In the beginning...
Date of Scene: 14 June 2017
Location: Sunnydale, Bludhaven
Synopsis: The Scoobies meet a stranger who is also a Slayer!
Cast of Characters: Rupert Giles, Amethyst, Faith Lehane, Spike, Buffy Summers

Rupert Giles has posed:
Going with the libary still since, well..strangers, Buffy's house...that doesn't exactly scream Watcher being a very good Watcher.

It's evening time, obviously, since one way or another Spike has made his way here. And so Giles is sitting at a table, in his nice typical attire of a suit, though with the Bludhaven weather being a bit humid, so his tie is a little loose and he has the cuffs of his dress shirt rolled up slightly. "So Buffy..." he says, "what I want to get acro....no let's see here. So there are things that I haven't gotten around to mention....no," he says, as he puts his hand to his hip, his glasses in one hand as he puts them back on. "So I've invited a person over that Mr. Constantine knew and was I believe goint o introduce you all to before I got here," he explains. But then he's walking back and forth a bit, which Giles doesn't usually do when he's relaxed so, one might pick up that there's more to it than that. "So one is the loneliest num...oh shut up Giles...." he says at himself with frustration, realizing that as he's trying to get out what he wants to sy he's rambling.

Amethyst has posed:
Maybe not the person anyone was expecting to walk in, but all the same, Amaya pushes the library doors and storms right on in. The jeans and leather clad blonde can't be far into adulthood but she carries herself with authority. "John! John Constantine I want that crystal back!" She yells, no reverence for the library environment at all.

Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith was asked to come to this school via a letter that was delivered to her by a guy on a bicycle who was wearing a suite like an old milkman... he talked in old timey speak... and it overall creeped the ever-living-shit out of her... But apparently it was a legit service offered by some guy in Sunnydale who had a website 'Old Fashioned Postman Dot Com'.

So here she was, at night, stepping into the Gym exit of the Sunnydale highschool (after ripping the lock off). Faith made her way through the dark gym, whistling a song with her hands in her jeans pockets. Once out in the hallways she started to eyeball the lockers, and she ripped one open... looked around inside it and grabbed a school hoodie out that was inside of it. She held it up to her chest and looked down at herself, then scoffed and tossed it aside, moved to another locker down about ten feet and popped it open, causing the lock to clang across the polished floor, Faith's brown eyes peered around inside THIS one now....

Spike has posed:
Spike was invited to this gathering. It surprised the hell out of him, but he was here, with the others, looking as nonchalant as possible. He had his feet on the table, a packet of crisps in his lap, salt and vinegar, no doubt from one of the school's vending machines, and there was a can of Soder-Cola on the table. Actually, not on the table. He currently had it under a 12th century text. He was using the priceless book as a coaster to protect a table that the school probably bought at Ikea. But at least he was thinking of the taxpayers of Bludhaven. He took another chip, which made a loud crunching sound. "I gotta say Giles, this is the best party I've ever been to in a high school library."

Buffy Summers has posed:
As Giles rants, Buffy is doing her best to look like she's paying attention. She sitting at one of the tables, legs stretched out underneath it. She's in her work clothes for the night with her ever present messenger bag slung across her torso. Jeans, tank top, lightweight leather jacket, boots. She has her thumbs tucked into her front pockets, casual and relaxed. When he starts going into babble mode, her eyebrows rise a little on her head and the glazed look recedes from her eyes. Something is up.

She sits upright, hand disappearing into the bag, as the doors slam open to admit who she can only guess is the person in question. "Library!" she calls out at a level that also does not respect the lcoation they currently occupy.

Rupert Giles has posed:
"Ahh yes well....ah...there are only so many ways to turn a library into anything other than what it is...which should be a place of silence and reading but it seems that ship sailed quite a while ago. So if I can't have a proper library, you can't have a proper party." And so Giles resorts to the 'neener neener' defense. "No there is something that I wanted to tell Buffy and thought it would be good for the rest of you to he--" and then he pauses, as well, turning around as the girl enters and starts yelling which, to be fair, does put a +1 under the party scoreboard instead of the library scoreboard. "Ahhhh....Mr. Constantine is not here at the moment. Would you like to leave a message for when he returns...or call him...from outside...where your voice won't project quite so...audibly?" Hrm. He's about to say something else when the other sound, of something out in the halls. "Oh are you kidding me. Buffy...." and he gestures to the doors. "Why don't you and Spike go see who's playing with the lockers?" His finger sgo to his temples as this s shaping up to be one of those types of days.

