The Hunt Continues
Date of Scene: 21 March 2020
Location: Manhattan
Synopsis: Terrans get involved when Lockdown chases Blurr into Manhattan.
Cast of Characters: Blurr, Slipstream, Lockdown, Smart Alek, Timber Wolf, Mon-El

Blurr has posed:
After Lockdown lost Blurr in the mountains of Canada, the Autobot hid out in the caves for a while before heading southeast toward the US Atlantic coast. He figured, hiding among populated areas was going to be easier than hiding in the wilds, because let's face it--giant mechanoids don't exactly blend in very well with Earth's organic natural landscape.

Plus, maybe Lockdown would be hesitant to cause too much chaos or damage to the locals, since some of them may well be in a position to hire him for something--if they didn't have too poor of an opinion of him.

As it is, if the bounty hunter were to search for evidence on the humans' networks, it would appear that a vehicle with an expired license that -might- be Blurr's alt mode had been spotted near Brooklyn, particularly around Bushwick...

Slipstream has posed:
Having snagged some cotton candy and chili dogs, Drake and Brin are making their way through he city. "So, now that you know what cotton candy is like, what's the verdict?" He asks around a bite of hotdog in his mouth, chewing rudely through the words. "Not bad, huh? Lar called it mattress fluff that tastes sweet."

As he slides his phone out of his pocket, he taps along the glass a few times with his thumb in search of an Uber so they can get through the city quicker. There is nothing too devious on his phone if one was to search it. Probably the typical stuff a young man would peek at it. Video game reviews. Lots of sites on cars, specifically a 68 Mustang, probably whatever form of Superhero Tindr is out in an app. No one swipes on him.

"So, I'm gonna take you to Central Park next. I think you'd like it. It's huge, lots of trees, lots of ponds. Great to breathe fresh air here in the city."

Lockdown has posed:
New clients was always good... but new clients doesn't mean much if his reputation for being one of the best hunters in Cybertronian space dies. He'd have nowhere to fall back to if things got ugly out here.

With the Tactician in orbit monitoring Earth networks and passively scanning for Blurr's Energon signature, it was only a matter of time before Lockdown found him. Lockdown had a reputation for doing the impossible when it comes to handling troublemakers... and that capability extends towards this capture bounty.

Once he had found a transformation target for his organ -a tricked out muscle car-, Lockdown had spent the better part of the last week on the hunt. When you lived as long as Cybertronians do... a few months on a backwater means nothing.

So, when traffic cameras in the local area came back positive for Blurr's alt mode, it was an easy matter to call down the Tactician for mount replacements... and head in that direction.

Blurr was clearly not interested in surrendering... and Lockdown had no interest in giving the Autobot a chance to run... so when Lockdown found Blurr a couple blocks out via Cybertronian scanning, the sound of his engine could be heard for blocks as he went to max speed, turning in place, and beelining right for Blurr.

Internally, the autocannon and electronet cannons were being loaded as he sped in that direction.

Smart Alek has posed:
Alek is currently making some odd sounds, he's staring into space. Most people avoid the wierd young adult on the sidewalk as he seems to be in his own little world. Little do they know he's currently communicating with his cell phone's cell network, those odd sounds are actually what frequencies falling within human hearing but he's actually verbally communicating with that network. His full spectrum senses might notice the incoming cybertrons or they might not, either way he's probably about to be beyond surprised.

Timber Wolf has posed:
"I'm telling you" Brin says looking over to Drake. "Lar's got no idea what he's on about. Chilli dogs are good" he says with a lick to his claws, spearing a chilli dog and chews on it. "So, what're we taking back?" he asks. Oh, Brin's got a cellphone from here too, and he's pulling up a map. Naturally, he's gone with a fitting theme. Naturally, it's a wolf theme. Brin is the timber wolf after all. So, he nods. "It says here Central Park's a wide open space"

He's got a good grasp on the phone and looks back to Drake. "Is it always this good though? I mean this city's not bad. It's apparently a dangerous city, but who would want to pick a fight with us? Well, me at least" Brin nods, pocketing his phone and takina look around.

