Synopsis: The House of El starts some much needed reconnecting.
Cast of Characters: Superman, Mon-El, Supergirl

Superman has posed:
Kent Family Farm. It's a place Clark Kent goes for solace. It's a place he goes for family, too. A centralized place on the planet that doesn't require anything super human abilities. Yes, it helps, but it's not required. That's kind of the point. A place Clark can be himself with minimal power use.

"Changes" by Chris Cornell plays on a set of small blue tooth speakers. The Tractor, the previous project, is good aside from a change of tires, a tune up and paint. Simple things really.

Today's current project is an old pick up from the 1940s. A project that's been years in the making. Original parts here, fabricated parts there, broken parts in-between, and even swapping out the last two for the former. A long labor of love started by Jonathan Kent, the first.

Despite winter's chill, the sun is up high today. It's why Clark is wearing a pair of gray cargo pants, a heavy red and black flannel coat, and a simple white shirt that has various gray and black stains. Just a mixture of current work and previous work.

Any music coming from the barn that leaves the 1950s, 1960s, means Clark is in there working. Anyone with Super Hearing, and experience, would know this.
Mon-El has posed:
Lar had made it a point to stop by the Kent farm, of course. The first place he'd seen upon arriving on Earth. It's quiet, except for the oldies music playing from the barn.

He smiles knowingly and pokes his head in the doorway. "Hey," he greets with a warm smile. "That a um...." he starts, his gaze wandering over to the old truck, although he doesn't quite finish the sentence.
Superman has posed:
"A work in progress," Clark says knowing that's a polite way to put it. Tossing a warm smile his way, Clark nods to Lar. "It's good to see you about more. Now, I won't feel so outnumbered when Kara and Karen are here. Or if it's just Lois here," she can be a scary lady sometimes.

"How has Earth been treating you?" he asks acknowledging Lar Gand. "Are you settling in, okay? Do you need anything?" he offers, wanting to know family is taken care of. Family takes care of family, as so many say.
Mon-El has posed:
Lar chuckles and comes in more fully, checking out this 'work in progress'. "I see. But it looks like you're having fun with it, so that's the part that matters, right?"

"Pretty good," he answers in response to the question of how Earth has been treating him. "All in all, it's a fairly nice corner of the galaxy. How've you been?"
Superman has posed:
"It's about not abusing my powers for the parts," Clark knows he could take a few weeks, maybe a month, and scour up part after part. "And there's fun in that. Forces me to take things slow," he admits with a grin. Dull blue eyes, thanks to his glasses, address Lar Gand. "It reminds me why we do what we do with our powers."

"I've been better. Things will improve," he admits and nods. "How will you integrate into the world? What plans do you have? Where do you think you will go? What will you do?" the questions come out. The reporter can be removed from the newsroom, but the newsroom cannot be removed from the reporter.
Mon-El has posed:
"Whoa, whoa, I know you're a reporter too but remember you've been on both sides of that equation." Lar laughs when Clark piles on the questions.

"But yeah, I'll probably just keep doing more of the same. You know, running with the Legion, helping where I can...defending those who can't defend themselves..."

There's a pause. "...You ever wonder, if...you know, what would've happened if Krypton hadn't been destroyed? If there'd been a way..."
Superman has posed:
Clark nods to Lar's comment. "Sorry. T's hard to maintain that sometimes," he admits. A small chuckle slips past his lips.

"It's been a while since I've spoken to Vril," he admits. The ship lingers above Earth's atmosphere last he knew. An impressive marvel of a thing.

