Why Is It Called The Idiot Box
Date of Scene: 26 November 2019
Location: Rec Room - Xavier's School
Synopsis: Vi, Pixie, Nathan, and Triage enjoy a documentary and conversation on various topics. Shannon and Jean Grey arrive and hint that other concerns await beyond the rec room.
Cast of Characters: Vi, Pixie, Hindsight, Triage, Nightingale, Phoenix

Vi has posed:
It's evening. There's a game going on in the gym, and a bunch of people are outside sledding and otherwise enjoying the snow before it might fully melt. Vi has chosen to spend the evening in the Rec Room, however. She has a bookbag beside her with a small stack of books in it, one of them in her lap. There is a bowl of grapes nearby, and also one of blueberries.

Though at the moment, Vi's attention is on the TV set. She has the control sitting nearby. The TV is on Animal Planet, and there's a documentary going about some of the world's more unusual creatures. At the moment they are showing animals in the Arctic that manage to survive freezing weather.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn isn't all that keen on snowy blowy coldy weather, and she has also opted to stay indoors. She's always been more of a summer girl afterall. But that's not to say she chooses to spend her time studying. Although she really should. With a tired sigh, she plops down on the sofa, peering at the TV and shivers. "Brr, that does not look funn.." she pouts as she watches, staring down at her backpack full of homework rather forlornly. "But it sure beats doing homework..Maybe?"

Hindsight has posed:
The new guy, Nathaniel Carver, is in good spirits, coming into the recreation room from the outdoors, a broad smile on his face. He's dressed appropriately for the surprise winter, in a burgundy winter jacket with a faux fur-lined hood and a dark blue scarf which he pulls off his neck upon entry. Cheeks flushed from the cold, he approaches the sofa where two girls are seated, just curious to see what the students here watch.

"You're into this stuff?" He asks, unzipping his jacket. "I dunno, call me sexist, but I expected reality TV or something."

Vi has posed:
Vi is dressed as if she has no plans to go outside today. She's wearing shorts, and a t-shirt with the Xavier's School log on it. The slender brunette is new to the school, and hasn't been a part of the normal classes with others.

She looks up as Megan comes in, the girl's wings getting a bit of examination by Vi. "There is a frog that just freezes. Solid. And then when it thaws, it's alive again and just goes on its way," she says in a mildly wondrous tone. She glances down at the book in her lap, which looks very thin, but the back cover is up and it's not easy to tell what it is.

The arrival of Nathaniel pulls Vi's attention next. The girl's brown eyes take in the sight of him all dressed up for the cold. "I'm sorry, you can change it if you like," she says, picking up the remote and offering it to him. "What is reality TV?" she asks him though.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn glances over her shoulder at the newcomer, not a person she recognizes from anywhere, except maybe briefly in a class or two. "Wha? Reality tv? Like what, Real Housewives? Puh-lease!" she makes a little face, her fairy wings fluttering in colors of violet and gray. She's been studying all day and a bit exhausted. "No girly girls here!"

With a grin she nods to Vi, another person she's probably only seen briefly in some of her classes but doesn't know that well either. "Woow, a frog that freezes and thaws without any damage? That's just...Weeeeird. I mean, I'd get major frost bite if that were mee!" she giggles, shaking her head, "But this is sooo cool!"

Hindsight has posed:
Nathaniel lifts a brow. At his house, the chances of getting the remote from another kid are low; so low that there's some shock (and some amusement) in his expression, as he accepts it. "Yo, they're frogs in the Arctic?? That's crazy! No way I'm changing that," He passes the remote back to Vi, with a grin. He never meant to suggest that it needed to be changed.

"Um, I more meant the Bachelorette or like Project Runway. Does that make me a girly girl?" says Nathaniel, to Megan, sticking out his tongue and poking fun at the juvenile term. "You literally have fairy wings!" He laughs, shaking his head, before looking at Vi. "Huh? You don't know what...man, this school is strange. Reality TV is one of the best and worst inventions of mankind. You can basically turn off your brain when you watch it. You won't need it."

