Isotope has posed:
The bustling New York Street was closed off, early evening people had started to arrive, gathering together around the memorial that had been placed around the three destroyed Sentinels. Two people were the closest, an auburn haired woman and a teenager, both dressed in black, the teen had on a bolo tie, silver and black, and a black western hat, around it, was what looked like a gray bandanna and the x logo that was on Dan's shirt from the attack.

People passed out candles and cups and of course, neighbor shared flame with neighbor until there was an ocean of flickering flames in the night.

Brian had organized a trip out to the memorial, and the young mutant had brought his guitar with him, Shannon's suggestion for a memorial song of course. The student made sure that his containment suit was on and shown, a defiance to everyone who was trying to suppress mutanthood. His raven hair and his face were visible in the suit, but nearly every other piece of skin was covered head to toe, with accents of green glow in a circuit pattern on his chest. He cradled the white candle in his hands, and hadn't said much since the group from the school arrived. "There's...more people I would have thought here." He mentioned to the group, not to anyone in particular. He'd managed to get a spot relativly close to the cubes for the group of mutants.

Bastion has posed:
There's an odd sensation, for many mutants, located on the east side of the gathering.

Those in the area that attempt to use their powers find them unavailable. There's a little bit of talk about it among the crowd, quietly, but not disrespectfully: mutants that can shut off powers aren't unheard of. Nobody is pointing fingers. There's both negative and positive reactions to such a mutant: there are some that will crowd over there on purpose due to hating their mutant abilities, and others that avoid it. Whether the containment suit is immune to that particular suppression effect is, as yet, untested.

On the edge of the nullification zone, those with magnetism or similar abilities can recognize that there's at least one human-sized robot or android over there, as well. However, visually, it's just a mix of people. And robots aren't automatically bad things.

Still, a robot and a nullification area might make a few people a little nervous.

And if they are members of a team that knows what Sebastion looks like, he isn't hidden. The muscular, tall man is there, quietly observational, in the mix of onlookers.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde arrives at the memorial, having come from elsewhere than the school so arriving alone. She's wearing normal clothing but wore her uniform beneath knowing such gatherings can sometimes be sites for trouble to break out.

She makes her way over to get herself a candle, and then begins quietly looking around the area, mostly for anyone she knows, though also just keeping an eye on things.

Being on the west side of the gathering to start with, Kitty doesn't seem to notice or at least recognize Sebastion, there being too many people in the way. Eventually though she does spot familiar faces who are nearer to her, though still some distance away. Kitty begins slowly picking her way through the crowd. Taking her time to avoid jostling anyone, she shares appropriate looks and occasional nods with others who meet her eyes. Kitty is suitably somber tonight as she gently picks her way through the crowd.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna had arrived with the group from the school, dressed in a simple black dress and pair of flats, her hair was carefully braided back at the base of her neck. She helped light the candle of whoever came about her way, bending to transfer the candle's flame to a little girl's as she murmured soft compliments to the young mutant girl's obvious mutation. The Princess of Genosha smiled, and rose, moving onto the next person that came up to meet her and greet her. She wasn't disguised in anyway, and why should she be? This was a place where mutants had died, and Sentinels had been destroyed. Though it didn't mean she was completely relaxed either. Lorna had to be careful when traveling with anyone from the school in public, where she could be seen and put into connection with those from the school.

Still, her senses were spread wide over the area, enough that she caught the prickling of her senses that was so very familiar, and not in a good way. Her features paled, and with a murmured word of pardon, she made to separate from the gathering, until she spotted Kitty and changed course for her friend. "Kitty," She waved, keeping her voice low and trying not to be disruptive to the memorial at large.

Nightingale has posed:
Nearby Brian, a tow-headed, winged teen stands, making no bones about the fact of what she is. She is unarmed, and only has her worn, brown leather bag with her, tied at her waist. Those who knew her, have a fair idea of what it is. Those who don't, hopefully never have to find out. She's dressed in her favorite jeans, sneakers, and cream cotten poet's blouse, her hair left long and loose. Her expression is a sober one, not a smile in sight or a twinkle in her eye--just the glistening of tears un-shed, as she looks at the memorial. She glances over at Brian and nods in greeting, but says nothing for the moment. This was not the time for words.

Siryn has posed:
Theresa Cassidy had heard of what happened. How could she not? Even if she didn't watch the news she would have heard from almost any and everyone in the school. It was something being talked of. So she had heard, and had shown up along with several others from the school. In deference to the occasion she wore a modest black dress. Holding an already lit candle and cup in hand she looks over the cubes of Once-Sentinels and the building crowd with a nod of apparent satisfaction.

"Of course there's a good turnout," she responds to the nearby suited figure with a sad smile. "Everyone needs a hero to gather around at times. This time, it's him." If he'd died protecting others... How could people not show?

Quietly Theresa murmurs to Brian, "If you need someone to sing along with your guitar there, I know I'm no Dazzler, but I'd be honored to help."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
For as much as the Avengers have been working hard to bring an end to the Sentinel Crisis, it's important to be seen acknowledging the real, human cost of it all. Captain Marvel may not be the most eloquent nor personable of her fellows, but she scores full marks when it comes to visibility.