Amethyst has posed:
"I don't want to leave a message. Jerk's had it long enough and I'd very much like to go home eventually. When will he be back? I can wait." Amaya says, looking at the old man in glasses and crossing her arms. "I don't have a phone-and he hasn't been by his house in a while. You can only live so long in a pocket dimension with out needed to stretch your legs." She points out with zero care to hush.

Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith was rooting around inside of the closet now, tossing stuff out onto the floor at her feet. She picked up a flashlight she found inside it, clicked it on and then off, then on again and started shining it around inside. "Oh... shit." Faith quietly said, finding a plastic baggy of 'stuff' and she quickly grabbed it and pulle it out of the locker, stuffing it into the back pocket of her jeans. "God... I love highschoolers." Faith laughed a little and then turned around to walk down to another locker that had all kinds of girly crap on it. She ripped one of the pictures off the locker, shined the flashlight on it and rolled her eyes. "Cordelia? Who the hell names their kid 'Cordelia'." She quietly huffed, snorted and then threw the picture to the side.

With a heavy exhale, Faith started looking around the hallway. "Library... library... where for art thou, Library..."

Spike has posed:
Spike looks from the talkative blonde valley girl to the talkative blonde valley girl, and does a bit of double take. To one of them, he's not really sure which is which at this point, or he's pretending not to know, "you sure you don't have a cousin you haven't told us about?"

Getting up, Spike licked the last of the salt and vinegar chips from his well manicured and black painted fingertips. "Right-o, come on Slayer, let's see what's out there." Of course, sending a Slayer and a Vampire was probably overkill for most places. But in Bludhaven, that was just another Tuesday.

Buffy Summers has posed:
"I have a couple of cousins, actually. Alex and Scott," Buffy responds automatically as she gets out of her chair. "But that's none of your business."

Lockers? High school? Probably not going to be a vampire so she doesn't draw a stake out of the bag. She does keep her hand down inside of it so she can draw whatever might be necessary when the time comes. She walks past Spike, not giving him a second glance and pushes her way out the doors in search of whoever is out there. Nothing visible in the first hall.

A flash of light catches her attention in an adjoining hall so she goes that direction, coming around the corner and stopping at the sight of the other girl. The stuff strewn in the hall is noted, including the broken locks. "Rude much? Or did you forget the combination on all of your lockers?"

Rupert Giles has posed:
Rupert Giles watches Buffy and Spike leave to deal with one distraction and so he turns to Amethyst and leans back against the table, well one of th etables, and folds his arms in front of himself casually. "Well then," he says, as he looks over. "Sorry they had to run off so abruptly but I'm sure they'll be back. And the school may even still be standing after," he says, though the way his voice trails off, he doesn't actually sound convinced...at least not 100 percent. "So Mr. Constantine owes you something...some crystal. Is it a special crystal? We don't have it here, and sadly I don't know when he's going to be back. He was helping here but now that I've returned he's...on a bit of a vacation so that he can tend to other things. So I am afraid we're at a bit of an impasse. I can't make your crystal appear out of thin air, and you don't seem to intend to leave without it."

Amethyst has posed:
"Of course I don't. He spun me some this or that about some magically inclined folk so I've been sitting around the Mystery House cooling my heels, but I have responsibilities back home so if he isn't going to be needing me here, all the same, I have places to be. And if you don't believe all that you ask those girls he meets with-umm, Willow or Tara." She offers and stares Giles down just as levelly.

Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith saw a sign marked 'Return your Books Before School Ends! -->' at the end of the hallway and she exhaled. "Finally... I'm gettin' some serious gross vibes in this place, need t'a get the hell out--" Faith cut herself off when that 'sense' struck her... the sense that a Vampire was near.

When Buffy and Spike came around the corner just as she was about to reach it, Faith froze in her tracks, dressed head-to-toe in black, a tanktop, jeans, and a black leather jacket she looked from one of them, to the other...

And then cracked a smile at Buffy's locker joke. "Every last one of them, you got me! Buuuut... what the hell did I just come across?" Faith asked, "A student and a teacher... hidin' for a little love time?" Her head shook side to side. "That is just NASTY."

Faith looked at Spike. "What are you, like fifty years old? I mean, the cheekbones kind of hide it, but I can see it..." She slowly nodded her head. "You've got a dad-bod underneath all that goth gear, don't you, blondie?"