Vi has posed:
Vi gives a quick nod of her head in agreement with Megan. Her expression though makes it seem a revelation to Vi. "I had no idea something could survive the cold like that," she agrees. Vi speaks with a very noticeable accent though she is not difficult to understand. Her English has an Eastern European sort of sound to it.

As Nathan offers her the remote back, she takes it, seeming grateful he's trusting her with it. "I'm not familiar with those," Vi tells him as Nathaniel rattles off a couple of shows. "The animals, it's 2-8-2," she says of the channel as she glances to the TV.

THe comment about turning off your brain gets a thoughtful look from Vi. "Everything I've watched has been kind of wonderous," she tells him. "But, is that why James called it the Idiot Box one time?" she asks him, speaking of another student, one who follows Peter Parker around a lot, looking up to the chemistry teacher.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn laughs a bit at Vi. "You find that surprising? I mean...Maybe it's like, a mutant frog or something. Considering we have people here like Iceman that do that no problemo, I'll bet they have like, mutant frogs n' stuff too!"

Glancing at Nathaniel, she arches a brow, "Woow, you're into that stuff? That's like...Sooooo girly. How about um..Ru Paul's Drag Race? That's fun.." Her wings continue to flutter at a hundred miles a minute as he mentions them, "Heey, just cuz I have fairy wings, doesn't make me a girly girll.." okay, okay, it TOTALLY makes her a girly girl, especially with the hot pink hair and her colorful array of fairy dresses n' stuff! But shh, don't tell anyone!

"Idiot box, huh? I mean..If you just watch cartoons, I guess..."

Hindsight has posed:
"Man," Nathaniel sighs, but there's a smile in his voice when he speaks again, "I bet normal frogs don't treat mutant frogs as bad as people treat mutants. Shame."

"Probably!" Nathanial has been here for all of five days, so James and Mr. Parker are unknown to him. For now. He doesn't need to know them to respond to Vi. "There's a bit of mindlessness associated with television, but most of this stuff is pretty good. Hey, where ya from?" He asks, friendly and picking up on the accent.

"Yasss," Nathaniel snappoints to Megan. "Very fun." Then, he brings his finger across his lips in a zipping motion. "Nothing wrong with being a girly girl. Won't tell a soul, promise. Scout's honor."

Vi has posed:
Vi's eyebrows go up a little bit again and her eyes widen. "We have an Iceman? Is he made out of ice?" She asks. "Is he able to move around the school or does he have to stay somewhere cold to keep from melting?" the brown haired girl at the end of her teen years inquires. Her tone is completely earnest.

Vi looks back to Nathaniel's explanation of the mindlessness of television. "I'm not sure how you tell when it's real or not," she tells him quietly. "The tiger with the long teeth that chased Lara was real, she said. But some things are just people pretending," she says, glancing to the TV again.

The question about where Vi is from causes her conversation to draw up short. There's a moment's hesitation as if Vi is trying to decide what answer to give. "I'm from a place called Echo," she says finally.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn pouts and nods in agreement with Nathaniel. "Yeaaah, you're probably right. Isn't that sad?" she lets out a soft sigh, bringing her knees to her chest as she continues to watch the nature show intently.

She's not sure if the question is directed towards herself or Vi, although she pipes up nonetheless, having a notable accent, "Me? I'm from Wales. The land of fairies!" she giggles, but is actually somewhat serious when she says that. Cuz they have their share of fairy-tales too!

She blinks at Vi, arching a curious b row, "Echo? Where's that? Never heard of it.."

Hindsight has posed:
"Just assume most of it's fake," Nathaniel snorts. "Unless it's the news. Well, actually, some of our politicians would disagree with that statement. If you have any questions, you're at a school full of teenagers who watch *excessive* amounts of television." He tosses his jacket over the arm of the sofa, leaning on the back with his elbows, behind the two girls.

