Nightingale has posed:
Halloween might have passed just a few days prior, but that was no reason to stop having fun! With Homecoming and the spookiest day of the year so close together, it only made sense to have a Monster Mash-up! The room was bedecked in spiderwebs with their arachnid residents clinging to sticky, silky strands. Faux granite gravestones, likely made by the art class out of foam and faux finished to look like carved rock, sprouted from the floor. The ground itself was covered in mist that ebbed and flowed like water, from small containers of dry ice in water hidden all about. At one end of the room, a temporary stage had been built, on which was all the equipment a band would need to rock the night away. Tables had been set up around the perimeter of the room, laden with spooky treats and non-alcoholic drinks to fuel the festivities. A few chairs had been left about for would-be wallflowers, with plenty of space everywhere else for dancing and Halloween hijinks.

One student was there a bit early, putting the finishing touches on the goodies at one of the tables. Shannon is wearing a deceptively simple yet elegant, flowing dress that reaches down to the ankles. It is fashioned from pale blue silk with a dappled gold pattern shimmering throughout. The garment is sleeveless and reaches to the ankles, with a low V-shaped neckline. It is cinched at the waist with a wide belt of gold filigree, and a flowing cape of the same material is fastened to the shoulders by similar bands of gold filigree. It flows freely from her back, and sweeps behind her in a short, but regal train. Matching soft slippers in the same pale blue silk complete the ensemble. Despite her elegant costume, she has a worn, well-loved brown leather bag hanging from her belt, bedecked with Nordic runes in an eye-pleasing manner. Turning to the stage, she grins at Dazzler, and gives her a thumbs-up. "All set when you are. This is going to be awesome... thank you so much for being willing to do this!"

Faraday has posed:
Indira comes in dancing. Not that she can ever entirely hold still anyway, but now she has a blatant excuse to sashay and groove her way through the door. Her hooded, sleeveless black dress shimmers with silky rainbow scales when the light hits it just so, and the side to side bob of her head is all the more appropriate with the cobra's mark on the back. "Finally! I get to see a full blown party in this place. This is gonna be awesome. You two look awesome, by the way." She says over her shoulder to her teammates and friends as the trio rolls in.

Storm has posed:
Storm agreed to oversee the festivities, likely due to Scott's nerves when it came to such things. She wanted the kids to have fun, not have to endure The Scowl. She was wearing a sparkling black dress that had eight long tendrils that swept along the ground around her. It was sleeveless and her hair was done up carefully with seashells and bits of colorful coral and a golden tiara. In her hands was a golden hued trident that looked wickedly sharp.

Once she had settled herself into a seat with a drink that had a view over the entire Dining Room, her eyes bled white as a low fog clung tenaciously to the floor. Not enough that you couldn't see around yourself, but after a few feet? It was like the floor didn't exist. Smirking softly as she took a sip and looked at those students already here and those coming in.

SpyderByte has posed:
Making his way into the dance with both Indira and Xiomara is the Gothic-Cyberpath known as Jeremy. Today, he is decked out as Neo from The Matrix. His hair is slicked back, wearing a pair of black shades, a tight form fitting black shirt, a pair of black pants with multiple leather belts wrapped about the legs that holsters several fake plastic guns, and as usual, the tell tale and iconic trench coat that hits at the ankles that is covered by black shiny combat boots. Despite being quite younger, he is almost a spitting image.

As he moves forward, there is something confident and dangerous about him. He's not shy or meek like he normally is when he skulks about the mansion. Today, he is in-character! He is going to defeat The Machines! With his phone strapped high on his arm, his voice comes out through the speakers.

<< You two look amazing also! I'm so glad that we did this. I hope this is really fun. >>

He is practically beaming with happy energy, despite the serious look upon his face. He's /super serious/, because Neo is. He can't drop character!

<< I can dodge bullets. >> He says jokingly. << Whoosh. >>

Jax Miller has posed:
Homecoming. Well, the student ambling in may not have come home, per se, but seems to be filled with hope that for the next few years this school might be a home away from home. So, hopecoming then? Doesn't fit as well, but Jax ambles in, dressed in an ensemble that is just slightly outrageous. A tank top, white pants with slightly flared bottoms studded with rhinestones, a belt that appears to be purely decorative hanging at a somewhat rakish angle, the buckle picked out in gold and what are probably more rhinestones but which are probably meant to be diamonds. Something glittery at any rate. His hair has been slicked back, and he walks with a certain rhythm, projecting as much presence as he can.

Wrong hair color, alas, and wrong eye color to fully pull off the full Freddy, but then he's also covered in fur, has expressive ears, a tail that's managed to undulate freely behind him through an artfully made elasticated hole just below the belt and is, when you get right down to it, a cat walking upright. But looking just about ready to rock a packed out Wembley Stadium.

Colossus has posed:
Colossus has gotten in on the monster costume in the best way he can. He wears a leather jacket and t-shirt, boots and jeans, a pair of black sunglasses around his face and a plastic shotgun strapped to his back. Yup, he's a full-on Terminator, straight out of Terminator 2, "Come with me if you want to live!" Piotr calls out in his own Russian accent, not quite Austrian but close enough for most Americans.

"You have done great things, Shannon. I am impressed," he says, gesturing around the room as he settles in to play his part as chaperone.

Red has posed:
Halloween past? NOPE! Not with someone stomping down the hallway wearing what sounds like 400 pounds of armor, predominantly in the pauldrons. And whoever is in that armor walks in the very way a posthuman, gene manipulated machismo walks after he spent the last milenum or two in a maelstroem of chaos, horror and murder. Because said walking armor is all blood red and golden, and there is that large frickin chainsword they haul behind.

"BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!"

The voice bellows through some voice scrambler as the Khorne Berserk Armor clad Alice pushes open the doors. Yes, who else would spend days upon days and some 30 pounds of EVA to turn into an armor that looked like someone took a 30 mm heroic miniature and blew it up to some 6 feet something, and then manage to put it on alone? Alice.

Warpath has posed:
Homecoming. How did that tradition start? A shake of his head and Jimmy walks into the room to see who is about and what they are doing. Not really the type for costumes and such, he does attempt some feeble humor. Dressed in jeans and a loose t-shirt, the only thing out of the ordinary is a sticker on his left pectoral that reads: Hello, I'm: A homicidal maniac. We look like everyone else.

See costume. Feeble as it is. He does take time to look over gathering and takes a few steps in and to the side to people can come and go. The sound of the heavy armor does get his curiosity so he considers Alice's arrival with a hint of amusement.