Her vigil is not held on the ground, but twenty feet above it. She floats there as though gravity does not apply, her blonde hair and the red sash about her waist fluttering in the breeze. There's a slight glow about her, residual energy captured within her and slowly emanating off into the night.

Despite being here to pay respect, she knows better than to think that is the beginning and end of her role. Down below she watches the gathered crowd intently, decade-old training in security flooding back as she watches for any subtle or not-so-subtle threats. When her eyes alight upon Sebastion she frowns, gloved hands curling into fists at her sides. She does nothing, but her eyes remain fixed on the Sentinel rather than the vigil itself.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy wears a suit similar to the one he was wearing when the young man was killed. He shows up, quietly, observing. In respect, and in case something goes wrong. Well, he shows up as quietly as a man as distinctive as he is, can be. So inevitably he's shaking hands, acknowledging people.

Zorro has posed:
Hector Rodriguez let out a sigh as he walked into the memorial site. His agent, Gaspar warned him not to show up, fearful of another Setinel attack and of Hector being caught in the middle of a superhero fight. Hector however, wanted to pay his respects to a innocent man who was brutally murdered by a cold, souless machine built by tyrants. Gaspar also warned him about a smear to his otherwise flawless reputation if he were to be seen associating with mutants. Hector his agent he didn't care about what bigotd thought of him and that he would'nt care if he lost out on what revenue they gave him

Hector and his alter-ego, Zorro, had always been supporters of mutant rights and would protect mutants from hate-groups whenever possible. Now, he was here mourning with hundreds of others about the loss of an iunnocent life. As Hector took a candle he though to hismefl," Rest well amigo. I swear Zorro will find those who murdered you and bring them to justice."

Isotope has posed:
Brian had given Theresa a nod in response, and quietly whispered back. "You'll know when to join in..." He offered with a solemn smile. Luckily, the suit itself served to supress his powers, so as long as the circuitry was still working, Brian had no idea that his powers had been supressed at all.

The teen in black took out a piece of paper and lifted himself up on the center cube, and removed his hat, his hair was a gently styled blonde, much like Dan's was. "H-hi y'all, um...they asked me to say some words on behalf of the family."

The blonde teen looked a little nervous, a little sad, deservedly so. His voice was still a little high, couldn't be more than fifteen, and his accent was definitely southern, with a twang that likely put him from Texas. "Thanks for comin' out, we do appreciate the messages of support y'all have given us. Daniel...Dan, was my big brother. He was studying at E.S.U. to be a genetics researcher. I..heh, never really understood what he was sayin' with all the science terms. He wasn't a jock, or really anything, he was that guy everyone just liked, y'know?"

The blonde boy gives a sniffle and touches his eye with the hankie that was in his pocket. "I saw what happened...the video, and after the shock, I saw nothing but Dan in what he did. Hell, he'd give ya the shirt off his back if you were cold or had nothin' else." He pauses a moment and finished up his remarks. "He deserved better, we all deserve better. All this hate, for no reason at all, doesn't make any sense. And what does it leave? Broken families, empty homes, now mom's all I got! I'm a mutant too, and I get scared just thinkin' if one day these things are gonna come for me too." He was now in weeping mode. "How many more bodies before people start to get the point? Anyways, thank ya again for showing out, Dan's smilin' down at us tonight..." Quickly, he puts the hat back on his head and lowers from the cubes. Reflecting back, he retrieves his candle and goes back to looking at all the people, a dab or two from that hanky, of course.

It was then that Brian had offered Shannon his candle, swinging back the guitar gently and he started strumming a slow tune.
"Daniel is traveling tonight on a plane
I can see the red tail lights, heading for Spain
Oh and, I can see Daniel waving goodbye..."

Bastion has posed:
Sebastion is not doing anything inherently dangerous. He's just ... looking at people.

There is a steady, direct look, at each person, prioritizing those with obvious mutations such as wings, glowing bodies, scales, or so forth. They attract more attention, it's natural.

It doesn't look like scanning, what he's doing. He looks more like a human detective in plainclothes that might visit a funeral to take in who attended. Considering his military stance to his body and stature type, that would be an automatic assumption that would make sense.

The Sentinel IS scanning, though, subtly and non-aggressively.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon holds Brian's candle, and joins her voice in with his. Her voice is a silky alto, and she takes up a harmony to Brian's melody.

"They say Spain is pretty, though I've never been
Well Daniel says it's the best place that he's ever seen
Oh and he should know, he's been there enough
Lord I miss Daniel, oh I miss him so much..."

Here, the tears do begin to flow, and her eyes have a haunted look to them, one that is likely to appear at unguarded moments for some time to come. Her wings droop behind her, as if somehow, they too could weep.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde spots Captain Marvel flying overhead, the woman standing out quite noticeably. She pulls out her phone, pausing in making her way through the crowd to send a quick text to Carol's phone: I'm in the crowd below you, your 3 o'clock, tan jacket. - Kitty

Assuming Carol looks down, Kitty will give her an up nod though avoid any big waves or anything. That done, she continues, spotting Lorna moving her way to meet her. Kitty moves over to join the Genoshan royal. "Hey Lorna," she says in a somber tone, kept very soft as the singing starts up. Kitty lets out a soft sigh. "Always liked this song," she shares with Lorna in a quiet whisper. If Lorna is willing to move back over to join the rest of the group from the school, Kitty will continue on that way through the crowd.