Blurr has posed:
Blurr was speeding down the interstate through the city when he spotted someone behind him who was very clearly after -him-! And detecting no Terrans inside of the muscle car, he immediately figures it's Lockdown. He figured this would happen again at some point. Still, it's annoying as slag.

The Autobot swerves sharply across the expressway, cutting in front of several lanes of traffic to get onto the closest exit ramp toward local access roads, hoping to lose him among the meandering streets of the big city. And the heavy traffic.

Slipstream has posed:
"Yup, so you can run around Central Park all happy like. Chase squirrels, or girls, or a frisbee." Drake says teasingly as he dances away from him a few steps, grinning wildly. "I'm pretty sure no one would pick a fight with you, but we're not in a bad neighborhood. The streets that I patrol at night are kinda the worst. Lots of drug dealers and car jackers and dudes jumping ladies on the way home from work."

As he pauses at a street light, he waits until it turns green, then starts across. Out of the corner of his eye, he spies two vehicles coming down upon them at a high speed, brows lifting upwards. "Uh.. we got a Fast and Furious situation going on..."

Lockdown has posed:
Unfortunately for Blurr, that means he just made himself a giant target... with a simple way of forcing him out of his alt mode.

A short distance down the road from Blurr, Lockdown transforms, coming out of his car form and turning into a two ton seventeen feet metal giant... who immediately dives to one side, off the highway, and fires his autocannon directly at the middle of the exit ramp. The firepower there is more than enough to vaporize the structure, and turn what remains into nothing but falling debris.

Just before he hits the ground, Lockdown transforms back into his car, heading right for the break he just created as he waits for a lined up shot..

There will no doubt be civilians caught in the crossfire, but that's just the nature of this business.

Timber Wolf has posed:
"They're fast. You're furious?" Brin guesses. Sure, he's down for chasing squirrels. Or, Frisbees. Or maybe squirrels throwing Frisbees? Either way he's torn between Drake, and the speeding car. Then he decides nah, he's not wanting to be run over by some out of control car. If anything, can he make it out of the path and get Drake to safety? Huh, maybe. It's worth a shot, Drake's all fragile though, but...they can just get to the cruiser, right? And his ring lets him fly. So then. Follow Drake's lead, Brin.
Yeah he said no punching randoss. Nothing on rando cars...right? Right? Cause right now Brin wants to claw the car and punch whoever is driving it. They gotta be short here on Earth since Brin's not sure he spots anyone in the car, either.

Smart Alek has posed:
Alek is currently playing a random idle game on his cell phone via his unique method. Suddenly however the alien energies that were unleashed nearby catch his attention a bit, but he can't quite figure out what pulled him out of his game. Something is odd, the way he's percieving them now is a smell of purple, at least that is what he would state they were. He looks around for what might be causing that wierd smell, but he's not even close to the action happening.

Blurr has posed:
Blurr curses internally as the ramp in front of him blows up, sending him careening out of control. He is indeed forced to transform or else risk a bad landing. The former racer's body unfolds as he flies over the edge, twisting through the air on the way down before folding right back up again to land tires down on the street. Yeah, people are screaming and panicking by now at the sight of this.

But Blurr is off already, expertly zipping in and out of Terran traffic and headed straight for the nearest wide open area to avoid smashing too many buildings--which happens to be Central Park, where Drake and Brin and hanging out.

Slipstream has posed:
When one of the cars turns into a giant robot and starts shooting laser canons, Drake's eyes widen. "Holy shit. Brin, we need to make sure the people on the street are okay." He says as he taps his shoulder to unlock Snowball from her hibernated state. He has a harness for his little robot buddy now.

As the LED faceplate lights up, the little robot detaches and zips upwards into the sky, scanning the crowd to send feedback to the young Superhero. "Snowball! I need you to give me targets, now." There's a high pitched BWEE-BWEE from the little Starktech robot. Targets locked!

