Profile
The story of the Fall is one that's been told and retold many times. Sammael-- Lucifer-- led a third of the Host of Heaven into bloody rebellion against the Pearly Gates, and for his insoucience was cast from the White City. For unchecked millennia he has served as Shai'tan, the Opponent; his purpose unknown and inscrutable to all except himself and the Creator.

Lucifer is tall, somewhat muscular, and has a regal, noble look about him. His blonde hair is around finger length, combed to perfection. He has a somewhat prominent jaw with a clean shaven face.
If one gets close enough to him however, the sheer perfection of his facial symmetry might appear unnatural. His eyes seem to shift in color slowly over time. He has an eerie presence and it is almost as if gravity is a bit stronger around him, as if his presence vibrates in the air around him. A tailored white suit and white dress shoes adorn him presently.

History

In the time before time, the Silver City was a bastion of perfect order and harmony. The Creator looked upon the universe and saw it was good; and made manifest the angels, the Heavenly Host, to be protects and defenders of the universe against the forces of corruption and entropy. Chief among them, First among Equals, stood Samael, called the Morningstar for the holy fires he wielded. Though the Silver City was a place of perfect order and conformity, the organic nature of the universe itself would require a delicate touch to protect. The Creator endowed Samael with a sense of creativity, of wonder, and most importantly -- the ability to question. He, alongside his beloved brother Michael, split between them the might of God. To Michael was given the power to create, and to Samael, shape all that creation.
When the Creator manifested man as the next step in the Grand Design, the Host were ordered to love and worship these human spirits. Samael heard the doubts and fears among his brethren, and witnessed the stirring of the Lilim, the forgotten chorus denied a rightful place. When he sought to question the Voice in its purpose, God's answers did not allay him. Michael maintained a silent counsel and would not break. A hard conviction settled in deep -- that humans had deep flaws that could crack the Grand Design in half. And if the Creator wouldn't see the flaws in them, Samael would expose them.
So he tested the primordial human spirit -- Adam and Eve, sequestered in the Gardens of Creation. He did not tempt them with knowledge, but with avarice, by showing them a grand universe, ripe for the taking, and how the two of them were 'entitled' to their inheritance as they were made in the image of the Creator. The results revealed indelible errors to the grand design and deeply alarmed the host, already seething with contempt, fear, and worry. While silence reigned, the Lightbringer departed. Quitting the White City, a full third of the Host followed him to take up refuge in the wastelands of creation. War would follow, a battle that shattered the third to the far reaches while the Lilim remained neutral alongside the nephilim and repented of it for all the long, long days to come. Michael descended against his brother, yet never truly struck, refraining from that final blow.
Thus did Samael fulfill another avenue of the Grand Design by taking himself to the furthest reaches of the depths, stretching his light as far as it might reach. His plots and devisings to safeguard Creation shaped and kindled by his own hands differed none from Michael Demiurgos above, save the everlasting silence of the Presence accompanied them. He played the great game, a consummate master, from the realm he spun around him. Thus ruled Lucifer Morningstar -- the one who brings the dawnlight to those languishing in darkness.

Lucifer is sharp, smart, charismatic, and tormented, all at once. His intellect is truely staggering in scope, though like many elemental beings he has little appreciation for the sciences; the mere act of contemplating a question provides him an answer. He is a schemer and a plotter, who sets plans into motion with goals measured in years or even eons. His actions often seem unpredictable or inscrutable; he may show favor to one person or condemn another, often as part of some scheme that might not see dividends until long after the target of his attentions is dead. Though he's abandoned Hell to let the Fallen gouge and tear at one another for the scraps of Creation's leavings, Lucifer is ever concerned with accumulating enough temporal power to ensure he can protect the Grand Design from anyone who might threaten to undermine it, and push humanity to the height of their glory-- or to plummet and fall to the depths of their failure.

