Shredder has posed:
The last month has come to have a common story. Attacks by the strange alien invaders. They hit New York, they've hit Dallas. Johannassburg, Sydney. San Diego. Moscow.

The aliens have not been striking in mass force, rather small surgical teams designed to accomplish particular tasks. Sometimes that task is creating terror. Sometimes it's to disable a military base with particular technology. They have rocky bodies, and those who have been defeated show a high level of tampering genetically. They were engineered, not born. They are without warning. Such it is with this one. But it hasn't come unannounced. Everyone in the school probably heard the impact. The kinetic vehicles come in with little power, meaning they are rarely detected by standard tracking systems. This one is quieter, however. It's flattened several trees on the far side of the lake, sending a shockwave of air over the otherwise tranquil location. The spear like impact made it hardly undetectable, not to mention the plume of dirt and dust that it kicked up. It starts to unfold, the sounds of heavy machinery discernable even from as far as the boathouse.
Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie gets the alarm, and looks over it "What the .." He wonders if these things have cloaking or something, with the whole alien tech they have of their own, but thats a time for another time. He is heading out the front door of the school to head over towards the impact site, seeing who else is about to go with him, and making sure some are getting the younger students to safety
Kit Killovarras has posed:
The campgrounds around Breakstone Lake, as well as the surrounding areas are typically the stomping grounds of a certain Aardwolf. He forages out here regularly and whats more, he tends to sleep out here whenever the weather is pleasant, so when the vehicle slams down, he's quick to alert, springing up and hopping down from a tree near the lake with that telltale violet energy already wreathing his arms and crackling down his spine.

This is far, FAR too close to home for him, so there's no real hesitation when he starts off towards the landing site, all his senses - both natural and magical - kicking into overdrive as he moves in almost perfect silence, the sound of the energy around him quieting to something just barely audible by the normal human range of hearing as he lets himself slip into the mindset of a predator, taking cover where he can to avoid being spotted on his approach.

Observe before an attack, that is what he's learned if nothing else from his time in this country. Recklessness can get people hurt and he knows that all too well, but he's not about to let anything get close to his home or his friends either.
Shredder has posed:
There's no immediate strike that seems to come from the impact site. The sounds of mechanical arms and drills can be heard though. Those who are at the site clearly should have trouble hearing the aardwolf's approach. It's pretty loud. As the dust clears, a collection of rock soldiers, brownish in color, can be seen working on the unfolding ship. They are working quickly with a military efficiency, erecting supports for the ship as it is converted into what looks like a forward operating base. This isn't an attack. They are setting up camp, right next door to Xavier's School.
Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie is not stealthy well, at least not right now. He goes more for forward scout of Hey I am here. So with full blast field roaring, he is heading over the lake to see what is up. Sam maybe look reckless to some, but when your nigh invulnerable reckless is a bit different for you than others, but he does take a moment at the top of his arch getting the lay of the ground, not diving into them yet.
Kit Killovarras has posed:
Stealth is something that Kit can do fairly well in cities, but out in nature? That's where he's practically unmatched. Every step is calculated, every movement judged and precise. When he's close enough to the ship and the occupants erecting a makeshift base? He'll sit for a moment and observe before he makes his move.

The sound of Sam in the distance catches his attention for a moment as his eyes scan the area, seeking out anything he could use as a projectile, whether to distract or destroy something as needed.

When he's got the lay of the area though? That's when the forward strike starts: Dozens of pieces of debris suddenly spring from the ground, propelled by an unseen force as they careen towards the base being built, trying to drive wedges into and through any small, advantageous spot they can.

More and more would spring to life over the next few moments, many of them trailing the violet energy in a display meant to alert any observer to the bizarre display and hopefully, keeping the attention off of where the Aardwolf truly is.
Shredder has posed:
Sam doesn't go noticed for several seconds, the team is too busy trying to rush to finish their building. A total of eight of them in all. Not a large team per se. What does interrupt them is when the debris of the forest comes sailing into their work. One is caught by the side of the head, knocked hard enough to be off his feet, though he's tough enough that he is scrambling up again. Another braces himself with his arm as it smacks into him, knocking him backward a few steps.

The building stops, and they start to rush to a locker of sorts in the center of their work area, looking in Kit's direction as they try to determine who is attacking them.
Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie sees them heading towards a locker, and it looks like a pretty good target to him. These guys are tough from what he has read of the incidents. So true to his name, Sam comes in like a Cannonball... wait thats a different ball in the song. Oh well. Sam is diving through the area they are trying to converge on to take out the locker, and send it's contents scattered and hopefully unusable. He does know that purple glow after all.
Kit Killovarras has posed:
When Sam comes in at the locker is when the Aardwolf springs into the fray, leaping out from his hiding spot as his claws slash through the air, leaving eight long, glowing streaks of pure energy in the air that suddenly dart towards the stony soldiers, each guided towards their target by the will of their creator.