Those targets happen to be civilians about to get ran over or bowled over by falling debris. There's a rush of blue energy from around the Legionnaire and he surges off in a number of high speed blinks! He snatches an old lady to pull her out of the cross roads, bursts again to tackle a child from a falling scaffolding beam, then blinks again as he runs up a wall, whips out his ice gun, and freezes a chunk of concrete into place before it can topple down.

Lockdown has posed:
Blurr kept too much control to get a good shot off, but now Lockdown has him locked in, and the Tactician is tracking him by visual above the city. Unless he goes underground, Blurr is in for an extended fight through the streets.

Lockdown's form is not as fast as Blurr's is... but Lockdown is almost as fast with his muscle car chassis, and he just as expertly weaves around traffic to keep up with Blurr.

Can't hide now, Autobot.

Timber Wolf has posed:
Unlike Drake, Brin has no fancy skipping things. No worry. He just bares his teeth and throws his head back, growling. Or growling that sounds like 'Run away', apparently a timber wolf isn't being subtle. Nope. Desperate times. Desperate measures.

So he's growling and roaring, if only to scare people away. Mostly cause, frigging Timber Wolf. Impulsive, hot headed and 'omfg wolfman' things.

Oh yeah. Wolfman. With cotton candy in one hand. Chilli dog in the other one. So yeah...Brin's up on the hood of a car, growling and snarling and roaring.

Smart Alek has posed:
Alek is now officially overloaded as the two robots or cars or whatever they are at the moment combat their way through Central Park. The small flying tech is easily lost in all the noise, even the wolf man. Alek does what one does in this situation. He dives under a nearby bench and huddles in fear. "What is happening?" he says to noone.

Blurr has posed:
Blurr pulls up into one of the parking areas near Central Park, wedging himself between a large van and a pickup truck. Lockdown hasn't opened fire on him again yet, so maybe he has succeeded in losing him. Probably not. Obviously he doesn't care about his reputation on this planet, though.

Think...think...in the little time that he has, he runs more sensor sweeps. Lockdown is still in the area. How was he tracking? He'd lost him in the caves before. So...

Suddenly a train rushes out of an above-ground station, and heads down the tracks into a tunnel that leads underground. That's it. He needs to get underground...!

Lockdown has posed:
Not so fast...

Lockdown was hot on his trail, and once Blurr parks, that's all the time he needs to move in 'behind' Blurr from across the parking lot, transform, and bring up his electronet cannon to try and slow him down. He brings up the autocannon as well, but doesn't fire it as he closes in with robot form. He keeps it up in case thhe Autobot gets ideas of running.

Blurr has moments before Lockdown is on top of him.

Lockdown is pretty obvious by now to all the Terrans.

Slipstream has posed:
Once he clears the last of the civilians to safety, Drake spies Lockdown shifting into his 'war form' to so speak. "Snowball! Deep freeze!" He calls out to his robotic companion that orbits the chaos from above.

Doot-Da-Doo! Snowball chimes out loudly, then begins to whirl herself about in a quick circle as she gathers the chilled air around her, then focuses it on her canon as a blast of blue, dense frost looks to encase the weapon of Lockdown in a thick sheet of below freezing ice.

A blue streak blurs it's way across the street towards the parking lot as Drake covers the distance with his speed powers, blinking in and out quickly. "Brin! We gotta take this thing down before it kills someone!" He calls out to his teammate. With that, he levels his ice gun and aims at his feet, looking to create a slippery surface beneath his large body to hopefully making him tumble before he can start firing away.

Timber Wolf has posed:
Brin hops off the hood and nods. "I've got a peace offering" he calls over. "Think it likes cotton candy or chilli dogs?" he adds after a moment's pause and he waves the cotton candy like waving the big dumb hunk of metal over. Hey, if cotton candy is a peace offering? Well....as he watches the war form.

"You gotta be sprocking kidding me" he shouts, and through it all, through the chaos and fighting...is still eating cotton candy. Because why not. T-Wolf's not wanting to let good food go to waste. Plus if the snakcs get shot, then Cosmic Boy will never let him live it down.

