Phoenix has posed:
Planning. Organizing. Changing those plans. Organizing again. Now that the day of graduation is here, it's gone by in a blur. The school was scrubbed top to bottom over the past few days. The kitchens were at work since before dawn. Staff and students alike spent the early morning getting ready for events to get underway around ten. Everyone on the lawn. Speeches. More speeches. Diplomas. Another speech. Now, like a wave that crashed to shore, the main events are done. Everyone had gone different ways to eat, play basketball, hang with friends, dance, and spend time with some family who'd come.

Jean was finally catching her breath. She was coming back outside after switching out of formal attire and checking on everything inside. She's got on an ivory knee-length dress that's decorated with a tasteful array of flowers in rose and blue. She's got on heeled gladiator sandals, with a rose gold comb holding back the bulk of her hair from her face and a light array of jewelry to match. She's talking with one of the school staff who's got a monster sized checklist, and after a brief chat and some notes, the woman scurries back inside while Jean heads out to the lawn to finally mingle instead of hyperactively supervise.

Rage has posed:
"I have to say, Miss Grey. Oscar De La Renta looks fabulous on you." Andrea says as she offers the Head Mistress a broad grin on her face. The popstarlet is wearing a hit at the knees sun dress of a light sky blue color, filled with multiple botanical images such as butterflies and flowers. On her feet is a pair of sandles that wrap upwards to nearly her knee in a stunning white color. "I'm glad you talked me into this one instead of the black. It's definitely more breezy."

Giving herself a few sways side to side to let the fabric dance along her body, she tucks her hair back behind her ear. The brown hair has been dyed a bit more red than usual with a few streaks of blonde throughout it. She has on a touch of makeup, just enough to make her lips glossy and her eyes shimmering with smoke.

"I do believe tonight we are going to celebrate at the club if you and Mister Summers wanted to attend and see a show. I am dragging Jay and his guitar out so that we can show off a few songs we worked together through the year. Then maybe dinner afterwards."

Nightingale has posed:
There were a few Shannon knew that would be graduating and very likely moving on. People came and went here, it was a simple, bittersweet fact of life at a school such as this, a place she'd come to call home. But nothing said it could or would go unacknowledged. Shortly after commencement, when everyone dispersed to mingle and enjoy the day in a more relaxed atmosphere, the winged healer in training disappeared into the mansion for a little while, to catch her breath, reflect, and to retrieve a few gifts here and there.

She's not empty-handed when she emerges from the mansion, bearing three packages of considerable size and very likely heft; one is wrapped in fiery red, shiny paper with ribbon of a darker crimson hue, one is wrapped in shimmery silver with a snowy white ribbon, and the other was about as pink as it could get all around. Her dress is a little bit surprising, reminiscent of an off-shoulder peasant blouse in pale blue lace, with modesty layers beneath reaching down to just above her knees. But the lacy layer extends to her ankles, and she's wearing a surprisingly strappy, silvery little pair of sandals with low heels to complete the outfit. Her hair is long and loose, and to this day, she maintains the pale blue braid that she's sported since just before Thanksgiving, silver beads on the end and all.

Gifts in hand, she makes her way amongst the graduates, with a smile and a word of congratulations for each she encounters.

Pixie has posed:
Phew, what a busy, exciting and totally exhausting day all rolled into one! Megan was of course happy to be graduating from grade school finally, although she was eager to take a year or two off before going to college. All the same, it's time to celebrate and enjoy life. And she sure had a lot of fond memories of school, enough that she hoped to become an official xmen soon, and perhaps even stay on as a TA.r
After formalities were over, she had changed into a gorgeous black tulle dress embroidered with hundreds of flowers of all colours and shapes. For once it's a long dress that nearly sweeps the floor, it's colours somewhat reminiscent of her brief time as the more gothic bat winged girl..

Thankfully her wings have since reverted to their more cheerful translucent dragonfly style, that goes well with her overall outfit, accented with sparse silver jewelry, her shoulder length pink and black hair adorned with a black hair band adorned with a single yellow rose that matches the black strappy sandals, each adorned in similar roses.

She giggles as she attempts to sneak behind Andrea and wrap her hands over her eyes. "Guess whooo!?"

Phoenix has posed:
"It's too nice of a day for all black. This is a party, not a funeral." Jean says to Andrea as she hears her name called. "Even if I maybe got a little teary-eyed. Just don't tell anyone, I'll deny it. As for tonight, I imagine we're going to be meeting with the staff. We tend to get together after the party ends proper to celebrate another year done." Which is probably code for they all head to Harry's for beers.

She's looking up just before Megan tries to give Andrea a spook, a grin widening on her face and she takes a few steps back to give the two some space to chat. It's during that period that she spies a set of white wings out of the corner of her eye.

"Shannon! You're looking lovely. Need a hand finding anyone? Everyone has kind of exploded and spread out all over the lawn."

Rage has posed:
"I promise not to tell anyone." Andrea says with a grin to Jean, tipping a wink at her. "Well, either way, the invitiation is out there for you if you want to see how we throw down after hours at the club. Maybe give that 'other' dress a twirl."