He was asking Vi but smiles at Megan. "Cool. I'm boring. From Good ol' Texas," He drawls, in his best Texan accent. "Hm. I'm guessing there's no TV in Echo." More than that, he doesn't pry. Sounds complicated.

Triage has posed:
Chris strolls into the rec room, carrying a sandwich on a plate in his right hand, and with both a bottle of water and his quarterstaff cradled in the crrok of his left arm. He pauses at the door and looks at the group watching tne documentary. He appraises the unfamiliar young man , Nathaniel, with a quick but thorough sweep of his eyes. Then he nods to Vi and Megan. "Hey!" He greets. His tone is cheerful but with a slightly weary undertone. When Nathaniel mentions Echo, Chris glances to Vi and then volunteers, "Let's just say that Echo probably wouldn't qualify as a good spot for a vacation." Then he asks, "What are you watching?"

Vi has posed:
Vi is sitting on the floor, camped out in front of the TV. She has a book bag, and a very thin book in her lap. There are bowls of grapes and blueberries nearby as well. The teen seems to be considering how to answer the question about Echo, when Triage comes in and supplies one.

Vi's eyes go over to Triage and she gives him a grateful smile. She looks back to Megan and Nathaniel, and says, "It's a long distance by ship," she says quietly, before adding for Nathan, "And, no, there isn't any TV there. A lot of things here are kind of new for me. So if I make a mistake or say something stupid, it's just because I don't know a lot of things you guys do," she says, eyes looking away from them and showing a bit of self-consciousness.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn smiles and nods to Vi, "Oh yeah, and Iceman is totally real. He's one of the Xmen..He seemed pretty uptight though.." she bites her lip at the scolding she received from him for disobeying direct orders. When Triage arrives, she beams and waves to him cheerfully. "Hii Chris! We're watching a nature show with like, frozen frogs and other weird stuff.." glancing back to Vi, she shrugs, "Oh, really? No tv? Ummm so what do you do for funn?"

Hindsight has posed:
"Hi," Nathaniel greets Triage, with a small wave. The younger man is wearing a sweater and jeans, with his winter outer garments strewn about the arm of the sofa that Megan currently occupies.. Perhaps notably, he still has on the gloves he was wearing outside. "I'm Nathaniel," He's new evidently, newer than Vi even. "We're watching Animal Planet," he explains, with a gesture. Yep, frozen furries are trying to survive the snow. Just like him. He backs his still-rosy cheeks a few times.

"Hey, nothing wrong with that," he shrugs, not asking any more questions about this Echo place. "I'm new too, and there's a lot of stuff here that seems really weird to me."

Triage has posed:
Chris nods to Vi and smiles. When Megan answers about the documentary, he tilts his head slightly, a trademark signal of curiosity. "Frozen frogs?" He wonders. Then he shrugs. "New York must seem quite strange to a Texan," he adds, looking to Nathaniel. "Not that I've met many. I'm Chris, as you might have guessed," he adds, glancing to Megan and smiling. "I'm responsible for the Wellness Office." Then he hints, "I imagine that Vi would prefer to hear more about things here than talk." He looks to her for a moment before going to the corner to grab one of the beanbag chairs that await.

Vi has posed:
Vi picks a small branch off the bunch of grapes, holding it while she picks grapes from it to slowly eat one by one. She motions to the bowls and then to the others, "Have some if you would like," she says softly.

She looks to Chris, and gives a little nod at his statement. "Mostly games," she tells Megan, not going into any more detail than that. Instead she asks them some questions. "Are those places far away? Wales and... Texas," she says, speaking the second name slowly as if making sure she's saying it right. "Are they very different from here?" she inquires with the same kind of curiosity that led her to watching Animal Planet documentaries.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn arches a brow at Vi, "Gaaaames? What kinda games?" Oh, she's super curious now. "Oooh, nice to meet you two, by the way. I know I've seen you in some of my classes but never been introduced formally. My name's Megan, by the way." she nods to Vi, "well, I lived in a small town in Wales, is was really beautiful, full of nature. New York is really busy in comparison..Never been to Texas, although I hear it's pretty hot. And everything there is..Bigger?"