She still hasn't noticed Sebastion, other events taking her focus.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna finally made it to Kitty's side, her expression pinched as she glanced about them repeatedly. She leaned in to her friend's closest ear. "Kitty, it's Sebastian. I sense him. Or something like him. It's nearby, but there's a field up blocking me from picking out exactly where he is." She nodded in the direction she sensed his general presence. "I need you to go quietly inform the others, get them ready. I'm going to see if I can't get eyes on the guy. We don't want to cause a panic. Not with this many people here." She kept her voice soft, low and hopefully gentle enough not to stir alarm of catch anyone else's attention.

At least this was a memorial, she could look grim.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"Daniel, my brother," Carol half-mumbles, half-hums to herself as she floats there above the gathering, "Hmm, hmm - than me. Hmm hmm hmm."

But even as she tries to focus her attention on the proceedings - tries to not look like some hovering malevolence just waiting for all hell to bust loose - she can't help but turn her attention back to the Sentinel.

"What're you looking for?" she mutters to herself, eyes still fixed on Sebastion, "Why are you -" *BZZ* *BZZ*

The wonder of wearing a suit you control every molecule of is that it absolutely /does/ have pockets whenever you need it. Carol reaches into one to produce her phone, looking at the message and then past the screen into the crowd below. She descends swiftly from above, landing with a light couple of footfalls alongside Kitty.

"Sebastion's here," she says to the phasing mutant, quietly and out of the corner of her mouth.

Siryn has posed:
Theresa Cassidy bites her lower lip when the eulogy ends and the song begins. That song, along with knowing it was Brian's older brother, earns more than a few tugs on her often soft heartstrings. It's not long at all before she's hiccuping with quiet tears and forced to swipe at her eyes repeatedly with the back of her knuckles. It's a good thing she hadn't worn much in the way of makeup. Her gaze sweeps around seeking something, anything, to focus on besides the center of the memorial for now. Something to allow her a moment to gather herself so she isn't looking such a mess. An unfamiliar, or rather familiar but unexpected, face is spotted causing her tears to slow if only due to curiosity. Stepping through the crowd she makes her way toward Hector Rodgrigez.

He's offered a watery smile as she nods toward him, and offers out a candle. "Did you know him?" She asks, curiously. "You're Hector Rodriguez, aren't you? The Broadway star?" How curious he should be here.

Nightingale has posed:
While the mention of Hector's name does catch Shannon's attention briefly, she only turns her head briefly in that direction and offers a nod of greeting. Hopefully there would be a moment later on to greet him properly, but not now. She turns her attention back to the memorial and continues the song. Here, her voice does begin to waver slightly, but she takes a deep breath and pushes on, though the tears flow freely now.

"Oh oh, Daniel my brother you are older than me
Do you still feel the pain of the scars that won't heal?
Your eyes have died, but you see more than I
Daniel you're a star in the face of the sky...."

Zorro has posed:
Hector nodded solemly as the mutant made his speech. Upon hearing what his brother was like before his untimley demise, his anger started to grow, but he tried his hardest to keep it down. As the song began he felt tempted to start singing along, the inner virtuoso burning within him, but he managed to keep it down.

He then noticed a familair sight, Henry McCcoy. He let out a swear to himself, remembering the prevous encounter they had when he was Zorro. Not wanting him to recognize him if he came over to his area, he hastily places a band-aid over his cheek, covering his distinctive scar, which McCoy no doubt saw when he was Zorro.

He was grabbing his candle when he heard Thresa greet him with a candle. Hecor takes it, his first candle having burnt out. He then says to her," Yes, i am Hector Rodriguez. I showed up to pay my respects to the young man who was killed."

Isotope has posed:
Slowly, more and more fo the crowd joins in singing. It wasn't a tune to belt out. The pace was slower, and somber. Brian kept strumming the tune and singing with everyone.

By this time, Dan's mother and brother were looking out and swaying with the tune. Even the young man was singing along with it.

"Oh, Daniel my brother you are older than me
Do you still feel the pain of the scars that won't heal
Your eyes have died...but you see more than I...."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde receives the double-dose of Sebastion sightings. "Oh bugger," she comments to Carol and Lorna very quietly, a bit of British colloquium from her time there slipping back out. "He has a mutant damping field. And no doubt more advanced than what we've been able to counter," she whispers to them.

Kitty finally lets her eyes look over in the direction Lorna indicated without moving her head too much. As she is scanning the crowd for him, she tells Carol and Lorna, "Best if we just let the memorial play out and disperse, I'd think. Just too many people who could get hurt. Carol, have you notified your team?" she asks, her eyes still searching for the human-looking cyborg.