Dazzler has posed:
Dazzler is in the house tonight alright, the singer wearing a long cloak with a hood pulled down low to hide all but her lower face. There's a band setting up on the stage, at least, although they've got a certain country air about them. Still, there's plenty of electrical equipment and gear, keyboards and guitars and the like. Even though the room doesn't seem to have anything in the way of special lighting.

"I wouldn't have it any other way, Shannon. Andrea even hooked me up with this great band, and we've got a few surprises." She looks around the room, then. "I'll start us up in a few minutes once more people arrive."

And until then, recorded music plays in the background.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon just turns flame red and ducks her head, offering a small smile to the rather boisterous Terminator impersonator. "It wasn't alone," she demurs. "Megan helped a lot decorating in here, and you know the art class helped a lot making some of these decorations, too." Too, she smiles over at the Spider Queen in her misty nest, sketching a theatrical bow with wings outspread. "This beats dry ice mist by a long shot, miss Munroe. Thank you so much!"

But, as her teammates come in, she can't help but scamper on over to them, anything -but- a dignified Mother of Dragons! No, instead, she hugs Jeremy, in a bid to utterly destroy his attempt at seriousness, and waves happily to Xio and Indi. "Glad you guys could make it!" Jax's entrance isn't lost on her, and she can't resist singing out, "We are the champions of the woooooooooooorld!"

Jax Miller has posed:
The costumes are amazing. For a moment, Jax feels underdressed, and then his usual self reasserts. Itself. Gah, grammar. One ear half tilted sideways, he nods to Jeremy "Looking good there. I'll take your word for the Kung Fu." Whirling, he goggles at Alice and just offers an open mouthed shrug, looking down at himself and indicating that, in general terms, he may as well be naked compared to that amazing bit of work.

Piotr gets a wink and a whispered "Wear that in San Diego" before the cat kid moves on, wondering where this amazingly real fog comes from. Huh. But it's hard not to hear Shannon, and he strides over, declaring in a loud, clear, and above all, tone accurate voice "Tonight, I'm gonna have myseeeeeelf, a real good time. I feel alii-ii-iii-iiiiive!"

Colossus has posed:
Colossus smiles to Shannon, "We do like to make things a team effort here whenever we can. And I was glad to have the class help out a bit. I spent much of the morning trying to recruit students to join for next semester," he says. Technically, art is an elective and no one is required to take it, but that just means Piotr goes around singing the praises of art and trying to talk kids into signing up.

He points at Jax and nods, "Ah, yes, that is a good idea. I could even go with my metal self and be a Termi-nator," he says, then turns it into the classic Arnie thumbs up.

Aegis has posed:
"That fog is realistic. Shannon and crew got some skills," Xio murmurs coming into the room. She looks around at the setting, a grin on her face. Halloween is the best. Followed by the day after which is more celebrations and family based in her household as they celebrated the Day of the Dead. This year, thanks to Homecoming, she got three days of the holidays instead of two!

Looking at her, she doesn't seem to be that dressed up. Unless one knows the source material. The outfit is three pieces, all in black with hot pink highlights. Blackform fitting pants that are tugged up to reveal shin and calf fully, the pants stopping just below the knees. A midriff faux wraparound top with a highcollar. A 'skirt' in the form of a jacket with a pink zipper that is tied around her waist, the arms falling to either side with more pink accents. Around her upper arms and wrists, with a few bits and pieces flowing to the back of the costume, are some electronic looking gizmos, which match with some things at her belt and the fingerless oversized gloves covering hands and wrists. The hair was the achievement. A skull cap somehow contained her hair, hiding it from view. Atop this was a pink mohawk.

It was none other than Sombra from Overwatch in her Los Muertos costume, although there was no sign of the skeletal makeup that would normally go with it. She did have in a pair of contact lenses to match the part though. "This is going to be too much fun."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn had tirelessly helped to decorate the dining hall, with the intention of making it as spooky and fun as possible..Although that spider web is pretty darn sticky! And Meg seems to be a magnet for webbing to boot.

But that's okay cuz she's thoroughly enjoying herself and is determined to make this a party to remember! She's fashionably late, probably due to putting the finishing touches on her costume..

Actually scrap that! Due to indecision til the last moment, Megan ended up making a last minute emergency rush at the Party City store, grabbing a certain Disney costume on clearance. Moments later she strides in, blue streaks in her hot pink hair, pink leggings, hi-low skirt and fringe top, all edged in grey fringe and..Lots of spider webs. Ooh, and a sapphire crown and the finishing touch: A long oak staff, tipped in a faux emerald enclosed in a dragon's claw.

~Ooooh, they call me the Queen of Mean!~ she sings and sways as she strides in, totally in character.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie had things come up, so had to hit up with a costume he already had. He was spider-man last year, so not wanting to be the same twice. Sam walks in in shining chainmail, cloak, sword at his hip. The whole thing looks amazingly well made, but with the ease he moves in it could it be real. He will step in and to the side to look over who all is about. He is here to help watch so will head over to say Hi, to Ororo.

Faraday has posed:
With costumes to oogle and people to identify, Indira's head is on a swivel and her eyes can't settle in any one place for too long. Here and there they even gloss over with a crackling electric gleam of excitement. "I love Halloween so much. This is just an excuse to make it last longer and I am all in for that plan. Oh! Speaking of..."

"Hey Shannon!" Indira says as one of the Mistresses of Ceremony makes her way over. "You all did a great job setting this place up, it looks perfect. And -of course- it's gonna be fun, Jer, we're all here! I'm pretty sure the gang could make an old lady bridge party fun somehow. Maybe not, uh, entirely appropriate in that specific example but... yeah I'll just stop that line of thought there. ...teachers." She mutters conspiratorially and squints their way.

SpyderByte has posed:
As he gets hug-rushed by Shannon, Jeremy lets out a surprised 'wark' before he returns the hug. He gives her a big smile.

<< You look great! Everything looks so cool. You all did a great job. >>

He bumps his shoulder to Indi and Xio's, grinning as well at his teammates. The New-New Mutants know how to party.

He looks from one teacher to the other, then over towards Dazzler and the band setting up. He drops his character a bit to give a giddy noise of joy under his breath. He's a huge fan, obviously.

When he spots Jax Mercury, he stares at him openly for a moment, his brows lifting up over his shades.

<< You're Freddy Mercury! I love Queen! I love Freddy. He is so cool. You look just like him. >> With fur and a tail.