DEADLY SINS
The seven deadly sins stain the psyche. Lucifer can read those subtle currents as a vision from a subject. He can't control what he sees, but he can gain insight into the worst acts a person committed, their strongest vices, or their burning desires that may well even be buried to them. The effect isn't instantaneous; he needs to make contact of some kind - be that eye or touch - and fully concentrate for at least a few seconds. What he sees is fully up to the subject. This power requires player consent.
DIVINE PRESENCE
Even in his mortal form, the spark of the Divine illuminates Lucifer's skin from within. His presence, or his charisma, is undeniable, and follows his wake everywhere he goes. Unlike the demonic entities who worship him, where Lucifer walks, light follows. Plants grow, clouds fade, songs resonate, and spirits lift. Even the smallest of his gestures carries the touch of the divine spark and can leave a positive impact on a person.
Regrettably, however, he frequently channels his darkest inclincations into that presence, and has little trouble sowing seeds of rage, lust, avarice, gluttony, and other primal sins in his wake.
EXTRAPLANAR BEING
Archangels do not exist merely on standard four-axis cosmological lines. He exists as a complex particle wave along multiple dimensions all at once, in the future and the past simultaneously. In the crudest of terms, one might suggest that angels exist 'alongside' the normal space-time continuum, and he can navigate time and space by simple focus of willpower as effortlessly as a fish swims through the river up or downstream. In short, he can coexist in multiple times and layers, traveling back and forth.
FAUSTIAN BARGAIN
Lucifer's single greatest power is his ability to make a pact with a mortal. It is difficult for him to directly interact with a mortal without their permission or consent; however, by uniting the power of a mortal spirit with his angelic gifts, Lucifer can turn the full might of the Grand Design with no limitations. He can flout physics, chronology, rewrite memories-- with a Faustian Pact in place, Lucifer's powers become nearly limitless.
GRAND DESIGN
The Creator granted Lucifer the knowledge of the grand design, the blueprint for creation, to be able to fulfill its ends. Even 'fallen,' Lucifer perceives every aspect of the plan through a lens darkly. He hears the celestial music when all goes according to plans, and views the entanglements in dark snarls when someone works against its ends. This sense cannot be suppressed, though he can intensely scrutinize the pattern for a source and more detail. Its overall magnitude depends heavily on the level of interference and his proximity. Defying the grand design runs roughshod over him to the point of physical pain, inspiring him to act to correct the flaws as God designed him to do. This ability serves mostly as a tool and a catalyst for RP, with player or staff approval.
LIGHTBRINGER FLAMES
Lucifer wields the primal fires of creation as his signature, foremost weapon. It would be a mistake to call these fire. They are the primeval light invoked by God at the beginning of the universe. Their composition is a complex blend of magic, plasma, energy, and divine will manifest. The flames can burn through anything in the cosmos, given enough time and intensity.
As they are not an entirely pure form of energy, they cannot be absorbed by a creature less powerful than Lucifer himself. The Lightbringer's Flames are volatile and intensely reactive, requiring his focused control to shape it to his desire. He can easily create different shapes, multiple projectiles, or bursts centered on himself or others targets within his general vicinity.
This ability coincidentally tends to banish darkness around him, and usually destroys or suspends all shadow, negative energy or darkness based powers in the vicinity. Its secondary effects quite often bring minor blessings: enhancing emotions, purging imperfections, burning out drugs and venom, causing things to operate smoothly, and even erasing bad dreams. The holy aspect of this ability hasn't waned as an archangel, which makes his manifestations so incongruous and chilling.
As the primeval source of light in creation, Lucifer's signature ability is rightly feared.
MATTER MANIPULATION
He can physically alter and manipulate matter down to the subatomic level, completely changing their nature and structure to anything his prodigious imagination can manage. With sufficient quantities of energy, Lucifer can quite literally create dimensions, life, or (presumably) alternate universes. He can provide sentience to inanimate objects, permanently alter the nature of something or matter, or make genetic alterations and augmentations to living subjects. In all respects, the only things limiting him are time and availability of matter. Accessible power or large quantities of energy accelerate his shaping abilities.
However, Lucifer /cannot/ create something out of true nothing, which is to say, he cannot create matter from nothing.