Triage has posed:
Better late than never, Triage strolls along the wide open spaces of Central Park, resting his bo stick on one shoulder and with his customary sunglasses perching on his forehead. He slows when he approaches the solemn crowd and accepts a candle from someone who is offering them to those in need. He joins in the growing choral rendition. While he croons, "Daniel by brother ..." in a soulful voice, his dark eyes scan the crowd, nodding to any whom he recognizes or who might recognize him.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy finally gets done greeting folks, as the singing distracts people from wanting to shake his hand. First world problems. So he mills over toward Kitty, as an unhappy Kitty is cause for concern. "Hey waht's going on?" he starts as he over hears a bit. "Oh. I see."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna blinked in surprise as Captain freakin' Marvel dropped from above to land beside her and Kitty. She blinked as the blonde stated the very thing that she'd just said, and her green eyed gaze swung from Kitty to Carol in a rapid movement. "You got eyes on him? I'm going to be useless against him if he wants to shut me down, he will. Also touching him shuts down mutant powers. We need to alert the others quietly and not start a panic.. But we should be prepared.." She murmured.

Then there was Henry McCoy joining the gaggle and she nodded.

"Want to help spread word to the others? Maybe get the students out of here? Quietly?"

Bastion has posed:
Sebastion is in a crowd of people, with candles. There's a lot of cover for him, in innocent bystanders. One of those near him, a tall brunette, comes back towards him but doesn't speak to him, just roves over near him and looks around, and then upwards. She starts to move out of the crowd, south along the street, away from the vigil, as if searching off that way.

Sebastion stops staring into the crowd, and looks more at the singers now, or the cubes: same direction, really.

Swamp Thing has posed:
Attached as he was to the Green, more and more events of the world had started to attract his interest. Seeing as he was spending more and more time up in the tundra these days, it was no trouble at all for him to enter the web of eyes and information provided to him, and observe events as they occur. An old woman mugged and begging for her life underneath a balcony of potted fern, a young couple in love, embracing near the young trees of central park. And nearby, people stood in a group. Speaking words and singing for someone who fell, a young man who's returned to the earth.

Did he remember funerals, and the feeling of lonely panic and despair? Swamp Thing never had a grandfather whose death broke his heart...but he remembered one distantly all the same. He wasn't aware of when he created a body here, the earth and green fibers of Bryant Park all twisting into a form that could be mistaken for a man. He was stood more in the distance, a shape mostly hidden or rather obscured by dark shadow. Save for the red of his unnatural eyes, and the flexing toes of his green 'feet', it would be difficult for someone not paying attention to get a good look at him. But there were quite a few people paying attention in this crowd, weren't there?

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"Over there," Carol tells Kitty, pointing through the crowd in the direction she last spotted the Sentinel, "I'll take overwatch. Whatever dampening field he's got going, it doesn't effect me."

She offers a tight smile to both Lorna and Doctor McCoy as they approach. When Lorna speaks, the blonde nods her head and surreptitiously points a finger in the direction of Bastion.

"As much as I want to scrap him for what he did," Captain Marvel murmurs quietly to the mutants, "He's an unknown quantity here. As far as I know, he doesn't have any history of violence against mutants. He's an artificial intelligence. Maybe he's just ... curious? I don't know. I don't want to give him an excuse to set phasers to kill. I'll keep an eye on him from above. Just sing out if you think there's trouble."

She lifts two fingers to her forehead in a casual salute to the group before once again she shoots skywards, returning to her place of vigil and once more locking eyes on the wildcard sentinel.

Siryn has posed:
Theresa Cassidy offers Hector another soft smile at his explaination. "Thank you for that. I'm sure the family appreciates all the support that's being shown." As if to explain the scope of her statement she lets her eyes sweep over the crowd that had gathered before glancing back toward him. Or at least she starts to look back -- The apparent rustling of unease among those from the school wasn't that hard to miss.

For now though she tries to act as if she hadn't noticed even if she was a bit more on-guard now, unaware herself as to what had caused such unease. "It really is good to see so many people come together. If only it weren't for such a tragic reason."

Zorro has posed:
Hector smiles and nods at Theresa once she thanks him for showing up. Upon hearing her bring up the touching crowd and how it is a shame they were gathered for such a tragedy, Hector paused, as if in deep thought. He then said to her," Yes, it is good to see all of these people gathered to pay respects to a innocent man. I sometimes think the best of us comes out when tragedy strikes in order to help each other and make improvements for the future. I only wished that would come out more often."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde turns to Hank as he comes over to join the small trio. She nods towards him and quietly whispers confirmation of Sebastion's presence in case he hadn't heard. When Carol helps guide Kitty's eyes, she finally spots him. Or at least what she thinks it is him. It is dark out and he's a distance away, with candle light casting shadows on faces.

Kitty turns back to Lorna and Carol. "Not openly hostile at least of late. But he doesn't have our best interests at heart. I know he's been curious and trying to learn. But he also thinks he needs to protect the world from mutants," she whispers. "If he's here, I guess it could be trying to learn. Or he could be scanning lots of mutants at once."

She nods to Captain Marvel and says, "If you can keep an eye. Best we avoid using electronics as much as possible," she says. "Though should get word to Tony." Kitty frowns for a moment and then pulls out her phone. It's probably amongst the best encrypted phones in the world - fully designed and built herself - yet she hesitates before finally deciding on a message to send. What she ends up sending off to Tony is: "Thanks for the Mets tickets. Old acquaintance here at memorial rally. The one that my assisting with led you to hire me." Hopefully that doesn't stand out, should it be intercepted.