But if the snacks get eaten? Well, different story. Plus, there's food vendors in the park, so...who has to tele Rok that his food got eaten anyway? Looking to Lockdown again, Brin nods and (though he'll regret it, thank you fangs) whistles. it's not a tuneful whistle. It's what would happen if wolves whistled.

Smart Alek has posed:
Alek is hiding underneath a bench and is generally out of the way of the fight between the giant robots, wolf men, little floating things.

He does however go from scared out of his mind to more dumbfounded. His abilities give him a glance at the various wavelengths of energy being displaced and it's like forth of july for him. THe energies that freeze things, the energy weapon discharges, even the energies that power the various combatants. "Woah. So much cool." If that even makes any grammar sense.

Blurr has posed:
Well, it's a good thing moments are all Blurr needs! As he sees Lockdown approaching, he prepares himself, waiting until the bounty hunter is almost on top of him before he suddenly transforms too and whips out his electrolaser to fire it at close range in an attempt to cause servos to lock up and lead to temporary paralysis while he jumps over the other vehicles in the parking lot.

Just barely missing the net, he transforms again almost immediately and makes a mad dash for the subway tunnel! Hopefully, the next train won't be coming for a while...

Lockdown has posed:
When Drake fires that freeze gun at him, the arm moves out of the way immediately, having been paying attention for Terran resistance. Then, he stands still as Drake ices up the ground... and those red eyes of his stare directly at him.

"This doesn't concern you, Terran. My target is that ones cargo, not any of you." Lockdown states to Drake.

At least Lockdown isn't aiming those guns at the human yet... but the metallic sound of Lockdowns voice reverbs throughout the park. "Get in my way as I hunt, and I'll consider you or the wolfish Terran-" A glance is spared to Timber wolf with those red eyes, "-an obstacle to be dealt with."

Of course, standing still allows Blurr to lands his electrolaser bolts on him, probably shorting out everything around him with electricity... and making the Terrans hair stand on end. So, he doesn't really have much of a choice in standing still in the ice.

Timber Wolf has posed:
"Now hold on one sprocking minute" Brin says. "I'm not a Terran. See. That's like calling you a robot trash collector. I mean. You're not some cutesy Snowball like robot with a vaccuum cleaner. Though let's be honest. You'd suck less if you were" he adds. Brin's got a tempr and a mouth, but hey, he is hoping to keep Lockdown's attention on him. Problem is if he gets shot at. That's kinda the worry...

On the other claw, he's not on ice. Which is a huge win in his book, as Brin is coordinating with Drake. Then again, Brin's got no fancy tech to hand.

Gotta get a freeze gun. He can finally beat Drake up with that one, really. So what if it's cheating. Or he'd freeze Rok by mistake, yeah, but....but....Focus, Brin! Focus!

Brin isn't stupid enough to look up and meet Lockdown's eyes. Instead he can put up to two tons of force with his super strength, so....oh yeah he's got that in reserve solely cause picking a fight with that robot would be kinda stupid, honestly...Brin likes surviving too much

Slipstream has posed:
"I may be a terrain, but I'm also a member of the Legion of Superheroes and a part time Avenger when they're literally desperate enough to call on me." Drake says as he floats upwards in the sky, thanks to his flight ring. He aims the gun once more at the large robot, squinting his eyes. "I don't know what you and your friend are doing, but it stops right now. Don't make me put you on ice, robot."

Snowball flanks around Lockdown from the other side as she whirls and chirps, drawing in the air around her once more as her eyes gleam brightly. At his command, she'll fire again.

"Timber, try and track down the other one. They're gonna get someone killed if they go at it. I'm sending a signal to the Avengers. Maybe Iron Man or the Hulk can help us out." Hopefully!

Smart Alek has posed:
Alek gets up from under his bench.. and he gawks up at the robot and the heated conversation being exchanged, he begins to wander in that direction, nearly tripping over a trash can and then a lamp pole. "The big explosions and energy discharges over with? That was amazing.."

