Synopsis: Intergang hits an art gala, and is stopped by some heroes, and some not-heroes. Superwoman is ... kidnapped?
Cast of Characters: Grace Choi, Superwoman, Sarah Osborn, Crusader, Sublime, Kaelyn Silverleaf
Tinyplot: Apokolips Now

Grace Choi has posed:
The message had gone out, after the failure of Gotham. Bruno Mannheim was not happy. And the rest of Intergang was hearing it. What had been a beautiful plan - a plan that would've left even Batman stumped (in Bruno's opinion) had fantastically failed due to lack of security of plans and greed on half of Intergang Gotham. And, the other districts were not to make the same mistake. Or Bruno would have their heads.
Thus, it's not been an easy time at all for law enforcement. While they had good, solid guesses as to what other areas Intergang might be involved in due to the change in gang activity there was no further evidence. No further eyewitness accounts. No plans despoiled, or leaked. And, no real solid sense for what Intergang's next attack would be. Or where. Only, of course, it WOULD come. And it would come with extremely potent weaponry not of this Earth. That much had been made clear - even SHIELD an SWORD had no idea where the tech came from. And that was saying a lot.

Many law enforcement officials were betting on Luthor Financial, one of the premiere banks in Metropolis. Some federal agents were watching an unmarked delivery van set to transport newly minted plates for the $100 bill to Washington D.C. in a very, very lowkey manner. And others were at the harbor where, very much a hidden government secret, nearly $500 million was being sent overseas, mostly in the form of gold for government bribes. All of these targets were suspect along with the present art exhibit. Hosting some of the worlds most famous paintings, and statues in world history. Many on loan from private collectors, and other musuesms, the show boasted a collected works of art near the same $500 million dollars and all proceeds of ticket sales ($50 each) were going towards art programs and education across the globe, especially in third world countries, but even locally here in the United States where some programs had been shut down.

It's at the that Grace Choi has taken one Rachel Goldman, and the two of them have been looking around the art exhibits for a small portion of the evening. It was something 'different' to do that the waitress had suggested. So, here they were. And, the 7 foot tall half-Amazon redhead was getting more than a few stares, and not just due to her height. The half-shirt she was in, and the cargo pants didn't quite fit in with most of the suits, dresses, and higher socialite apparel that was being worn by the majority of the crowd.

Superwoman has posed:
Far above the city of Metropolis a woman floats, her legs crossed. Her uniform of blacks and silvers and whites, with the Shield of Hu-Ul across her chest marks her as Superwoman. Her eyes are half lidded and her arms rest on her knees. She's scanning the city. Listening. Far more aware of the going ons of the city below her than one might think given her meditative posture. She's waiting. She's watching. Superwoman is on the job- fully aware that given recent events in Gotham that more trouble was likely.

Its only a matter of time- weapons like that have support behind them. Superwoman didn't think for a moment it was an isolated incident.

Sarah Osborn has posed:
So what is Sarah Osborn doing in Metropolis? She is working...as in trying to make money type working. She is only 16, so a lot of regular jobs are out, but she is known to be gifted with things like lighting (anything electronic or mechanical really). So here she is, helping the Museum set up the displays for best presentation. Her Goblin-girl equipment is not cheap, and not everything can be buildt from scrap. Of course, said equipment (at least the basiuc one) isd out in the saddlebaggs of her motorcycle...it is Sarah working here not Goblin-girl.

Crusader has posed:
With no clear idea of when and where Intergang was going to strike, it made knowing where to go impossible. Intergang didn't just have advanced weaponary...but alot of smarts too if they managed to somehow keep hidden.

Crusader breaks it down in his head - unless intergang has gotten a ship or alot of vehicles prepared - moving gold would be fairly difficult. Their last target was a bank...but would intergang strike the same place twice? Doubtful - the art exhibit offered the most bang for buck. Folks paying big money for tickets at a large exhibit - not to speak of the fact stolen art can be worth alot of money to art collectors. Making the already valuble peices, even more valubles

Crusader decides to stake out the art exhibit. At least for now. He was letting his cyberpathy creep outwards trying to get any semblance of the alien tech. He can't mess with it (yet) but perhaps he might be able to sense the technology before intergang hits hard. For now he was a stranger among the crowd - a favorit tactic of his to get upcose and personal quickly without setting off any alarms

Sublime has posed:
Rachel is blissfully unaware of any of the new gang activity. Oh, she's heard of it, but it's really not at the top of her thoughts as she wanders the exhibit with Grace. She's dressed with a bit more care for where she's been brought to, but not so much that she fits in either, really. Comfortable, semi-formal at best, and really, the only person she cares about if they like it or not is wandering next to her.