Isotope has posed:
The song had finished, the solemn silence once again returned to the vigil. Brian had started to move the guitar back to resting against his back. He hadn't paid much attention to the goings on around the group while he was singing, but his green eyes looked back and fourth from Shannon to Lorna and the departing Captain Marvel. "What's going on?" He comments, not scared, but definitely concerned.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy nods to Lorna and Kitty. "I'll start rounding up our kids" he murmurs, before he departs to start finding any of their students in the crowd. One by one, leaning over to murmur in an ear "Let's get back to the bus. Storm coming. Want to avoid dangerous roads too late." he'll explain with a gentle tap on the shoulder.

Bastion has posed:
Someone suddenly flying upwards draws Sebastion's eye, and he looks directly at Captain Marvel. Since she's staring at him, they'll stare at each other, now.

There isn't much reaction at first, then there's a brief smile. And he actually lifts a hand, to wave to her. It isn't mocking, it isn't too slow to be sarcastic: it's just a wave. It's an 'I see you, friend' that you might wave at some acquaintance, as a straight stare without something like that would normally be somewhat rude.

Nightingale has posed:
...a tragic reason that never should have had to happen. Shannon's voice trails off, the last note lingering in the air. She's not completely unaware of the unease among her friends, and glances about quickly. Her eyes meet Sebastion's, and she frowns slightly. Something was definitely not right about this one. It would do to be cautious. She sighed lightly, hoping and praying that she wouldn't be needed.

A quick scan of the skies above would let her see that... holy crow, was that Captain Marvel up there?! She frowns slightly, ducking her head as if to let the tears fall unseen. The tap on her shoulder from Hank got her attention and she turns to look at him, shaking her head slightly. "If there's a storm, they might need help with the clean-up."

Triage has posed:
Triage continues to sing with his quarterstaff clasped between his hands, its tip resting on the ground, until the end of the song. Occasional restless moment in the crowd, however, catches his eyes and he watches. When he spots Hank moving through the crowd, occasionally stopping and talking to younger people, Triage frowns. He watches the teacher for a moment. His brows furrow under his reflective shades. He looks ahead of McCoy, spotting other young people, he moves in a casual pace toward them. If an opportunity comes, he will wave discretely to the teacher and mouth, "Trouble?"

Swamp Thing has posed:
There is a commotion in the crowd, as Mutants and their enemies feel a great tension in potential conflict with one another. From his distant vantage point, the green man feels no such anger or resentment, or fear. He understands only that the person named 'Brian' has a look upon his face that Alec once recognized.

...No. Not Alec. Sometimes it is still easy to forget that.

And so, the figure of grass and dirt and pine made his way from the shadows, walking slowly with wet footfalls until he found his way toward those in mourning. Across his torso, shoulders and arms, roses and lilies were starting to grow rapidly, blooming as the petals fell off of some, and flew around. When he finally approached Brian, Swamp Thing looked down at the man with red eyes and yellow pupils. Were those eyes olives?

There were no words. But from his breast the thing plucked a freshly grown rose, fragrant in the air, and offered it forward.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Captain Marvel smiles at Sebastion as he waves, though it is a smile largely devoid of warmth. As though she is pasting it on for anyone else who might happen to be looking. She raises a hand, not waving it nor wiggling fingers. She just holds it there in an unmoving wave of acknowledgement. She's never been great at masking bad feelings, but to the casual observer she's doing nothing more than smiling and waving.

"What do you want, Tin Man?" she mutters through gritted teeth, lips not moving as she keeps that smile plastered to her face. But it quickly fades, her hand falling limply to her side as she stares away into the distance. Her eyes narrow, and once more her phone slips from her pocket.

Carol has no such misgivings about information security, bringing up Kitty and firing off another message to her: '4 more. South. Few miles out.'

"Ah, hell," she curses to herself, moving from her floating position to speed overhead. Once more she lands, dropping to the ground alongside Sebastion. Some of the mutants gathered around her turn to watch her, some subdued in their excitement at having her amongst them, others irritated by her presence, some just curious about the woman who dropped out of the sky. She lifts a hand and offers a tight smile in greeting as she shoulders her way through the crowd so she can speak to him without having to raise her voice.

"Those other four aren't yours, are they?"

Isotope has posed:
Brian's look of concern faded as the tall plant-man approached him and eventually offered the rose to him. He accepted and smiled gently, taking in the delicate fragrance of the rose. "Thanks, big guy." He says, walking over to the center cube andplacing it down on the crushed metal.

When the mention of a storm is brought up, and he goes on the defensive. "Not here, not now." He comments gently, he doesn't stand opposed to Beast's plan, but it isnt a good thing in general.

Siryn has posed:
Theresa Cassidy dips her head with a hint of a smile at the sentiment offered. "That's one way to put it. Maybe we all just need a reminder now and then that we can be better than what we have been being." Lifting her head again she offers Hector a nod. "I'm Theresa Cassidy. It was good to meet you, Hector. Thank you again for coming... If you'll excuse me though I think I need to check on some of my students." It seemed to be what some of the others were doing at least. With that, and a parting nod, she moves back into the crowd headed for those who might need some help being ushered out.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde checks her phone as she gets a pair of messages. Those who are with her might note her grim expression that results. She glances around the area, at the crowd of mutants, and then looks to Lorna and motions with her head towards the group from the school that Hank has gone to gather.