When she is snuck up on from behind, she lets out a laugh, followed by a sniff at the air. "Mmmmmegan?" She says, turning around to give her friend a strong embrace. "I knew that would look incredible on you! That dress pops so fierce." She says as she takes her by the hands, swaying them back and forth with a giggle. "I know you're coming tonight, right? Bring your keyboard and keep your throat warm. It's past time we had a proper duet."

"I can't believe we made it. Through Reavers, Sentinels and food fights. We finally graduated."

Nightingale has posed:
A light smile is offered to miss Grey, and shakes her head. "I think I've spotted them, but it looks as if they need a moment. It's nothing that can't wait." The young woman shifts her packages a bit, balancing the weight of them on one hip. There had been many a late night in the past couple of months, nights filled with the gentle, mechanical hum and clickety-clacking of a sewing machine in full swing.

A blush of shame colors her cheeks as she looks from Andrea, to Megan, and to miss Grey, finally glancing down at her own dress, so much more modest and homely than the ones around her. Her wings furl themselves about her like a snowy, feathery cocoon, shielding her plumage mostly from view. "Everyone looks stunning," she murmurs. "And they deserve to, today of all days."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn giggles and nods to Andrea, "Heey, we survived it all, cuz we rock!" she sighs a bit, "Though I'll miss you here, you'd better visit!" she gives her hands a little squeeze before stepping back to look at her dress, "Thanks! you look pretty stunning yourself!" she nods and grins, "I'd love to come, can I bring a date too?" she blushes ever so slightly as she says that, before looking around.

Jean is given a smile and bob of her head, "Hi Miss Grey! Love the dress! And you too Shannon, you both look sooo gorgeous!" she does peer curiously at that bright pink package with interest. "Ooooo what have you got there?" dragonfly wings flutter more quickly now, shimmering hues of pink to violet excitedly.

Phoenix has posed:
"Tsk." Jean tuts gently at Shannon and gives the young woman a wider smile. "As do you. This is a day to celebrate the achievements of our graduates, but also to come together as a family and celebrate that bond - by blood, circumstance, and choice. I know that several of our alumni are currently availing themselves of the food as we speak."

"Ah, thank you, Megan. You as well." Cheerfully says the Headmistress, with just a delicate, amused arch of a brow at mention of a date. She lightly folds her hands in front of her and falls quiet for a time, letting the girls speak amongst themselves.

Rage has posed:
"Of course you can." Andrea says in regards to bringing a date. "I can't wait to meet him, and then give him the big bad wolf talk about 'if you hurt my best friend' blah blah blah." She says, bumping her hip up against hers teasingly. "And I'm going to miss you too, but I'll be here in the city. Jay and I are going to NYU and moving into my condo in Manhattan. So I'll drop by and visit and you guys can always come to my place and hang out as well."

As Megan calls out to Shannon, she turns and looks over towards the other winged girl and offers up a warm smile, giving a wave as well. "Hey, Shannon. You look beautiful. I love your dress. Who's the designer?" She asks, honestly curious and excited.

Nightingale has posed:
The hue of Shannon's face deepens a bit, but at least this time it is accompanied by a gentle ruffling of her wings, and a loosening of the grip the feathery cocoon has about her. "Thanks, both of you," she replies, but then glances to Megan. Her lips curl upwards for a moment, and she slides the pink package out from the pile and holds it out to the pixie-winged young woman.

"You want to find out what it is, then go on and open it!" she says, her smile turning into something of a Cheshire Cat grin. The paper is crinkly, but the package itself, while hefty, is actually quite soft and squishy. What on earth could it be?

Andrea's query about her dress has her face turning a few different shades of rose, as if she hasn't discovered several new ones already. "Thank you... but there's no designer," she murmurs. "Just a lot of late nights on the sewing machine. Lace can be a real pain to work with, but it was worth it." She smiles a bit at the popstarlet, and offers her the other two packages. "The red one is for Jay, and the silver is for you. Like Starlight," she continues. "And Megan's right. Don't be a stranger, okay?"

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn giggles, blushing some more at Andrea. "Welll....Didn't exactly ask him if he will come but..He DID promise me a date, after all the craziness with the gremlins was over.." she does glance a bit shyly at Jean as she says that, mostly because Scott had barked something about 'detention' the moment Logan jumped the gun and called him her ' boyfriend '.

Which he hopefully forgot! Which Jean isn't about to hold her to! Which was hopefully a joke!

Megan laughs a bit nervously, shrugging. "Er...Suuure, Ill introduce you to him...Hahah.." mention of food is made though and she perks those pointy elfin ears of hers, nose twitching at the scent of food. "Meep! I'd better head there soon..." because she's got a crazy big appetite - must be the wings!

But first is the gift and Megs looooves the gifts! "Oooo thanks sooo much, Shan!" she giggles and proceeds to hug her as well before focusing on the gift. "Wooow, you made that dress? That's incredible!"