Faith reached out to poke at Spike's stomach, playing all 'nice'... But a moment later and she was going for Spike's neck! Hoping to shove him up against the nearby lockers and pull a wooden stake out of the back of her jeans, a wild look on her widened brown eyes and the strength of a Slayer behind her body's force!

Spike has posed:
Spike sees the light and thought about doubling back, going through a classroom, out a window, in through another window, and into a hall. Over the years, he had spent a surprising amount of time at this school. Bludhaven had many, and yet, all the action seemed to be focused at Sunnydale High School. So he knew it, and he had even made arrangements with some of the teachers to leave certain windows unlocked so that he could sneak in to use the school's shower. Vampires perspired, just like everyone else. He always wanted to ask Giles about that. If he didn't have a heartbeat, how come he could still sweat?

He was good at coming up with plans, good plans, that made strategic sense. He'd have made a great Vampire leader, if he had any desire to do so. Instead, he just follows after Buffy, like a good little soldier.

Already, he decided he liked the new girl, whoever she was, and he paid it back in kind. "Fifty, please! You better brush up on your biology and maths, which I teach by the way, if you think that." No harm in playing it up. "And if you don't mind, we were out for a nice, quick snog, so if you don't tell anyone, I'd be right appreciative of it. Say, what's your name?" And at the comment about the body, he straightens his jacket, strutting a bit and letting his stomach be on display through the Black Sabbath t-shirt, "I like to work out."

Sadly, playtime was over when she pins him against a nearby locker. He was enjoying it at first, right up until he saw the stake, and his left leg came out, trying to wrap around her leg and trip her. He hadn't realised the Slayer strength yet. Meanwhile, a hand went to block the one with the stake. "Christ!" He says in surprise. Okay, this was not what he signed up for. One vampire, two Slayers? Life can be so cruel.

Buffy Summers has posed:
For her part, Buffy is looking aghast at first Faith then at Spike as he encourages the whole teacher-student scenario. "Gross!" she says at the whole idea of it but that's really all she manages to get out before everything goes to a really hot place in a not structurally sound hand-crafted item.

Spike is more than capable of taking care of himself. That's what she tells herself. She plans to just let him get manhandled. Until the stake comes into play. "Dammit."

Having no idea what she's up against, she goes for a grab instead of a strike. Her hand attempts to catch the wrist nearest the stake, using her own strength added with Spike's to keep the stake from his chest. "Hands to yourself! He's off limits!" She brings her other hand up to try and grab Faith's shoulder, to pull her backwards, while a foot does to the back of a knee to try and knock her off balance.

Rupert Giles has posed:
"Well yes, I know Willow...and Tara. I'm glad you've gotten to know them...I think..." he asys, and listens up and hears the sound out near the door. "Would you excuse me...just one moment..." he says, in that Giles way of talking to someone...well more...giving words in someone's direction while his attention is clearly elsewhere. He starts walking towards the library double doors and out towards the hall. And that's of course when he sees the portions of combat that are in play, people being pushed and kicked and grabbed. And of course, broken locks. "You're all goign to feel very silly when you're all done with this, I think," he says, the stake that Miss Faith there has helping him at least take a 'stab' at what she is (oh yeah, I went there) while the other two he knows. "Might I suggest that everyone....a brief respite...return to your corners, and at least make introductions before beginning your battle royale once again?"

Amethyst has posed:
"Oh, could we choose a better phrase for free for all. There is nothing royal about that hot mess." Amaya comments, looking around Giles. She seems to have ignored his "Would you excuse" in favor of snooping herself. "Oh heeeeey, it's the drunk girl. I've seen her face around." Amaya smiles brightly. "Hey! Drunk girl! Hiya!" She calls out, still looking around Giles like he's a meat shield.

Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith's legs didn't budge when the Vampire tried to take her out like that, she wasn't just some girl off the street that hated the Twilight movies (okay, so she KIND Of is that actually). But no, its not till Buffy steps in that Faith is pulled backward and 'almost' stumbled, but not quite. "Get the hell off me, Cheerleader!" She shouted at Buffy and double-fist punched Buffy right beneath the collar bone with a tremendous amount of 'oomf' behind it!

Thats when Giles stepped in... Faith standing in the middle of the hallway with Spike ot her right and Buffy to her left (presumably). She looked as though she was deciding her next move... her next 'play' ... but then she just twirled her wooden stake in her hand and went to put it behind her back again, to stuff it back down into those low-rise jeans that were barely even going up her waist at all.

And with Amaya stepping out into the hallway with that 'voice' of hers, calling her 'drunk girl' (even if it were true), Faith just shook her head... "Screw this." She blurted out with a little laugh. "This place is a freakshow. I'm outta here." She went to turn back the way she'd come originally.