She pauses at the next exhibit thoughtfully. "Hmm, I like that this is more realist than modern." She glances up at the taller woman, smiling faintly. "Never really got the random splotches of paint look. But this stuf..." She glances back at the picture of a styled Wonder Woman holding a shield above her head, protecting a huddle of people of various ethnicties and ages. "...it's kinda neat. Kinda overblown, but that's art." She shrugs her shoulders. "I didn't think stuff like this was your thing, honestly." She doesn't sound shocked, just mildly curious. "But it's been a while for me too...my folks were really into this when I was younger."

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
She had been actually trying to work with the Justice League as much as she could as Kae had been at the last Intergang get together... So after well kind of trying to use magic to investigate the clues she was able to pick up at the last site, Kae is now sitting at a cafe in the art museam, the woman having some sunglasses on as she looks around. She had an idea it might be in this city where things would happen, and of course the art exhibit would be a good place to stake out.

So Kae has entered a number of rather nice clockwork art pieces into the exhbit in pretext of like selling the things... They are however interlaced with divination and tracing spells. And with a command capable of movement. Kae's also got her pockets full of potions, unguents, and one shot items at this point in case things get hairy yet again.

Kae takes a deep breath and tugs her phone from her pocket, looking at it, and more importantly getting the telemetry and images all those various clockworks, and even a couple statue constructs send to her phone... She flips through the various items and mutters to her self, before she pockets the thing... She wishes she had her combat construct ready for something like this, something tells her she's going to need it.

Grace Choi has posed:
"It's not my thing. Just figured it would be romantic, or some shit like that," suggests Grace, very unromantically. But, it's true enough, and one thing Rachel is learning quickly about Grace is she more or less says what she wants to say. She adds, "Some of it's pretty decent to look at. And on the plus side, I can actually -get- most of this stuff. It's not like that stupid 3D art that you stare at and get a headache from and never really see what it is in the first place. Total ripoff," she complains, good-naturedly.

That's, of course, when Faora will see with her supervision two armored trucks, along with three black sedans all swerve and pull right in front of the gala, while another two trucks park in the back.
Almost in synchronous motion, men with weapons - some with pistols, others with rifles, all file out of the vehicles and most begin to immediately move into the gala event where they immediately proceed to make their presence known by blasting a few holes into the ceiling, sparing the art to get attention.
"Anybody causes a ruckus, they're getting vaporized. Anybody tries to prevent us from getting what we want? They're getting vaporized. Anybody stands up to us? The art is getting vaporized. Now that we're all on the same page? ... Everyone get in the corner. Over there." The man barking the orders points to a corner in which drinks and food can be had. Away from the art while his cohorts move in, spreading out and making to take the paintings off the walls. It's go time.

"You have -got- to be #*$&ing kidding me," growls Grace, low, to Rachel. "What the $*$& is this #*$&. &$&$ $*$&$!" But, to her, the guns are - new. She's read about what happened in Gotham. And, there's a lot of armed men. A lot of innocent people. Her hands go up, slowly. And she starts to move towards the corner, with the rest of the scared crowd. Only Grace doesn't look scared. She looks -pissed-. "Ruining my date. $*$&holes," she snarls at one of them, as she passes.

Sarah Osborn has posed:
Sarah palms the remote control for the lighting, and walks slowly over the the corner as directed. She plays with the controls, altering the settings on color and strobe rate. A lot of people might not thank her for this, but the human eye can cause a lot of feedback effects direct to the brain. This one should make anyone with normal human reflexes that is not colorblind who approaches any of the art displays violently ill and inflict vertigo...

Crusader has posed:
Crusader senses the guns - he had already come across them once in Gotham and knew he wasn't looking for anything close to being on earth, as such the stuff he senses in a nearby motorcycle does not draw his attention. Of course that means very little when the men start pouring into the building and shooting up the walls
Crusader immediatly goes into stealth mode, blending into the enviroment and being hidden. While hidden his form take that of Crusader instead of a human guise...but he dosne't reveal himself yet. He learned from his last interaction that it is sometimes better to wait and make a move.
He wasn't sure if /all/ allies in the Justice League gets a communicator or not such as Superwomen, but he none the less broadcasts over their comm system "Any folks of the League...intergang is making their move. Hostages already taken and moved into a corner. They will shoot them...procede carefully if you hear this."