Kitty will make her way over there, giving Brian a soft smile and saying very quietly, "That was really nice, Brian. Though we might want to encourage the memorial to wrap up." She picks her words carefully to avoid anyone who might overhear it causing a panic. "Two miles south," she says, making sure Lorna, Hank and Theresa catch her words. "There's a quartet."

Bastion has posed:
Sebastion watches Carol wave at him, work with her phone, and drop down toward him, without looking away from her. His behavior is entirely consistent with being friendly, expecting her to approach. She doesn't let him down.

The greeting isn't as polite as it could be, but Sebastion is kind about it. "Captain Marvel, I believe? We finally meet," Sebastion says, evenly. He then studies her, as if deciding about her question, and looks away towards the south.

"They are now," Sebastion says, with a bit of emphasis on it being very recent. As of maybe the last minute. His gaze moves back to Captain Marvel. "What would you like them to do? I was going to send them away; their orders were to come here to salvage. I don't think that would have been ...beneficial."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon glances over to the tall plant-man who is now right next to her and Brian, and offers a nod of greeting. "Thank you." She'd seen some unusual things before, but this ranked pretty high up the list. Still, with the flowers, and the seeming gentle nature of the being, she does not pull away. However, when she hears Kitty, a soft oath escapes her. "You've got to be kidding me. Here and now?" Her expression is equally grim, and she glances towards the memorial. "Not leaving that easily."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna ground her teeth, her paranoia on edge to say the least as Sebastian stood there and the students remained at the vigil. She wanted to get them out of there, and it warred with her desire to not cause a scene. Of course, that's when Kitty's phone buzzed again and Lorna paused in chatting with another student and nodding them to the bus. "What? We'll be sitting ducks here, it'll be a slaughter if he keeps that null field up Kitty." She hissed under her breath, panic lancing through her chest.

"Shannon, get the kids and get them out of here. Now. We need to go meet these things before they get here." She kept her voice low, though she couldn't completely hide the way her expression twisted with her fear, the way her skin had paled with it.

Swamp Thing has posed:
The creature nodded at Brian's words, and soon, turning to regard the crowd for the first time, the being intentionally loosens the wildbloom growing across his body. Petals were now flying in the breeze, all through the night sky. He looked at everyone's faces, seeing something like his own, something he used to recognize.

    Did he?

Zorro has posed:
Zorro nods at Thresa's words, his smile not changing. Upon hearing her introduction and farwell, Hector smiles again and says to her," It was a pleasure to meet you to Senorita Cassidy." Once she left, he went back to watching the memorial, his smile turning to one of concern once he saw Swamp Thing.

Isotope has posed:
Brian gets distracted with Swamp Thing's beautiful display of nature. Dan's family also seems moved by the display. The blonde teen aproached the tall tree-man and nodded his head. "Thanks, name's Max." His mother also joined in with a smile below her red teary eyes.

Once Brian comes to, he gives a nod to Kitty. "Not sure how we can disperse the crowd without inciting a panic..." He whispers to Kitty and Shannon. "Whatever it is, we need to do it soon or else this is ending up all over the eleven o'clock..."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"I want them to stay away, Sebastion," Carol answers, her tone even as she does her level best to keep any sort of frustration or aggression out of it, "These people came here to mourn. They're afraid. Even without firing a shot, they'd cause enough panic that people could get hurt. Hurt themselves or hurt each other. I don't think you want to hurt these people. Or see them hurt."

She does her best to keep her voice low, to not draw the attention of anyone who just so happens to be nearby in the gathering. The distant sentinels don't need to come anywhere near the vigil to cause a panic - the mere idea of it would be enough.

As much as her attention is fixed upon Sebastion, Carol keeps turning her head to glance over her shoulder. There's a lot of people here. Even if some of them are starting to be shepherded back towards the bus, there remains a crush of people. A few smartphones are surreptitiously raised to get some footage of Captain Marvel.

"I'm gonna be honest with you," she says, turning back to Sebastion, "I wish we were meeting under less tense circumstances."

Nightingale has posed:
While reluctant to leave, everything in her screaming to stay and help, there were too many innocents to take that risk. It was another hard lesson for Shannon to learn, that sometimes the best help was to get those who might perhaps be the most vulnerable out of harm's way. Perhaps Lorna was right, as was Kitty. She keeps her voice low, while addressing Kitty, Brian, and Lorna. "Right. I'll try to get some of the others out of here back to the bus, you guys worry about everyone else." With that, she moves among the crowd, rounding up those she recognized and beginning to move them out of the way.

Bastion has posed:
"Then we agree," Sebastion answers, hands set into the pockets of his windbreaker. "I came to stop them. I'll move them away. There aren't any others in the area for now. You should have some time, but you'll want to move that salvage out of here. I can take it later, after the vigil, if it's still here." He looks around the gathering with a sort of odd expression of discomfort, but then steps aside and away from Carol.

