, Rokk has a special relationship with the universe, but understands how the ebbs and flows of gravity, space, time, energy, and electromagnetism work. One of the few times Brainy was going off about time, thinking no one was listening, Rokk chimed in, correcting him on his theory - and Rokk was right. It actually left Brainy speechless.

Resources

Costume:
Rokk's costume is made of futuristic, self-repairing Legion technology, tougher than anything on Earth and advanced for even the United Planets. It can resist small arms fire and bladed weapons with little pain, larger weapons and even energy weapons with pain, and the chance of penetration depending on how powerful they are.

Any damage that the costume takes will heal over time, depending on how significant the damage is, from minutes to hours to days for almost complete destruction.

Rokk has four "pouches" on his belt, with a few odds and ends, just for the right moment. This allows him to store his civilian clothing and Legion items, such as his telepathic plugs, transuit, and omnicom.

Rokk has four metallic, nigh-indestructible cylindrical "spheres" on his costume as well, for those times when enemies using no metallic objects are present.

Legion Flight Ring:
Rokk has been bestowed with a Legion Flight Ring. This ring, which is keyed to each individual's DNA, allows the wearer to fly under its own power through the wielder's mental control, traveling at near mach 3 speeds if necessary. Although Rokk doesn't need this aspect of the ring as he can fly under his own power, it has other abilities such as: a communicator, able to talk to other people who have flight rings, capable of communicating at a distance of light years without lag!

Legion Gear:
Rokk has several items from his time as a Legionnaire and stores many of them on his belt in small pouches. This gear includes an Omnicom (an information storage/retrieval and scanner device); Telepathic plugs (allowing him to communicate with others even in hostile environments, like space or alien worlds or translate languages unknown to Rokk); a Transuit (which allows a person to survive in hostile environments, like space or alien worlds). Several other miscellaneous, minor items like tools and a few futuristic gadgets. Nothing significant.

Legion of Super-Heroes:

Rokk is a founding member, and the first leader of the Legion of Super-Heroes, and has been a member ever since. He has been Legion leader, deputy leader, and been on thousands of missions for the team. He can call upon them for help when necessary, and they can call on him, including all resources of the team. When they are around, or available. As his memory returns, it will include the members currently in the 21st century.

Weaknesses

Confidence:
The problem that Rokk has, and has had since the beginning, is a bit of a self-confidence issue. The reality is, he is one of the most powerful beings in the United Heroes Universe. His powers are actually incredibly "Omega" level, and if he ever lost control, he could rip planets apart. However, he has always had that self-doubt, that issue that, is he really good enough? Can he do what is asked of him? This has always held him back from his true potential.

Enemies:
Rokk Krinn has made a lot of enemies in his time as a Legionnaire. As their leader, many of those very, very powerful beings tend to target him first when trying to take down the Legion. As such, he tends to be a target, not just for experienced villains like the Fatal Five, Mordru, the Time Trapper, Universo, etc., but also new villains they meet in any time.

Guilt:
His mother's death devastated him. Rokk feels responsible for her death. After all, after he became a successful Magno Ball champion, he used his newfound wealth to bring his family back to Earth...where his mother was killed in a terrorist attack that he should have prevented. This guilt is another factor in holding his true potential back, and every anniversary, he mourns for the loss that he, even indirectly, caused.

Non-Magnetic:
One major weakness that he has is obvious. His magnetic powers cannot affect anything that is non-metallic in any way. Organic materials, glass, wood, plastic, etc. cannot be affected by his powers. In all of these cases, he would need to get creative to be able to affect them at all. The least amount of metallic material in an object, the lesser extent his powers have on that object, and the less control he has.

Ptsd:

Rokk Krinn has seen a lot in his short life. He has seen his mother killed in an explosion. He has been in countless battles, from the Fatal Five, the Dominators, the Khund War, the Great Darkness, and on and on. He has seen friends die, and allies killed in front of him. He has led the team into countless battles, and this takes its toll on him. The hard part is, he denies this darkness inside him, fighting to keep it hidden from others.