Phoenix has posed:
"No one better be a stranger when they leave this school!" Jean proclaims with a point of her finger to the lot. "I at least need emails and pictures once in awhile, make sure all my kids are in one piece and doing good and eating enough and all of that. Otherwise I'll be showing up on your doorstep and I will find the most inopportune time to do so. Understood?" Her tone is all business, but her face is nothing but proud affection.

"She'll do it too!" Comes the shout of one student who'd graduated two years past as he walks by, with cheese cubes speared on several long, spindly claw fingers.

She looks to packages as they'd be opened in turn, saying towards Shannon, "I'm envious of your talent, Shannon. I'm terrible with a needle and thread. I was told to try it once to help give my mind something to focus on, but I'd usually just accidentally stab myself and toss the whole idea."

And if knowing just what thought was going through Megan's head, Jean glances back her way and says calmly with her eyes full of mirth, "Megan, Mr. Summers would like to speak with you later about something. After all of the celebrations, of course. There's no rush."

Rage has posed:
"Yes, mom." Andrea says to Jean with a cheeky grin along her lips. "I promise to write, to send pictures, and to do my laundry."

"Make sure he comes. Be aggressive. B. E. Aggressive." She says to Megan in regards to inviting over the mysterious 'boy' to the club. "Is it who I think it is? Starts with a C, rhymes with honor?"

Taking the packages from Shannon, her brows lift upwards a bit. She puts the one for Jay on a table for the moment as she goes about carefully unwrapping hers. "You really made that dress yourself? That's so cool. I wish I was crafty like that, or even had the time to put something like that together. Well, maybe I'll hit you up for a commission one of these days and show it off in a music video or on a runway. I can say I am friends with /the/ designer Shannon Lance. I bet that will cause a few million Google hits to happen."

When she pulls out the quilt, her eyes widen. "Oh. Shannon, this is /so/ cute. I love it. Thank you so much."

Nightingale has posed:
Okay, so maybe, just /maybe/ there's a tiny bit of a grin on Shannon's face, and a very light nudge to miss Grey's shoulder. "Oh come on," she quips. "I bet you could manage. At least enough to sew a button on if you need to!" To both her and Andrea, she grins a bit more, albeit sheepishly, unfurling her wings rather pointedly. "When you have these on your back, it's just good sense to be able to sew enough to adjust clothes to fit. But today needed something a bit more special."

She whistles and nudges Megan, giggling softly at her. "I think Andrea's got you figured out there," she remarks. "Though, speaking of dates..." My, my, my. Were her cheeks going flame red now? "Ummmm, what time's that thing at the club again?"

Ahem. Off the subject of mysterious dates--of which she did /not/ have one, nope!--and on to that of dresses and designs! "Hey. You're crafty in your own way. We all are, really. Just some of us work in one medium, some in multiple. And sure, if you need something made, just ask. I'm no Vera Wang, but I put my own damn stamp on things."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn eeps as she opens her own gift and squeaks some more, holding it up, "Omigosh, it's soooo cute! Butterflies! Heee! Thanks Shan!" to Andrea she just blushes some more, biting her lip. "Ummmmmmaybe...? Buut.. Dunno about being ummm...Aggressive.." more nervous laughter follows.

But she swallows, glancing more nervously towards Jean, "Ummmmmmm about..What..? Cuz...I never told him anything about this school and to be fair, HE crash landed right outside the school first time we met, and he volunteered to help me fight gremlins because they attacked him too and he did a good job of helping everyone out and it's totally not fair and I never, ever sneaked him to my dorm ever and...And...!"

Megs only allows her self to take the tiniest breath before continuing. "...And I totally don't deserve to be grounded for that..." she pouts a bit at the end, her celebratory mood a bit spoiled now.

Phoenix has posed:
Jean Grey watches Megan blankly as she defends her paramour, letting her speak and likely soaking up a few new details before a slow smile widens across her face. "It's not about that, Megan." Omega level troll, she is. "Relax, it's nothing to be worried about. You're not in trouble. Enjoy yourself! Like I said, it can wait. I just wanted to give you a head's up since he's preoccupied at the moment."

"Anyway, I'll let you three talk without a nosey teacher here. I'm going to check if the food needs restocked, I'm pretty sure it does by now. I'll be over in the tent if you need me."

Rage has posed:
"You can totally do it. Just text him with something like .. Hey, I'm going to this party to celebrate my graduation. I'll be singing. If you can show up at eight that would be fantastic. I /really/ want to see you tonight." Andrea bobs her head with a grin. "Trust me, he'll come running. Especially if you text him with a picture of that dress we picked out." Her brows waggle. "He'll need some help picking that jaw off the floor."

As she carefully folds the quilt back up, she slides it into the wrapping paper so that it won't get dirty, then applies the tape so it doesn't peel apart. "If you have any other designs on paper laying about, Shannon, I'd love to peek at them if you want to take some pictures. Your dress really is good and I have friends in high places that may need an intern or something if you wanted to peek into that industry and see about a career in fashion design. It's pretty fun, but super competitive. I think you'd learn a lot and it's good exposure."