He quickly begins trying to see how many Intergang member are around the hostages in his area, trying to gather as much infomation as he can before going for a plan of attack

Superwoman has posed:
Faora's eyes open wide- a flash of energy there for a moment as she turns to watch the men with weapons and the actions they take. "As expected." Superwoman states before she is a black and silver blur- landing near the largest concentration of vehicles. She does not rush in to make a target of herself- no- she quietly moves to land on the roof- and looks closely below herself- reading the crowd below. Looking for the leader of this group, and scanning deep to the weapons and people involved. She's gathering more information before making her move.

Sublime has posed:
At the sudden rush of gang types carrying what look like very high tech weapons, Rachel slips behind Grace a bit, reaching up to touch her bare hand to the other woman's back. To most, she just looks like she's hiding a bit, especially when she widens her eyes and puts a little acting into it. She follows after Grace, looking the picture of a meek young woman who doesn't want nay trouble

Even as she murmurs to Grace once they're past the nearest.. "Can phase us if we can get somewhere they won't notice...or if they try to fire."

That wideyed look doesn't go with the tenseness that runs through the young woman's body, as her feet shift slightly into a more balanced fighting stance as they find a spot in the corner, frowning at the armed men. And of course...Grace does stand out...so it's a bit hard to blend into the crowd of finely dressed men and women.

Still...once she's more out of sight, her gaze turns cool as she starts evaluating the situation. "Not sure what those things fire, but I'm guessing it'd hurt like hell." she murmurs to Grace.

The sudden rush of vertigo makes her blink as she actually leans into Grace for a moment, blinking and taking a breath, not sure what's happening for a moment, before she takes a deep breath, trying to center herself. Eeeeasy stomach.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae frowns and sighs... "I really wish I wasn't right." She mutters to her self, as the men race in. She tries to activate the enchantments that 'encourage' folks not to notice the various jewelry and baubles she wears on her self, nevermind they're made of things like brass, copper and nickel, and only semi precious stones, at least how they look, so they aren't technically worth that much...

She taps her phone once, activating the protective magics she had placed in her little art entries, hoping that they'll be enough to reflexively protect the bystanders, and secondary the artwork. These constructs and clockworks were actually built to not ust look nice specificially to project damage wards over bystanders... IT's one thing Kae is rather good at, trying to limit secondary damage. However, offensively, right now, Kae still considers her self lacking

Kae keeps her sunglasses on though, happy for them as someone activates some kind of wierd color montage, the girl blinking briefly and happy her experience seeing into thearcane and other crazy stuff has made her kind of resistant to such things. She calmly places her phone in her pocket as she looks at the various gangsters, and reaches for a trio of spheres she keeps in her pocket as wel as casually pulling what looks to be a war hammer of sorts from her belt buckle of all places as she tries to remainout of the Thug's attention for now.

Grace Choi has posed:
    As expected x 2.
The lessons did not go unlearned from the failures in Gotham. And while Bruno Mannhiem may be a bit of a thick-headed, overzealous man, one thing he is not is stupid. And, he'd sent Metropolis Intergang here with a purpose. So, when Superwoman lands on the top of the armored van? The back of the van opens, and a small grenade pops out. If one can even call it that. It's more -- more like a ball. The ball suddenly squeals. It's a sonic bomb, beyond loud, beyond reason. So loud that the windows in the surrounding buildings shatter, up to several floors. And it gives time for the remaining men to get out - another six in total, from the back of the van and spread out. One, reaching his position before the others takes aim, and shoots at Superwoman with a concentrated blast of energy unlike anything she's been hit by before. Faora, or another Kryptonian may come to find the weapons are almost more powerful than their own heat vision.

Inside, it's a different matter entirely. The man shouting orders -- and Faora (as well as the others) can distinguish him by the fact he's barking orders and one of those orders as the strobe lights it is, "Doesn't anyone -listen-?!" Three of the men crouch down, look away. Of the remaining number in the room, twelve in all, two of them shoot out the strobing lights with a quick burst of energy while one of the other gang members turns and fires a shot at the crow with a pistol -- they're going through with it as promised.

Grace's back smolders. One can see tissue, there, if one is looking. The smell of acrid, burnt skin permeates the immediate area. And Grace Choi falls down on her knees -- then onto her face. But the woman and boy who was originally in the path of the blast? They're okay. Quite possibly the only thing that allows Grace to barely breathe now is the fact of a combination of Kaelyn's wards, the lower power of the pistol weapon versus the rifle, and Grace's own physique.
r    "Told you. Don't. Mess with us," snarls the boss.
"Anyone else wanna play hero?" He waves his weapons towards the crowd, then looks back to the 'boys'. "Start loading up the artwork. Quick. There's trouble outside. As we expected."