Each of the eight blades will converge on just one of the soldiers this time, the white hot energy and razor sharp edges meant to bite as hard and as deep as possible, but not necessarily meant to kill. If even one of these creatures could be disabled and taken alive it would be a magnificent opportunity to study them in more detail and Kit is ever the mindful one when it comes to such opportunities.
Shredder has posed:
Sam's impact shatters the locker to pieces. It's well reinforced, but not enough to stop someone of Cannonball's power. It's twisted open by the impact, and a small contingent of energy weapons are burst to pieces. The rock soldiers recoil from the impact, having not been looking up at the time. A gravelly voice yells something in an alien tongue, and one of them runs toward another section of the partly constructed building, a small control panel seems to be his destination. A second and third of them waste no time attacking, a football dogpile technique as they look to crush the hero under their weight.

The hot energy of Kit's blades prove to be a match for the soldiers, as the first one roars out in pain as they pierce the thick armor. His pain triggers two more to converge to help their ally who desperately kicks to try to remove his attacker.
Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to the guys clinging to the field around him, and says "You sure you want to do that?" He says and he starts jetting up up and higher into the sky. He does watch the two men/creatures and will grab ahold of them if they start to fall off, once he is up to skyscrapper height he will do a flip and start heading back down to the ground at speed
Kit Killovarras has posed:
This isn't the Aardwolf's first rodeo, far from it in fact and when one of them flees for a control panel? Dozens of pieces of the broken energy weapons suddenly fly up and start pelting at the creature, trying to keep them away from the panel itself. Another four blades are cut into the air and fly for that particular individual.

The ones trying to aid their now wounded friend though? They manage a few strikes on Kit before he's got his attention back on them enough to start blocking their strikes again, his arms and paws wreathing in that telltale energy, crackling with each intercepted blow and minimizing the impacts to near nothing in comparison to what they should be.
Shredder has posed:
It's clear the rock soldiers weren't anticipating the field, and quickly start to slip as they slide off. They are heavy, as heavy as granite of their same size. They scramble, reaching up to try to attack, swinging their fists clumsily from their position.

Kit finds that a fist is flying quickly to his face, to his ribs, they may look like just goofy golems, but they pack a punch that will certainly be able to pack a wallop. The inertia itself is something to be respected, and they know that it's one of their key advantages.

They aren't enough to save their first ally, though, as the first rock soldier Kit had attacked falls, unable to continue his defense. His only hope of survival is the help of his allies.

The one at the control panel cause him to stumble backward, slowing his advance. He looks up, spotting Cannonball's descent, and forces himself back up, struggling to leap forward to the control panel just as Sam reaches the ground, hand slamming onto a button a hair's breath behind him.
Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will let the goons hit the ground but not at speed as it seems he is going to having pulled up at the last second, this also keeps Sam from a fall as his powers wonk out he is about six foot off the ground. He blinks but lands with the three point stand. He looks over to the guy at the panel "Your doing Ah presume." and he will start over there, Luckily though Sam can't be hurt while flying he has spent years training as an X-man and has learned from some of the best hand to hand combatants.
Kit Killovarras has posed:
"That's it!!" comes a sudden snarl from Kit as he feels his powers stripped away for the third time now and this time? This time he's not letting it slide because this time, he's got a target for his rage.

While his strength and speed aren't by any stretch considered 'superhuman', his magical affliction has left him at near peak human performance and with the sudden lack of tension the magical energy forces him to endure constantly? He might as well have just taken a hundred pounds of weight off his frame.

The two attacking him are ignored, one even being lept over as the Aardwolf tears towards the one at thew console, his 'mane' raising, making him look much bigger than normal. When he's in range, the first thing he'd do is try to stun the creature with a blow to the head and whether or not that strike lands? He'd go for the throat!

All he wants in this moment is to get his hands around that soldiers neck or head so he can slam the poor bastards cranium into as many surfaces as he can, as hard as he can and that would include the console used to strip him of something he's known and felt all his life.

Never underestimate seventeen years of pent up rage...
Shredder has posed:
The injured soldier has a smug, but injured look on his face as his two comrades are knocked unconscious by the impact. They are tough, but a blow like that is still significant. He's too busy looking smug to even notice Kit until the aardwolf is right on top of him. His strength would naturally be greater and able to handle him, but he's injured from several blades and finds his rocky head slammed repeatedly into the console, cracks and scuffs on the metal corners and joints coming from the impact as he's beat unconscious.

The two that Kit skipped past are not far behind, splitting to one target a piece. One of them bum rushes Kit to get him off his ally, and the other does the same to the now unpowered Cannonball, several hundred pounds of granite looking to shoulder check him up against the incomplete wall of the partly erected building.
