Kaelyn is the owner/operator of a new age/occult store. She sells books, charms, incense etc. to the populace as a whole, and in the back she makes artificed items, potions, and generally sells supplies to those of the magic persuasion.

AGE

Kae's a Mage, her use of magic grants her a much longer lifespan than that of a normal human. Some mages live a couple hundred or many hundreds of years. Luckily Kae isn't at that point. She also maintains a youthful appearance and doesn't age physically the way some folks do. She will maybe one day die of old age, she just won't show said old age.

ARCANE SENSES Kae can see, detect, sense arcane energies the way they flow and move. She can sometimes even see a spell as it's being formed and diagnose it on the fly. Obviously distances, blockages, and other environmental happenings can hinder her ability to evaluate a spell or magical item.

ARTIFICING Kae is a magical tool maker. She makes items that store magic to be used later, or useful items powered by magic. Some of these can be small constructs, like a golem, or a clockwork, or maybe a bracelet that stores spells for emergency or later use, or a focus that helps a mage cast magic easier. All these fall into the range and scope of Artificing.

Magitech-- This is a subset of Artificing Kae employs, she makes magical powered items that resemble say a modern cell phone, or a computer or some high tech trinket. These are in fact powered by a combination of magic and modern components, however these are in fact artifacts. A phone made by her might resemble a Samsung s10 or whatever number, but in fact would be used as storage for spells, maybe have a gateway to a storage space for some small tools the mage might need stored elsewhere, or maybe these magically powered technical items would allow for mages who destroy regular technology at a touch to have something like a cell-phone to be able to accept and make calls.

MAGIC Kae is a mage, She is a an Arcanist and Artificer by trade. However she is schooled in most schools of magic through her years of study. She is well schooled in in several magical disciplines, including thaumaturgy, and evocation, as well as several schools. Including enchanting, conjuration, transfiguration or transmutation, Illusion, Divination, and lastly something kind of unique to Kaelyn, counter-magic.

Thaumaturgy: Ritualistic magics, these spells require time, components, and large amount of research to execute. These are not meant to be cast quickly, and some spells can take days, weeks or even months to prepare and cast. They can also include healing spells for long term injuries, or even long term wards and travel spells

Evocation: These are spells with little direct lasting impact on the world and usually are cast in anger, or in defense. These include shielding spells, combat spells, quick healing, anything that can be cast quickly and in dire need. By far this is really the most taxing form of magic she employees. Common spells she uses are bolts of force, a magical command she employees that she calls 'still' this being a command that causes the victim to be instantly and harmlessly paralyzed. Lastly certain elemental magics, though taking longer than an instant often fall under this form of magic.

*Elemental Magics: As the name explains, these are either thaumaturgical or evocation spells that bend the elements around the Wizard. These elements oft include, Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and wind, and combinations of these elements, Air and Water to make ice, Fire and Air for Lightning, etcetera.

*Enchanting: This the act of imbuing spells and magical affects onto objects. Often these have limited duration or numbers of affects. By applying a spell and linking it to an object, a spell's affect can be moved, easily reproduced, or even lengthened. This takes time, and resources besides just the mage's inherent stamina.

*Conjuration: The act of using magic to pull something from some where to the wizard, or banishing, aka sending it back. This is a whole big list of purposes. Some wizards use this practice to call spirits and banish them. Some wizards use this skill to pull items to them selves, either teleporting them or levitating said item. Travel magic oft falls under this skillset, making doorways, windows, or just teleporting all can fall under here.

*Transfiguraiton: The art of changing things from one thing to the other. Most of the time these spell sets require time, and concentration. The Transfiguration school mostly falls into Thaumaturgy, but there are some small things a mage can do through evocation as well.

*Illusion: Just what it sounds, making something that appears there but is not. Big illusions can be created through thaumaturgy. Illusion is a wonderful school of magic to use with Evocation, it allows the wizard to use all manor of non-lethal means to defend them selves or others, or disguise things they don't want to be seen..

*Divination: Far seeing. The ability to find things through magic. This is one of Kae's priceless schools as she often uses Divination to help her find rare ingredients, people to help her use rare ingredients for potions, and of course reagents and parts for her artificing. Oft she uses this magic as a ritualistic spell, using a special silver bowl, and some distilled water. In a pinch she can use it to find things that are close by, or maybe help her find a clue she is looking for to solve a mystery.

