Lois Lane is a reporter for the Daily Planet. Her name is well known throughout the news, reporting and internet venues. She tends to have a nose for trouble and while she manages to get into trouble, she also manages to find a way out of it. And with /the/ story of it too. Her investigative journalism has won her a Pulitzer Prize, twice, for articles and stories she's written. However, just because she's won the Pulitzer Prize doesn't mean she's resting upon her laurels. No, instead, she's always looking for that next scoop, the next story, the next injustice to shine light upon.

Lois Lane, Ace Reporter of the Daily Planet, isn't a tall woman. She tops at 5'6", more should she wear heels, which she often does. Her physique is lithe, of someone who works out regularly, perhaps not fanatically, but definitely regularly. Her features are quite pretty, with long auburn hair that frames an oval face, blue eyes and a definite stubborn set to her mouth and tilt of her chin. Her hair falls several inches past her shoulders and is typically styled in a loose manner.

Today, Lois is dressed for on the job reporting. She sports a light cream pantsuit. The pantsuit has a jacket, white silk blouse beneath it and matching cream pants. The only splash of colors are her belt, pumps and lanyard. All of those items sport a contrasting black color. The lanyard holds her press credentials, which shows the logo of the Daily Planet, along with her picture and name. Often times she sports a small purse, which typically holds her smart phone (with recorder), pencil, pens and small notepad.

Lois Lane is a Pulitzer Prize winning ivestigative journalist that works for the Daily Planet in Metropolis. She was born to Ella and Sam Lane in at Ramstein Air Base in Germany and was a bit of an Army Brat growing up. Her dad is a former US Army General and has taught her a myriad of self defense tactics as well as how to use firearms. She has a younger sister by the name of Lucy Lane. She is one of the best investigative journalists in the world at the moment, but she doesn't make it a habit to be uptight about it or gloat on it. She's always trying to find a new story to go after or something else to investigate.

Laid back and easy to work with are some words that are used to describe Lois. Vivacious and stubborn are also some other words that are good descriptors for the journalist. She's been one of the top journalist for a long while and it's not something that's came easily. She's hard working and she goes after her stories to a point that's a bit fanatical.

INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM
Lois' bread and butter - she's the girl who's good at connecting the dots, or seeing connections others don't. This is what she does best writing and investigating the stories that need to be written about. She can use a variety of means to help her with both her investigation and her journalism. She will research via computers, the internet, libraries and even archived news articles. She'll call sources and leads and follow-up with eye-witnesses to glean all the clues she can. She'll also use The Daily Planet's resources to help her, including running background checks if needed. Her writing is similar; she'll jot down her notes, research and refine and then polish.

LANGUAGES
Lois has learned a variety of phrases in several languages. She has a smattering of French, German, Russian and Spanish phrases that typically get her to where she needs to be.

LOCK PICKING
Don't tell anyone, but Lois can pick locks and do simple to general B&E. It's a skill she learned early in her career to gain access to documents and other evidence that was behind lock and key. She's best against your typical tumbler style lock. The more electronic based system are a hindrance to her; though she can try to randomly button smash to see if that miraculously opens it. Generally she keeps her small case of lock picking tools in her purse.

MARKSMANSHIP
Lois' father taught Lois how to handle, clean and shoot a variety of guns. She's proficient with handguns and rifles and is an excellent shot when she has time to set-up a shot. When it comes to off the cuff shooting, her marksmanship falls to average to above average. It just depends upon the situation and what's happening at the time of her shot.

PHOTOGRAPHY

While the majority of Lois' skills are centered around investigation and writing, she does have the beginnings of the photography skill. There are others that are WAY better than she, but in a pinch, she can take a quick shot that could potentially be used with her articles. Mostly she uses this skill to snap pictures of secretive documents that shouldn't see the light of day.

SELF-DEFENSE

Lois was trained in a variety of combat techniques by her father. When she became an investigative reporter she continued training in the self-defense arts. Her style typically runs along the lines of hitting fast and hard and then escaping. There's definitely a mixture of various martial arts along with a healthy dose of brawling. She is by no means a professional fighter, but she can typically keep herself alive against the general riff-raff upon the streets and not require too much help.

Lois has a wealth of personal and professional contacts. This means if she's looking for someone, or something, or information, she has the potential to find it. Some of these contacts are very secretive and will only contact her, versus her being able to contact them. She tries to protect all her sources as she feels a personal responsibility for each and every one.

FATHER
Lois is much like her father, stubborn and at times this has caused their relationship to be strained. Still, even if the two are at odds that doesn't mean she couldn't reach out to her father for help, if need be. The same could be said for him, as well, even if the two are quite pig-headed.

THE DAILY PLANET

Lois is a report for The Daily Planet. This affords her a comfortable salary, as well as active reporter's credentials and access to information that filters into The Daily Planet. Her salary is mostly banked and because of this, Lois has a small nest egg that allows her to live comfortably. Her reporter's credentials typically gets her into places she shouldn't be, and lastly, she has access to the majority of information held within The Daily Planet's archives.

CAN'T HELP HERSELF
When Lois sees a story, even a glimmer of one, she goes at it like a shark does a meal; all teeth and aggression. This often means she tends to get into trouble. In her mind the story, not the trouble, is what she's most concerned with. It also doesn't help when people tell her /not/ to do something. As soon as Lois Lane is told /not/ to do something, she does the complete opposite.

ENEMIES

Lois Lane is a Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalist. This means her stories are all about what's wrong with the world and revealing those secrets to the light; including secrets from the criminal element and various governments. As such, she's earned a few enemies thanks to her time at The Daily Planet. She's also acquired a few stalkers, as well, most public figures do and Lois is no different in that regards.