Giving a wave to Jean, she passes her a smile. "Let me know if you need any help as well, Miss Grey." Sliding her phone out of her pocket, she taps out a message to Jay, then leans over to the two girls to snap a selfie of the three, followed by a couple of heart emojis.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon tilts her head and seems to consider this a moment. "I'm not sure I'd want that to be my focus," she muses. "Heck, I'm a healer and never giving that up. But maybe a peek into the industry could be fun, at least I could see for myself and be real sure about it." She pauses, thinking for a moment and ruffling her wings. A nod is given to the request for designs on paper, and she smiles a bit. "Sure, I could fire some off if you like. Heh, here's to the 'Mutie Cutie' fashion line!"

Megan gets a gentle elbow to the ribs, and a knowing grin. "Andrea's right, you know," she teases. "You've got a good one there. Let him know you want to spend the time with him. If he's even half as crazy about you as he seemed, then he'll be here faster than a speeding bullet." She coughs, and turns flame red. "Speaking of, I'd better take my own advice."

A smile curls her lips upwards as she sees that the quilts were well-received by both women. The selfie is taken, much laughter shared, and she just listens for a little while... perhaps a bit lost in thought, by the twinkle in her eyes...?

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn just stares at Jean for a moment or two, trying to figure that one out. "...Um....I'm not? Umm....Heheh...Er...Okay!" more nervous laughter erupts from her, along with a sigh of relief as Jean heads off. To Andrea she just nods and bites her lip, "Y-yeah, I'll do that, I mean Err...How'd you even know he and I were..I thought no one knew, I mean..I didn't exactly advertise it but..You know, he's pretty busy a lot, being a super hero and all, but...I'll..."

She peers intently at Shannon, "Oooh that's right! Sooo did you and Drake finally get together? You gonna bring him? He seems nice! And he's pretty cute too!" she grins and winks at her.

Rage has posed:
Giving a wink to Megan, Andrea looks amused. "Wolf nose." She taps herself on the end of her nose gently.

"Cool beans. I look forward to seeing them. It won't hurt to poke around though to see if you like it. If not, you could always make a killing just selling designs and collecting a commission."

She gives a perk upwards as she spies someone waving to her. "I'll be back in a bit guys. I just need to take a few pictures with my parents." She gives another bright smile to the pair, then heads off as she clutches the two quilt packages to her chest with one arm, waving her hand to the pair. One is a tall, lanky red headed man who practically radiates a calm tranquility. The other is a shorter, muscled woman with an eyepatch and heavy scars along one side of her face. She smells of military.

Prismatic has posed:
You know who the least popular people are? The people who show up to parties, late, with an acoustic guitar. Bunch of posers playing 'wonder wall' and random Death Cab for Cutie songs.

-- oh, wait, no, this one is Alexis, who was in fact here earlier to see her first round of students graduating, and had maybe cried a little bit.

She had changed from the demure gray and cream dress she had worn to the graduation proper into jeans and burnt orange T-shirt, having been mistaken for a student (*and a Freshman!*) by one or two sets of relatives.

Phoenix has posed:
It didn't take long for Jean to buzz in refill orders to the kitchen for the food tables. She can be seen chatting with a few alumni and then be swept up by parents who've visited. Bit by bit, she peels herself away from the crowds to start heading back towards the open area of the lawn in front of the school. The quick of eye would see her let out a quick sigh of relief as she did a quick re-pinning of her hair on the way.

"Ah, hey, Alexis!" She does not mistake the teacher for a student as she passes nearby. "Planning to save us from preloaded playlists for a bit?"

Rage has posed:
After talking with her parents, taking some pictures and signing a couple of autographs for some incoming Freshman, Andrea makes her way back over towards Jean and Alexis, giving a bright smile to the pair. "Hey, Alexis, nice seeing you again. I never did get your critique on the Italian last night. So, on a scale of one to ten, how would you rate The Dove?"

She's wearing a blue dress she picked up from Oscar's last night, designed with flowers and butterflies and hits just at the knees. Surprisingly, it cost less than Jean's. She has restraint. "My parents say hello by the way. They are on their way out to their hotel to get changed and then find dinner."

Prismatic has posed:
Andrea showing restraint had shocked the heck out of Alexis.

"Hullo Jean, not unless someone proposes they need saving. This was more an... in case of overwhelment. I could always nip down to the lake for a breather." Alexis admits to Jean -- after all, pretty useless to lie to a psychic.

At the other familiar voice though, she turns Andrea!" she gives a smile to the no-longer-a-student, and tucks her hands behind her own back as she looks up. "Well. On a scale of one to Nonna, I would rate it a solid... eight? I mean there's just nothing that beats your own grandmother's cooking."

Phoenix has posed:
"Nah, so far we're good, but if you get the itch feel free to take over the stage." Jean says to Alexis. "Standing offer. I checked in with our pyrotechnic experts," Those being one Dazzler and Jubilee. "And they're ready to light up the sky tonight. Everything's going nice and smooth, just the way I like it."