Sarah Osborn has posed:
Given her own enhanced reflexes, Sarah is not effected by the flicker effect, but she pretends to be suffering the nausea and vertigo, and falls to the floor clutching her stomach as do many of those nearby. She is trying to come up with a plan, but so far it is not working. She does not want anyone hurt, and even if she were in armor, she probably could not stand up to these blasts...and she is not in her armor just now. She could take down any one of these goons easily enough, but probably not more than three before someone gets hurt...she needs a better option.

Superwoman has posed:
Superwoman is struck not once, but twice. The shriek has her reeling, followed by the strikes that blast her back off the truck- even as glass falls around them in a shower.

She's only down a minute, before she's shoving the truck- hard- towards the men who've attacked her. Its a gut response from a life-long soldier. Someone's trying to take her down, and training takes over.

And Faora's training is not the touchy-feely don't cause serious injury type of training. Her uniform is already tattered where she took the shot- right to the chest, skin singed as she somehow remains barely modest. Blood trickles down from her ears... her hearing just a ringing. Luckily, its not the first time Faora's found herself in this situation. She'll dive next for a man with a rifle- operating on instinct and training alone. She needs a weapon.

Crusader has posed:
Crusader narrows his eyes while in stealth mode. Those strobe lights have already caused them to shoot and almost kill two innocent people...and already took one person down. This was not good, not good at all.

The time to act was now

His first priotiy was to get these hostages out of here before anyone else is shot. His form sinks into a puddle and flows rapidly towards the corner. He luckily wasn't too far away. Once at a reasonble spot he does the only thing he can think

His puddled form takes the shape of a huge fist and punches a hole in the wall to break through to the other side.

The moment he does...the fist would stretch out across the hole and the corner to try and act as a living wall while hostages escape...if they escape. He just hopes he is tough enough to tank a few shots.

Sublime has posed:
There's a shriek from Rachel as the Amazon next to her crumples. "GRACE!" She goes on a knee, her eyes getting a panicked look for the moment, before she huffs out a breath, seeing the woman is still breathing, a flicker of relief quickly disappearing behind a more professional mask momentarily. She can't allow that to happen again. They're sitting ducks, and Grace might not survive a second shot. The fancy crowd definitely won't. She breathes out slowly.

Unobtrusively, she kicks off her heels, a flash of pure rage running through her eyes momentarily as she looks down at the stricken Amazon, before she takes a deep breath.

And shrieks in her very best 'outraged blonde freaking out voice'. "You SHOT her!!! HOW COULD YOU SHOOT HER!!??" And she kicks off and is stalking at speed towards the thug in question. "How DARE you?!?" she squeals, making as big a scene as she can. If they're watching her "hysterics", they're not shooting at Grace or the others.

As she does, she drops her density down as low as she can, save for the soles of her feet so she doesn't phase right through the floor. But so any shots aimed high at her will pass through.

She just needs to get in arm's reach, after all...

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae frowns a bit as she sees a person get damaged through a ward... Didn't happen last time. She thinks to her self and concentrates on the items that she'd placed around to make the wards, trying to get some information from them about the nature of the energy used... She continues to be passive, not trying to draw attention as she subtly makes adjustments to the wards for the energy type of the weapon, hoping to make the ward its self feed on the energy rather than be blown though, or at least be better to absorb and or deflect the blasts...

Kae looks up after having made that minor adjustment, and holds the three spheres in her hand, palm up... She glances around the place and then glances to a grouping of thugs, more importantly the ones seeming most intent on shooting someone, before she sees crusader come blasting through the wall. Kae teleports the spheres in and amongst the cooks... The spheres drop from a few feet in height and then crack open.

Instead of gas, or an explosion, they're gateways. A seven sided star with a circle snaps open at the point of impact as the circle tries to pull in the thugs nearest it and before another opens up some other direction and flings the thug, sans weapon flying through the air in some seemingly random direction. "Gotta suck for them.." Kae mutters, then frowns. "Bad joke..." She grips her hammer, and makes sure to check the more powerful ward bracelet she has on, thinking ... o O (Here we go!)

Grace Choi has posed:
Outside, the van goes careening with Superwoman's power behind it, and there's one very crushed criminal body beneath it as the armored vehicle impacts the much softer and more malleable human flesh. The man with the rifle that she's attacking does the only thing he can do, he tries to fire at Superwoman before she hits him. Thing is? She's Superwoman. Faster. Stronger. And, after watching what she just did with the truck? He's nervous. And, his finger isn't on the trigger right.
"Take her down," calls one of the men, and the remaining four men all aim, and all shoot at Superwoman with their rifles at the same time. They don't seem to be especially concerned with killing her. Now? Now they all know they're fighting for their own lives, too.

