Date of Scene: 15 October 2024
Location: Club Lux, Melville
Synopsis: Logan makes a proposal to some unexpected sources!
Cast of Characters: Wolverine, Sinister, Lucifer, Phantasm (Drago), Constantine

Wolverine has posed:
The Lux, home sweet Hell for some. Hell sweet Hell for Logan, but that's more due to the company than the decor. Still, this evening is going to be one of firsts. Logan will, for once, wait in line.

Any cameras outside will surely spot him. There's no ruckus that follows him, nor is he just pushing ahead of anyone else that might be around. He's playing everything, by the books. That's a curious prospect. Someone used to being chaotic suddenly playing by the rules. Still, he will wait knowing someone inside will put it together. Logan is going to ask for something. It's either a favor, a business proposal or something more. Either way, there should be an interest by those inside. Well, two inside at least.

And he'll even wait if they decide to make a game out of it. Although, Logan might flick off a camera in this situation.
Sinister has posed:
For Sinister, it's a night like any other, in this case one involved in a good deal of tooling -- he's sat at his usual table, tidy and neat in his nook, dressed in black and white and red-- black suit, white vest, red shirt, rose shades.

Hair is slicked, appearances are precise and he looks up from what he's doing with what appears to be a cyber punk monacle, to stare at the nearest camera, then at the door, as if he could see straight through it.

"Hmm."

And in a more useful manner, a thought permeates to Host and family-by-proxy. <<We've got a visitor out here. The Wolverine is waiting in line. Hell hath frozen over.>>
Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer suddenly appears beside the table that Nathaniel occupies, and a second later, he's sitting across from the man. Lucifer has seen better days, but he'll blame it on wanting to be casual for once. Play it off like it's nothing. Even if the blue jeans are a little worn, the shirt's a little dusty and his hair is perhaps a tiny bit unkempt. There's worry behind those blue eyes, masked by the Devil May Charm smile he plasters on his face that could fool Almost Anyone.

Anyone except Nathaniel.

"He sure as shit better not be coming here for another round of Save the Jean. I'm not playing games with anyone right now. If he wants to argue, he'll have to come back another time." Lucifer's eyes shift towards the front door. "Suppose we could give him the curtesy of skipping the line..." To which he snaps his fingers and two men shift to exit the club and approach Logan.

"Mr. Howlett. If you'll come with us please. Mister Morningstar would like to see to it you reach the VIP lounge with ease."
Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Be it requirements of his most recent movie project or a general need to take care of a magic mirror currently binging on the soap opera network, Nick is present at the club. Although, he didn't have to wait in line to get in. That is just a perk of having a place to stay at inside the building already. Just an elevator ride down and bing! Into the club he goes.

And in he does, although he has forgone the consumption of alcohol and is instead making do with one of the healthier fare available from the kitchen.

That's right. 'Gourmet' grilled cheese with a cup of seasoned tomato soup to dip in. While dressed in nicer attire, the musician's not quite clubbing but instead seems to be situated at one of the tables, contemplating an open page in the notebook. To the mental ping from Sinister, Nick's head lifts up, glancing to the entryway in time to see additional hands making their way outside. The notebook is closed before Nick gets up, making his way up to the VIP section. Soup, sandwich, and all.

He did get paged after all.
Wolverine has posed:
Logan's waiting in line and he'll see the men approach him. Honestly, he expects to get kicked out. Well, attempted to be kicked out. So, the escort is shocking. <"Score one fer manners,"> is the only thought that goes through his head.

That's when he just waits to be escorted to where Lucifer wants him to be. Logan pictures Lush, extravagent, mostly private. He's just not sure what kind of VIP place it would be. The mutant suspects Lucifer has a few scattered about the place to go with Moods. Still, he'll be courteous.

A nod goes to a spot, "Mind?" he'll ask before sitting. Again, civility. Strange.
Sinister has posed:
Sinister's gaze peers over the top of the rose spectacles. He sees, for absolute certain, but he has the courtesy of his cultural upbringing to thank for not making a comment on it, other than to purse his lips slightly -- it's measured out with a decanter of whiskey materializing through a small ring of lightning at a gesture along with a clonk of a quartet of tumblers following.

"I don't sense hostility, other than the usual backburner slow hatred," he murmurs, but does chuckle drily at the quippage, looking to the elevator's arrival. A coke floats over to join the whiskey, along with a small train of ice cubes. Plink plink plink.