"Things are going to be hard enough to repair as they are, without more of the same," Sebastion says with a frown, starting to move south: presumably to go deal with Sentinels.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde seemed touch by the flowers from Swamp Thing. She also pauses a moment, thinking she recognizes someone famous in the crowd. Is that Hector... what's his last name?

Well, she can't afford to let such things occupy her attention for long. She looks around the memorial as Brian mentions the difficulty of getting the crowd to disperse. "Wish Storm were here, or even Iceman," she says, "A cold enough wind maybe, but... hmm. What else would work," she murmurs to herself. "Could try to get people to turn into a memorial walk, but that would still keep everyone together," she murmurs quietly to the others.

Triage has posed:
Once he overhears someone urging young people to leave the scene, Triage begins to circulate through the crowd, stopping to speak quietly to school-aged onlookers. "If you came here with a group, go to your meeting place and wait for the others." When he finds someone who appears to have come alone, he tries to urge that person to leave as well. "It's late and this thing is near its end," he reminds kids.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna pursed her lips, her fingers twitching as she felt the edges of panic creep into the edges of her mind. "I don't want to cause a panic. But we're going to have issues if we can't figure this out. People will die." She whispered, her voice hushed as she craned her powers out as far and as wide as she could cast them, picking up the feeling of the Sentinels as they approached.

"I'm going to try something, I don't know if it'll do anything.. But I can't sit here and wait for these things to hit us. And I don't know how far Sebastian's null field goes." She continued, biting her lower lip, her knees bent and she took off into the air. Unarmored, and flew toward the direction she'd felt the Sentinels approaching.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
'He's leaving,' Carol is once again tapping a message to Kitty into her phone with one hand, 'Taking 4 friends with him.'

Even as she types, Captain Marvel walks after Sebastion. She tries to keep pace with him at the same time she sends her message and makes sure she's not barreling through any of the gathered mourners. When the message is sent away, the phone once more returns to that concealed pocket in her suit.

"I figure you've probably been asked this before," she tells the advanced sentinel, covering the last few steps to fall into stride with him, "But is there a way we can contact you? Situations like this are only going to cause misunderstandings. There has to be a better way to handle things."

Her lips purse and she lifts a hand, brushing a few errant strands of blonde hair from her forehead and looking around at the gathering.

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
Kaydin arrives with the others. He moves with superhuman speed. To him, everything is moving at a snail's pace and he can interact with the rest of the world however he wants. He looks around at the people and seems clueless as to what to do.

Isotope has posed:
Brian had reached out to some of the younger students that wished to attend the ceremony, and helps them towards the bus.

It was then that Max, Dan's younger brother had approached Kitty. "Uhh, 'scuse me ma'am. Ah didn't mean ta drop eaves, but did'ja say icy breeze?" Max's arms started to emit vapor, white vapor as he started to chill down, small ice crystals formed on his arms and hands. "Dan an' I...we had the same thing."

Bastion has posed:
Sebastion looks back at Carol, well aware she's texting on her phone. If he knows what she's writing, he doesn't suggest either way about it. He's patient to let her text before he answers. "Yes. You can call me," he says, with a gesture towards where her phone went. "I'm not a heathen," he chuckles, amiably. "No need to write it in sentinel dismembered parts." His eyes move back to those cubes, but then he continues to go south, walking. He doesn't do anything dangerous, by all appearances.

Sebastion does look up as Lorna passes overhead, with a brief frown. "Will you excuse me? I suspect I need to hurry, to keep this peaceful," says Sebastion, his tone less friendly, more chilly, as if annoyed he was going to need to deal with a new problem.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde receives the text from Captain Marvel. She looks up towards Dan's younger brother as he makes the offer and shows her his mutant power. "That's a wonderful power to have. I have a good friend who can do something like that too," she tells him with a soft smile. "Actually, I think things will be ok," she says, turning towards her friends and teammates as she says that to let them know there is new information.

Even as Kitty is talking, she's tapping out a text message to Lorna: He is leaving and taking his four friends. Think it will be ok.

Once the message is sent, hopefully before Lorna does anything too drastic, she looks back then, spotting Carol and Sebastion and watching what they do.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon heads back into the crowd to round up more of those she knew and get them out of harm's way. On her way, she sees Kaydin, and offers him something of a grim smile. She makes her way over to him, and keeps her voice low. "Not sure if the you-know-what is going to hit the fan or not. Could you help me get some of the younger students out of here?"

Polaris has posed:
Lorna could feel the change in direction the Sentinels took, and slowed her rapid flight to land on top of one of the nearby buildings. She glared, squinting with her eyes that couldn't see half as far as her senses could reach. She frowned, wind whipping her hair back into her face and she scowled, pulling out of her phone as it buzzed with Kitty's text. She heaved a breath, and texted back.

::Can confirm on the buddies' direction. I'll return after they clear the area fully.

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
Kaydin nods as he vanishes. He could probably get everyone to the buses just as easily but he didnt like the idea of putting the students in one spot for sentinels to blast so he grabs one of the students and runs back to the estate. Once the child is dropped off there, he returns back to the city to grab another one. He does this as quickly as he can, blue lightning arcing in the air around him as he moves with superhuman speed.