Spike has posed:
Spike was relived not to be staked. It was a rare day when he feared that, especially since he had become so chummy with the Vampire Slayer, or was that a Vampire Slayer. The girl looked to be the right age. And when he had tried to trip her, he felt searing pain in his head. The fear that his life depended on it enabled him to grit his teeth and bare it. And when he tried to get her hand, he wasn't intending to hurt her, so it didn't go off that second time. With a moment to actually focus, and let the adrenaline subside, he reached for his head, "God that hurt! Girl's human, whoever she is. And don't look down on a freakshow until you've tried it. Who knows, you might like it?"

Buffy Summers has posed:
"Oh hell no," Buffy says, moving to put herself in Faith's path. Because that attack? That hit to her chest that did push her back but at least she didn't sprawl on the floor like some noob to combat? That wasn't a human. "She's not human." Not precisely true so she tries again. "Well she's human but she's me. I mean, like me." She frowns and glares a bit at Faith.

"You may be a Slayer but he," she points at Spike. "He's mine. Ours. I mean, he's part of the team." This is so not going the way she wants it to. She folds her arms over her chest, clinging to hostility. "Giles, how the hell is she a Slayer too? I thought it was like that show with the guys cutting off heads. There can be only one."

Rupert Giles has posed:
"Let her go...." says Giles. The last thing he needs is two slayers getting into a fight on their first meeting. "There is usually one but this is a rather...extraordinary area." But in rare Giles form, there's an uncertainty in his voice. "So far everyone is still alive, relativly speaking," he says, looking to Spike and then back to the others. "Let her go...we'll find her again when she's had time to settle down. Not the first meeting I had planned but...all things considered and given our typical track record....that may have been better than average."

Giles turns and looks to Amaya now. "I don't have your jewel and we have some things to discuss tonight. I'll see what I can find out for you. Perhaps you can go attend to...drunk girl...and if you can get her to come meet with us again I'll work to get Mr. Constantine to give me what was taken from you. In the mean time...play time is over. Let's try to remember that there's a zero tolerance policy about violence on campus...." And with that Giles turns to head back towards the double doors.

Amethyst has posed:
"Rude." Amaya gasps and wrinkles her knows. "And it's an inter-planer amethyst sympathetic to my homeworld. It isn't a /jewel/." She tells Giles, drawing out the word and copying his accent poorly. "You tell your magicians they're on their own." she huffs and walks past, blonde hair whipping past her as she goes and looping an arm under Faith's. "Come on Drunk Girl. The Librarian has his manners up his ass something fierce."

Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith was several steps away by the time Amethyst was able to catch up with her. She'd heard everything that Buffy and the others had said behind her... 'two slayers' and all that jazz... whatever... she didn't give a shit anyway.

When the arm hooked with hers though, Faith looked down at it and then over at Amaya and glared at her. "Who the hell are you?" She asked, while continuing to walk toward the Gym's doors again, reaching out with her other hand to rip down a school banner and toss it behind her onto the floor.

Spike has posed:
Spike's eyes seemed to brighten when Buffy said that he belong to her. Curious slip of the tongue that, and if not for the company, he and the Slayer, the earlier slayer, would have words. He licks his lips as he got to enjoy the show. Another Slayer in town, one who would have no problem killing him, but Buffy didn't want it. It would prove interesting to see how the newcomer would treat him after this.

But as to her question. He had heard, through the grape vine, about that one. "Well, that's the thing about magical brouhahas. They're unusually specific. Back in the day, when a Slayer died, medicine was a bit more primitive than it is today. There were no defibrillators, C.P.R., or even chips. If she is what we all think she is, I'm thinking somewhere, along the line, you died for a second or two?"

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy tracks the progress of the exiting pair, frowning the entire time. Then she spins her attention back to Giles who is going the opposite way. Leaving her with Spike. Wonderful.

"Died? I think I'd remember dying, wouldn't I?" She's not so sure. Stranger things have happened in their lives. "There's the whole life flash before your eyes and I know that hasn't happened." There are things she wouldn't mind seeing again. Other things? Not so much. Speaking of... "You okay?" she asks softly, looking at his shirt to make sure he hasn't been perforated. Then before he goes and gets the idea she cares or something, she brusquely says, "C'mon, I still need to tell Giles about Denny's. She heads toward the library to finish what she intended before all the preaching and staking and hitting stuff happened.