And then to the encroaching mutant short-arse. He inclines his head very slightly to Logan and pours the water of life out, manually. The monacle is left where he set it. "It is always a pleasure, Logan."
Lucifer has posed:
Lush is one way to describe it. The VIP lounge is all booths - velvet lined - and sturdy wood basing painted black. The velvet is red. Minimal light is used to give it an atmospheric feel of out of the way and yet one could see the entirety of the club if they turned to look it over. Still, out of the way enough that the bustle of the club itself does not reach this area in the slightest really.

The epitome of comfort and style.

"You're fine to join us, of course." The Devil clips in short but cordial words. If stress is palpable - however - Lucifer is rife with it at the moment. To the point that when the whiskey is made to appear, he's quick to take it once Nathaniel is done with it. Pour his own glass, down that, and then pour another. It's amazing what one can do with alcohol when they never suffer the affects of it.

At least not in this form.
Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick's ascent to the VIP area is a little slowed as he effectively glides up the steps in a manner to avoid shaking the soup out of its container. But upon reaching the other two, he sets his plate and notebook down at the table, turning in time to watch the incoming Wolverine.

"Hi Logan." Nick greets, giving a slight smile before he slides into his own seat. He scoots down, allowing Logan the outside of the booth seating.
Wolverine has posed:
"Thank you for the hospitality," Logan will say to Sinister and Lucifer before sitting down. A nod goes to Nick, "Hey."

Once sitting down, Logan's hands will come together. "Before I begin, I need two questions answered. Truthfully. What's yer slowest business day? On average. How much does it make?" Logan's actually coming with business questions. No matter of conflict, redheads, or anything else. Cold hard facts and cold hard cash.
Sinister has posed:
Settling back in the seat, the focus here is on the Devil and so he does a whiskey and coke for Nick, with more coke than whiskey, pouring neat for Logan and on the rocks for himself and the Host.

He's quiet though, listening. Those questions were not directed at him, after all. Keeping the mental ear wide open, is what he's exceptionally good at.
Lucifer has posed:
And down the hatch goes yet another round of the whiskey. After that, Lucifer's eyes shift to look in Logan's general direction. "Tuesdays and Wednesdays are our slowest. Doing about...roughly...five grand each night?" Cause on the whole, every other night the club can rake in a good ten grand easily. There's a shift of his gaze towards Nathaniel for a moment and then he looks to Nick.

"How can you actually stand to eat that? I mean, I know my chef. He makes it from scratch. But it's literally pureed tomatoes with some herbs mixed with water... I could buy tomato juice for cheaper and you'd probably still enjoy it..." He tries to joke. He even attempts a smirk. It's half-assed at best tho.
Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer also, and quite suddenly, nearly does a spit-take with the next glass of whiskey he's trying to drink. Then clears his throat to keep up appearances.
Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
With the mixed drink set down in front of him, Nick glances over to Sinister, giving a nod of thanks. As the conversation so far doesn't seem to involve him, he does what he can to ensure he doesn't interrupt what is being said.

Eating.

The man is eating.

The plan is shortlived as a question ends up being directed at him. Bitten sandwich lowered, he looks to it. "The same reason why I like homemade mac and cheese." He answers, before holding up the slice of grilled cheese to dip into the soup. "It's also one of the healthiest things the kitchen offers...Also Grilled Cheese dipped into well made tomato soup more or less gets you a flavor profile similar to a cheese pizza."

The red tinged dab of sandwich is pulled out of the cup and bitten into, leaving Nick to smile contentedly while he chews.
Constantine has posed:
The crowd would part for this newcommer if there was a crowd. Not out of respect, awe or even courtesy but out of caution or disgust. If one had missed the sight of his never-washed trench coat, the musky cloud hugging him for three feet radius would do it: the fake pine scent of more than one car air freshner half fails to disguise the stench of chain-smoked cold tobacco and a derelict distillery. For those who have met him before, the tussled redhair and the way he miraculously walks in an almost straight line toward the bar is enough to identify him as John Constantine.
Wolverine has posed:
Logan knows Sinister is just listening to this all. He will chime in when necessary. "Alright. What would it take to rent out the place? I'd prefer a Friday, but if yer not willin' to budge, one of the slower days would do." He waits to see how this offer goes. Although the spittake, causes a brow to raise.

"Sometimes it's the little things, Lu (said like Lou)."