In his unguarded form as an archangel, Lucifer is a primal being of pure will and spiritual power. His undampened presence blinds mortals; his voice can deafen and drive them mad. He exists in this state as a being -beyond- the physical, on a level of existence that is simply inconceivable to all but a very few entities of truly cosmic scope and power.
As with his brother, however, he may manifest a mortal vessel to interact with the temporal realm. Perhaps as a nod to his vanity, his temporal form is often handsome and charismatic. With an extraordinary effort, this body can be damaged or injured, or even destroyed; but as a primal entity, it's not a difficult matter to reconstitute it over time. Created as a manifestation of Lucifer's willpower and focus, this temporal form contains only a sliver of his angelic power; but even still, the vessel possesses superhuman abilities and durability unless determined otherwise. Lucifer acts as the secondary bartender at Lux, and he particularly likes mixing up fiendishly complicated cocktails. He knows the finer points of wine and liquors, as well as blending them.
COMBAT
Lucifer has few equals among the Heavenly Host in the art of combat. Though few entities can withstand the will of an archangel (their weapon of choice being raw, channeled willpower), there are times when arms and armor are best donned, particularly in the face of the most dire threats to the Host. In this regard, he is a warrior of extraordinary practice and singular talent, even among those who can match his near-limitless angelic power and grace. When Lucifer fled the Silver City, he took a fair number of relics with him, items of singular power that are a formidable aid even for something as mighty as an archangel.
His particular skill for pinpointing weaknesses and pressing an advantage is something he exploits ruthlessly against his opponents. He has expertise in subduing and immobilizing rather than killing; he doesn't care for murdering opponents.
FLIGHT
Having been capable of flight since his creation, Lucifer is a nimble, highly seasoned flyer. His great speed and agility make him an impressive combatant on the wing, and not a whole lot of fun to be carried by for those unable to endure how fast he travels.
INTELLECTUS
Archangels are not omniscient, but they do not process knowledge the way a mortal does. For Lucifer, all knowledge and wisdom is contained in the writings of the universe itself, and he must merely focus his thoughts upon a topic to gain that information. His memory is unfailing, and he shaped much of the universe. It is not impossible to hide such secrets from the divine, however, with the proper knowledge and skill. But that's just catnip...
OCCULT
Lucifer is the father of occult studies, petitioned by casters for millennia and very well seasoned in the countless traditions, methods, and spells used. While most of his 'effects' in fact are the embodiment of his abilities to rewrite matter to his liking, he can read grimoire or use magic according to their normal rules. His own energy typically fuels these spells. He can replicate many petitions and high level effects, so long as he supplies the necessary components, power, and other requirements. If a spell requires a silver circle, he must supply that for the magic to function.
Certain kinds of magic he knows replicate other abilities, like telepathy, illusions, or elementalism. He can feasibly teach any of the varied arts he knows, and occasionally bestows knowledge on worthy individuals as a favour or mark of approval.

Composing the music of the spheres isn't altogether different from mastering a piano concerto or figuring out the right BPM for a techno mashup. Lucifer literally rocks when he wants to, though having the stage presence of a front man definitely helps. He is more gifted with a piano or violin than guitar, but his real skill lies in his voice. As a singer, he is pretty damned impressive.