That question comes out and it gives Clark pause, "Not really. I can't stop that. I can't bring back my mother. I can't bring back my father. I never thought about what could have been, because all of my power, I -can't- do that. It's a miracle far beyond my scope," he laments and shakes his head. "Why are you thinking like that?" it's a curious question.
Mon-El has posed:
Lar sighs, sitting down on one of the bales of hay in the barn. "I don't know, I just--my parents were always ranting about how Kryptonians destroyed their own homeworld. I'm sorry, you probably didn't want to think about that. And it has nothing to do with you, since you were just a baby." he shakes his head.
Superman has posed:
"Well, I know there's conflicting reports as to the cause. It doesn't change the outcome," Clark admits. Even that part has hm thrown for a loop. "I know Kara would feel differently," she remembers the planet. To her, Earth is like a giant child's toy. Something primative, behind what she remembers from her own childhood.
Mon-El has posed:
"Yeah, it's kind of a sore spot for her, too, understandably." Lar nods. "You ever wonder what they were like? Your uh, biological family, that is."
Superman has posed:
Clark idly wonders if he isn't the only reporter in the room. "I have some of their memories. More than a snapshot. Enough to give a good impression. I don't know if the real thing matches my vision. I mean 'What if it's worse?'" Clark poses for a moment. He sighs, "But what adopted child hasn't wondered about their natural parent at least once," Clark's no different there.
Mon-El has posed:
"Wait, really?" Lar's interest is piqued when the memories are mentioned. "A vision? Like of -their- memories? How?" he asks. "Well, I'm glad it was a good impression anyway." he smiles.
Superman has posed:
"They left behind a few crystals. They're kind of like recordings, stills, and everything similar to that," Clark comments idly. "One of my Father's last actions. He didn't want to send me off to a planet without some idea of my parents," Clark admits. It's the only reason he can think of. Those dull blue eyes watch Lars for a moment. "It's not a -lot-, but it's enough." Does he wish it was more? Yes. Who wouldn't?
Mon-El has posed:
"Heh, that's pretty cool." Lar remarks, nodding. "Yeah if it were my kid I guess I'd want them to remember something, too." Though he sighs, thinking about his own family. "I guess I'm lucky mine are still alive...even if they basically hate anyone not Daxamite. Especially Kryptonians..."
Supergirl has posed:
The sun always makes things better and in some cases, quite literally. Between college, her interim, playing superhero and juggling duties between Justice League and Titans, Kara has definitely had her plate full. Maybe lately she's even been slacking on the hero patrol as classes start up after a nice but all too brief Christmas break.

Driving out to the farm is a pain, so she flies in wearing jeans, a red flannel shirt and short white wool coat. There's not a lot of people out here anyway, especially during the winter months but some peace and quiet is just fine with her.

Landing lightly on the ground below, she hears sounds coming from the barn and heads that way, ears piqued in curiosity.
Superman has posed:
"I think we spoke about her too much, "Clark says as he can hear the familiar sound of her flight pattern. His gaze shoots to Lar. A second later, Kara is walking toward them. "Kara. Lar wants to know how do you think life would be if Krypton survived?" he asks curiously. She -remembers- Krypton. It's why he thinks her perspective would b different and uniquely poised.
Mon-El has posed:
"Speak of the devil, right?" Lar chuckles good-naturedly. Indeed, he picks up on Kara's familiar movements as quickly as her cousin did.

He gets up as soon as she enters. "Kara," he greets, smiling and going to take her hands into his. But then his gaze falls a bit. "I'm sorry I was gone so long. How...how've you been?"
Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers arches a brow, peering at Clark with a bemused smile. "Oh..I guess my nose must be burning..Is that the correct Earth saying?" she bites her lip awkwardly, wondering how badly she butchered that up.

And then she sees who he is talking to, and gasps in surprise. "Lar..Is that you?" a small, cautious smile tugs at her lips, taking a step towards him but hesitates. A lot has happened between them and a lot of time has passed.

When he takes her hands, she tenses just slightly but doesn't pull away. "Yeah, it's been a while, hasnt it?" she laughs lightly, shaking her head. "Oh you know, keeping busy, my intern finally turned into a paying job, moved into a new place, you know..Earth stuff.."

She peers at him thoughtfully, a sad smile on her lips. "I missed you.."
Superman has posed:
Clark chuckles with Lar. He has the right expression. Which can't be said of Kara. "Ears. Ears must be burning," and then he looks at the interaction between the duo.

"Should I give you two a moment and some space?" he asks curiously. Dull blue eyes just watching the pair. He feels like a third wheel for a moment. A soft smile comes to his face, but inwardly it is a little sad. Something he just holds close to the chest.
Mon-El has posed:
Nose? Ears? Lar isn't the right person to ask about that. He just shrugs, laughing. "Oh, right. Ears." he repeats, when Clark corrects it.

"Kara! That's...that's amazing!" he exclaims when she tells him she's now a real paid employee. "Congratulations."

His expression softens though, when she says she missed him. "Wasn't a single day I didn't think about you Kara..." Another sigh, as he lets her hands go. "But, if you've already decided to move on by now, I'll accept it."

He shakes his head at Clark's question. "Oh not at all, I mean--unless you'd prefer to..."
Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers chuckles, "Right, ears! Of course!" she shakes her head, "Oh, no..It's really okay. I wanted to talk to you about something but.." glancing back to Lar, she nods and smiles, "Yeah! Finally! And with things being fairly quiet I can finally focus on life stuff Yknow?"