Those ocean blues will look toward the newcomer. The man smells like pine sol and old cigarettes. "Who the Hell is taht guy?" he will ask the group wondering what has caused this group to go so slack jawed.
Sinister has posed:
Sinister looks over his spectacles toward the devil with a deadpan expression, then brightly smiles, with TEEF. The reply regarding the tomato soup has him arching a brow and again side-eyeing the devil, only to get distracted a moment...

"Well, blow me down with a feather, look what the cat dragged in and spat out..." he muses, glancing down through the non-crowded club toward the entrace of dirty and tobacco filled -- strawberry blond, more dirt than anything, if we're accurate -- and he snorts. There's not just the one sensitive nose in this place.

"John Constantine. I take it you fell down a hole, dragged yourself out with a screaming beetle in a box and fell out of a mirror into ... a car dealership? Good grief man."
Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer settles back in his seat and then turns his head to look pointedly at Logan. He's contemplating. Wondering. A hundred questions rolling around his head in that particular moment that anything else has gone in one ear and out the other.

He settles on one question.

"Why?"
Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
To Logan's inquiry, Nick curiously turns his head to look in the direction the scruffy one indicates. Fortunately Sinister provides a name to go with the appearance. A name that he has heard uttered before.

And once Constantine's attention is brought up to the VIP section where everyone else is situated, Nick finds himself lifting up his hand and giving a wave.

Hmm...He's awful friendly tonight.
Constantine has posed:
The calling of his name does it, John slows down to a stop. "Nate. Luci." He takes a step to offer his hand to shake then he sees his hand is without a cigarette. He finds one inside his coat and it is apprear, an actual car air freshener perform a dive for the floor, most likely looking for air. The light he uses to light his cigarette is... at least prestidigiatious, if that's a word. Out of nowhere, if not.

To the others, he offers a nod. "Evening. Didn't mean to interupt. And no, I did make an effort, Nate... after falling in a bottle to avoid a crying demon on the other side of a..." A what? His speech is irremediably lost in a short belch.
Wolverine has posed:
Logan watches Sinister talk about the man called John. Almost gushing. So, he just keeps his gaze on the guy from time to time.

Lucifer settles on one very important question: "Why?"

"Because I'm lookin' to throw a party fer mutants. Somethin' fancy. I want neutrl, safe, but enough they might let themselves go a little bit," he looks at Lucifer for a moment. "N' the more I kept thinking 'bout it. The more this place came into view. Plus, I figured you three would be instantly invited," and then he looks to Nick being inquisitive and friendly. A cotrast to Sinister.
Sinister has posed:
"Oh, you're pickled. That would explain that, except that it -really- doesn't..." he's aware of his periphery vision at leaSt, the wave from Nick, the lack of understanding of English banter. You take the piss out of the ones you happen to like the most, it's a thing.

Logan is stared at then, for a gooooooooood long moment. "Alright, who are you and what have you done with the short-tempered one?" He demands with a dry tone that is again... exceedingly english. And mildly amused.

"John, pull up a seat if you feel inclined. Or hover, if you don't." An ashtray is floated over and gosh, nobody IS looking at this table. Not even the staff.
Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer raises a brow and then shifts to fold his arms across his chest while turning to face Logan more properly. "Two Hundred Grand. If you can give me two hundred grand, I'll give you the club plus the hotel for an entire weekend. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. But...I have conditions. Not harsh ones, I think the conditions I can list will be fair..." In some weird and round about way, this works out perfectly. It means the three of them - himself, Sin, and Nick - can come and go as they please. It means they can be gone from the club and Lucifer's not going to lose ... much ... money.

With that little bit of breathing room, he can use the time to focus on the other issue at hand. And what an auspicious occassion as he finally turns his attention - however briefly - towards John. "You need a shower. And a shave. And for fucks sake, can you not put your clothes through the wash at least once? You'll come upstairs and take care of all of that. If you deny me, I will turn you out on your ass. Which will suck more for me, than for you, because if you play nice.... I might have a job for you. A job I know you'll absolutely -love-."
Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick perks up to the mention of a party for mutants. "While Lux is pretty openminded. I'm a bit surprised you're not considering Club Evolution as a potential venue considering the location and ownership."

More sandwich is dunked into the soup, "Although I guess location and ownership is the strike against the neutral requirement."

As Lucifer addresses Constantine, pale eyes look over to the English stinkbug. The mention of having a job for John gets a bit of a blink as he looks to Sinister. The tracking issue maybe?
Constantine has posed:
At the mention of mutants, John makes a special effort to set his full attention on Sinister so no one will know he's overheard one of the Devil's deals, ongoing. He nods and nonchalantly scoots for a chair when Lucifer heckles him and with a landry topic that's been waved ages ago. John freezes or more aptly congeals, given his sloshy state of being. He glares at the floor halfway between himself and Lucifer.