Inside, one of these times perhaps one of these men will pick up on that strange puddle that has been present, twice, now. That puddle that's caused more than a few problems. But, too much is happening for any of them to see. Half the lights have been shut off, and over half the people are experiencing the dimming effects of the induced flicker vertigo caused by Sarah. Art is being pulled off the walls ... and then there's a hole being torn in the wall where all the hostages were being held at. Luckily for Crusader? Only two of the men, the boss and a henchmen are guarding the hostages now -- the rest are moving through the gala to pilfer and plunder the art as quickly as they can.
The leader shoots at Rachel, ... his blast going straight through her, and nailing Crusader in the ... back? ... while the henchmen with the leader, near the hostages aims directly at Crusader. The blasts do hurt -- but this time not enough, thanks to Kaelyn's wards, to splinter or melt parts of his body off. At least, not yet. It doesn't mean they still don't hurt like a #*$& though.
One gangster is tossed through a few portals, and ... Kaelyn, being one of the few that is not running for the hole in the wall to get out of the building and away from the danger and seems to be doing -something- now with her hammer, and with the magic going on? She's targeted next as attention is brought towards her. An energy weapon fires, and the majority of it does glance off her, wearing down her ward rapidly and effectively, but she'll feel the blow from it as a vicious hurt-like-hell sting.

Sarah Osborn has posed:
Only two people near the hostages, one of them the boss? Well then, it is time to do something about the boss. Namely, pisk up the thug guarding the costages, who is paying attention to the strange puddle-thing, and throw him at the boss. Sarah is fifty times as strong as a normal human athlete and has reflexes five times as fast, she might not look like much, but she is a lot more than she seems.

Crusader has posed:
Hitting Crusader Back or Front...or side is irrelevant in this case. He does not really have a true front of book...he just is. But that dosn't change the fact that he is being BURNED with some super heated weaponary! He wasn't away of Kaelyn wards, but he sure as hell was glad he wasn't being splinttered of melted right now. But how long untill he is hit enough to melt through

A voice seems to come from the wall to the hostages he was guarding "Everyone get out now. Go. And Take her with you!" an arrow image forms on the way pointing to Grace - the injured and the healthy needed to be evacuted.

And more and more painting where being stolen...but that didn't matter. If Sarah and Rachel combined effort don't out these guns, than he'll stay as long as has to to keep these innocent lives safe. Of course the wall was also bending and carrling the crowd to the hole.

Superwoman has posed:
There is a reason that Faora was once known as 'The Tigress'. And now it shows as she pounces on the man who's having trouble finding his rifle. She kicks at his knee, disarms him, and then smashes his jaw with the butt of his own rifle.

She rolls, a blur of motion as she finds cover behind a car. She begins to fire.

Superwoman neglects to use her own natural abilities- her super-breath, her heat beams. She's not in that frame of mind, now. Her rational mind has completely turned off, and what's in its place is the training, the genetic engineering, the full weight of Kryptonian soldiering. All of it enhanced with the abilities that require no thought to operate- she is a blur. An extremely accurate, well trained blur with a weapon she had no issue using. She fires dead-center mass and keeps moving.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Boy does she wish she didn't have to keep the wards up to protect everyone. Kae's not able to focus all her intent on just simply protecting her self... Instead the blast hits her ward, the blast diffused and rippling across Kae's personal wards, her bracelet glowing brightly as she's pushed back by the impact... She even grips a place that was singed by residual heat coming through the ward? She looks at the wound curiously and frowns before raisng her hand with the hammer in it.

She focusses on the fellow who just shot her briefly and then blinks as well another body goes flying? she frowns and motions the hammer now at the 'boss' unleashing a bolt of visible blue energy straight at him, this being a veritable small bomb of magically created kinetic force and air, before while still kneeling she touches her hands to the ground and mutters a spell, now trying to put a wall of magically enhanced stone between the thugs and the people trying to get out the door, at least trying to buy some more time for Crusader to do his job.

Sublime has posed:
Rachel's outraged look melts into a wolfish grin as she bolts towards the nearer henchman aiming at Crusader, not aware of the hit behind her, other than hearing a lot of crashing. She doesn't have time to look...because she's there, her right hand solidfies to maximum density and smashes straight into the throat of the thug who was unfortunate enough to hit Grace in an expert knuckle strike. Her other hand slaps the rifle up as she does, then phases it right out of his hand as she yanks

There's a brief, wet *SNAP* sound like a stick breaking as she's turning from the thug, letting the rifle drop int oher arms as she brings it up to bear toward the leader nearby...just in time to see the henchman go flying by to slam into him, spoiling the shot, followed by a blue energy bolt. Huh.