Hindsight has posed:
"Nice to meet you, Chris. And yeah, the traffic's way worse in Houston than here...but I've lived in New York for a few years now so. Snow's a myth there, but it's a welcome change," Nathaniel shrugs, and looks at Vi. "It's in the South, and you'd have to take a plane down. Compared to where you're from, it's not -that- different from New York." Comparatively, anyway.

"Oh, yeah," He smirks at Megan, and winks. "Bigger."

Triage has posed:
Chris pauses, looks at his plate, and then at the floor and the sofa. "Why don't you have a seat, Nathaniel?" He suggests. "I'll sit on the floor. I spent enough time in a seat on the flight." He looks to Vi and adds, "If you don't mind." His brow furrows for a moment, then he looks to Megan. "I remember learning in social studies that most children aroundd the world play some variations of the same games - tests of skill, sports, that sort of thing."

Vi has posed:
Vi smiles a bit though as she's asked about the games. "Sometimes we'd throw a knife at a mark and try to be the closest. And there's a game, Roush, where you drop a ball and pick up different shaped pieces of carved wood. Some of the younger kids would jump a rope if there was room. And, sometimes we'd sing but we had to keep our voices kind low," she explains.

Vi looks back to Triage, giving him a friendly smile and nods as he asks about sitting on the floor. "Please," the nineteen year old tells him. Meanwhile the TV documentary is continuing on. Showing a polar bear and talking about how they have been noted traveling straight to a carcass 30 miles upwind of them.

The TV shows a huge polar bear pawing at a snowcat machine, where the driver can be seen. Vi gasps. "It's that big?" she asks, a little wide-eyed. "Do they have those around here?" she asks a little worriedly.

Hindsight has posed:
"Sounds like you're right," says Nathanial, to Triage. He recognizes all of those games, besides Roush. The white-haired mutant rounds the sofa and drops lightly on it. "Don't mind if I do." He reaches out and plucks a grape from the bowl and throws it into his mouth.

"Fuck no," he chuckles, shaking his head. "New Yorkers would flip if they saw one on the streets, and I'm guessing Mr. Polar Bear wouldn't be too happy either."

Triage has posed:
Chris lays his quarterstaff on the floor and then settles beside Vi, taking a blueberry from her bowl and savoring it while he joins her in looking at the screen. Having seen scenes like this on TV in the past, he simply turns to her and nods. "They're quite large," he confirms. "The producers probably chose that scene to show how big and how agressive they can be." He opens his bottle of water but before sipping some of it, he adds, "We don't have polar bears here, except in zoos. We do have other bears in remote parts of the state." He sips from the bottle and then lowers it. Reaching for his sandwich, he adds, "You're safe here."

Over his shoulder, he nods to Nathaniel. "That would cause a panic, but then, anything bigger than a horse could cause that in some areas."

Vi has posed:
Vi looks between Nathaniel and Triage as they talk. The explanations from Chris result in smiles from Vi. Her expression shows gratitude for the explanations, as if she realizes he's taking the time for things everyone else here just knows.

She looks back to the TV. "I... don't think they could hurt me. If I was ready for them," she says thoughtfully, a hand going to her chin to hold it in that way that people do when they are thinking. "But it would be SO big," she says.

Vi looks back to the pair and asks, "A zoo, that is where people keep animals? Is there one near here?" Apparently she's picked up that much from her Animal Planet watching late at night.

She sets aside the thin book that was resting in her lap, the front of it up now so it can be read. It's Fox in Socks by Dr. Seuss. She leans over to get some of the blueberries, a handful which she tosses one up to catch it in her mouth. She chews it and then tries another, but it bops her in the nose and bounces along the floor instead.

Hindsight has posed:
"Yeah, I mean, there are a few zoos in New York City," Nathaniel explains. "And I'm sure one of them has a polar bear. You don't want to attack it, though, prepared or no." He watches Vi's antics with a wide grin, clapping on her first success. It's an endearing sight. "So close."