*Counter-Magic: It's a form of magic Kae uses to literally disassemble another spell while it's being cast or shortly thereafter. It's something Kae is working on and learning to use, and has very limited uses. But, if one is able to unweave a spell one is able to understand it and better able to apply it to an item. Kae is not particularly great at this yet, she has to be aware the spell is being cast and have line of sight and knowledge of the type of magic to be able to possibly unweave it while it's cast.

COMPONENT ACQUIRER

Kae's good at finding and acquiring components for her spells and enchanted items on her own. She's very good at researching locations, people and well finding what she's looking for.

CREATIVE

Kae's to say the least extremely creative. She has to be to be able to adapt items to spells and vice versa. She's also very good at coming up with odd means to solve problems. In laymen's terms, in the magical world she is a bit of a MacGuyver what with the way she combines spells and enchantments.

INTELLIGENCE

Kae is very smart, in some areas genius level. She has a great mind for processing sciences, math and related skills, all this also falling in and extending to magic studies and the like.

INTUITIVE

Kae is quite intuitive. She can take information around her and come to good conclusions based on the feelings she gets from those things she observes.

MULTILINGUAL

Kae understands a few languages, Latin, Spanish, Italian, German, Greek, Japanese, as well as Mandarin and Cantonese. She also understands how to read a number of archaic languages as well, these all having been picked up in her studies of magics, as she's oft needed to collect or transcribe books in wildly different languages from the one she grew up with, that being English.

PILOTING

Kae is a trained and licensed small plane pilot. She has her prop-driven multi-engine certification. And she can fly a helicopter as well, another cert she decided to get on a whim.

PROGRAMMING

Kae has finished college and has learned how to program at a professional level. While she can make a living at IT work, she has learned how to adapt that science to storing magical spells.

THE OCCULT

As part of her education, Kae has had to learn about the occult, and interdimensional entities. As her learning goes though, she is no expert, but she does have moderate knowledge on extra dimensional entities.

TINKER-INVENTOR

Kae is a tinker as some might call in a magical setting, or an inventor. She oft uses her knowledge of engineering and magic to create useful items for her self or other people.

BACKPACK

It's what one might expect from one such as her. It has a direct link to her storage places and can bridge through time and space so she can reach into them. Also, it can act, in a pinch, as a gateway back home. She just has to climb into it, close the flap and then use her ring to bring it back to her to make sure others can't follow. The backpack, for travel purposes is linked to her home and only allows her to travel home, theoretically she could allow others to travel through it. When folks without her permission try to access the back it just appears to be a backpack, it has a laptop, notes, and other odds and ends one might expect a woman like her to have in there. Including a nice novel or two.

BELT BUCKLE

The Beltbuckle she commonly wears stores a finely made warhammer. The Warhammer also doubles as a focus for force-based magics.

BRACELETS

Kae has a number of bracelets, most are magicked in some way. 
---Shield Bracelet---
One such bracelet has a trio of defensive wards which she can cast from the bracelet, or will auto deploy to keep her from being blind sided. These wards are 2 way, IE she can't launch direct attacks outside these wards. They can absorb smaller physical or arcane attacks and stay up, but large attacks will generally cause the ward to fail after it has protected the person the ward is cast for, generally they won't let much if any damage through to the person being warded. 
--- Magic storage: She keeps some extra magical energy in one of her cabachons. It's enough to give her a bit of a recharge when in an extended engagement and possibly allow her to extend the fight long enough to escape. She also uses it to help her cast larger spells without a lot of physical backlash. Once drained it has to be recharged.

---Healing Bracelet---

One item stores a healing spell, this can be used once on the power from the bracelet, then Kae has to channel her magic through it to quickly heal her self or others. 

---Focus Bracelet--- This bracelet she often wears acts as a focus for her combat casting. It makes her evocation spells operate much more efficiently, without draining the caster quite as quickly. This is just a focus, it really doesn't do much without a mage powering it.

COMPONENTS TRUNK Kae right now has three trunks, each having components for her craft. Mostly for making potions and artifacts. These include special engraving tools, enchantment devices, the ingredients one might expect a mage to have to make potions. And of course her potions gear, these being things she acquired from a chemistry supply store, as well as some arcane shops.

