Profile

Some people just get a bad hand. June is one of them. She rebelled against a controlling mother, desperately wanting to be raised by her father, only for him to be murdered before it ever happened. Enraged at the world, she decided to buck the system in every way possible, eventually ending up with the Foot. She's a ninja. Maybe not a good one, but she doesn't need to be a good fighter to make a mess out of everything.

Description:

She looks like the kind of girl your mother warned you about. 5'6", a bit thinner than average, with a bright red head of hair and a streak of purple through it. Her hair is buzzed on the sides, leaving it longer only on top. A nose ring hangs between her nostrils, and there are three studs on either ear, with a small black gauge on the lobes. Her blue eyes look almost accusatory, and her pale skin seems to offend her style, soft and smooth, not fitting for someone who is dressed like a punker. A black Strokes T-shirt hugs her torso, and she's clearly not one to have much to show in her chest.

Her tight jeans are held up by a spiked black leather belt, and tears are visible all through the dark blue material, exposing gray stockings beneath. Her feet complete the ensemble with black Converse shoes.

History:

June Connor was born to Meredith and Jordan Parker. It wasn't a good time in their relationship. They probably shouldn't have had a child at that point. Meredith had extreme anxiety issues, and took it out on her husband. Shortly after June was born, Meredith kicked Jordan out of the house, deciding that he was a threat to their child. All of this was nonsense, but it started June down a path early that would forever affect her world.

Jordan was actually a very gentle man, but as the divorce wore on, he became more and more distraught. Accusations of violence and made up stories destroyed his reputation, and he was kept out of June's life except on rare occasions that her mother granted a few hours. As she grew, she realized the truth, but the courts didn't care. Her father was driven out of his job, ended up in poverty, living on the wrong side of town. He tried to keep integrity, and June admired him, constantly promising that as soon as she was old enough, she would make a motion to come live with him instead of her increasingly paranoid and controlling mother.

It never happened. When she was ten, Jordan was murdered over twelve dollars in his wallet. The system had failed June, and she decided then that she would never trust the government again. To spite her controlling mother, June became as rebellious as she could. She joined gangs, she was promiscuous, she committed crimes. By the time she was thirteen she had a very adult level criminal record, and she was proud of it. Her mother forced her to go to counseling to 'fix' her. She fixed that by attacking every counselor she was forced to see, effectively ending their counseling. This landed her in juvenile hall, and only further hardened her.

She was out a year later, and ran away from home just shy of turning fifteen. She shacked up with any guy she could to find a place to stay, bouncing from one abusive lover to another. It was when she was seventeen that she heard about the Family. It was a safe place for teens who wanted to stay off the radar. A place where they weren't told what to do. A man who called himself the Shredder owned it. She tried it out, and sure enough, she couldn't rebel there because there were no rules to rebel against. It was a delinquent paradise. Her criminal skills were put to good use, as well, and soon she was trained in the ways of ninjitsu.

When the Shredder was killed, his daughter took over. Most of the youth were devastated by the loss, but it only emboldened June. She had never met the Shredder in person, but she blamed the corrupt heroes and justice system for his death. She became a full fledged Foot soldier, and committed herself to their service.

Personality:

June portrays an image of a tough girl, someone who doesn't care about others. Unlike many who are hiding a fear and insecurity, June really means it. She has developed a thick skin, and she absolutely hates herself for it.

She wants to care about people, but she knows in the end of the day that she looks out for herself, because she genuinely is confident that no one else has her back, even if they want to. She believes that everyone else will save their own skin, and heroes only are heroes so that people will praise them or at least be impressed by them.

She knows that a lot of her suffering in her life has been at her own devices, and she doesn't have an ego that would prevent her from admitting it. She can't stand government, and she has no respect for the status quo, rebelling often not because she has something she wants, she just wants to stand against something. Does she want to be loved? Yes. She also realizes that she's bad news for anyone close to her, which makes her hesitant to enter into a truly genuine relationship, so she keeps her relationships skin deep.