Nightingale has posed:
Some days, you just needed a little comfort food. For the mansion's resident winged healer, that entailed dragging herself into the rec room, wings drooping, her entire demeanor reeking of exhaustion. But, Shannon would not seek rest, not without the one thing she craved. But what could that be?

     A root beer float.

Honestly, there were days when absolutely nothing else would do, and this was one of them. Her baggy gray tank top and her red tartan sweatpants seem to be the order of the day, with her big, fluffy sheepdog slippers shuffling along the floor as she heads for the bar to concoct one of those delectable delights, not pausing for one single second until she has her glass in hand, and can take at least a sip.

Phoenix has posed:
Jean does her round up for the night, and with the administrative work completed for the time being, she goes to the one place she's sure to find a student or a few. The tapping of her heels heralds her arrival, before the door opens and she steps inside, looking about to see if she's interrupting something before asking, "before I wrap up for the night, is there anyone who has anything they want to share with me, or anyone that needs help with anything?"

Triage has posed:
Chris nods at Nathaniel's answer abotu the zoos. "The city has some famous zoos. Most are open throughout the year although some animals prefer to stay indoors." Looking to Vi, he adds, "Polar bears don't care much as long as their handlers keep their pools cool." He watches the blueberry arch upward and then drop into Vi's mouth. He grins. When she tries again but misses, he simply nods and offers, "I'll get it."

Leaving his plate and bottle, he takes to hands and knees to pursue the rolling berry, which he drops onto his paper plate.

He settles again beside Vi and then looks to the door in time to see Shannon and her drooping wings. "That can't be good," he predicts, frowning. Then he taps Vi's book and smiles. "It's been a long time since I've seen that - one of many old friends that I should revisit." He has barely finished speaking when Jean arrives. He waves.

Vi has posed:
Vi and Triage are sitting on the floor. There are bowls of grapes and blueberries nearby being eaten. Nathaniel is on the couch, while Megan has wandered off. The TV is tuned to Animal Planet and is showing a documentary about animals in the Arctic. Near Vi is a copy of the book Fox in Socks by Dr Seuss.

"I would really like to go then. Are there any that have giraffes? They are animals with really long necks," she says, looking between Nathaniel and Chris. The mention of the book gets a smile from her. "I'm able to read it now without any hesitations sounding out words. If you'd like to borrow it you can," she tells Chris.

Vi looks up, giving Shannon a soft smile. And then one for Jean as she comes in. "Hello Miss Grey," she says warmly, and lifts a hand to wave towards her. "How are you this evening?" she says, asking after Jean rather than bringing her any issues.

Hindsight has posed:
"Hello, Miss Grey," greets Nathanial, the white-haired mutant sitting straighter in the presence of the school's principal. It isn't a great change, just a bit of an adjustment to his typically laid-back posture. He is still very new and somewhat interested in making a good impression. He glances at Shannon, brows drawing together in mild concern, at the girl's state, but he looks to the headmistress. "I'm alright, thanks."

"Yeah, they do," he says about giraffes. "Don't know how the heck they get them in there, but they're there."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon looks up only when she's had a moment to let the anodyne of a glass full of cold, sweet, creamy comfort work its magic on her for a moment; her wings lift, but only slightly. Jean gets a weary smile and a small wave, and Vi is offered similar; she'd seen the girl once or twice before, but never really spoken to her at any length. But, as she lifts her glass to her lips, her eyebrows loft.

One voice in particular catches her attention, which she had not expected to hear for several more days yet. Her wings ruffle slightly behind her, and a small smile plays upon her lips. "Chris... is everything okay? You're back early!"

Nathaniel is offered a nod and a light smile. "Hello there... Nate, right? I'm really bad with names sometimes."

Phoenix has posed:
Triage gets a wave and a smile in return from Jean, as she surveys the room to see if anyone wanted to take her on her offer. Her smile widens somewhat to the sight of Vi, as she remarks, "I'm very happy to see you're getting along with other students, Vi. Did our road trip help in any way?"