COMPUTERS

Kae has a number of computers, from a couple laptops to a large tower back at her home. Many of them she uses to help her develop new spell matrices and envision them before sticking them on items. Also these machines can be used to cast those same matrices that are stored on them by a competent mage. She oft uses these establish circles instead of writing with chalk on the ground. of course she can do that too, using her pad, or laptop as a reference source to show her what she needs to see to draw those circles. Mostly she uses modern technology like this as a reference source.

EARRINGS

Kae has a pair of earrings. Each one has a different enchantment. One with concentration enhances her senses to a rather high degree, and allows her to focus easily one sense at a time. The other allows her to see well in the dark, and helps her to literally open doors.

LIBRARY

Kae has a small library she keeps safely stored in an item in her home. She oft uses her backpack to access this space or reaches up on disguised shelves, drawing whatever book she needs out of a gap between a pair of books depicting the collected works of Shakespeare. This library is small by many mages standards, these only having what she's picked up in her short time training and as a journeyman. There are about 6 grimoirs, and a few dozen research sources for summoning, artifact design, enchantment, etc.

MAGI-PHONE

Kae has taken a Galaxy Samsung style phone and converted it or made a new one that now is powered by the enchantments she's laid on it. This also has a form of Android she has customized. It lets her use it for all the functions one might think of for a smart phone, but she also has a number of 'apps' that store spells and spell references, kind of like a portal Grimoir. Oft she uses it for information and quickly looking up something arcane. But with her enchantments on it, it can allow her to also quick cast a number of spells without having to go through a giant ritual, at least till the phone's battery runs out.

NEW AGE SHOPPE

Kae owns a shop she uses to sell her enchantments, items and spells out of. It also doubles as a New Age Shoppe for those mundanes who frequent her doors. From it she sells potions, enchantments, charms, books on new age, incense, you name it. It's just so happens the minor enchantments, charms and potions she sells often are the real thing, even if -very- minor and rather short durationed. She also sells items and components to real magic users who might come in, as such she also has to maintain supply lines and sellers to acquire her components or go out and gather them her self.

RING OF RETURN

A ring with a simple enchantment which bring any of her common artifacts back to her should they be lost or stolen. The ring its self just looks like a small titanium ring, also this ring is spiritually linked to her. If she's separated from it, she just has to will it back to her and it will appear on her finger. After a few hours the ring will do that on its own too.

RUNE NECKLACE

A simple enchantment on this piece, this piece lets her summon a light, she can choose to direct the light or give a warm ambient non-directional light for her to see by.

VEHICLE

Kae has a newer Ford F150. The only thing's she's done to it is make sure that it won't get scratched up in a parking lot, and rendered it mostly theft-proof. She's also made it so that if it's in a wreck, after she's had it towed off she can simply restore it back to where it was before the accident happened. Other than transportation, and storage of stuff underneath a camper shell, the truck isn't much special. She just likes her pickup.

WRITING MATERIALS

Kae carries a 'never ending' wax pen, one white and one black, and a few lumps of chalk. She uses them for circles, writing stuff in general, drawing, you name it.

ENERGETIC

Yes, Kae can be hyper, when she gets this way her train of thought can go all over the place. Or she gets so focused and enthused on something she can't really let it go and doggedly pursues said thing to the exclusion of all else. At least till something else shows up.

FRIENDS

Kae is a staunch friend and exceedingly loyal. This can be used against her by those willing. She can also be incredibly trusting at times of anyone she considers friends.

GADGETS

Kae has a number of artificed gadgets. Whether these be high tech gadgets that were enchanted, powered, or made by magic, or things most folks assume would be a magical artifact. Some have limited uses, some just help her cast the spells she uses on a regular basis and act as foci. 

Many of Kae's more technological items store spells for her to quick cast later, these items hold a limited number of spells and have a limited number of power. A cell phone can run out of battery, and the spells when being used put more of a strain on the phone than regular use. As such she needs to recharge the phone if she's using it, or any other technological thing that runs on batteries. And without it the item is useless. Also generally, less it's one of two personal technological items, these program/spells have exceedingly limited use. Some delete them selves or just cease to function completely after the power in their programmed lattice has been exhausted.