She blinks as he lets go of her hands. "Umm, well it's been a long while. I mean, a lot of stuff has happened, but mostly just working lots and studying, so.." which is really a somewhat evasive answer.
Superman has posed:
"I can give you two a moment," Clark says softly. He's more than happy to give them time to catch up. It's been longer since Lar and Kara have seen each other," he gives the pair a soft smile. "I can give you all the time necessary," he says knowing there is a lot of ground to cover.

"We can always meet up again," Clark says honestly. Those dull blue eyes look between the pair.

"I think you two need to catch up," he gives them a soft smile. Then he starts to move toward the exit. Everything about the pair remind hm of a few other couples about. They just needed a little time and courage. This is Clark trying to nudge them a little.
Mon-El has posed:
Lar laughs softly. "Really, it's okay Kara. I...want you to be happy, and I know you're wise enough to know what's best for you. Whatever that is, I'm ready to accept it."

He looks over to Clark and notices that subtle bit of sadness. "No, no really. Kara said she wanted to ask you something. Don't let me get in the way of that. Hey, tell you what--why don't I go grab us some hot drinks from the kitchen? The uh, chocolate stuff. With those white sugar puff things."
Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers laughs a bit nervously, glancing between the two of them. "Really...No pressure, I mean..You'll always be my friend, Lar..I can't guarantee anything else beyond that. I mean, I'm not big on forced relationships but..Whatever happens happens, you know? Either way."

She tilts her head at Clark, "So don't go, because you were here first. And I'm just happy to see the both of you! I mean..The holidays have been really exhausting! I'll never get used to earth customs.."
Superman has posed:
Clark just stays quiet for a few moments. Watchng the pair interract for a moment. How thy speak abut the past and present, all at once. Dull blue eyes watching them.

"Earth customs aren't that complicated. They just take time to figure it out," he says softly t the pair. He will lean against a wall for a momnt. Dull blue yes n them.

"Well, people wanted to speak wtih me," Clark says knowing the pair have a few things to work out with time and luck.
Mon-El has posed:
"Of course not, I'd never force you into anything." Lar tells her, smiling. "Then let's leave it at that for now. We'll see what happens...and we'll talk about it when the time comes. Let's just enjoy each other's company for the moment. We've got a lot of catching up to do, anyway--right?"

On the subject of Earth customs, Lar chuckles. "True, and there's just so many of them, it'd take a whole lifetime. Speaking of customs though, they do have some pretty good food-related ones. Like that chocolate drink thing I was about go fetch." With that, he zooms off to the kitchen to whip up three mugs of the sweet, hot drink.
Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers smiles and nods, "Yeah, I guess they're just strange to me, even if they kinda make sense..And sometimes they make me miss Kryptonian holidays, you know?" but of course it's different for Clark being born and raised on earth.

She chuckles at Lar's comments about food. "Oh Lar, you're so funny sometimes, and I sometimes forget that you come from an even different time and place from us both.." she sighs, "But I'm glad you're back, really.."
Superman has posed:
"Hot chocolate," Clark says about the drink. He waits for a moment just seing Lars vanish. The man will b back shortly. A soft chuckle rumbles from Clark as Kara goes on before the man vanishes.

"I don't know about many of the Holidays except a few that revolve around Rao. I just don't know -why-," he says softly. The dull blue eyes focus on Kara for a moment.

He wiill be happy to just listen t the duo banter. inwardly he does smile a little. It's good to see his cousin find something.
Mon-El has posed:
After a few moments, Lar returns with three steaming mugs of hot chocolate and...generous amounts of marshmallows in them. He sets one down in front of each of them and takes one for himself.

"Right, 'hot chocolate' that's what it was called, I think it's the thing Terrans are always drinking in a lot of those holiday cards and stuff."

"Uh, thank you? I think." He chuckles at Kara's comment. "I really did miss you too, Kara." he says, sitting down next to her.
Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers oohs, "Hot chocolate! I love this stuff, it's so cozy around a nice bonfire when it's super cold." she beams, taking the cup, "Thabks Lar! Guess you're a big fan too, huh?" Ooh and marshmallows too! She wastes no time in digging in, always having the bad habit of trying to pull the marshmallows out before they fully melt.
She nods and smiles, "Well, you sure are getting familiar with earth customs..So how's family back home? Are you..Gonna be headed back there again soon..?"

She yawns and stretches, peering at the rapidly darkening sky, "You know, that's probably a story for another day, heck, there's probably a lot we need to catch up on but since you're here, why don't you stay the night...If it's ok with you, Kal?"