<< Come over and hang out with us. Guys, this is Jax! His dad is a NFL player. Jax, this is Indira and Xiomara! We're all best friends. >>

Red has posed:
The Khorne marine slowly stomps through the fog, the large armor plates rattling some as he marches on towards the sidelines, carefully eying not to run over anyone with those pauldrons while maintaining an almost glacial speed. Yes, pauldrons make the year 400000 or some. But they have THREE downsides: heat, almost no field of vision, and the foam eating most of the acustics from outside. You can't get rid of heat under that costume. And that is with the fans inside running full power, trying to push warm air out through the backpack. Which incidently does create the sound that belongs to the armor. And the helmet was awkwardly designed, so every step of Alice in the fog is more feeling where the step lands. Plus, everythign from the outside comes only through dampened. It's a great costume... for everyone but the wearer.

Dazzler has posed:
The band does a little last minute tuning, and Dazzler keeps the cloak hood pulled forward. Turning to look at the group, she nods. The lights go out in the entire, big hall and the background music goes quiet for a moment. One heartbeat, two heartbeats. Creepy organ music starts up in the darkness, the fog now very thick on the floor. Slowly and gradually it builds to a steady crescendo, rising and rising. Holding.

Silence.

Two chords break the silence with a familiar, signature opening while red lights flash outward from the stage to silhouette the band and the lead singer. Gone is the hooded cloak now. The blonde wears tight, red leather pants with a matching jacket, complete with overly padded shoulders.

Even though no words are sung, it?s like they blast through everyone?s mind.

<Thril-ler!>

The funky bassline starts and Dazzler starts undulating, hunching and grinding with the beat. She turns to face the crowd, and instead of her signature blue eye-mask starburst the pattern is red. To match the replica MJ leathers. Still dancing in the funky shuffle, she turns to flash a grin to the room.

Jax Miller has posed:
"Shhh, don't tell 'em man!" Freddy 'Jax' Mercury faux whispers to Jeremy and the gang, striding up. "I've only got enough free tickets for..." and he looks around, counts heads. Thinks. "Okay, yeah, you can tell 'em."

    Hah!

Ey? He knows that voice. It's only now that he's paying any attention to the band on the stage and...

    Is that...

It is! Gah! And here he is without a pen and album to sign!

"I... think... I may have died and ascended to heaven..."

Nightingale has posed:
Jax's vocal performance earns a quirk of one finely arched golden brow from Shannon, the winged avatar of Daenerys Targaryen favoring the feline vocalist with a bright smile. "Holy crow. Pitch-perfect, too. I bet you'd do fantastic in Miss Blaire's or Miss Carr's music classes!"

Jeremy's and Indi's compliments put a deeper hue of rose on her cheeks, and she just smiles at them. "It wasn't just me, though. Megan had a lot to do with it, and Tabitha was awesome helping keep everything on track. Honestly, I don't know what I'd have done without those two to help keep things on track. Then there's Miss Munroe helping out with the fog, and the art class with making some of the decorations..." As he helps make some introductions, she smiles at him and Jax, nodding--and giggling. "Mhm. Should've seen the look on his dad's face when I yelled GO PATRIOTS on his way out. Should make the next game more interesting!"

Alice's costume has Shannon's other brow raising as well, and she lets out a low whistle. "Holy sh... daaaaaaang, girl, even with your mad skillz that must've taken forever!" There's a thumbs-up and a grin.

She can't seem to keep her eyes on any one thing, either. So. Many. Costumes. Megan's gets a smile from her, and she waves to Sam. Warpath's tongue-in-cheek attempt at dressing up for the holiday earns a stifled giggle, and a shake of her head. "Oh, my."

But then, the music starts, and who could keep still to that beat? She lets out a loud whistle and a cheer, clapping for Dazzler with no holding back whatsoever.

Warpath has posed:
His eyes move over the gathering slowly, considering a few of the costumes, but the music taking up and Allison's performance catch Jimmy's attention and for the time being that's where it stays. His behavior similar to ta dog hearing a stange high pitched sound initially, head turning to each side once or twice. Finally he settles to something more normal, enjoying the music.

SpyderByte has posed:
<< Oh. Yeah. Dazzler is a teacher here. >>

Jeremy says as he shoulder bumps into Jax with a grin on his face. He has to adjust the volume control on his phone a bit to be heard over the music.

He starts to sway a bit to the beat, giving a few stomps of his feet in time with it. He loves this song. Everyone does. If you don't like Thriller, get out. Leave. Go. Shoo.

He has a bit of an awkward 'white boy' wiggle in the way he moves side to side, but he doesn't seem to care. He's amongst the safety net of his friends and he's having a good time. (Having a good time!)

Red has posed:
The Marine doesn't really manage to get too far through the crowd in the length of one song, as careful as it moves. After all, don't run over people. And clapping with gloves the size of plates made from foam... doesn't sound at all right, so instead it's the chainsword that is ever so carefully lifted up as the others clap, and a roaring whine comes from it. Well, the teeth don't move - that'd be a safety violation.

Colossus has posed:
Colossus does not attempt to dance. He has attempted to dance at previous iterations of this sort of celebration and the results were less than optimal. He keeps his arms crossed over his chest and tries to look intimidating and cool. He mostly succeeds at that, hard not to given his physicality, although his smile is a bit more goofy than anything.

"Even in Russia, we heard Michael Jackson. My parents had a few of his records, actual records, made of vinyl. I think they were vintage, too."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn pauses, still swaying to the music as she peers around this way and that, admiring the costumes. Wow, so many colours, so many sparklies! Shannon waves to her and she nods and smiles to her, returning the wave as she continues to wander about, peering this way and that.

James given a chuckle and nods, "Heey, that's the most realistic costume ever!" she giggles and twirls, her staff glowing green, even sending out some fairy sparkles for that magic effect, "What do you think?"

Storm is given a smile and wave, "Woow, so cool! I nearly dressed up as your daughter, Uma!" she laughs, wouldn't that have been fun?

Sam is given a grin and a bow, "Why hello sir knight! Are you here to battle the Queen of mean?" and finally Alice's complex costume is looked up and down with an appraising nod. "Wooow so detailed! How long did that take?" she gasps at Colossus' costume and shivers, "Eep, so lifelike! I guess your sis is a party pooper as always?" she smirks. Her loss.

The New Mutants groupie is noticed but she mostly leaves them to mingle. She'll congratulate Shannon when she's less distracted, though the furry cat guy is noted with a slight smile. Ooh, a new guy.

Aegis has posed:
"Hola, Jax! Como esta?" is the greeting from Xio to the young man. At one time in life, his appearance might have gotten her staring. But after being in this school a few months? She was pretty sure nothing could ever surprise her.