Without her items, Kae's ability to function as a mage is hindered. All her preparation is then out, and she is limited at that point in how many spells she is able to pull off.

HUMAN

Kae is a Human being, she's mortal, other than the magics and such she wields. As such she is just as frail as your average human being and suspect to damage or death.

INCOME

Kae makes her income from selling arcane and new age items. She is -not- rich really, as such, she can be limited in funds every now and then and might have a hard time replacing lost, damaged or stolen items.

LAWS OF MAGIC

There are several laws of magic and all, but two of them come to the forefront. 

Law of equivalent Exchange:

All magic has a cost. Be it a physical and mental toll on the caster, or in the case of long rituals, a cost in physical items as well as a physical toll on the caster. In many rituals a number of items are consumed by the magic, thus providing longevity and or power to the spell. Ritual magics have a 'monetary' In the case of evocations or combat magics, these are spells that are not meant to last very long and will eventually tire the caster out. Just like an athlete who fights in a ring, or runs a sprint or a Marathon, a mage gets tired from casting repeated spells or rituals. They need to rest and recharge after a while.

Magic is for Defense:

Kae's magic is to be used for the betterment of others or her self, and for defense. If she or others are threatened by the actions of another, Kae is empowered by the order she learned from to act through magical means.

PERSONAL CODE

There are several rules Kae kind of self imposes on her self... 

First: Kae tries hard not to kill. This in many case will limit what spells she can use in a dangerous situation. This also means that generally Kae will start with weaker spells and gradually escalate the spell's power, or maybe change her tactics to try and disable, not kill another being. This means that in a fight she generally won't start out by throwing her best or most powerful spells and sometimes leaves her self open that way.

Secondly: Kae tries to remain hidden when out in the open, this is not always possible, but oft if she is discovered she'll either try and alter the person's memory of her casting magic. She has her family and store to maintain, so she tries to keep from prying eyes. If she should try to act openly, she'll generally throw an illusion around her self to keep from being recognized. While some might think this isn't much, this is a spell she has to cast and maintain and though a minor drain, it can limit her effectiveness in the field.

Third: Kae tries hard to help the folks she thinks really needs it when she encounters them, and she'll go about it in a way she won't cause harm to someone else in the process. She'll heal injuries when she can, maybe help a person if they're troubled by thugs, and help people find other people or things. This is possibly not a weakness all the time, but it can be a hindrance at times.

SECRETS

Kae's a Mage, there's a lot she needs to keep secret from the world at large. And she doesn't wish to get in trouble with the Magic Ruling Body at large. She also has to be careful when she uses her powers in public and about how she goes about it.

SHOPPE

Kae has a shoppe, she has to keep it stocked! Often times she goes out and gets into trouble when she is out gathering materials to stock her shop. Or she can be a little short on money at times due to having to keep her store stocked as well as she can.

SMART ALLECK

Kae's a smart alleck, or a wise ass. She rarely misses an opportunity to make some kind of smart allecky statement about something, or she might throw out the occasional bad pun. Some folks don't really like this and it can annoy those around her at times.

STUBBORN

Kae has a stubborn streak. This usually shows its self when she is trying to get something done. There are many times she -should- let go, she just doesn't.

Waterfront Rescue August 31st, 2017 The heroes arrive at the port, encountering henchment guarding a warehouse. On the approach, they are challenged by Mammoth and Shimmer, who duel with Wonder Girl and then withdraw, while others sneak into the warehouse, just as Damian effects his own escape. Inside, they discover Doctor Light seemingly in charge, though he bickers with Ravager. The team engages, with Colette and Kaelyn destroying some of the power-dampening machinery within while battling Light as he draws power from Cassie's lasso, lashing out with powerful attacks. Cassie meets Ravager's sword to give Damian an opening, and then Light seemingly destroys him with much of the rest of the building before being subdued. Saving a falling Wonder Girl and taking Light into custody, the group escapes, with Ravager seemingly the only casualty of the incident.
Droning the Docks August 29th, 2017 Kaelyn follows her magical scrying as far as the strange interference allows, to the Port of Newark. Using her clockwork insect creations, she searches the port and locates the area of interference, though it proves harmful to her minions as well. Taking an 'injured' insect with her, she plans to return with other heroes to search the area for lost Damian.
