Garfield Logan is the real name of a hero and once member of the Titans and the Doom Patrol. The adopted son of Steve Dayton, Gar is not at all shy about who he is. Being completely green doesn't help. Always preferring to joke around, he still gets down to business when it is needed to get things done!

Description:

At about 5'10" and 150 pounds, Beast Boy does not strike the most imposing figure in spite of a fit physique. He does immediately stand out, however, for the simple fact that his skin, hair and eyes are green. The skin itself is a lighter shade while his hair is darker, but there's no question it's definitely green. Features are fairly typical with a somewhat square jaw to go along with a nose, mouth, eyes and ears that appear proportionate, though the ears come to points instead of being rounded. His hair is cut short all around, thicker enough on top to be swept back and look a bit like fur in the process. A tooth sticks up from an underbite and it appears to be a fang.

He's in costume, its two main colors consisting of black and purple. Nearly a full bodysuit, only his head and forearms are visible, the material ending just before both elbows. Black dominates the arms and legs along with his sides, purple visible around the shoulders as well as down the front and back. Though his hands are bare, he wears purple boots that reach just above the ankles. The tongues are silver with a pair of black straps across them, soles black as well. A plain silver belt with a circular buckle is also worn, appearing to be made of metal. He has the look of someone who keeps himself in excellent shape, musculature good with no body fat.
Of course, at any given moment he might just be some kind of animal. Always green, though. Always green.

History

History:

When he was a small child, his family contracted sakutia. It's a little known disease, fatal because there's no known cure. That fact didn't stop the family from trying, and the family were all given the experimental drug, a serum of some kind. The family died, minus Garfield who survived... with side effects. He was green and could change himself into any animal he could think of. He was sad for a while before he found a surrogate family in the Doom Patrol. He hasn't forgotten his birth family, but he gained a new one and he figured his life was fuller for it. And that there are so many others out there who are much worse off than he is. So, he decided at a young age he would do something about it. He would always try to make people smile and laugh and not hurt. He worked as a child actor, specializing in animal roles (pet dying is a thing, he goes into make up like all the others). As he got older, and heroes became more and more common, he added his name to the ranks, because it's another way to help.

While in the Doom Patrol, Beast Boy grew up to not only care for others, but also have the support of others. He learned to allow himself to be helped. Something the young boy needed badly.

Gar to this day still accepts acting roles, along with assisting the Doom Patrol, The Titans, and any other group that could use his brand of humor and skills. He doesn't stay in one place, he goes where he is needed.

Personality:

The emotional scars of losing his family has made this young man project a carefree attitude. Easy smiles and jokes are the staple for Garfield, making anyone wonder if he had ever been touched by tragedy. The truth is that he has, and while it hurts he doesn't need anyone's sympathy, nor does he need to add to anyone else's sorrow. No. the tragedy made Garfield want to help others who had gone through the same thing, to help them overcome the same sadness he felt. The best way: Laughter.

Animal Empathy:
Gar has low-level psychic abilities that allow him to empathically sense animals, read their emotions. He can not alter their emotions, or project anything to them.

Animal Mimicry:
Beast Boy can copy the abilities of any animal he can transform into. Even when not shape-shifted into an animal, Beast Boy can impersonate the sounds they can make that fall within normal human hearing range flawlessly.

Animal Polymorph:

JK Rowling was on to something back in the day, with wizards and wizards who can assume animal forms. That's what I can do, only I'm not limited to one kind of animal. Heck! I'm not even limited to real animals. I can totally morph into mythical creatures too! (See IMDB: Pete's Dragon) They also dont have to be Earth animals. Xenofauna, alien as they might be, are fair game provided I know enough about the creature I'm shifting into. Size also doesn't matter when it comes to my transformations. A flea is just as easy as a blue whale; a unicorn as simple as a Targarrian something impronouncible to humans. I don't have a time limit either nor a set number of times I can shift nor do I have to go back to the human me before slipping into my next critter-self. I can talk like myself while shifted too. I have no idea how, so I'm invoking the power of script because it hurts my brain way less than trying to sort out if I'm doing a partial transformation to animal or of it's a full shift with a partial transformation of my vocal thingies to let me talk. It also hurts my head when I think about animals that have no lips. How would I even say my codename? Seriously, people! It's really easier to just invoke script, blame the writer, and move on with life. That's what I do. I'm a pretty happy guy, so it can't be bad at all. Especially since being able to talk as an animal is basically a career for me! It's a good thing I can let the animal effect the sound of my voice, if I want. can you imagine a dragon sounding like a squeaky teenager? Yeah no.

Acting:
Gar is a child actor, known mostly for animal roles. Some of these animal roles had speaking parts, so Gar knows how to project emotions which are understandable to humans through a variety of animal forms.

Animal Nerd:
Gar goes out of his way to learn about all manner of fauna. The more exotic the better. Yes, binge watching Animal Planet is a thing he does, often shape shifting into whatever animal is on screen as he's doing so. And yes, it means he knows tons of useful and not so useful animal facts.

Impersonation:
Thank you, lyrebird. Gar is a fairly competent impersonator of voices. From Popeye and Bugs Bunny to Celine Dion, there are few voices that with practice Gar can't make a reasonable facsimilie of. If he focused on it, he likely could fool even close family and friends.

Movie Stunts:
Gar does all his own stunts for the movies, as animals (sometimes himself). He is well versed in using animal forms for 'action' sequences in front of the camera or an audience.

Social Media:

Because he doesn't always have professional representation, Gar is proficient at marketing himself via Social Media, and he maintains the usual range of 'professional' social media accounts. @BeastBoy #LikeAnAnimal

Foster Family:
After the death of his parents, Garfield was adopted by a really wonderful family that helped him through a lot of things. They are there when he needs them and helped him set up the things he needed when he was a minor for his acting career. As far as families go, Gar won the jackpot; twice!

He's not besties with A-listers, but he knows some people in the business if it is ever needed.

Royalties:
Garfield was fortunate that the man that took him in after the death of his family, helped him set up finances in a way that would allow him the ability to grow it or use it to move his life in a direction of his choosing. The money from his early film credits were deposited untouched and give him a nice monthly stipend to live from between gigs, whose money gets added into the checking out.

Animal Instincts:
In order to use the abilities of the animal he has shape shifted into, Gar needs to let the instincts of the creature take control now and then. The drawback is that creatures with very strong instincts or if he had to stay in any one animal's shape for too long finds Gar with some interesting instincts when he returns to his real shape. The instincts of these animals lingers for a few hours to days.

Distinctive Appearance:
Gar is green from the tips of his ears to the ends of his toenails, from fingertip to fingertip, everything about Gar is a shade of green. Even when shape-shifted into some sort of animal, Gar is still green. You could say he is super green. Ruby Rod was hilarous! Fifth Element was a great movie!

He survived the illness and shortly there after began his acting career, making use of his ability to shape-shift into various animals.