She looks back over to Andrea as she makes her way back over. "Well, give your parents my best if I don't manage to catch up with them, though I'll try. That dinner was great, though now Alexis' stories about her Nonna have me wondering what I've been missing all of my life."

Rage has posed:
"If you're giving The Dove an eight, I'll consider it to be a high compliment. I can't wait to try your Nona's food myself." Andrea says with a lick of her lips hungrily, much like a wolf. Growl. "So, last night after I got back home, Jay stopped over and I gave him the scholarship. I thought he was going to cry. Instead, he told me he loved me."

There is a triumphant look upon her face as she blows some blonde streaked hair away from her face. "So, we're going to both attend NYU together. He's going to give college a chance and I can't be any happier for him." Her cheeks flush slightly as she scuffs her foot against the grass lightly. "Took him long enough."

Prismatic has posed:
"Well, perhaps I could arrange a trip to Italy for a little while, Sam certainly didn't mind the change fo air--" Alexis glances slyly to Jean, pursing her lips as she plots, and she steeples her fingers with a grin. As Andrea returns, the young woman gives a soft 'huh' sound.

"Are you sure NYU will be able to handle the both of you? I don't suppose you'll experience dorm life on campus." she teases lightly, and she touches Andrea's shoulder. "I'm happy for and proud of the both of you. It's no small feat!"

Phoenix has posed:
"About time indeed." Jean says with a wide grin, though she doesn't look surprised. "You'll find menfolk are pretty reliable at taking forever to admit how they feel. I wish you both the best. College should be a friendlier place with a familiar face with you." There's a quiet laugh from Jean as she looks towards Alexis, "Well, the college may be in for a bit of trouble. Just a little."

Rage has posed:
"I already got accepted to Zeta Tau Alpha. Sorority." Andrea says with a bright smile. "But, I plan on living at my condo in Manhattan and I'm moving Jay in with me. That way he doesn't have to pay for dorms. Cheaper option. You know." She has the most wolfish look upon her face.

"I have no clue if NYU can handle us both, or even me, but I plan on bringing Xavier pride in the form of awareness and my voice to the school. You'll definitely see me on the news. Hopefully for the right reasons. As opposed to being shot at or ran through with swords."

She bobs a bit from foot to foot in a side by side sway, giving her arms a swing. "Speaking of my hunky rooster, he's out with his family right now celebrating. The whole pack is here. I flew them out for the occasion."

Prismatic has posed:
"Good on him, though I can't imagine a fond nickname for your lo-- *OH*." Alexis pauses, her eyes going wide, and her cheeks and ears turning a bit red. "OH Nevermind, not going to even -- don't you say a word, Andrea, not a thought!"

Phoenix has posed:
"Good! I'm glad they came." Jean says to Andrea, sounding as pleased as she says she is. "It's been awhile since I've seen them, hopefully they come swing by the school. It's nice to catch up with the families. A lot of our students don't have the chance, so for the ones who are supportive, it's always an honor to have them here.

The ribbing about boyfriends brings Jean to stifle a giggle under her hand and a distracting gesture of fixing her hair. She just keeps her opinions to herself on the matter.

Rage has posed:
There's a wide grin on Andrea's face as she raises her brows at Alexis. "He has red wings. That's why I call him Rooster. Southern bird. You know." She lets out a soft laugh. ".. I called him something else last night though, and a few times this morning." Oh-Ho-Ho.

She gives a long stretch of her body out, arching her spine to pop a few joints. "I'm sure they'll all come flooding in soon enough and cramming themselves in the kitchen. Ma' Guthrie will probably take over cooking or something."

Prismatic has posed:
"She is a force to be reckoned with." Alexis confirms quietly, the poor Brit having been the subject of a Christmas with the Guthries.

She exhales, and leans back a bit, doing her best to ignore Andrea's words as she fiddles about with her guitar a moment, testing a few strings.

"... Andrea, I did want to ask -- were you still interested in a joint project? I mean, I know you'll be busy with classes, and I'll be busy, with classes..."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie comes walking up a bit after this luckily. He had a few errands he had to run, including going into town to pick up things the little ones has assured ma they had packed and of course they had not. This is normal though and so the young man will walk over and hug Alexis from behind "Hello ladies."

Phoenix has posed:
"The matron of that family would need to be a force of nature. She's got my respect." Jean chuckles as she loosely crosses her arms over her chest by way of resting them. She's standing not far from the school in the lawn, chatting with Alexis and Andrea. She's got a mid-length ivory dress on, sporting rose and blue flowers, with her hair pinned back with a rose gold comb.

As if hearing their name spoken, it seems that the first of the Guthries is arriving. "Hello, Sam. How're you doing? Rest of the family stopping by soon?"

Rage has posed:
"Of course we are!" Andrea says to Alexis with a wide grin. "Tonight at Club Evo I'm gonna be doing a 'thing', including a sneak peek of some new singles off my upcoming album. If you want, you should come up on stage and play with me. I got a track that should be easy enough to pick up tonight and I can do it acoustic."