Answering Vi's question, Jean admits with a stiffled chuckle, "I'm a bit exhausted, I worked hard today, and most of it wasn't the 'fun' kind of work. I could use a good sleep."

"How are you liking the school so far, Nathaniel?" Jean asks, inclining her head at his improved posture.

Triage has posed:
"I didn't work but the flight /seemed/ like work," Chris answers, looking with a weary smile to Jean and then Shannon. "I'm glad to be back." He nods to Vi and then explains to the newly arrived ladies, "We've been watching a documentary about polar bears and other wildlife, and talking about remote places like Wales and Texas." He nods in turn to Megan, now dozing on the couch, and Nathaniel, now quite alert and attentive to the headmistress. "Most zoos have giraffes. They don't care for the cold but they're popular enough that zoos usually have an indoor enclosure where people can see them. I'm sure that we could visit one."

Vi has posed:
The news about the giraffes is eminently pleasing to Vi. Her face lights up with such excitement at the prospect she might be able to see some that are nearby. "That would be great if we could," she tells them.

Vi looks to Jean and gives her a big smile. "It helped a lot. I feel like I got a little glimpse at least of what things are like for people outside of the school. And it made me think too about what I might like to do," she says. "I'd never really thought about that before. I mean, it's just not something you ever think about because... well, you don't. I told Clint and May I think I might like to help people the way they do at SHIELD," she tells Jean.

Hindsight has posed:
"It's okay," Nathaniel says to Shannon. "I don't have cool wings like half of the student body, so I know I'm not as memorable."

Jean uses his full name and gets a grateful smile, though he doesn't correct Shannon. "It's good. Everybody's so nice here. Not gonna lie, it's a little weird," he shrugs. "But yeah, I like here it a lot."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon frowns slightly, lowering her glass and moving towards the sofas. Looking to Nate, she sighs softly. "I'm sorry... that wasn't meant badly. I just haven't seen you around much yet. The lack of wings doesn't make a difference." An apologetic smile is offered, and she ducks her head, her wings drooping once more.

She considers Jean's offer briefly, and runs her fingers through her hair; the motion sets her thin, glacier-blue braid with its little silver beads on the end swaying. "Perhaps... but I'm not even sure if this is the time or the place to share." Her words are laced with worry and concern, her brows furrowing as she lets her words hang there.

Phoenix has posed:
"That's educational, I'm glad you're managing to get some educational pastime into your rec room time. I really thought it was all about the video game, that's a great sign," Jean says proudly at Triage.

"That's great, maybe we should do another road trip sometime, and that could be a very good use of your skills, Vi. If that's truly what you're interested in, maybe they can help you get more involved."

"A lot less than half the student body have wings, Nathaniel, it's actually one of the rarer mutations." Jean grins, and then offers another wave, "well, if nobody has any pressing issues, I'll be off. I'll have office hours at the usual time tomorrow, but you can feel free to always come and see me."

Hindsight has posed:
"It's all good," Nathaniel chuckles, assuring Shannon. "Really. I don't mind." He stands and collects his scarf and jacket, which he draped over the sofa's chair. "Really?" He smirks at Jean. "You could've fooled me. There's Jay, Shannon, Gwen, Megan," who was snoozing peacefully next to him. He considers waking her, but she looks comfortable. "Anyway, goodnight. I did have a couple of questions about power training," Like if he's required to do it. "But it can wait for the morning probably."

He waves to the rest of the students, before slipping away to head to his room.

Triage has posed:
Chris grins and waves to Jean. "Miss Grey, you should rest while you can," he urges. "I'm sure that tomorrow will be as busy as today was, unless we are truly fortunate." He nods to Vi and then Nathaniel when they decide to leave. "It was good to meet you, Nathaniel," he calls after the new student. "Vi, I enjoyed the blueberries." He looks briefly to Megan as if considering whether he should leave her to her peaceful sleep. He stands and collects the bowls that Vi had left, stacking one inside another and placing his own plate with still uneaten sandwich on top. "It's a rec room, but we shouldn't leave it in a wreck," he quips to Shannon.