Cue music! And she was wrong as Dazzler is revealed. The iconic notes of a song everyone likely knew has her uncharacteristically squealing with excitement.

"Guess we find out who studied the videos now," she says with a wink to her companions and then she is heading out to the dance floor, fully intending to dance the appropriate dance for this one!

Dazzler has posed:
Dazzler absolutely rocks her impression of MJ, right down to the choreography. And the country boy at the keyboard is killing it with the creepy sound effects, dropping a howl or a whistle at just the right place in the song.

"It's close to miiiid-night, and something evil's lurking in the dark."

"Under the moooon-light, you see a sight that almost stops your heart."

"You try to scream, but terror takes the sound before you make it."

"You start to freeze, as horror looks you right between the eyes."

"You?re Paralyzed!"

"Cuz this is THRILLER!"

And while Dazzler sings, red light flashes and whirls to punctuate the lyrics. Cuz' when your mutant power is to convert sound into light, you're never short on special effects at a rock concert.

Faraday has posed:
"Tsh, American football." Indira tsks, briefly lapsing into the thicker accent of the elder members of her family. "You don't even play it with your feet." She's quick to drop the accent before grinning widely to Jax. "Welcome to the school! We'll all have to chat later when it's not so loud and crazy."

And then... That Sound. Indira's head whips around with enough force to briefly dislodge her faux cobra hood, which she tugs back over her head. "Ohshit best night ever!" She whispers reverently as she bounces on her feet with her hands in front of her mouth in an expression of unabashed glee. There's even a few little violet-blue sparks that escape as her palms come together.

"I did!" She blurts out to Xiomara. "Let's DO THIS!" And she's all but bounding after the Latina to go embarrass herself with joy on the dance floor.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smirks a bit and says "For protection of the king and his country." He smiles not clarifying which king and country he means. He grins at the music, and will actually step in with the dance a bit, seems the southern knight has some moves as he keeps to the dance well enough to be one of the video extras.

Siphon has posed:
Tabitha couldn't decide what to dress up as, seeing as how this is both her first Halloween and her first school dance. So she decided to put some ideas together. The tiny one is draped in a bright red hooded closk over a simple peasant's blouse and skirt. She carries a classic wicker picnic basket over one arm with something inside tucked under a cloth. She also seems to be wearing some kind of covered name tag.

She really didn't know what to expect, but the room being this packed certainly wasn't it. She's been keeping to the edges, using her size to help her hide a bit while she gets used to the whole thing. Dazzler and band starting their performance helps to relax her some but she still mostly keeps to being a wallflower.

Warpath has posed:

Moving his attention from the stage to Megan, Jimmy smirks a little,"It's a gift." he tells her softly and goes back to watching the performance since she moves on her way again. He nods appreciatively. He keeps a passive watch on the goings on, certain New Mutants manage to find trouble wherever they go after all. He notes the arrival of the wallflower, nods at Tabitha, and then looks back to the stage once more.

Jax Miller has posed:
Ba-da da-da da-da-DUM, BA-da da-da da-da-DUM. The bass exits the stage, crawls along the floor, surges its way into Jax' feet and somehow hotwires itself directly into his brain. There's no fighting this. There's no denying this... he's /got/ to dance!

With barely a conscious thought, he puts a hand on Jeremy's back and steps towards the dance floor, or at least the misty square where the dance floor will be the moment he steps onto it, because you best believe there's going to be some dancing up in here.

Looking momentarily at Jeremy, he nods. "Watch this, it's not hard. See if you can keep up." Step-step-step--SWAY, step-step-step--SWAY. Hips rotate, arms come up in the internationally recognised 'Thriller' pose. Okay, so he has the advantage of his tail, and the fact that he's literally bouncing on his toes, swaying his hips a bit more than a human might be capable of... but it's the start of a routine, of an actual, honest to goodness dance. And he's intent on luring as many people to the dance floor as he can.

Aegis has posed:
Xio was in for another surprise. Sam Guthrie was their go-to-grown-up on the New Mutants. As such, she viewed him as all teachers. Thus, he was boring. And an authority figure. Both things that held little appeal in Xio's life.

She was out there each step perfect from the video. Or maybe those prison videos. Either way, she knew the dance as did her buddy Indi and apparently a few people.

But when the knight joined them on the floor, Xio laughed happily, "You go, teach!" More people were filing in and adding to the ranks of monsters. Which only made it more perfect.

Nightingale has posed:
Okay, maybe Indira wasn't the only one squealing with glee at the whole thing. Even Shannon is giggling and twirling about, her light, flowing cape and skirts twirling about her feet as she whirls, falling into step for the dance. Tabitha isn't allowed to remain a wallflower for very long, the winged girl waving over at her and grinning. "Hey, Tabby!" she calls out, laughing. "Come on, you helped put this thing together, now come help enjoy it!"

Nope. Nobody who helped is going to escape being called out. Not by any stretch of the imagination!

Grinning at Jax, she nudges him. "Don't be shy," she tells him. "Why not just go say hi to Dazzler when this is all done? Told you, she's a total sweetheart!"

But then... the dancing! There was no denying it! There was a beat thrumming through the air, the kind that gets into one's very /soul/. And there was no way she was going to ignore it, giving the dance routine Jax was outlining a try.

Giggling, she claps with pure delight, giving Sam a thumbs up. "You go, big bro! Woot!" Go-to grownup on the New Mutants or not, fam was fam.

Speaking of which, she grinned at Warpath, too. "Oh come on, shik'isn," she teased him. "Come join the fun? Just for a little while?"

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn oohs and claps her hands, impressed at the new guy's moves. "Nice! Love the costume too! " she has to wonder if the cat fur is part of it but you never know. And then there's Little Red Riding hood and she smiles at her, "Ooh, so cute!"

Tabitha is given a thumbs up, but as the music changes to one of her favourite Halloween numbers, her eyes brighten and she twirls towards the dance floor, nodding and smiling to Xio and Indi on the way, "So pretty! Let's see how well you can dance!" she chirps as she joins them on the dance floor, moving to the beat in her best attempt at a zombie dance. She should have practiced more, darnit!

SpyderByte has posed:
As he is herded to the dance floor by Jax like a sheep, Jeremy gives a bit of a surprised flail. He's never been at a dance before. He was planning on just wall flowering all night and lurking behind the bleachers or something to fiddle with his phone once the excitement picked up.

Blushing as he watches Jax move, he starts to follow suit as best he can. He looks like an awkward puppet on herky jerky strings. He also has no clue what to do with his hands. This is nothing like Dance Dance Revolution.