"Hey, Sam." She says with a wide grin on her face. "Did Jay tell you the good news yet or is he still keeping you in suspense?" That could mean a number of things.

Wolverine has posed:
Logan finally arrives. And boy does he look out of place. Dressed in his usual attire: red flannel, blue jeans, a pair of boots, and a brownish/tan corduroy jacket. And around his next is as classy as he'll ever get as he wears a western-style bola. Even then he keeps adjusting it as his comfort level is far below zero. Between his teeth he bites down on an unlit cigar, which he keeps rolling in his mouth from side to side.

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis, having changed out of the gray dress she had worn through the ceremony in the morning and into some more comfortable and familiar jeans and T-shirt gives a squeak as she's hugged from behind, holding her guitar out a little bit from her body. "SAM!" she gasps out, giving a bit of a laugh -- and the brunette gives a wave to Logan. "Afternoon Logan!"

Warpath has posed:
Not dressed any better than Logan, Jimmy arrives in a pair of dark jeans and a white t-shirt. His usual combat boots cover his feet and he settles at the edge of things to look over what is going on before making his way any furthur into the gathering.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and resists the urge to rest his chin on the top of Alexis' head. "They should be coming out and about soon, Ma has them changing out of their Sunday clothes, knowing the real little ones gonna be running around with the rest of us trying to herd them like cats." He smiles a bit at this, and looks over to Andrea a brow raised and says "Well what should he have told me?"

Rage has posed:
"If he hasn't told you, I don't know if I should spoil it." Andrea has one of those wolfish grins upon her face. She is looking rather smug this evening. She's dressed in a stunning sundress from Oscar De La Renta with a price tag that costs more than most Manhattan rentals and a pair of stylish white sandles that lace up to her knees. The popstar is radiating an energy about her.

"Hello Logan, James." The young New Mutant says to the two warriors as she lifts a hand up, complete with a bottle of water in which she takes a quick sip from. "So, graduation is here. I'll miss you two." She admits as she rubs the back of her neck. "Not the whole .. throwing me around in the Danger Room part. But you know, the life lessons you imprinted upon me."

Phoenix has posed:
"They can storm around all they want. It's a party, let them have fun." Jean says to Sam with a wave of her hand towards the yard as a whole. She glances towards Andrea at her question and tease, giving her head a light shake with a quiet chuckle. Oh it sounds like she knows, but she's not giving up the secret. Because distraction!

"Hello, gentlemen!" She calls over to Logan and James as they make their appearances, one slender hand raising in a wave. Now she does laugh more openly at what Andrea says and teases the young woman, "The tossing wasn't your favorite part? Strange, our graduation interviews are usually the opposite."

Wolverine has posed:
"Well that's all up t' you. Remember the Institute aslo runs graduate and college courses." Logan seems to grumble out to Andrea. And yes he did read a majority of the staff materials for the higher learning part of the schools curriculum. Be amazed.

Warpath has posed:
Looking towards Andrea, James nods his head in response to her greeting. There is almost a smirk there in the comment about the tossing around, but not quite. He looks glances towards Logan when he mentions the furthuring education.
Lastly his attention focuses on Jean and the deep, but quiet voice of the big man is finally heard as he replies,"Ms. Grey." Talkative he isn't, but friendly-ish at least. Graduation seems to have in curiosity engaged at least.

Prismatic has posed:
"Ooh, that should be interesting..." Alexis murmurs to herself, and she gives a little bit of a smile as she tilts her head back, looking up to Sam. Being short has its trials and tribulations. Having a tall boyfriend was one of them.

"They haven't discovered The Warrior Joe, have they? He's probably hiding in the closet."

Rage has posed:
"Tossing was definitely a highlight." Andrea says with a grin as she tips a wink at Jean. "I think I definitely proved myself over the last two years and came out of it a stronger person." Leaning in, she gives Logan a bump to the shoulder. "I have accepted a degree program at NYU, so I will be sticking around in the area, just not living here at the school. But, I have a condo in Manhattan that you're more than welcome to visit if anyone wants to hang out and have a barbeque on my deck. It has this amazing view of the entire city."

Taking another sip of her bottled water, she bobs about on her feet a bit side to side. "Maybe tomorrow we can have one last sparring session in the DR for old times. With all the cramming for finals, I haven't had a chance to work up a good sweat."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smirks a bit and says "Well I think He found Cissie, or she found him, but either way he seems happy, he is getting scritches and food fed to him like he was a king, and she aint letting no one else bug him. He might think he is King Joe by the time she heads home. " He looks over and nods to Logan and James "Hey." He says in greeting, and then looks to Jean "Think Melody is ready to enroll, and hates she has to wait till the fall."

Wolverine has posed:
As he pulls away from some of the conversations Logan starts to look around. "Wait I was told there would be beer." he mutters as he continues his search.