Blurr has posed:
Blurr drives across the Great Lawn, making a beeling for the subway tunnel. Since Lockdown is otherwise occupied now, he easily dips into it, speeding down the tracks and hoping to Primus a train doesn't happen along--not so much for his own sake, but for the Terrans'. To be honest, he used to not care too much about them--they were hairy and watery, didn't live long and were kinda gross, but recently, he'd befriended some of them and found out they actually weren't so bad.

Anyway, he keeps scanning, and eventually locates a defunct route that the city had shut down due to lack of use. He quickly takes advantage of this and swerves off down it, plowing over the flimsy yellow warning barriers. It isn't long before he finds himself in an abandoned station at the end of the old route.

Lockdown has posed:
"I don't have time for this." Lockdown replies to Drake. "He's my bounty, I'm a bounty hunter. He decided to hide on this rock, not me." Lockdown finally shakes off the servo paralysis, and Lockdown swerves to turn around... then bends down so he's nearly face to face with Drake.

Seventeen foot of two ton war machine looks right at him. "If you want me to get off this planet quicker, help me to capture his cargo. I have a reputation to protect."

He's lost Blurr. Again. But that doesn't matter. He might be able to enlist help in his tracking.

Slipstream has posed:
"You don't got any jurisdiction on Earth." Drake says to Lockdown as he continues to float in front of him. He holds the gun at the steady with both hands. "America also has sanctuary laws." Sort of. "Either way, I can't have you blasting away in the streets, you or him."

He continues to sway back and forth in the air, squinting his eyes and thinking. "Why do you want him? What crimes did he commit?" Well, if this guy is dangerous...

Timber Wolf has posed:
Timber's on the tracking, and Drake's got this. So Brin follows the (sorta obviious) tracks from up in the air, dropping to the ground. Destination? Subway tunnel. Hopefully wolfie doesn't get splatted by train...

Smart Alek has posed:
Alek will be silent and just stare up at the giant mechanical beings, his senses measuring every small detail of the energies that swirl around the being, hopefully it doesn't get him squished for being such a small powerless 'terran'.

Blurr has posed:
It will be fairly easy for Brin to track Blurr. He's not exactly small, that's for sure, and has left plenty of scratches and tire skid marks along the walls and on the tracks. Plus, he could always ask the frightened bystanders. Not exactly easy to miss a fancy custom rig-looking sports car speeding like a maniac down a -subway tunnel-.

He'd best be careful not to get squished by trains, but since he's a lot smaller than Blurr, it wouldn't be hard for him to just press himself up against the wall if one comes, as long as he can sense one coming. Which isn't hard, given they are pretty bright and tend to shake the tunnels as they come hurtling through.

Anyway, it wouldn't be long before he'd find the abandoned route and accompanying station. It looks like it has been sitting there for a number of years, filled with dust, cracked walls, junk, and a decommissioned railcar.

Timber Wolf has posed:
Given Drake's got this one, Brin's finding it alright, and finding dust. He sneezes once, twice, and stabs his claws through the rail car, and gashes it. On the plus side. No squishing by trrains. Nose to the tracks, so to speak. Nose to the tracks and hey, why not. Gotta find this guy while Drake deals with Mr Roboto over there. Demi Arragato, indeed. Oh, Brin's learned Earth pop culture. There's gonna be a change of music on the cruiser when they get back...

But first. Find Blur!

Lockdown has posed:
"He stole something from my client." Lockdown replies to Drake, "It's my contract to bring it back. I have no interest in causing damage to this planet or you Terrans." Lockdown points to himself, then, "Where we come from, there's been a war raging for Eons. He's just one of many soldiers. I... am a hunter, on the sidelines."

Lockdown slowly stands up, then, "You can call me Lockdown. Who are you?" Those red eyes stay on Drake.

Slipstream has posed:
"I am Slipstream." Drake says as he uses his codename in this type of situation. He holds up his hands which has the Legionnaires ring upon it. "As I said, a member of the Legion of Superheroes. Our job is to protect not only this world, but several others in this galaxy. There's like three hundred of us." Give or take.