"Same old, aren't you. A job... nah mate. I don't do home makeover or reverse time, guv." Adressing Logan, he adds with pointing at Lucifer: "Quickly shake his hand 'cause he forgot to ask for collateral. Bloody mutie party, Hell on wheels and skating Jesus, what next..."
Wolverine has posed:
"Call it seein' a greater good," Logan says honestly and looks toward Sinister. And yes, there are few things he would tolerate the people, setting, etc. for. The school is one of the few.

"One-thirty fer Friday n' Saturday. Hotel. Everythin'. Call the extra a sign of good faith," and he lets that linger. Logan knows 130k is above an even daily split by a little bit. "Three days might be too much partyin' fer a school," then he looks at them. His gaze shifting between the trio. "I expected you three were invited by default." So, that condition is nothing to be expected. "No corruption of the kids, staff. Bad 'nough I might need to keep Emma in check." Logan just gives Lucifer a look. He's not accusing them of anything nefarious. However, Lucifer -is- the Devil. "The teacher in me's gotta say it," he says honestly.

And now he waits.
Sinister has posed:
Sinister looks from Constantine after a lingering moment at his vehement denial of all things cooperation and waves over another bottle of rotgut. The man can listen all he likes, as the doctor looks to Logan again with a raise of eyebrow and over at Lucifer. He clears his throat and procures his own tobacco tin, extracting a fragrant couple of coffin nails, lit with the nicknamed lucifers that are matches. That little spike of brimstone hits the nose just right, chordite in the evening and one lit smoke is handed to the devil as he settles back with his own and a flick of ash.

THe positioning of his body is all kinds of relaxed lounging.

"Children given the option to have a normal night to let loose, a safe prom? I am assuming that you will also want to ahhh... theme it up and guarantee protection? I assure you from my perspective, any individual attempting to be stupid in Lux on that night, is going to wonder why they're craving bagels and sardines, whilst naked."

He does nod to Nick though. Likely that summise was right. Hire the Hex-monger for certain things.
Lucifer has posed:
"Extra? I can pull a hundred grand easy on Friday and Saturday separately. 200 was giving you a day for free. Mostly so you and yours could spend the day cleaning up after yourselves. Cause while I do have a staff that does clean, I can only imagine what sort of a mess could be left behind..." Lucifer says this, and then leans back in his seat some whilst taking the lit smoke from Nathaniel.

"Are we expecting anyone to be under the age of 18? If that's the case, I'll have to pull all the alcohol. I cannot risk it being served to minors - let alone someone under 21." At least when it comes to the setting that Logan is wishing for. "I tell you what. 150 for Friday and Saturday. But I expect the club to be able to function normally Sunday night. Meaning it's as clean as you arrive to it. My staff will help, but those of yours that make messes will be expected to clean them up." As for hotel rules. He'll leave those to Logan. Never let it be said that the Devil denied debauchery.
Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick does well to not interrupt the business dealings but that unfortunately leads to him having a bite of sandwich when Sinister mentions the cravings.

Eyes widen before Nick turns away from the others to start coughing. Shoulders shake and then-

Stillness.

There's a slight hesitation before Nick ventures to speak. "...wrong pipe. Nathaniel, there will be kids present. Maybe a 'no' on the naked part."
Wolverine has posed:
"That's the protection I want," Logan will give Sinister a nod of respect. Not the first one they've hsared, but the first one in a while. "That's a guarantee I wanted," Logan admits. Sinister extended him a courtesy, so Logan will be honest. Sinister did see through it.

"Fine. Two-fifty. Same offer. Call it respectin' yer business n' you as a business owner," Logan explains firmly to Lucifer.

"Have the urge kick in long after any stragglers would be about," he pings off of Nick's comments.

"Everyone should be over 18, but we'll figure out a way to card," Logan does care about the Mansion's look. Sinister did peg it right. A party where they could feel normal.
Sinister has posed:
"If young people cannot fathom nakedness, they're going to be in for a world of confusion at some stage of thier lives, Nick. But yes, inhaling tomato soup is generally considered to be inadvisable. Aspirate pneumonia is quite a horrible side-effect of it, you know."