<< I AM TRYING. >> The phone's voice rings out loudly.

He definitely doesn't know how to dance with someone, but he looks to be having a good time as he grins. He sways with him, lifting his hands up left to right like the zombies do. Rawr. His feet though are a hot mess.

Watching Indi and Xio dancing around them, he is just amazed at how easy they make it look.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie continues with the dance a few moments, but does step away letting the younger ones take the dance floor. He smiles a bit watching them and moves to get a punch. He watches them dancing and having fun and seems truly happy for them.

Dazzler has posed:
Dazzler works through the verses, nailing both the choreography and also doing a pretty good job on the lyrics. For a blonde woman, that is.

Then the band disappears, covered over by the holo of an animating graveyard that could've been lifted straight from the video. Dazzler lowers her voice and starts in with the Vincent Price narrative:

"Darkness falls across the land. The midnight hour is close at hand."

"Creatures crawl in search of blood, to terrorize your neighborhood."

"And whosoever shall be found, without the soul for getting down must stand and face the hounds of Hell, and rot inside a corpse?s shell."

"The foulest stench is in the air, the funk of forty thousand years. And grisly ghouls from every room, are closing in to seal your doom."

"And though you fight to stay alive, your body starts to shiver. For no mere mortal can resist, the evil of the THRILLER!"

Blackness again.

"C'MON EVERYONE! YOU KNOW HOW THIS GOES!" Dazzler calls out loudly.

The funky music starts up again, right along with Dazzler doing the Thriller Dance from the video.

Siphon has posed:
The bulk of the crowd moving towards the dance floor makes it a bit easier for Tabitha to mentally deal with the chaos. She doesn't join the dancing, but instead moves across the room to approach Warpath. He's one of the two people in the room she knows will get a little extra kick from the second part of her costume. Walking up to him she reaches under the cloth in her basket and pulls out a bright yellow lemon which she reaches out to hand to him with a big not-so-innocent grin. Then she lifts the cover off of her nametag, which reads:

    Hello! My name is: LIFE.

Ted Gammage has posed:
Late, as usual, Ted mostly just peeks thorugh the door. He wasn't sure about if it was costume or if it wasn't, or if folks would wear them even if they were encouraged to, so he's donned the outfit of a captain of a short lived space western. He had most of the items already, brown coat, jeans, westerny shirt, cowboy hat and boots. He had to buy some costume guns, but that's about the whole of it. He sees lots of dancing and wrinkles his nose just a bit, scooting around the outside to be cool and just watch. Oh, and also not accidentally break someone. That's important too.

Jax Miller has posed:
"Doing great!" Yup, this is positive Jax again, encouraging people to dance in general, and Jeremy in specific. Slowly the routine he's showing off gets more complex... luckily feet are disappearing into the fog, and nobody is going to care if a few steps are missed, but he hopes that by the end of the song he'll have the whole floor swaying in the same choreography.

And yes, when everyone is being encouraged, he starts belting out 'Thriller' as he dances, including the typical Jackson hoots.

Warpath has posed:
A shake of his head and Jimmy tells Shannon,"I think you all want to survive the dancing. I am almost as dangerous trying to dance as I am fighting shik'isn. Maybe next time." He moves his eyes towards Tabitha and raises a brow when she offers the lemon. He takes it and in a rare moment of surprised laughter only lasts a few seconds, but probably catches everyone off guard,"Nice."

SpyderByte has posed:
Though he gets a bit better, Jeremy is hardly a match for Jax's more skilled and sweet moves. At least the fog is now covering up a ton of the awkward movements, as well as possibly stepping on the cat boy's foot! Wincing, he gives him a sympathetic look.

When his new friend starts belting out the lyrics, he can't help but give a bit of a giggle at the enthusiasm. His phone also chimes in to sing along. At least he can't be off-key when it's digitally enhanced! Though his real voice would be a stammering hot-mess.

He sways and bumps about with the song, grinning all the while.

Nightingale has posed:
Well, if Warpath wouldn't dance, maybe Ted would! Shannon waves over to him, doing a twirling little step in that flowing blue Daenerys dress of hers. "Hey, Ted! Glad you could make it! Come on over and join us?" She motions to Jax, grinning. "Come meet Jax, he just got here yesterday!"

Dazzler's call to the crowd has her shouting "THRILLER!" right along with the rest. Okay, her dancing wasn't in step with everyone else, not entirely. But then again, so long as everyone was having fun, was that really such a bad thing?

Tabby's costume gets a giggle from her, and a thumbs up. "When Life gives you lemons...!"

Xio's costume has the winged teen puzzled, but she grins as she watches her dance. "Holy hell, you are good! I kind of feel a little dumb, but what costume is that? It looks pretty awesome!"

Giggling, she shoulder-bumps Jeremy lightly, giving him a thumbs up. "Hey, you're doing pretty good there! You dance way better than I do!"

Dazzler has posed:
And so goes Thriller, straight from the video with Dazzler flickering holo images of dancing zombies right there out on the floor. The music is definitely loud enough for her to siphon off enough power for the light show, after all.

The zombie dance plays on. Stomp-stomp-sliiiiide. Stomp-stomp-sliiiiide.

Stomp-stomp-stomp-stomp all around in a circle they go, led by the blonde in the 80's red leather.

It's a looooong song, but all good things must come to an end. The music stops after those final, abrupt chords and the echo of Vincent Price's (recorded) sinister laughter fills the room.

Dying out.

Slowly.

The room goes black again, and (relatively) quiet.

Then Dazzler calls out in a loud, amplified voice.

"ONE! TWO! ONETWOTHREEFOUR!"

Light returns as the band kicks off a Dazzler classic, albeit with a makeover. In a mix of straight-ahead Rock fused with Country.

Ted Gammage has posed:
While Ted doesn't seem particularly sure about dancing, he does ease over a little bit toward the familar group. "Err, how y'all doin'?" he murmurs in a tone that is both similar to how the character speaks, but basically how he talks anyway. As he's introduced to Jax, he tips his hat lightly, "Good t'meetcha,"

Jax Miller has posed:
Step-step-BOUNCE-step-step. "And exit stage left..." Jax whispers as he passes Jeremy, extending one of the cycles of the dance routine to take him clear of the dance floor just as the new song begins. Because he loves to dance, loves to be active, but ... well, in short bursts. And it lets him say hello to the other figure he saw coming in earlier, recognising the costume. "Captain Reynolds. Pleasure to meet you." A hand is extended, perhaps unwisely, but when you're dressed up like Freddy Mercury, you are obliged to do everything with a bit of bounce and flourish.