Phoenix has posed:
"Melody, already?" Jean says to Sam with a widening of green eyes. She lets out a quiet whistle as she leans back, clearly processing this new. "Wow, did those years fly by. That can't be right, she was just a baby, I swear! Like, this high..." Shaking her head with a huff of laughter, she says to the eldest Guthrie, "Well, if it'll make her feel better and give your mother some peace, maybe she can pick out a room while she's here. Legacy students reap the benefits."

She glances over to Logan then with a knowing squint. "Student function, so no bar. But, we do have a stash in a cooler in the far tent. Also, teacher roundup at Harry's after the fireworks."

Warpath has posed:
Crossing his arms, James continues to watch over things. A moment of curiosity when Logan goes in search of beer, but it passes. His attention moves to Sam and he nods. The mention of another round in the Danger Room draws a little bit of amusement to his eyes. Absently his right index and middle fingers trace over the side of his arm.

Rage has posed:
"I am putting on a bit of a show tonight at Club Evo, which you should come to instead, Miss Grey." Andrea teases Jean a bit. "They have alcohol there as well, and it will give you guys a chance to see me in action in what I do for my every day career. I plan on tearing the roof down." She says as she takes another sip.

Prismatic has posed:
"It'll be good to see her, though I fear for the amount of flying lessons that are going to have to be controlled -- or you know, logged with the local airport." Alexis teases slightly, looking to Andrea and giving a content smile, looking out at all the other students.

"I don't think I can perform if the other teachers come to Club Evo."

Wolverine has posed:
Logan had to go as far as to sneak into the house and fill all his pockets with beers. He's not sure who they belong to, but they were needed. As he returns to the soiree with spoils of the mansion, Logan hands James a bottle. The kid, much like him was out of place and looked like he needed a dring better then punch.

Phoenix has posed:
"You all go have fun, Andrea!" Jean says to the singer. "Without stuffy old teachers like me sitting there making everyone nervous. Grab your friends and go party. I know I'll catch some of your performances in the future, but tonight if for all of you to go enjoy yourselves." She glances then towards the darkening sky with a low, considering noise in her throat. "And the fireworks should be starting shortly, on that note."

Warpath has posed:
Uncrossing his arms, the man/mountain decides to walk towards he can get something to drink. People coming and going get Warpath's attention long enough to mark who it is and then he goes back to getting a drink.
A lot of people in and getting bigger.
The arrival of Logan and the bottle of beer gets a nod,"Thanks." he comments and opens the bottle. Out of place is an understatement. He isn't awkward really. That would require concern of perception first. None the less he is clearly glad for the beer and an excuse to be distracted by it a moment.

Nightingale has posed:
It had been a while since the Guthrie clan had been at the school. Heavens, the last time Shannon had seen them was around Thanksgiving, and that had been a true treat. It was something she was looking forward to now, and had spent a few hours resting up for; a family as boisterous and loving as that could take a great amount of energy to deal with.

The littles were, as always, utterly precious, with all who wanted getting completely spoiled rotten by hugs from the adopted one of the bunch. But once outside, she hangs back a little. It was Jay's day, his and Andrea's, and Megan's. Still, she mused, it had been good to see them, easing a deep-seated ache that most times, she managed to push to the side. For now, she was still in her blue lace peasant-blouse dress, with the strappy little silver sandals to match.

Icarus has posed:
"Ma, I swear, please stop. If you say my baby is growing up one more time," Jay says to his mother as they approach the gathering. "I'm going to start screaming." It's good natured at least, a grin on his face as he gives his mother another hug. She gives a wave to the others before she rushes back inside to finish getting the littles herded together again.

He was dressed down, now that the actual ceremony was over. Not too down or his mother would never forgive him. Jeans, brown boots and a black button down shirt, modified slightly in the back so there were openings for his wings, the red feathered appendages in full view.

As he approached, he swung over toward the munchies and grabbed a soda before pausing to pick out who was where on the lawn.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "And why not hon?" He asks Alexis, and then as Jay and Ma are walking, he moves to give them both a hug, and holds Jay and says "Lok at you growing up.' He chuckles and moves to dodge the punch he is pretty sure his brother is going to send his way "Heard ya had some news little brother?"

Rage has posed:
At the sight of Jay, Andrea heads over to him with a bright grin on her face. She is still in her stunning dress from Oscar's, done up in a hint of makeup and glamour. She throws her arms around Jay, leaning in to give him a kiss on the cheek and to leave a little imprint of pink gloss upon him. "Hey! You finally made it out here. I was thinking it would be next year." She teases him. Her brows lift over at Sam, then glances at Jay with a grin. She gives him a nudge in the side.

Nightingale has posed:
Turning about, Shannon makes as if to head inside and help Sam's ma get the littles herded together again, but pauses when she hears of news to be shared. Chuckling lightly, she calls out to Jay and Andrea. "If it's the fact that you two are a thing, most of us figured it was only a matter of time!" Hopefully, she is out of range of any punches or good-natured retaliation!