Without hesitation her eyes narrow as she glances at the crowd of thugs grabbing art off the wall (all nicely putting themselves out of the line of fire for the escaping people at the back) then pulls the trigger of the rifle she's holding as she sweeps the beam around, aiming for their legs.

    They'll live, right? Toootally nonlethal.

She phases again, as the nice thing about energy leaving the rifle is it's no longer touching her when it does and snaps right back into normal phase.

Grace Choi has posed:
Outside, between Superwoman's training, speed, and deadly, deadly force two more of Intergang go down. This was a fight they were -- or, had thought they were prepared for. Well. At least some of them were.
"Do it." The command comes from not the vans in the front of the building, ... but from those behind the building. The as-of-yet untouched trucks.
A lone motorcyclist suddenly spurns down the road, shooting through the stopped traffic and abandoned cars, dressed in all black. He stops, suddenly, tires squealing as, after rounding the corner, the bike skids to a stop, angled on it's side. The rider pulls a long weapon from his back - not too unlike a sniper rifle. And, a moment later he fires, even as Faora is dealing with the other fire-fight. A concentrated blast of energy hits Faora in the back of the head as she's moving to deal with more of the assailaints. And then others are joining in as she stumbles, the addtional firepower slamming into her with repeated efforts.

Inside, Crusader continues to act as an irritant to Intergang, preventing them from following through with their desires to keep everyone in check and have power through hostages, and the boss is cutdown, as his own henchmen is thrown into him, relieving Crusader of those annoying blasts, while one gang member is shot in the leg ... but thanks to Kaelyn's wards, doesn't lose any. It causes him to crumble to his knees, though, in pain, and he shoots at Rachel again in retaliation. And another gang member goes down, at Kaelyn's energy-zapping.
That's when one of the unmolested paining-grabbers tosses down another one of those sonic ball-grenades. Intergang? Came prepared with earbuds, to protect them. Probably nobody else did. Inside, the agony of the sonic might cause some severe pain, and trauma. Enough, perhaps, for them to start making a getaway with their paintings. Funny thing, though. They're headed out the back. Not the front.

Grace slowly begins to push herself up to her feet, groaning. Snarling, breathing in low, chopped, quick sucks of air, as she begins to gather her wits again. "Going. To. Kick. Their. #*$&." She swears, under her breath.

Sarah Osborn has posed:
While Sarah does not have any really superhuman senses, the senses she has are very keen, her body heals even nerve damage, she has more nerve endings than any normal person, which unfortunately means the sonic attack hurts her worse than normal. If is a good thing she heals fifty times as fast as normal, but even so she is knocked down by the blast and is unable to hear for some time and will be bleeding from the ears for a short time. She wishes she had her helmet, it can handle such things, but it is out on her motorcycle...

Superwoman has posed:
Pain is something Superwoman is used to. Far more than any other Kryptonian on this planet- she knows what it is to hurt. To fight for your life. Although she stumbles after being shot, she doesn't make it easy for the others to fight her- to take her down. She's prone in moments, firing the entire time she's on her way down.

All in all, though, its far more than she was expecting. WIthout being able to hear, the pain only pushes her onward- fighting through the pain as much as she can.

But these weapons are serious business, she likely won't be able to stay up much longer. The focus for Faora has become 'take as many of them with me as possible'. All of it a knee-jerk reaction where her martial training takes over. She was always a good soldier.

Crusader has posed:
If Crusader could he would face-palm if he had a face to palm "By Juthuum". The only good thing is - that beam is alot faster than taking people down one by one. At least she is only aiming for the legs! Still Crusader doubt everyone in intergang deserved to be crippled for life...oh wait, Kaelyne wards are stopping that from happening! Well that was relief
As was not getting shot at anymore. With the last of the hostages gone Crusader stops acting like a litteral wall and looks to Grace. He goes down onto one knee "One suggest you rest fi..." and than good lord that sonic blast. His entire form ripples as if his entire body was siezing up. He even makes the tell-tale gesture of grabbing his head. Talk about head-ache inducing and disorienting!

When the sonic subsides he shakes himself off. Moment like these he /wishes/ he could turn his senses off. He looks to Grace one last moment, "Just...let yourself heal. You should be safe here for now" considering the guarding thugs were gone. Alright he anazlyes things - it seems Rachael and...he squints at a blurred figure. That must be Kaelyn, she always seems blurry in his vision when she is using her magics. That or another mage. Still it ment the inside was taking care of...and the fight outside didn't sound too good

His choice is made

He heads outside where he can hear Superwomen fighting the other members of Intergang...and how she was going buck wild take em down style. But still he jumps in. With his a specific mode of attack - Lightning Bolts!