Faraday has posed:
Indira the Nagi dances as athletically as the snake she's dressed as. Which is to say *athletic*. She's no ballerina of precision and grace, but she could probably dance all night like a champ.

"Ted!" She bellows over the music. "There you are. Get over here and sway in place with us while we dance." It's a tease, but she doesn't seem to care who's dancing and who's wiggling in place, so long as the gang's all there.

She slows to catch her breath between songs, but as the next one starts she's switching up her pace to a more freeform style. "Why do schools not have dances more often? This is way better than dodgeball, and leaves my face prettier for sure."

SpyderByte has posed:
When Thriller comes to an end, Jeremy is wheezing a bit as he stops moving. He was an awkward flailing mess, but he was having a great time. He 'almost' got some of the moves right. When Jax whispers to him, his cheeks flush a bit with a grin on his face, turning his head to watch him head off before he rocks a bit side to side again.

<< Hi Ted! >>

He is dressed up as Neo from The Matrix. His phone is strapped high to his arm to communicate easier over the music. << The whole team is here now. >>

He is rather pleased to be surrounded by his friends. He gives a glance over to Shannon, continuing to sway a bit side to side even though the music is that fusion of country-rock and has enough wild grit to get the blood flowing.

<< I still prefer dodgeball. I never get picked for it >> He says to Indi with a wild grin.

Aegis has posed:
"I like dodgeball now. I hated it when I was a kid," Xio admits. "Now I just block them. Which gets me kicked out. Which is even better." Thank Dios that she had shield powers!

At the question from Shannon, she continue to sway a bit but focuses on conversation for the moment. "Sombra. She's a character from the Overwatch video game. Kind of obscure but she was one of those Latina characters that was awesome so I kind of got familiar with her. For that and some other reasons." She doesn't get into those. Not yet anyway.

Nightingale has posed:
"Well, that explains why I had no idea who it was," Shannon replies to Xio, with a sheepish grin. "I've never played Overwatch." Le gasp!

Glancing over at Jeremy, she twirls about and dances over his way. Certainly she's no ballerina, nor is she ready for an extras spot in a new Thriller video, but she does an okay job of keeping in step with the mansion's resident technopath, grinning at him. "You're better at dancing than you give yourself credit for," she says.

The talk of dodgeball has Shannon giggling, and shaking her head. "I suck at dodgeball. So you two are one up on me, for sure." To Indi, she smiles, dipping her head. "That's a fantastic costume. Must've taken ages to put together!"

Ted Gammage has posed:
Ted just blinks a few times as folks slip back off to start dancing. He does shake the offered hand, though it's with great care as he's still slightly worried about the whole injuring someone. "Good t'meetcha. Hope y'like it here." He looks to the others, "M' gonna go stand against th' wall and look awkward fer a while."

Siphon has posed:
Tabitha giggles as she hands over the lemon to the homicidal maniac. "Enjoy!" Then she moves on around the room doing what life tends to do and generally being as adorable as possible. She makes certain to give Shannon her own lemon as well. "Fresh from the labrynth!" The dance floor she avoids as much as she can. The room was already crowded to her and the dance floor seemed more like a mosh pit to her mind with everyone in it larger than her, some to a massive degree.

Jax Miller has posed:
"If you insist." Jax grins. And when a cat grins, you know they're grinning. "Or you could stand against the wall, looking like you're observing the party, one thumb hooked in your gun belt, just waiting for an excuse to haul off and deck a noble. Y'know, like a proper shindig." With a wink, Jax meanders away, towards the punch bowl. The inside of his ears have started to shade a bit darker red, a sure sign that he's once again regretting the inability to sweat.

SpyderByte has posed:
<< I am not a good dancer. I am just kinda wiggling my arms about and trying not to trip over my feet. Jax was helping me out a lot. >>

Jeremy gives a wave towards his new cat friend, grinning.

<< I know who Sombra is. She is the best hero in Overwatch. She is the latina computer hacker! She always has dirt on someone and she uses it to manipulate her targets around her playing field. >>

<< TED COME OVER HERE! >>

He won't let the Southern cowboy escape! He gives a wave to Tabitha and her lemons as he continues to wiggle-wobble dance with Shannon awkwardly a bit. He just really has no clue what to do with his hands! They kind of make an awkward dice rolling motion.

Warpath has posed:
Looking at the lemon for a moment, Jimmy shakes his head. Still amused. So much for impossible. His amusement fades a little and he takes out his phone, studying it a moment. No rest for the wicked so they say. He puts the phone away and starts out of the room. If he catches Shannon's eye he will nod her way and otherwise make his exit.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon just gigglesnorts at Tabby, pulling the other girl into a brief hug. "I'm never looking at lemons the same way again. You know that, right?" She shakes her head, laughing as she looks down at the lemon in her hand. "Thanks. This'll go in my tea tonight."

Lightly shoulder-bumping Jeremy, Shannon smiles, her cheeks a bit pink. "Well, I don't think you're doing too badly," she replies, moving to keep pace with his steps. "Worst case, we can always play a little Minecraft later?"

Warpath's exit gets a nod and a smile, and a rueful chuckle from the winged teen. "Goodnight, shik'isn." No rest for the wicked, indeed. At least it was someone /else/ likely getting into trouble this time!

A flushed tone on anybody's face was bad enough, where a lot of physical movement was involved. But on a cat, it was harder to tell if something was wrong. However, when Jax headed off towards the punch bowl, she furrows her brows, a little uncertain. "You okay there, Jax?"

Jax Miller has posed:
"Yeah, just a bit warm, don't worry 'bout me. I'll be right back once I've cooled down." Honestly, there's a lot of people, and his ability to get rid of body heat is somewhat limited. Excitement, activity and, yes, a bit of well disguised nerves is conspiring to keep Jax sidelined for a moment, filling a cup with punch and letting the cool liquid run over his tongue. Ahhhh, bliss.

Dazzler has posed:
Dazzler and the boys work through some of her standards, albeit with that Country-Rock twist. It's up-beat and easy to dance to. More especially it's hard to NOT dance to. Somewhere between songs she loses the red leather jacket with the ridiculous shoulder, showing off a white blouse with a country fringe (in red) along the seams beneath.

She'll kick it pretty solid for the night, enhanced physiology helping but also riding all the sound energy of the music and the dance.

Faraday has posed:
"There's an Indian woman in the game too. Least they got some diversity in their characters, though I haven't played that in years." Indira says as she keeps up a steady dance, though more grooving now to make it easier to actually talk without blowing out all of her breathe. "Maybe I'll pick it back up, we can all do a few rounds and probably embarrass ourselves. Well, 'cept Jer."