Lucifer owns a very posh nightclub called "LUX." He has a branch, "EX LUX," that seems to magically appear and disappear with alarming frequency. Lux has all the cachet and luxurious contents a high-end nightclub with breathtaking resources can acquire. The pretty people, the liquor, the high-end security systems and magical wards that would make any sorcerer sneeze.
ESOTERICA
Lucifer's descent hardly emerged spontaneously. He claimed a good many spellbooks, sacred relics, weapons, and armour forged by the Heavenly Host by right prior to quitting the Silver City and retains them now. In Hell, his servitors created equally as many useful devices and tools, and the products of their tinkering handsomely endow his vaults scattered here and there. He doesn't have all Hell or Heaven had to offer; still, he maintains more than a few impressive occult grimoires and relics fit to restrain or enhance his manifested power, bind his abilities to protect others, and generally make mystics salivate.
FAVOURS
Lucifer rarely does something for nothing unless it serves the Great Design. He deals in contracts and favours, acquiring debts for future use in lieu of other payments. When he needs something, he has plenty of leverage to cash in, in practically every and any corner. He may need time, but he can find aid.
FORTUNE
Lucifer doesn't want for money when he can conjure it up out of thin air whenever he needs to. Currency is no issue when a bit of directed thought and a phone call can shift money around funds and make everyone paid up or happy. His mundane collection of paintings, baubles, and 'forgotten' treasures lost to time rivals the British Museum collections. Wealthy as Croesus? Please. Wealthy as Lucifer.
OCCULT
He's the Morningstar, the Lightbringer, and the second eldest being in Creation. His name carries a tremendous weight and a very particular cachet among occultists and practitioners of the mystic arts. Lucifer's reputation actually benefits him insofar as obtaining information or resources.
SWORD
Lucifer's sword embodies the flaming glory of the first dawn, forged of the primal fires of the Big Bang. It actually functions as an extension of his will in mortal form. He can make it appear however he likes, subverting it from a glaive to a scythe to a sword with a thought, and cause it to shed the lightbringer's flames. The Lightbringer cannot shatter or ever truly be lost. He can will it into being by conscious act. Due to being a construct of divine energy, it can absorb magic and energy blasts into itself or redirect them, if Lucifer is aware. It can slice through any substance except something equal or superior to his power. The blade's connection to divine energy gives it tremendous effectiveness against infernal entities, vice, sin, and corruption. It passes harmlessly through those who have committed no fault and deserve no punishment, much to his chagrin.

Lucifer's descent hardly emerged spontaneously. He claimed a good many spellbooks, sacred relics, weapons, and armour forged by the Heavenly Host by right prior to quitting the Silver City and retains them now. In Hell, his servitors created equally as many useful devices and tools, and the products of their tinkering handsomely endow his vaults scattered here and there. He doesn't have all Hell or Heaven had to offer; still, he maintains more than a few impressive occult grimoires and relics fit to restrain or enhance his manifested power, bind his abilities to protect others, and generally make mystics salivate.
FAVOURS
Lucifer rarely does something for nothing unless it serves the Great Design. He deals in contracts and favours, acquiring debts for future use in lieu of other payments. When he needs something, he has plenty of leverage to cash in, in practically every and any corner. He may need time, but he can find aid.
FORTUNE
Lucifer doesn't want for money when he can conjure it up out of thin air whenever he needs to. Currency is no issue when a bit of directed thought and a phone call can shift money around funds and make everyone paid up or happy. His mundane collection of paintings, baubles, and 'forgotten' treasures lost to time rivals the British Museum collections. Wealthy as Croesus? Please. Wealthy as Lucifer.
OCCULT
He's the Morningstar, the Lightbringer, and the second eldest being in Creation. His name carries a tremendous weight and a very particular cachet among occultists and practitioners of the mystic arts. Lucifer's reputation actually benefits him insofar as obtaining information or resources.
SWORD
Lucifer's sword embodies the flaming glory of the first dawn, forged of the primal fires of the Big Bang. It actually functions as an extension of his will in mortal form. He can make it appear however he likes, subverting it from a glaive to a scythe to a sword with a thought, and cause it to shed the lightbringer's flames. The Lightbringer cannot shatter or ever truly be lost. He can will it into being by conscious act. Due to being a construct of divine energy, it can absorb magic and energy blasts into itself or redirect them, if Lucifer is aware. It can slice through any substance except something equal or superior to his power. The blade's connection to divine energy gives it tremendous effectiveness against infernal entities, vice, sin, and corruption. It passes harmlessly through those who have committed no fault and deserve no punishment, much to his chagrin.