Again, Logan is looked at over his spectacles, then Lucifer as the nitty and the gritty are hammered out and flattened with an iron.
Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer tilts his head. "So...now you're offering me fifty grand over my original asking price, and only for Friday and Saturday nights?" He chuckles. "Protections are promised, nigh, garaunteed. If you need security footage, you'll have to go through Nathaniel here. Otherwise... so long as you agree to the previously mentioned terms about cleanliness...and if everyone is over 18....I'll allow the alcohol... but under 21s must wear a wristband which I will provide. I have them for when I throw events that allow under 21s to enter." He says this and then smiles at Logan.

Then he extends his hand.

"A gentleman's deal. As this isn't any sort of official Devil's Favor agreement. We will take each other at our words."
Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"Kids... AND school endorsed event." Nick replies back to Sinister, "That's just asking for some angry parents should they find out. And general Murphy's Law indicates there would be parents that find out."
Wolverine has posed:
"Like I said, call it respectin' the business n' the owner," Logan extends his hand and actually shakes on it. Logan knows that he hasn't been...the best guest. So, he's willing to take a hit if it shows a sign of good Faith for the school. "I'll be by in a week wit' the whole thing," he says promptly and then there's a series of nods. "Alright. Sounds good," he can't argue Luci's plan. That's a good way to break it all down.

"Can ya provide the footage if we need it?" Logan asks Sin honestly. He presumes it could be brought in 32k quality picture, but it's good to get antoher assurance.

"N' trust the kid wit' food sometimes," he gives a nod to Nick. Just a sign of respect.

Logan will rise up, "Gentleman. Been a good night," he'll give a nod and try to leave. Nothing abrupt, while not sudden, in Logan's mind the business is concluded for now. "I'll bring someone wit' me to look over a contract."
Sinister has posed:
There's a moment where it looks as if Essex might be facetious, or at the very least droll. But after a lingering look, he nods his head. "Common garden variety video footage would be easy. Rare orchid kind of footage is also ... available." -- glancing to Nick, he raises his whiskey, sips whilst the smoke trails around his ears in corkscrews, held just so -- Kind of muffled from the tumbler: "...most of the young people at that school do not have the kind of parents that give much concern to anything other than hiding shame."
Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer concludes the firm handshake and then nods his head. "I'll have the contract drawn up, I can even send you a copy to look over before you come to sign in case you have any questions or concerns." He offers this much more and then tilts his head as Logan makes to leave. "Stop by the bar, Logan. I just got a shipment in of - what I am told to be - the finest Canadian beer. I'd appreciate the approval of a true Canadian."

Otherwise, if Logan chooses to get a beer, he won't be charged. If he chooses to fully leave, he won't be stopped. Lucifer will turn to the remaining companions. "Well then. I call that a solid win."
Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Despite the muffled commentary. The close proximity does lead to it being heard by the musician. He frowns as a pang of familiarity with such a situation strikes.

"Fine. Most." Nick allows, "...But not ALL."
Wolverine has posed:
Logan's about to leave, but Beer enters the picture. Logan knows Lucifer isn't one to lie about his club's offerings. Boast? Yes. Lie? No.

"I'll take one fer the road," a sign of reluctant trust, but trust none the less.

He'll ask for a bottle. A second later, "SHNKT!" and he'll pop the cap. Instead of letting hitting the ground, he'll snag the cap. "Thanks," he'll speak honestly.
Sinister has posed:
"There's always an exception that proves the rule," Sinister replies. "Sad fact of sociological sciences, they tend toward ordered chaos..." He sighs slightly, grins rapaciously and finishes off the smoke as the wolverine is watched.

Definitely a good day, he's not snarled at the doctor yet.

"I'd say more that the ice isn't cracking underneath our feet. I shall inevitably be watching the back of my own head for a while anyway."
Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer shrugs, finishing off his own smoke, taking care of both his and Nathaniel's in the way he always does. "I think it's good that he's showing trust in us. It means that perhaps not all is lost with them." The mutants, he means, or perhaps the school as a whole. "I am curious as to why he chose this place above all. Neutral zone? Wouldn't Club Evo be that for them anyway?"

He shrugs though and waves a hand. "Mmn...I think we should depart upstairs. Even if that means dragging mister stinky here up with us, yes?"
Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"I was wondering that but- it might be to really get the 'like normal' vibe, they want to have a location out of an area that's been dubbed mutant town."

Nick looks to the drink that had been prepped for him but not touched. a hand moves over to it. "I can get it. It's not fun feeling like you're being confined to one place. It's good to have options."