Crusader litterly begins hurling lightning Bolts at various Intergang members that were attacking Superwomen - these bolts should only knock them out if they hit and hopefully bring some of the pressure off of Superwomen!

Sublime has posed:
Rachel tchs as, for some reason, the bolt doesn't do as much damage as she was expecting...he's going to have to hobble away at least. And he's rude enough to shoot her...which passes right through, blowing apart a very advant guard picture of Booster Gold descending from the heavens, putting a hole neatly through the face as it catches fire.

She raises the rifle to return fire, then the sonic grenade goes off, causing her to gasp out as she goes to her knees next to the dead henchman, doubling over as she drops the rifle to cover her ears futilely. "AHHHHH!"

She growls a bit, then notices the Intergang guys are NOT doubled over in agony, and don't seem bothered...and quickly checks the guy on the floor, stealing his earbuds when she find them to put in her own ears, gasping out in relief as it blocks it out. With that solved, she then snags the rifle and moves towards the grenade quickly, before she stomps her bare foot down on it, and phases it right through the floor to plummet down into the basement, where there's hopefully enough insulation to block it out for everyone else affected.

"Whew..." She looks over, then sees Grace rising, distracted from thoughs of 'totally-not-really-murder-because-she's-shooting-them-in-the-leg' for the fleeing gang members and hurries to the Amazon's side instead, lowering the rifle by her side as she solidifes again, going full dense, then ducking under the other woman's arm to push, helping her up. "I gotcha...easy..." Her ice blue eyes flick toward the doors, a cold murder in her eyes as she watches the thugs flee...but that's for capes to deal with. There are enough of them, apparently.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
A blink and Kae ummms... "Yaah, in the future define the area of the ward better..." She muters to her self then she puts hands to her ears, her personal wards rippling as they protect her at least from serious personal damage... Still though it still hurts... Then the woman stomps the ball through the ground and Kae notes the guys going out back.

She grumbles and motions to the back now "They're trying to go out that way!" She calls out, probably she doesn't have to but well her ears are still ringing! As she makes her way toward the back of all places, she tugs a ring out of her pocket and puts it in Grace's hand... "Hang onto that, it'll fix your injury." She says softly and glances toward the back of a guy leaving as she tugs what looks to be a tiny circlet out of her pocket and tries to teleport it into the fellow's back pocket...

Next Kae tugs her phone out of her pocket? She waits a moment then with an evil-looing grin tries to set that ring off and make it put out an area Electro Magnetic pulse, wel a magically powered one. Magic's sometimes great at messing with electronics. Kae then pockets her phone again, her green eyes sparkling a bit as she looks to Rachel "All hell's going on out front, we may need to help."

Grace Choi has posed:
    Outside?
Outside, it might seem that Faora is turning the tide -- especially with Crusader helping. There were, afterall, only 6 guys out. One is pancaked. Two are probably dead, and very much broken. And while Faora is taking out another two in a very nasty, Kryptonian all-out war-soldier sort of way, Crusader's bolts take out the last original guy.
That leaves only motorcycle guy. He turns the power of the blaster up a notch, smoothly, efficiently. Aims at Faora, and fires again.
Only this time as he fires, he's gripping the bike with one hand now, and shouldering the weapon with the other, kicking the motorcycle into high gear.
"Remember. We do this? We get rewarded. Better stuff. Do it. And get out of there," comes the chatter over his headset.
This guy must be a professional hitman, because the sniper-like rifle is holstered without hesitation, and from the side of the bike something else is drawn. It looks almost shaped like a small cylinder -- not too unlike a child's kalediescope, maybe just a touch bigger. Metal. Curious.
The rider fires it. And, just behind Faora? A dark portal opens, swirling with light, even as a huge, cracking 'Boom' sound comes from it. The rider wheelies the bike up, straight into Faora who, and with the force of a motorcycle doing about 80 mph, she's going into that portal.
The rider goes into the portal as well, and the portal closes behind both of them leaving nothing but one half-alive body, and several dead ones, a crushed armored car, and another empty one.

Inside? Their weapons may be shorted out, but they're using the distractions of whatever is going on out through the back storage area, and out into the loading docks. Not quite as good of a haul as they wanted, and several members short. But -- they did get off with a few.

"We got what we came here for," calls Bruno. "Either get back to your assigned base, or don't come back at all. Intergang doesn't have a spot for failures," those still conscious hear, over their headsets.
Those near such headsets, and with good ears? They'll probably hear that last message two, before the transmitters go. Either because of Kaeyln's EMP, or because the man behind them shut it off so it couldn't be traced is unclear. Most likely the latter.

