Crimson Fenders Rock

Synopsis:	Random meeting in NYC prompted by a band called the Crimson Fenders

Psylocke has posed:
    It's just after noon in Chinatown. The area is bustling with activity, between the many tourists and residents of the area. The market place is swarming with those who are taking a leisurely look at the millions of goods seeminglye available. Others are partaking of the many restaurants. Some grab a quick lunch on the go. Others take their time, enjoying the ambiance of the location.
    Despite it being March, the weather has yet again turned ugly, proving that Phil was right when he saw his shadow back on Groundhog Day. Despite the chill and the snow falling, the people are everywhere though they bundled up against the chill.
    On a corner is a small band, with a nice brass section, a guitar case open on the ground where people can drop a dollar or a few coins if they appreciate the show.
    Then there are those in the area for very different reasons. Betsy Braddock is one of them. While she is sitting in one of the many restaurants with a cup of tea in her hand, her attention is on the goings on outdoors. The Hand have been quiet of late. Entirely too quiet. She has chosen to come here to see what she might learn of their activities. She's dressed casually, her heavy jacket slung over the back of her chair.

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
    The Cuckoos are out in their first ever day out alone, and of course the five young women are bunched up in a very tight bundle. The five blondes wear their school girl outfit with the half leg length skirt appearing out of the bottom of the large bright red and fur lined parka style jackets they've picked up.

    The hive mind is reaching out beyond the blue eyed women as they walk down the street and ten eyes slowly turn towards the band as they pass by.

    "We do not have any money, but we do appreciate your music." They all say in unison as they pass by. Their minds pulling in the thoughts that some sort of payment should be given, so they give a compliment as they pass.

Daken has posed:
Daken was out and about as well. Coincidentally, eating in the same restaurant as Betsy! What are the odds of that? That said, he wears casual clothing. Black trench coat, dark red t-shirt, coal black jeans, combat boots, and a nice little fisherman's hat on his head. He looks like he could play Fiddler on the Roof, but eh. It's strangely stylish on him.

He eats a simple steak politely with a glass of Sprite right next to him. Not in the mood for alcohol today. SOMEHOW. but he also notices the Cuckoos as they walk by and strangely speak in unison. Is this a prank? or is it just really creepy telepathy? Eh, who knows. Regardless, he finishes paying for his food then he sits back and watches events unfold, curiosity is peaked.

Human Torch has posed:
Jah Storm is out and about and is dressed in a t-shirt, jacket and jeans. He's not cold.

He stands in front of the band knee slapping and having a great time. Talking to the people next to him, whether they want to or not and dropping a five or ten in the guitar case after every song.

"Hey, do you Misty?!?! Yeah play Misty?!?!? You take requests right?"

The last three songs have been requests.

Psylocke has posed:
    Taking another sip of her tea, Betsy's brows lift when the five girls pass by. Certainly not the hand but that isn't something one sees everyday. Then they all speak in unison and her brows are furrowed instead as she stands. A few dollars are dropped on the able beside her check then she pulls on her jacket. It is fastened completely before she walks toward the door of the restaurant. Not to follow the group of identical girls. Just because it is an oddity doesn't immediately her her on high alert.
    It's simply time to resume her search. She lets her mind wander from time to time, touching on the various sellers at the market to see if she can find information about her prey.

Magneto has posed:
A singular metal hubcap slowly descends from on high, it makes its way first to a small ATM which spits out a bit of cash onto the tray. Cash piled up it floats over to the band, and hovers low for a moment. A few seconds later it simply tips over to one side sending the cascade of currency tumbling into the bands collection hat tipping full over to knock out the last few coins.

     A moment later it floats right on past the cuckoos and reinstalls itself right onto the wheel of an old rust-bucket. Every peice of the wheel simply floats back together reassembling as if nothing had ever happened in the first place with no real sign of who may have been responsible.

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
    <<Who or what are you looking for?>> The potent hive mind asks, probing against Betsy's mind like a large water balloon pressing against a persons face before it pops. The Stepford women stop mid stride as Johnny was so hard to miss the first time they looked at the famous super hero with ten eyes that have not only never seen him before, but a blank slate of a mind about the fellow blonde.

    Then a hubcap floats past the girls and they balk all of them turning to scan the area in hopes of finding the source of the hubcap's movement, as well as their collective mind looking and probing for the cause at the same time.

Daken has posed:
     See, Daken just thought today would be a pleasant day. Either way, he eventualy tilts his head when he sees Johnny Storm. Isn't that guy a Fantastic Four dude or whatever? Eh, celebrities is one of those things he just never paid attention to. But like Psylocke, Daken pays for his meal and stands up to leave..only pausing when he sees a hubcap being magnetically moved to give the musician some cash.

     "What...the..f-" then he sees the Cuckoos on the move, and his interest in them is a little piqued as well. But who moved the hubcap?? Daken starts using his incredibly enhanced senses to try and smell the pulpatrator out!