Icarus has posed:
The swing comes but Sam was already dodging. He knows Jay too well. "Don't you go startin'!" he orders his brother, laughing a bit. Andrea's approach has him wrapping an arm around her. He doesn't realize there is a tinge of lip gloss left on his cheek.

Hearing Shannong, he grins and shakes his head. "Well, I mean I finally figured it out myself but that isn't it. By the way, you look amazing Shannon." He looks at his lady at his side. "So do you. And everyone for that matter."

He glances to his brother and gives a shrug. "That's why Ma kept me cornered. I was letting her know the big revelation. Seems, I got a scholarship through Starlight and will be able to interview at a wide list of schools. I'm thinking NYU is a good choice for...reasons." He peeks over at Andrea with a grin when he says reasons.

Warpath has posed:
It isn't really depression that touches James' face, but he is quieter than usual. It is nice to see family together, but at the same time... Regardless, he shakes his head at something and takes a drink of the beer.
Wandering around the area aimlessly and yet everything James does has a purpose. Any student that has been around him would know that for sure.

Phoenix has posed:
Jean Grey has been listening quietly, basking in the bittersweet moment of the chicks growing up and preparing to leave the nest. Though, it was notable that her red-eyed, stoic shadow hadn't been spotted since early that morning. Seems mama bird was left to see the babies off herself. However, there's no shortage of delight on her face when she sees the rest of the Guthrie clan filtering in.

"Ah, there you are, Jay. Congratulations, both on graduation and the scholarship. You'll do amazing! Just trust in yourself. And Mrs. Guthrie, it's so nice to see you again!"

Rage has posed:
Tucking herself in against Jay, Andrea is all grins as she bobs her head in affirmation. "I told him Hawaii was on the list but for some reason he wants to stay in the land of snow and cold weather." She smiles at his compliment, giving a bit of a bow. "Thank you! I'm glad you like it. Shannon made her dress, can you believe that? Oh! She also got you something." She reaches out with her hand to snag a wrapped package on the table, handing it over to him. "I haven't peeked yet."

Prismatic has posed:
And Joe the Warrior, the ancient mess of retired alley cat with but a single eye and a sweet disposition, is in one of the younger Guthrie's arms, practicing his best 'I certainly did not get fed eighty treats already' look, even as the little Guthrie holding him is herded about.

Alexis though, stands back, her arms crossed as she looks over the family she's being brought into, and she takes a deep breath, then takes a few steps over to Logan and Jimmy before looking back to the gathering Guthrie clan.

"... they can be a bit much if you're not used to them."

Nightingale has posed:
"Actually... I ummm, sort of made the gift, too." Shannon blushes a little bit and smiles, settling back. "It's nothing much, but maybe you can keep it with you wherever you go. You deserve something nice, Jay."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smirks a bit and says "Well, Hawaii is nice, but when your a mountain boy there just something not quite right about the mountains breaking apart and spitting fire at ya." he grins and looks over to his brother and smiles a bit more "It is good to hear little brother, you know anything Ah can do to help all ya gotta do is let me know."

Nightingale has posed:
A brief glance over at Warpath turns into a nod of understanding from the young healer in training. Though she smiles, for a moment it doesn't quite touch her eyes. She closes those pale azure orbs for a few moments, taking a couple deep breaths. One day, it would be her turn, and then her family would be here. She missed them so. Perhaps a visit was due, when she'd taken her license test. It wasn't such a far drive, really, and then she wouldn't have to ask anybody....

Icarus has posed:
"Thank you, Ms. Grey. This place helped me at a lot. I'm happy Ma made me come here. Got past my personal demons and found a few surprises as well." He glances to Andrea when he says that then focuses back on the small gathering.

At Andrea's words, he looks at Shannon's dress again even as he is accepting his wrapped gift. "You made that? Maybe you should consider designing once you get out of school. You have a skill for it."

He doesn't open the gift right away but looks over to his brother. "You're not wrong. I figured between that and tsunamis, it might not be a good choice. Then there were places like Berkley but I'd be trying to out artist other artists." He shrugs. "So NYU should be good."

Warpath has posed:
Taking a drink from the bottle in his hand, James looks towards Alexis and shrugs just a little,"One's family is irreplaceable." he finally comments in reply after a long consideration to what he might say,"A bit much or not, value such things."
Attention moves to Shannon when she offers the nod and smile to him. Consideration and then he offers a slow nod back to Shannon. It seems she understands where he is coming from without being told and there is value in that sort of insight.

Phoenix has posed:
As the lot sit and talk, the sun sets over the horizon and Dazzler and Jubilee take the stage and various attendees begin scrambling for the best spots in the lawn to watch. Music roars up to life and the fireworks begin, turning the sky into a rainbow of fire and lightning that has the crowd gasping and cheering.

Jean looks to the students and their families with a soft, sweet smile, and without a word to disrupt anyone she quietly sneaks away from the gathering and back towards the mansion. Her face is illuminated by the dim glow of her phone as she can be seen quickly typing out a message on her way.

Another school year ends, and so begins another to prepare for. War - and education - never changes.