Phoenix has posed:
"We'll cover it tomorrow, Nathaniel," Jean says as she stops for a moment by the door, before winking at him as she adds, "and that's 5 out of...? I really do hope your teacher covered the importance of sample size in statistics!" With that she leaves the rec room.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods and smiles wearily at Chris, taking another swig of her root beer float. She shuffles about the rec room, and by the way she's moving, one is left to wonder just what the heck she's been up to; her steps almost seem like wincing, but she doesn't make a sound. Thankfully, though, she's not molting, as she does what she can to help pick up the dishes around the rec room. "Well, whatever brought you back early, I'm glad to see you."

Triage has posed:
"I'm glad to be back," Chris answers. There is not much to collect apart from the bowls of berries and grapes and the plate that he brought with him. He finds a fluffy pillow and blanket in one of the chairs. He takes those to the sofa. He unfurls the blanket and spreads it over Megan, tucking it around her. Then he carefully lifts her head and slips the pillow beneath it. "I might need to tend to a few things in the city, but none will keep me away for more than a day," he assures. He watches Shannon while she hobbles around the room. "Megan should be safe here," he concludes. "You look as if you should rest," he recommends. "After a week away, I should find my bed, too."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn is totally not dead, just in a very very deep sleep. And murmuring to herself about cotton candy..And butterflies. And clowns. She giggles and turns over to her other side, but since she's on a couch, she totally ends up rolling onto the floor and hitting her head, which of course causes her to bolt up right, totally wide awake.

"IGOTCHANOW...ARfgghugh?" She blinks in confusion, rubbing her head, glancing around. "...Owww....?"

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods reluctantly, though it looks as if she has a lot on her mind. It seemed as if it would have to wait for the moment. She hobbles on over to Chris and hugs him briefly, but tightly, wings and all. "You're right. But that doesn't mean I have to like it." The thump gets her attention, just briefly, and she frowns. "What the...?"

Triage has posed:
Chris starts to return the hug but over Shannon's shoulder, he sees Megan's stirring and then the sudden THUD. He winces reflexively. "Megan, that was an unauthorized fall," he teases, but he steps around Shannon and asks, "Are you okay?" He offers a hand to Megan. "You should go to your room and sleep. I'm sure that it's much more comfortable than the sofa."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks slowly, peering at the floor. "Ooh, how did I get here? I'm sooo sleepy.." she glances around, seeing that the other two students she had been talking to have since vanished. "Oh. It's really late. It's like..Hehe, you probably wanna lock up the Rec room for the night. Sorreee! I'll just...Uh...Ahem!" she clears her throat and closes her eyes as she crawls to her feet. "S...Sihal novarum chinoth!" For a second, she is surrounded in brilliant pink light and magical sparkles. When it clears, Megan has totally vanished. Like, totally!

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon blinks, looking a little surprised at the somewhat showy exit, but shrugs a little. At least the only thing injured on Megan, if anything at all, was just her pride from the fall. "Maybe a little ice cream before sleep, then? This is definitely one of those days for comfort food." She smiles wearily at Chris, nodding towards the kitchen. "Maybe see what's left from that big bet we won with Jubilee?"

Triage has posed:
When Megan sleepily mutters her charm and disappears in a flash of pink light and an audible pop that appropriately sounds like someone popping bubble gum, Chris sighs and shakes his head. "Another perfectly normal day at the mansion." He looks to Shannon and nods to his plate. "I'll have my tuna sandwich first, and you can bring me up to speed with whatever happened here." With a flourish toward the door, he invites, "After you."

Nightingale has posed:
Glad for the company and the invite, Shannon nods, heading towards the door as indicated. There was a lot to share, but at least it would be over some sweet comfort food. Perfectly normal day at the mansion, indeed. Normal? That's relative--especially here.