June has learned through her martial training to focus her chi. She can use it to heal faster, increase her physical attacks slightly, or to slow her breathing and heart rate, and allow her to resist the elements a little better than the average person.

Assessment:
June often was assessing the status of the jobs she was pulling for the Foot, and is good at figuring out how to avoid detection and break through security at various levels with the lesser amounts of equipment. Where she is able to use computers efficiently, she often will choose to trespass using a low tech approach if she is able, finding the natural physical holes in a system, and defensively, able to prevent such holes from being present when she sets up surveillance or security for an area.

Computers:
June is a genius with computers, but she doesn't like telling anyone. She would love to be a computer programmer, and loves long strings of code. She's taught herself, so there are limitations to her skills, but she can figure out almost any problem if given the time to do it, despite what she lacks in education.

She's used these skills to become a fairly competent hacker, and scours the internet for ways that she can upset things that she believes are corrupt, her own personal superhero crusade online. She almost always does this by breaking laws.

Fleet of Foot:
June has no superspeed, but Foot ninjas are exceedingly adept at evasion and pursuit on foot. Whether it is a parkour style vaulting over obstacles and up buildings, or a flat out sprint down a straight path, her stamina and agility are trained specific for such maneuvers. Her history in the Foot focused in more acrobatic missions of theft than direct combat.

Ninjitsu:
June has been trained by the Foot clan under Karai. Her strongest skill is her stealth, and she has been able to evade detection of even highly trained professionals and surveillance systems. Her small frame lets her hide well, and her ability to remain quiet even when she is in a panic has served her well.
As a Foot ninja, she is also much tougher than your average street thug. She doesn't have the skills to keep up with most heroes for long. Still, she knows martial arts, and is trained in several forms of martial weapons.

Thief:

Picking locks, bypassing electronic security systems, lifting a wallet. This is what June does. This is why the Foot wanted to train her to do more. She's spent years honing the skills, and is nimble enough that she can usually even lift wallets off the very attentive, and since being trained as a ninja, she has learned to even do this to other ninjas and other pickpockets, people who should be able to detect her.
She is by nature also very hard to sneak up on, and even harder to steal from. She also is electronically savvy, and can usually short out an electronic lock if she can get at its circuits.

Street Contacts:
Through her street connections, June is able to make her way around and get things she needs even without the Foot Clan. She can secure fake IDs, support for a job, or other things that a street thug might want to accomplish.

Street Knowledge:

June knows a lot of people, few of them are above the blue line of justice. She usually knows what's happening on the street, what's happening in various gang politics, and can see shifts in power that are coming down the line. She knows how to talk, when to push back against a rough character and when to stand down. It's her world.

Angry:
While she usually hides it under a mask of apathy, June does most things in her life because she's angry. She is angry at the justice system for her father's fate. She's mad at her mom for what happened to her dad. She's mad at her fellow gang members for being jerks, she's mad at heroes for their self-righteousness, she's mad at herself for being mad about everything. It causes her to make foolish decisions that she knows she shouldn't make, and she will do foolish things despite her better judgment just to spite, all too willing to cut her nose off to spite her face.

Blood Oath:
For most affiliates of the Foot, falling away is not a big thing. However, June decided to take a blood oath to serve the Foot Clan. It was an impulsive decision, but the Foot does not take such things lightly. Betraying them means that her life is forfeit, and she will be hunted by them until she is dead. She made the mistake of breaking that Blood Oath, and saving someone she was supposed to kill. Because of this, she is now wanted by the Foot.

Criminal:
June has a rather long criminal record. Assault, theft, vandalism, wanton endangerment, the list goes on. As usually happens with such a reputation, it's hard to get a job that is legitimate when you have spent so much time doing things that are illegitimate. It's also hard to get the cooperation of the police if they think you are the bad guy when they start the conversation.

Unreliable:

In the end of the day, June does what is best for June. She will sell out her friends to save her neck. She will lie and cheat to stay off the bottom of the heap. It doesn't tend to build a lot of trust with others.