"Ya know, I think Jax has the right idea. Snack break!" She declares as she shimmies her way over to the sidelines to grab herself a drink and something quick to nibble. She does not sit, however. Nope. She's still standing there swaying and bouncing her head. It's probably unlikely she'll stop moving until she burns herself, which is a challenge when you're the real life Energizer Bunny.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods to the students as they are hitting the refreshments, and yes, he does watch to make sure the punch is not spiked.

SpyderByte has posed:
As it appears everyone is going to grab snacks, Jeremy stops wiggling and lets out a loud breath. He can't keep this up forever! He's not as flexible as his friends when it comes to moving around.

<< You are talking about Symmetra. She is also really cool. >> He says to Indira.

As he passes a look to Xiomara, he gives her a big grin, glancing over at times towards Dazzler and the Blue Pirates band. He starts over towards the snack table with the others, searching for a glass of punch to drown his sorrows in.

He also gives Freddy Mercury a bump to the shoulder. << You are a great dancer. Thank you for helping me. >>

Ted Gammage has posed:
Having seeming to made his escape without too much trouble, and probably not hearing Jeremy over all the various music and whatnot, Ted's made his way to the food table as well, but everyone else seems to have had the same idea so he again looms behind everyone, rubbing the back of his head and deciding this is basically as awkward and weird as he thought it might be.

Aegis has posed:
Following suit, Xio follows the others over to get some snacks. As Jeremy glances toward the band, she gives a little shrug and does a movement with her hands that looks like she's breaking something. In other words, not until they take a break.

"Hola, Ted," she calls in greeting to the uncomfortable one. Then she goes back to the Overwatch conversation. "Haven't played in years myself. But it is a costume I've used repeatedly. I finally have it complete this year."

Jax Miller has posed:
"Eh, a lot of things that seem hard are really just a matter of practice and, y'know, getting started." Jax shrugs, on his second cup of punch already and looking better for it. "Where you end up stalling is just a matter of hitting your own limits, and those don't mean anything once you start moving them. Basically, you can do anything you want to do, just not necessarily as good as some of people who are really amazingly good at it.

Slrrp. Made sense? Here endeth the sermon of positivity.

"So, this school is officially amazeballs."

Siphon has posed:
Wherever the bulk of the crowd goes, Tabitha tries to avoid or at least stay to the edges. Her concern of getting trampled making itself known. The snacks don't really call to her tonight in any case. In a manner very similar to Dazzler the music, lights, and body heat of so many in the room is getting taken in by her aura. It's giving her plenty of energy to keep going although not so much that it's triggered her 'living copper statue' look. Just as well. It would ruin the costume.

Nightingale has posed:
With everyone else heading over to the snacks table, it seems Shannon was heading that way as well. She pauses by Ted, smiling and leaning over for a brief hug. "Hey there... glad you could make it! Wouldn't be the same without everyone here."

Xio's gesture gets a confused look from her, and she shrugs. Whatever would be, would be! Though given the crowd, well, anything could and probably would happen!

Jax gets a smile, and she bobs her head. "Isn't it though? And you've only been here a day. Give it a few weeks, you'll be surprised at half the stuff you wind up seeing."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smirks listening in a bit and says "Hey We are doing good, we aint had a volcano in the rec room for a good couple years." He looks over and says "Seriously though she is right, life around here, well you will see things you may never have dreamed of.

Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee is hungry. Dressed rather casually for a teacher in her trenchcoat over her top and shorts, she makes her way in looking for food.

Ted Gammage has posed:
At Shannon's bit of affection, Ted does smile, if lightly. "Ah am tryin'." he says. "But b'tween you an' me, ah'm not really a party sorta guy. Less so a dance one," He says letting out a deep breath. "But,y'know, m'here."

Aegis has posed:
After so many high energy songs, Dazzler and her band opt to take a break to get something to drink. Regular music is played from the speakers, allowing for the celebration to continue without any lapse in fun.

Xio glances over at Jeremy, giving him a brief nod. Then she walks back out to the now mostly empty dance floor. There she begins to sway a bit to the music then raises her hands up, folding them just so. Then she gives a wink over to her partner in crime.

She raises her voice, calling out in Spanish.

"¡Apagando las luces!"

Jax Miller has posed:
"You having fun though?" Jax asks, looking at Ted, seemingly quite sincere with the question. "If not, what can we do to help you have fun? C'mon, don't be shy, you're not gonna shock me. I've heard everything in Zanzibar." Yup, still in his Freddy Mercury persona. He's eyeing the stage as well, as if he's itching to grab a guitar and join in, but restraining himself for now.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie is dressed in chainmail, and looks over to Jubilee, and offers her a nod in greeting. He smirks, motions her over toward him and the kids "Come meet the new student Jubes."

SpyderByte has posed:
<< APAGANDO LAS LUCES! >>

The mechanical voice rings out from Jeremy's phone with the sound amplified. He was mid sip of his punch when he caught the look from Xiomara. He reaches behind him, tugging a hood out from beneath his trench coat and pulls it over his head.

There is a loud hum in the air as all the lights go out with a loud CLICK. The entire room is swamped in the darkness, with only those with enhanced vision able to see through it.

A few seconds tick by, then there is a flicker of black lights that turn on from the ceiling, causing quite a sight for the dancing latina girl for those who look over towards her.

And Jeremy? His face is now glowing from what was hidden blacklight ink on the surface of his skin. His shades have been removed and he is now painted in a Guy Fawkes that glows from beneath his dark hood.

It is the 5th of November after all.

He throws his hands out wide as if to embrace the dark, looking back over towards his partner in crime.

Siphon has posed:
Tiny Tabby slips over next to Jax, "Yep. Can't go on expectations here. Too much chaos and excellent weirdness." Tabitha grins at Shannon before continuing deadpan. "You should ask about the upcoming school field trip to Atlantis." She does a little brow-waggle then hands Jax his Life Lemon. "Here. Happy Birthday."

The lights going out catch her off guard. The room looks very different to her when the primary sensory input is body heat. Then the black lights kick in and she lets out a breath while looking very confused at Jeremy. "Um... what?"

Nightingale has posed:
While Jubilee might have come in looking for food, what she winds up finding is a dance in progress. Spiderwebs are hung up everywhere, with plastic representations of their arachnid residents hanging amongst the silken strands. Faux gravestones made of foam cut and finished to look like carved rock bedeck the room, and even Storm has gotten in on the fun by bringing her abilities to bear in the form of an eerie mist that covers the ground. Students and staff alike are all dressed in some form of costume, an extension of the Halloween recently past.