"So, my guy is tracking him down right now. What is it that he stole from your client? We'll retrieve it and hand it back to you. Then you two can go your separate ways off our planet."

Lockdown has posed:
The weapons on Lockdown's arms retract. The left arm's electronet cannon audibly folding back into the 'arm', while the right hands forearm mounted autocannon folds inwards, then up. Seems like Lockdown is standing down, for the moment.

"It's a large data cylinder. You won't know what it is, but Blurr knows exactly what he's taken." Lockdown continues, that metallic bass voice continuing to rumble in the bones, even as Lockdowns black chassis moves into a sitting position in front of Drake. "Blurr isn't going to hand the chip over to you... but I'll be interested to hear his response." Lockdown crosses his metal arms... and there's actually a *smirk* of amusement to Lockdowns metal face.

Slipstream has posed:
Continuing to float in the air, Drake lets out a heavy breath. "Well, I'll contact my fearless leader who can discuss the rest of this with you." He says as he taps along his data pad, sending out a summon and a location setting. Help Help. Large robots shooting up NYC. Help.

"So what does this cylinder do? Does it blow stuff up? Is it a battery? Does it house an alien baby?" He questions the large robot. "The details are important."

Mon-El has posed:
Once Drake sent out the transmission, he would receive a response from Lar telling he and Brin to meet him in the hangar of the cruiser in a few hours, since the very public Manhattan Island probably wasn't the best place to have these conversations.

Already, since the fighting had finally ended, people are coming back out with their phones and cameras, and even some news station helicopters are starting to buzz about with their cameras and journalists...

Lockdown has posed:
"I didn't ask, and don't want to know. I'm a bounty hunter." Lockdown stares at Drake, those red eyes narrowing just slightly in mild curiosity, "You don't understand the concept of need to know, do you?"

As the helicopters and people start to swarm around him, Lockdown watches them. "Your people haven't seen my kind before, have they." Lockdown notes with a cautious air.

Slipstream has posed:
"You aren't anything special. We've had Skrulls, mega huge plant aliens that suck the life from everyone, Galactus, Thanos, whatever Superman's version of Thanos is, Darkseid I think is his name." Drake says as he taps away furiously on his datapad, eyes rolling upwards a bit. 'No, pick somewhere else, truuust me.'

"Big talking robots is like totally chill. Sides, I hung out with Vision, who is a totally humanoid AI with laser beams in his forehead. He's pretty cool." On the topic of need to know? "I never take a job unless I know everything. Cool, you're a bounty hunter, so let's say you get this cylinder, stick it on your spaceship and it blows you up? Hard to get paid if you're gonna die before, right?"

Mon-El has posed:
Lar acquiesces to Drake's demands, then. << Okay fine, just needed it to be away from the public. >> So he picks a small island in the Carribbean with no known Terran population on it. Hopefully, they're not wrong about it being isolated...

Lockdown has posed:
It doesn't take a Terran to know when someones lying out their ass, "Uh huh. While I'm surprised anyone on this planet knows any of those names, throwing them around like so much Energon isn't going to win you any points with me, Slipstream." Lockdown shifts his red eyes back to Drake as he sits there, "So you're a form of police, it sounds like. Why did you join them?"

Slipstream has posed:
"Oh darn. Here I was hoping to up my street cred with killer robots." Drawls Drake dourly. "Anyways, we're gonna meet my leader, Lar Gand at these coordinates." He taps his finger along his datapad, tipping him a wink. "Why did I join? I like saving people's lives and protecting others. " Blip! He teleports out in a flash of light.

Lockdown has posed:
Left alone with the humans around him, gawking. This was not how Lockdown saw his day going... but maybe he's about to meet some new clients. Or perhaps people who can help him save his race.

Either way, it was time to go to the coordinates. Blurr would have to wait.

Standing up to his full height, he looks around briefly to those around him... before he starts running back towards the city itself. Once he's out of sight of most of the onlookers and relatively shielded from others, Lockdown transforms once again into a muscle car, speeding away towards the outskirts.

It was time to call down the Tactician in a remote location for the meeting.