Human Torch has posed:
Well, no one is gonna up stage the Storm. As the hub cap floats in and floats out Johnny watches it with mild irritation. He searches around for a bit but only so long as to find the ATM. Insert his card and take out even more money out and goes back to stand in front of the band with the intention of making it rain.

Looking around one last time he makes another requests

"Sweet Caroline DUn DUN DUUUUUNNN."

Psylocke has posed:
    Needless to say, with a celebrity like Johnny Storm, they are more than willing to grant every request. It wasn't even the money at first. It was just because he was The Johnny Storm.
    Then the hubcap showed up and upstaged the man. The band played even louder, suddenly a lot more into the music when they see their rent paid from the hubcap. The fact it was from a hubcap and not a person? They don't really care.
    Which lead to Johnny to stand there with even more money. They immediately begin to ply and sing along with him.
    Betsy doesn't react physically to the mental touch but her psionic barrier snaps into place around her mind immediately, an attempt to keep out an intruder. Not that they were intruding. It was just an iquiry. <I seek those who crawl in the shadows and cause harm to others with no care.> she answers mentally, even as she watches the hubcap return to its place on the car. That--may not be cause for alarm. After all, there are lots of people with various powers. It is a curiosity though. But she doesn't dare mentally scan the area for the cause as she isn't sure what to think of the Cuckoos.

Magneto has posed:
High above them little more then a dot is a figure dressed in crimson and royal purple. His mind can not be read, nor detected his smell is one of power radiating off of him as he looks down from high above his face hidden very well behind his centurions mask. He watches them like ants moving around his expression flat and emotionless as he takes in the city far bellow. This was just another visit to the states for him.

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
    The girl's mental powers are unpracticed and very undisciplined, she'd feel their probing presence all around her mental barrier, poking and proding at not only the butterfly telepath, but at everyone in the area, reading little more than surface thoughts however.

    "That is a good song. Play it well." The girls add over their shoulder towards Johnny and the band, their heads twisting over their shoulder in perfect sync. Once the request is given, the five women turn their heads to aim in front and they start to walk slowly through the salted snow. Their shoes crunching against the dirty pavement.

Human Torch has posed:
Girls?

Johnny turns around to see the girls and of course, "Ladies!?1 Where are you going? Come hang out and meet my new friends," he whispers to the band, "What were your names again?"

"Come make a request ladies. They love requests."

He waves his hands in the air.

Psylocke has posed:
    "Crimson Fenders," is the response from one of the band members to Johnny's question. The band leader, who happens to play a mean sax, looks to the Cuckoos to see what song they might want to hear. He's still making sure to keep J-Storm in his sights thought, not willing to give up on the hope of getting even more money. Despite them having more than they have earned in a month already in the guitar case.
    Betsy frowns a bit at she feels that mental probing. She pushes back ever so gently, to try and keep the mental fingers from continuing their quest. <It is considered rude to try and penetrate another mind, particularly when they have shields in place to prevent just such a thing. Have you not been taught about your telepathy>

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
    The Cuckoos stop when they hear the voice of Johnny Storm and the mental presence he pushes out to their hive mind and they stop and again look over their shoulders and with a disinterested shrug they admit, "We don't know any music." Not rude, but not polite, and no thank you or anything else offered to the legendary super hero before they turn away from the fire-man and again continue to walk down the sidewalk.

    <<We didn't know that was taboo...>> The Stepfords respond to Betsy mentally as they look back over their shoulder and smirk after probing some minds a bit and pulling out a song from one of the band member's mind. "Give us that old time rock and roll." The women request before they try to walk off again.

Human Torch has posed:
Johnny Storm makes the name in flames above the heads of the band,

"CRIMSON FENDERS!!"

Also provinding a little warmth.

"Yes ladies, Yes!! Give -me- and them that old time rock and roll!"

Psylocke has posed:
    That is all the encouragement the crowd needed. They were growing in number as the band continued to play and Johnny Storm drew in more and more of them. They just wanted to see him, be close to him, even if they didn't get to spend time. As the blazing words appear, they begin to scream and applaud. Which feeds that positive energy to the band.
    The guitar case is getting filled even more by people in the crowd now.
    Psylocke frowns a bit at the retreating five girls and shakes her head a bit, before turning and moving in the opposite direction. All of this is distracting her from the original reason for visiting. She is soon lost in the crowd.

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
    The five girls reach over their shoulders and start to lift their parka's furry hood up and over their blonde heads, to keep warm in the biting wind. The women look down at their path ahead and their mind continues to probe the area, looking for Psylocke's prey as well as looking for a way to get to their own target.

Daken has posed:
Daken just watches as people thorw money and money and money at this street band. they will eat heartily tonight! Alas, as Daken smiles to Psylocke as he sees her. The cuckoos get a smile for each one of them since he passes by them on his way out, but alas, he has things to do and people to likely kill. that said, he drops a twenty spot in the bands guitar case and heads out.