Zorro has posed:
Hector contiuned watching the memorial, his eyebrow raised as he watched people scramble around and saw younger people being loaded onto buses. It seemed like something was up and they were beginning to make people leave. Hector sighed and was about to turn around and leave, but felt a tug on hte back of his shirt. He turned around and saw a old woman looking up at him execptantly. The woman then said to him," Excuse me young man. I am looking for Lombardi's, my husband said he would mee me there after the vigil." Hector smiled and said to the old woman," I know where it is mam, follow me." Hector them started to leave the vigil, the old woman following behind him.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Captain Marvel says nothing, simply ceasing to follow Sebastion and letting him depart with all the haste he needs. Her gaze lifts to the sky, following the sight of Lorna flying off south. She doesn't waste any time, feet lifting to the ground as she rockets skywards in the same direction as the Genoshan Princess. Below her, an excited murmur rises from the gathered crowd as they watch her go.

"Hey," Carol calls to Lorna, floating over to her while she's on her phone, "He took control of those other four sentinels and asked what I wanted to do with them. I told him to keep them out of the area. He's agreed, but you've got to let him go and do his thing."

She turns slightly in the air, gesturing towards the cubes that stand at the center of attention. The crushed sentinels.

"Those blocks? I think they wanted to recover them. As long as they're here, they're just going to draw more attention."

Isotope has posed:
Max tipped his hat with the bandanna tied around it, soon enough, he powered down, shrugging off his ice crystals and smiled. "Thank ya for comin' out. From both of us." He nods over to his mom, and joins her speaking with some of the mourners, where he continues to converse just a little. More and more people start heading home, which may prove to be for the best.

Brian had returned without the two students he helped get to the bus. "What's the word?" He asks quietly, of course.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna tucked her phone back into her pocket, glancing upward at Captain Marvel as the woman flew over to her. She arched a brow, "I was told by Kitty. I have no interest in engaging if I don't have to. I'm not my father." She offered simply, folding her arms as she glanced back in the direction the Sentinels had flown off in. Her senses stretched thin to follow them for as long as she could.

Her focus returned to the blocks as Carol spoke of them and she arched a brow, floating up into the sky once more, nearly level with the blonde.

"I can get them out of here then."

Swamp Thing has posed:
The creature had seen enough for the moment, and was leaving the service. Soon he was back where he was, slipped into the dark of an alleyway watching the service from afar, looking at the cubes of metal, the concrete and asphalt all around. This was a world he once knew very well, but every day the creature's distaste for this thing called 'progress' grew. To him, these constructs? They were merely dead things, much like the fallen one mourned and wept over here today. If the creature were being honest with himself, it was difficult to tell the difference.

Bastion has posed:
Sebastion disappears into the busy city, swallowed up by the metal and activity of the bustling place.

The sentinels to the south do head away.

For now.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon smiles grimly as she sees blue streaks of lightning zoom in and out of the immediate area. Holy heck, Kaydin was good. At least some of the younger students would be well out of harm's way. She takes note of the plant being leaving, and of Hector's departure, and sighs a little. Perhaps another day she would meet up with them both, but this was not the day. Once as many students as she could find were on the bus, she goes to Brian. "Going to head back soon. What's the good word?"

Triage has posed:
Having done his best to persuade mourners to leave, Triage heads toward the spot that was the focus of attention, near the cubes. On his way, he spots Swamp Thing retreating into the shadows. Although he has not met the stranger, Triage ventures close enough to speak without raising his voice. "I saw what you did with the flowers. It was wonderful," he begins. He gestures toward the cubes. "Do you think that you could ... help us to transform those into something more natural if someoene doesn't move them?" He shrugs. "Something like planters?"

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
Kaydin blurs back into the city and pants heavily as he watches the various people. All that was left was the kids on the bus. He looks around for any chaos or destruction and not seeing it begins to zoom around until he found Kitty and he watches her from afar. He pulls out a chain and wraps it around his arm, ready for combat.

Isotope has posed:
Brian looked from side to side, the back to Kitty. "I think this thing just ended with no bloodshed." He says with a bit of a surprised smile. "Well, shall we go back?"

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"Probably for the best," Captain Marvel tells Lorna with a slight nod, "I'm not about to touch them. Not that they're dangerous, but ... they've got meaning to you all. It wouldn't be right. You do with them what you need to do, your highness."

That said, Carol turns in the sky and begins to drift away. Once more her phone is fetched from her pocket, a quick message fired off to Kitty: 'TTFN.'

She turns now in the sky, giving the crowd a final once-over with an intent stare before she prepares to speed off into the night.

Nightingale has posed:
Nodding towards Brian, she smiles. "That's a relief. Yeah, let's head back." She looks around for Kaydin, and when she spots him, moves over to join him. She shakes her head and rests her hand on his arm briefly. "No need. I think this is actually ending without a fight. Thank god. Or gods." A sigh of relief escapes her, as she looks back towards the memorial. "No more of these, at least for today."

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
Kaydin looks to Shannon as she comes over and smiles and he wraps the chain back around his waist to serve as a belt. He then looks to her. "So everyone's safe? I guess we are heading back? Betcha I am faster then those busses." He says with a smirk.