Superwoman has posed:
Faora barely manages to stand before she's struck by that bike, and the rider, forced into that portal- although her hands are on the man's shoulders as they portal closes behind them. One can only imagine that there is nothing but pain awaiting that particular gentleman on the other side of that booming portal of darkness-

Still, it leaves the world one Kryptonian down. Superwoman has been captured and kidnapped.

Sarah Osborn has posed:
Even though she heals fast, it will be several minutes before Sarah can hear anything. She does, however, manage to stagger to her feet and start to look around. She, unfortunately, is too late to see which way the bad guys went. Darn this operating without her gear...with her helmet she could replay the scenes recorded...and would have had some protection from the sonic attack too.

Crusader has posed:
And there goes Faora into a portal....wait a portal?!?! ".....crap" is all Crusader says. He now has no idea where Superwomen is, but on the flip side he now knows they have the ability to make portals. This can make things /alot/ harder. They could be all the way across the world potentially or just under their noses
But with everyone here more or less neutralized, this ment THE BACK was the only place to go at this point. He hears the message, he can't do anything about Faora right now except alert the league about it. But he heard the message over the comms and charge towards the loading docks
Without hesitation he sends a surge of chained lightning to the vehicles - enveloping all of them in electricity momentarily trying to go for a area wide knock out effect. Hopefully it will work...and if it dosn't well he tried!

Sublime has posed:
Rachel mmphs, glance towards the door as Kaelyn messes with her cellphone to apparently do...something zappy near the escaping guys. She snorts. "@#$& no..." she says to the redhead, with a little sniff. "Have fun with that!" she adds, mock cheerfully, in a smile that doesn't reach her eyes, pulling Grace with her towards one of the still intact outer walls away from the hubbub and sounds of fleeing vehicles, pausing to give a mocking little two fingered salute to her temple. "See ya, suckas..."

SAnd then she phases herself, Grace, her brand new shiny rifle and Grace's brand new shiny ring right through the wall. Time to go. Before the police show up and start asking those embarrassing questions like 'why his this man's neck broken like a twig?'.

    RUN AWAAAAAAY.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae frowns now, staring at Rachel as she does the dissapearing thing... "Oookay.." she says and the girl blinking as she triggers the EMP but still hears engines turn on "Too eary I think?" She mutters and starts making her way to the back as fast as she can now, running that way, warhammer in hand as she mutters a spell to her self self as a number of spheres begin to form around her self and swirl while she races toward the back doors.

"C'mon girl, make it.." She mutters, now using her free hand to grab anothre circle, hoping maybe to get it on one of the retreating vehicles... As she busts out the back door she blinks now seeing Crusader do his thing? She looks at the circlet and then back at the arc of electricity... "I didn't know he could do that." she mutters to hers self, and then grips her hammer tightly as she waits to start flinging those litlte orbs now circling her at human targets, just in case...

Grace Choi has posed:
Crusader's bolts bring the modernized, if not heavily armored, vans to a standstill. But, there's no further communication from the outside world - the Intergang members are left to their own devices with only - as was with Gotham - knowledge of the reclusive 'Bruno' as the head boss, and that they were promised more weapons, better weapons, and to be on top of the world, soon enough with the power given to them by a higer power ... but even telepathy couldn't pull much more than that from them. Bruno had kept things close to his chest, even to the cell leaders.

Grace is tugged along with Rachel, too much in pain, and too ornery to argue with Rachel, somewhere in her mind telling herself they were even, now. She'll argue later, back at Rachel's place, or hers. For now, all she can do is grunt. But she'll heal up soon enough of her own accord - Kaelyn's little 'ring' saved for later. Probably for Rachel, Grace being as stubborn as she is.

Sirens are coming, fast, and furious. Metropolis PD's time is rather remarkable, but they were prepared. They'd just expected another hit. Not this one. There will be arrests. Confinscations. Questions. And, several dead bodies -- thankfully all belonging to Intergang found. As well as all of Kaelyn's little sphere-traps, which will no doubt baffle and befuddle the police. Hopefully they won't set one off by accident.

... on the otherside of that portal, Faora lands onto a golden lain floor, that leads to a staircase, that leads to a throne. In front of her, a short, squat woman stands, looking grey and old, almost withered. She smiles, her lips spreading wide as her hands, "Welcome," she greets, "To Apokolips, Superwoman. Lord Darkseid desires an audience with you ..."
The dead man, the man Superwoman killed on the way through that portal is ignored. Unimportant. All eyes of Darkseid's court instead, focus on Faora ... and, the conversation they'll soon have ...