Over by the food table, several of the students seem to have gathered. There's a feline dressed as Freddie Mercury, an angel-winged girl dressed up in a very flowing blue and gold dress that looks like something belonging on Daenerys Targaryen, a particularly tall, rather imposing student dressed as a space cowboy, another dressed as Neo from The Matrix, and so many more.

There's a naga, a character from Overwatch, a knight in shining chainmail, a variation on Little Red Riding Hood with a nametag reading 'Life', carrying a basket of lemons.

     So. Many. Costumes.

Shannon glances over at Ted, chuckling. "Believe it or not, I'm not a party person, either. This is a first." Another hug is given, /just/ as the lights go out--and the UV lights come up. Grinning, she applauds, cheering Xio and Jeremy on with their costumes. "Nicely done!!!"

Faraday has posed:
Indira took a few minutes out of the chaos to refuel on perfectly minor legal punch and snacks, though she seems disinclined to waste much time doing that when there's still a Halloween Homecoming dance to enjoy. Lucky for her, it seems her roommate isn't wasting time either.

She looks over towards Xiomara as she takes to the floor and a widening grin crosses her face. "...oooo-ho, now the party is *really* getting started." When the teachers begin to fade away, the kids come out to play.

In the darkness of the room, the electric gleam behind her eyes shows. Then the UV lighting kicks in. While most of her remains dark, the pale mark of the cobra's hood glows at the back of her hooded head. As if eager to join in the light show, she pulls some of her own power to the surface and the branching arteries and veins along the undersides of her exposed arms begin to glow electric violet-white, the natural pattern mimicking the lightning she can call. She'd look formidable, but there's a tiny and over-enthusiastic, "Eeeeeeee!" coming from her. Completely ruins the effect.

Aegis has posed:
On the floor, Sombra is revealed in all her glory. For everyone had only seen half the costume. The portion that was visible in normal light. With the lack of that and the black lights providing illumination, the rest was revealed.

There was an eerie greenish yellow skeleton design on Xio's skin. Fingers, legs, arms, even the skull form on her face. It all fit the character and it fit the woman.

Most would assume it was UV paint. A few would recognize it for what it actually was. They may have realized it when she had done some art for Jeremy for his birthday. They were in fact all tattoos, made with UV ink.

Her voice fell as she gave a dark smile to the crowd. "¡La oscuridad te espera!"

She raised her hands, wiggling them at the others to come join her on the floor again as another cue was given to Jeremy. After all, she wasn't really Sombra. But for the first time, she could effectively play the role thanks to her technopath pal who could start the music again if he wished.

"¡Viva Los Muertos!"

Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee sighs when she realizes what's going on. "Oh right, was that tonight? Ah...." So, she hugs a wall, stays out of the way, and does her best to um, stay out of sight, out of mind, out of the way of the kids having their fun. Though, when the lighting changes, she might get a LITTLE attention. Lifting her sunglasses, lighting a little firework torch in hot pink, she keeps on walking. To the food table. "Having fun?" she asks those there, with a glance at the shouting and the excitement.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie 's body language changes as the lights go out, he is scanning the room. His body tensed, but at the glowing kids, he sighs and relaxes again. Yea Sam has been here long enough his first thought at the lights going out was who is attacking now. He sighs and will move a bit closer to Jubes, not wanting to have to hover for light.

SpyderByte has posed:
There is a shifting of Jeremy's eyes, a crackle of white noise as the speakers cut out, then is replaced by a growing hum, followed by a loud banging of Industrial dance. Rabbit Junk's: IDGAF. It's heavy hitting and upbeat. There's a wide grin from the young Goth as he starts for the dance floor, whipping his trench coat back behind him as he reaches into the folds to pull free a long cylinder device.

There is a hum around the device, followed by a lance of bright green light that shoots out of it. It's a light saber. Obviously not a real one. As he joins Xiomara, he gives the blade of light a spin about in his hands as he moves along with her back and forth in dance. They may have practiced this.

<< VIVA LOS MUERTOS! >>

Nightingale has posed:
There's an outright -SQUEE- from Shannon, clapping with utter delight. "The Force is strong with this one!" she calls out, laughing. This was just too much! Both Jeremy and Xiomara get loud whistles and a lot of clapping, for their costume choices, the timing, the whole ball 'o wax. "Ohhhh yeah. Now THIS is podracing!"

Faraday has posed:
Oh now they did it.

"THIS IS MY JAM! WOOO!" Indira's voice erupts from the crowd, complete with a whoop Ric Flair would be proud of. Her hands go up and there's a quick bzzzrt and arc of electricity that accidentally pops a nearby wall sconce into powdered oblivion. "....ohshit my bad. Sorry, sorry!" It wouldn't be a mutant party without a little property damage. Right?

And before anyone can try to kick her out, she's dashing for the dance floor and the protection of the masses to shield her. A busted light bulb isn't stopping her from dancing, not when her favorite song is on.

Ted Gammage has posed:
Ted's about to answer the questions posed to him when the light goes out "Thu heck," he says, tensing up a bit too. Again, party's not his scene, then music and all other sorts of stuff going on. "Ah," he says, with a soft 'whew' sound. Maybe he's hanging around too much, he thought something bad had happened as well.

Aegis has posed:
In a way it's pretty damn cool. The light effects. The dancing as they perform. She pushes a button to activate her own lights from the gloves and joins in the display that way. Pinkish purple for her. Green for his saber. Tied with the green of her tats and his mask.

Black lights would be effecting everyone of course. Their costumes giving off a glow, depending on their colors.

But it all boils down to? A bunch of geeks having fun. That's the real show here. She might be the criminal element here, an actual gang member those tats identify her as, yet in the moment she's a video game geek. Along with her pal Jeremy who is the sci-fi geek.

May the geeks forever rule!

As the music pumps the demonstration fades and they just become a bunch of kids dancing and partying again. When the time came, lights would return to normal so the actual performers could do their thing

Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee grabs some cookies, and gives a clap to folks, nodding as she then slips right back out so as not to be the teacher ruining the party!

Nightingale has posed:
Halloween might never truly end in a place like Xavier's. Geeks might rule the night (and day) in this weird, wonderful place so many have come to call 'home'. Nerd was the word. Weird was wonderful. But that was perfectly fine. It all just... worked, in the end, to create a fun, memorable night that would hopefully be remembered fondly by those present in the years to come.

And so, the dance went on....
